Service was so slow. Waited over 10minutes for a coffee and soft drink to be given Diet Coke instead of full fat. I just left it and drank that. then waited 30 minutes for poached eggs on toast and a club sandwich. That was supposed to come with side of crisps or Salad which got neither. !! It was not busy only 3 tables in the whole place. Awful experience!!

We booked a table for 10 people. We ordered brunch. Absolutely shocked: -burnt hard sausage -half a fried egg with hard yolk even though we asked for a runny yolk -cheese board took over an hour to arrive and no crackers to go with even though the menu said so. However pounds of cheese. -eggs royale came with a disgusting fat wedge of dark smoked salmon -eggs royale and eggs benedict came with one muffin and one egg - hard poached eggs -soggy toast. -A lump of avocado on soggy toast -disgusting prices To add, our food took over an hour to arrive and it arrived at staggered times. The waitress told other customers it was because of our table the service was slow. On our way out, a couple of customers shouted at us and blamed us for the service being slow. I was absolutely appalled at this place. Never ever again.

Found this bar whilst wandering around the town on a short break. Big signs outside giving daily deals including happy hour on the day and times we popped. Ordered 2 x cocktails which came to £18 which surprised me considering the happy hour advert clearly on display. When questioned the price which had already been paid was told "oh sorry its 20% off I forgot". Was then given £3.60 in cash back. Lovely little location and initially had a real good feel about the place. So dissapointed by prices considering offers clearly on display. Very expensive and won't return.

I've never written a review before, I just vote with my feet but this was so shockingly bad We went for Sunday lunch with Jazz band ( they were amazing musicians) From sittinng down we were served Sunday lunch and were walking out of the door in 30 mins. We sat down and asked for a menu to be told there is no menu do you want lamb or chicken! No starters available. Within 5 mins two plates of food arrived everything slapped on the plate of soggy veg cold meat and white hard roast potatoes. It's was literally inedable, worse than you worst image of school dinners. When we pointed this out to the owner he just said yes I know,! So why on earth keep serving it! Lovely bar man who did look embarrassed. I just don't understand how anyone looks at that plate of sludge and thinks it ok to serve it and charge people. It's a shame because the restaurant had a nice vibe and the band were brilliant.

Tried it for Breakfast 12/3/22 . They did`nt seem to know who was seated where despite it not being very busy. Anyway ordered breakfast with scrambled eggs no beans no tomato. Turned up fried eggs, no beans no tomato and NO Mushrooms. Adequate fried egg [which i did`nt order] Stone cold toast layered in stone cold butter which i could`nt eat. Sausages not bad, bacon not bad. Black pudding was also awful. Over cooked or poor quality or not fresh. Just not nice. No one came over to ask if i was enjoying the food, i was`nt anyway. I Will not be going back. The jazz on sunday`s must be truly `smokin!`if the sunday lunch is any thing like the breakfasts.

Staff very friendly and helpful. However service is a bit slow. Had a sourdough sandwich. Pretty thin bread slices and cut across the loaf (not diagonally) so rather small in our opinion. Also had some chips, not at all crispy and only just cooked after a half hours wait from ordering. Drinks quite pricey at £4.60 for a non alcoholic half of beer. Must be making a good mark up (70p a bottle in the Co-op). However, not crowded, tasty food and friendly staff so will be back.

Just had the most amazing tacos here, so fresh and so tasty! I've been to Mexico on holiday and eaten tacos and these were as good as the best over there! Great value too. The drinks, contrary to a previous review were average priced. In fact the drinks menu is on their website with prices to prove the point. 👏 👏

Popped into this establishment with 4 friends for a quiet drink. Staff were very friendly and polite. Unfortunately the total cost for 5 alcoholic drinks came to £58 which we thought was incorrect but wasn’t. My friend (stupidly) ordered a small bottle of Peroni afterwards and that came to £8.50. Like I said before, the owners were extremely friendly and I understand that they have just opened but how they can justify charging (Central London) prices is beyond me. Will definitely not be going back unless they dramatically lowered their prices. Spoilt a good night.

I've visited No12 a couple of times now and on both occasions the food has been exceptional and the service friendly and attentive. Last night we had the Mexican Tapas and it was really good and really good value. We are both vegan and that was easily accommodated and with plenty of choice too. The Durif red wine is gorgeous and the first time I had seen it available in the UK - that is vegan as well as being delicious. Special mention for Shannon who on both occasions has been really helpful.

It isn’t that often I visit The Windmill, but I know the place well enough to know something is very different. There was a different aura in the air today. I didn’t recognise any of the staff members, and whilst they seemed like a large family, they were all unique and discombobulated in their own ways. I must start with some high praise - we were greeted very kindly by a lovely tall Irish lady with a beaming smile. Whilst very busy, she was also very accompanying and allowed us to buy a few of their home-made pint glasses (which she said she wasn’t supposed to do). Hats off to her for the hospitality. Sadly things took a slight turn for the worse whilst we were seated. It was only myself and my partner ordering some pub grub, however, after a brief conversation with the waiter it was quickly apparent that some kind of knowledge barrier prevented us from ordering exactly what we wanted. I have a suspicion this older gentleman was a distinguished chef from years gone by, because there wasn’t a single word I understood in his recommendations. Embarrassingly, we decided to opt for a few beers at the bar before ordering food instead. I must admit, that was a saving grace, for their homemade beer ‘Hawkstone’ was divine. The bartender was full of dry wit which added to a great atmosphere amongst the other guests. He has that familiar family friendly humour, like you wouldn’t be surprised to see him on TV! Not only was the beer exceptional in quality, the slight intoxication seemed to clear up some of the brain fog I was experiencing earlier, since the waiter suddenly seemed to made a lot more sense! So, we finally ordered our meal and enjoyed some local produce - again, simply divine. Despite the great tastes and atmosphere, I couldn’t help but feel the service was jeopardised by the initial language barrier. As such, I did ask the waiter if we could remove our service charge. I should add, this was a new waiter at the time, a dreary English chap who wasn’t impressed with our request. Whilst his thorough and detailed lecture around why a service charge holds such an important role in the overarching finance of the food industry, I tried to hold my ground and get this removed from the bill. It was only after we realised my partner had been asleep for 8 minutes that we sped things up, paid the bill with a 50/50 compromise on the service charge, and got ourselves out of there. All in all, I’d recommend the establishment because, despite some teething problems and unorthodox scenarios, the people are genuine and the food/drink is exceptional. Just keep an eye out for those tractors (given the rural area) - a young man with curly blonde hair had completely blocked my car in so we had to wait half an hour to leave!

Never again! Our starters were average, the ‘butterfly prawn’ was mostly bread crumb and very little prawn and extremely dry. The chicken Shashlick was cooked to almost sawdust, dry and tough and inedible. Why do you get a punnet of salad? It is neither in keeping or in this case edible.
