We have just spent the weekend at the Cotswold Hotel & Spa. The hotel was very easy to find, just on the main road. The rooms are clean and well stocked, the staff are very helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay again if in the area.

Haven’t even been and I couldn’t be happier. Booked a stay for my parents as a Christmas present and had a mix up with dates and payment and double booking etc. James from the reservations team was a great help and sorted it all out for me! Thanks again James and hopefully my parents have just as great experience on their arrival

Stayed between Christmas and New Year 2024. The approach to the hotel is not very nice as you drive through the children's farm area. The bar and restaurant lacked any ambience even with Christmas decorations. The breakfast was ok but we decided to drive into Chipping Norton the second morning and had a delicious breakfast in the Old Mill Cafe. Our room and bathroom were nice and the staff were helpful and work hard.

Our recent stay at the Cotswolds Hotel and Spa was an absolute delight. We booked the Studio Room, and it exceeded all expectations. The room was spacious, modern, and tastefully designed, making it feel like a home away from home. The fully equipped kitchen was a fantastic feature, allowing us to prepare meals with ease, while the lounge area offered a comfortable spot to relax after a day of exploring the beautiful Cotswolds. The highlight of the room was undoubtedly the private patio, which provided stunning views of the surrounding countryside and golf course. Sipping coffee in the morning with such a serene backdrop was a true pleasure. The hotel grounds were equally impressive—well-maintained and peaceful, perfect for a leisurely stroll. The spa was a wonderful bonus. We indulged in a couple of treatments, which were expertly delivered by the friendly and professional staff. The thermal suite and relaxation areas added an extra layer of tranquility to our stay. Whether you’re looking for a romantic escape or a rejuvenating getaway, the Cotswolds Hotel and Spa is a fantastic choice. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and already planning our next visit! Highly recommended.

Where to start. The hotels website has misleading pictures that make the hotel look far better than it actually is in reality. The rooms/dining/bar is nothing like pictured. The restaurant food is disgusting. We ordered the two simplest things on the menu, fish and chips and a burger. All came swimming in greas tip - your oil is too low. The chef couldn't be bothered to make me chips so threw in fries- all of which were over cooked, very greasy and like the little pieces of broken fries you have left at the end of the bag of frozen fries. The mushy peas we're beyond dry. I have never taken one bite and left whilst refusing to pay in my life, but on this day, I did as the food was not worth the £40 bill. £40 for a burger and fish and chips, and I expect it to be not worse than wetherspoons! Also, they only have single slots for spa treatments, meaning if you want to have a treatment with your partner, you are out of luck. We had to leave the so-called "hotel and spa" to go into town to find an actual spa who provided couples massages. The beds are 2 pushed together, extremely uncomfortable, and the cushions were wafer thin n duvet is cheap. Had I been aware of all of this, I would not have stayed here. I do not recommend it, and I absolutely will not be back, and I strongly advise others to avoid at all costs.

Me and my partner decided to take a weekend off and go down to the Cotswolds recently and selected this hotel on price. It was about 2/3 the price of other local hotels around the area. Don’t make the same mistake as us! When we arrived the car park was packed and turns out that there was a huge wedding on over the weekend and maybe 90% of the guests were there for that. We hadn’t been notified of this beforehand, otherwise we would have decided to book somewhere else for a quiet weekend getaway. I’ve since spoken to customer services that say they can’t share private information. I didn’t want their names and address. Just to know the hotel was at max capacity for a loud event! This coupled with the fact the walls are paper thin, our first room was next to the doorway into our block of rooms and that wedding guests left kids (maybe aged 7-13?) unattended from around 9pm-gone midnight meant we didn’t sleep a lot once the guests were getting up at 6am to start getting ready. The hotel were pretty good about us moving rooms after the first night and to give them some credit they did give us an upgrade to a suite which was appreciated. But here’s where the real problems started. After going to bed at 9pm as we didn’t sleep the night before our neighbours decided to come back at 1am and start a drug fuelled party in the suite next door (we could hear them discussing this as they left to collect said drugs) after discussing (minus expletives) how they didn’t care about the noise and having neighbours. This carried on until about 5am. My real problem with the hotel though is the customer service department. After providing video proof of our stay they have told us the fault is ours. That we should have contacted the night porter to complain. Whilst that sounds like a great idea I didn’t want 4-5 intoxicated men knowing we had grassed them up, shouldn’t the night porter be doing rounds and picking up on an after party that went on for 4 hours? To top it off they offered a 10% off a future stay when it’s quite apparent we have no interest to return. And now they’ve stopped responding to any emails I send querying escalating it. Don’t stay at this hotel if you want to sleep. And please don’t reply to this with a generic “contact our services department on this email” because I’ve done that, and you’ve stopped replying! *edit* We have now begrudgingly agreed a £15 refund for two nights without sleep as their “last gesture of good will”. I understand they’re running a business but when the business doesn’t provide the bare basic needs and blames customers for the situation I find this laughable. If I knew how to escalate this further without legal proceedings I would. Alas they don’t seem bothered and I don’t have the time or energy to pursue it further.

Very comfortable place to stay, the rooms are big enough and have kettle, tea and coffee, got all the other things you may need like hair dryer ect..the rooms are really warm too, which was good as it was cold when I stayed, can't fault the place at all, good place to stay if your visiting Clarkesons farm and the pub and brewery,as it's a rush to do all in one day especially if your travelling there and home the same day.

Nice room. Shame the view was looking into the car park. We were there for two nights and checked in around 1am. The room was very warm so that was an extra bonus in winter. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. It's a short drive to Chipping Norton where we went to see a pantomime. Nice and relaxing stay.

I stayed here for one night with some friends as a mini break. The hotel is well maintained and clean, with the rooms being well sized. Staff are friendly and were happy to help with any questions. The rooms have a strange layout, which makes most things unusable. There were some uncomfortable chairs, an uncomfortable sofa, and an embarrassingly small tv attached to the wall. The bathroom is great, albeit a bit cold It should be noted that the bed is just two singles pushed together. Our rooms came with dinner and breakfast. The dinner was completely average. The breakfast was a beige buffet expertly cooked by Chef Mic(rowave). I would strongly suggest not eating here until they drastically improve the quality of their kitchen and change food suppliers.

We stayed in a ground floor studio suite with two primary school children and two adults for a long weekend. We were very pleasantly surprised by the accommodation. It's modern, spotless, very large room, sofa, dining table and full kitchen with oven, micro, dishwasher and washing machine. Beautiful and clean shower room. Very large, secure terrace looking out on to the fields and golf course. This is possible the nicest accommodation we have stayed in in the UK and so well equipped that we have been able to get food from the local M&S and eat in. We have had a drink in the bar and eaten at the restaurant. Reasonably priced and again really great food. Breakfast was perhaps a little less choice than other places (often more pastries/ waffles, fresh fruit) but what was provided was really well cooked and of good quality. We also arrived quite late for breakfast so possible they had just run out. All in all its a brilliant place and we hope to come again.

A friend and I booked to have a full body massage and a treatment, each. From the initial phone call right through to our departure, we were both looked after beautifully. Chanterel looked after me with a Swedish massage followed by head neck and shoulder massage, my friend had an aromatherapy body massage followed by an aromatherapy facial. Both our therapists worked on us in almost silence, leaving us to fully relax and enjoy the pampering. I can't say I'm usually much of a fan of being "pampered" but this was an amazing experience and I'd recommend it to everyone. My friend does this sort of thing more often and said it topped all the treatments she'd ever had. Many thanks.

We booked this hotel for our wedding. We reserved perhaps 30 rooms, paying for many up front, and only made specific requests around the rooming of the grooms room, brides room and wedding party. The events staff were terrible for replying to anything, at one point cancelled all our reservations for rooms because we asked to make one amend to a dinner reservation, and were rude in person. They also, despite confirming our arrangement, booked the grooms room away from his groomsmen, leaving him near strangers on the morning of the wedding and giving us terrible photos of him getting ready for his wedding in a tiny room because the hotel venue had failed to honour their booking agreement and had reserved all the other rooms. When we raised this with them, they apologised in person and did nothing else, despite recognising they had messed up. Unfortunately, this was our wedding and therefore we are stuck with memories of awful service and a damaged morning for our wedding. To be fair, we had booked a rehearsal dinner with the venue too. Though they did nothing special for this event, including having no service for the first twenty minutes of our booking, the food was delicious. This unfortunately isn’t reflected for standard dinner service, as despite paying for a bottle of wine for dinner with my parents, they then tried to double charge us for it afterwards which was only resolved after we raised a complaint. So yeah… we wouldn’t go back again.

It's a shame but the biggest problem we had was the temperature of the room, way too hot. No air conditioning, vents on the windows or the ability to leave windows or doors open overnight due to shared balconies. Our room had the sun during the day and when we came back after a day out it was barely habitable. Open the doors and windows, but overnight was not pleasant. It would be ok in the spring, autumn or winter but not when hot in my experience. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and the quality was good. Dinner was less so.

100000% OVERBOOKED, ruined a birthday! Our Two Ball took FIVE hours! The funny thing is, there is a sign outside of the Pro Shop saying that Tee 10 was the starting tee so that the flow of play could be improved, however, this was not the case…if we started at Tee 1, would it have been 6 hours? We feel robbed at £60 per person due to the sloppy organisation and the fact it was so heavily overbooked. We would finish 1 hole, and then be waiting 10-15 minutes to even start the next. This waiting around means you can’t get any rhythm in your play, and it sucked every ounce of enjoyment out of it! I’ll keep you all posted to see what they offer as compensation!

Well the spa was closed, the rooms were small, the walls were so thin you could hear the people next door snoring and the front desk recommended a restaurant nearby that was closed. When we came back from the closed restaurant, the on site restaurant closed their kitchen at 8:30 pm. So we asked if there was anywhere else to eat and drove back into town for another closed restaurant. So I guess you should bring your own food here if you want anything after 8:30. Our room overlooked a gravel parking lot, but at least the parking was free. The room was clean and the shower worked. The tv was small and there is no cell cellphone reception on property, please use WiFi. The check in staff was nice and apologized that the spa was closed. The rest of the staff was not pleasant, chatting with each other while people stood in line. I would never ever come back here.

Away day event : Concept Eye Clinic I can not recommend Cotswolds Hotel and spa highly enough, I organise away day events throughout England, Wales and Scotland for all our practices and have to say this venue rates the highest. From the first contact with Jules and the event organising team the booking and organisation of the event was seamless. On arrival for our overnight stay prior to the event we were greeted by the excellent reception team , allocated our rooms. Our rooms were excellent , spacious , luxurious and overlooking the golf course. Dinner served in the terrace restaurant looked after by the amazing team in the restaurant , smiling, happy and nothing too much trouble. Our away day event well what can I say , from beginning to end we were looked after by the amazing Suzanne who worked tirelessly all day to make sure the room and facilities were set up by early morning. Suzanne kept us all topped up with refreshments, biscuits, cakes, jars of sweets, fruit . Only downside is I think we have all gained a stone in weight overnight . Lunch was amazing definitely the best any hotel has provided for us. A message for the General Manager of the hotel in our opinion you have an amazing team who deserve recognition for all their hard work. We look forward to returning in the future to Cotswolds Hotel and Spa , Thank you so much to everyone, Kindest regards Sandra Arkle Concept Eye Clinic

Chicken chow mein was disappointing, dry noodles and little chicken. Have had good meals here before. Cash only is a bit old fashioned. Friendly service.

Food slightly over priced for the quality, but my biggest gripe is the extortionate prices they charge for drinks. How can they warrant charging nearly £7 for a pint of peroni and nearly £5 for a bacardi, that means they are getting about £130.00 for a £20 bottle, total rip off, would never go again

We love The Fleece and lunch here is always a joy. We ordered the Wild Venison Loin and a vegan cottage pie. The Venison was gray and over cooked so we sent it back and it was replaced by a moist and succulent loin but it was 15 minutes apart so we ate seperately which was hugely disappointing. Our South African waitress was outstanding but she went off shift which left us searching for someone to pay the bill. We'd gone with the intention of using our £25 off 2025 voucher but we'd waited so long and eaten seperately that we skipped pudding which meant that we didn't qualify for the voucher which was disappointing. We love The Fleece but the past couple of times it's missed the mark....
