Cute little place that serves lots of everything really at very respectable prices in this day and age Was there appox 7:20AM and having a nice lady to speak to after a 16 hour shift was a lovely way to start my day after work

Six of us dropped into this cafe for a late morning coffee. No problem even though we weren’t after a cooked breakfast. Good tea and coffee enjoyed by the group. I had a fruit scone which was fantastic. My wife had a chocolate chip cookie which she described as delicious. Both were made in house. Staff friendly. Only sorry I didn’t try the breakfast which I suspect would have been a worthwhile experience.

Good, greasy spoon style breakfast- let down by the surly staff and unwelcoming atmosphere. Stood at counter to order takeaway- don't mind waiting while it's busy (which it wasn't) but a simple acknowledgement/ common courtesy such as 'hi, we'll be with you in a minute' wouldn't be too difficult, would it? Or cracking a smile while you're at it! You really do get the feeling they don't like you bothering them, ridiculous behaviour. The guy cooking the breakfast wasn't as bad as the young lass and older woman. Black pudding is cut too thin, like 0.5cm width if that. And they gave me wholemeal toast which I don't like, nor did I ask for. So that got left. Everything else was fine. Coffee was good. Decent value. Just miserable customer service - you need to sort it out.

Had a great full English breakfast which was a huge portion served quickly by friendly staff and set me up for a dog walk along the river, and it's dog friendly - he enjoyed his sausage too.

Visited today. Entered and stood at the counter perusing the menu. Enquired about coffees but did not get a chance to enquire about food as was abruptly informed by a rather grumpy looking lady 'this is a breakfast cafe, I will have to sit you at those seats over there as these tables are for people ordering breakfast'. Confusingly, there were 3 or 4 empty tables at the time and nobody else waiting so I'm not sure which customers we were preventing from enjoying breakfast! We informed her, 'no problem, we'll enjoy breakfast elsewhere'. Clearly the hostess is not a morning person so it is a shame she is working in a 'breakfast cafe'....

Visited here for breakfast on our last morning of a short trip to Newcastle. I had the Queen breakfast and my wife had the Veggie breakfast. Both were amazingly good value and were served piping hot accompanied by tea and coffee. Thoroughly recommended with great, friendly staff but advise that you arrive early to make sure of a table.

If you want a really tasty full english, accompanied by a tasty beverage at a very reasonable price, this is the place for you. Friendly staff, no rush easy pace. Defo 5*.

Food was poor, cold eggs served on cold toast, made worse by rude and slack waitress. Leaned across our table to get cutlery without warning or apology, then made a huge fuss pretending to not be able to get past me whilst I was getting something from my bag. A normal and courteous person would have asked or seen there was a gap big enough for an average sized person to get through - instead, waitress huffed and puffed and tapped her foot in irritation. Won't revisit as a result of rude staff.

Visited No 1 Queen Street many times for sandwiches and a good old full English breakfast! Will visit many times again as you get what you pay for and not too pricey.

Great breakfast options, well cooked, lovely high Victorian ceilings, a destination in itself. Good selection of drinks. Friendly staff.

We were lucky to get a table as it's a popular place. You have to go to the counter to order your food. I had a breakfast muffin and my friend had a small English breakfast and another friend had poached eggs on toast. The poached eggs were fine but the fried eggs were rather hard - perhaps we were unlucky! Anyway it's great value for money and popular with locals. We've been here before and I'd go again.

First visited this cafe for breakfast over 15 years ago and the high standards of good tasty simple food has been maintained. We went in for breakfast and although there were notices saying a reduced menu was available, there was still a wide variety of food to choose from. Great service, excellent breakfast rolls and a good price in this cafe. Both the layout and service were of a different age in a positive way. Great place between Bigg Market and the quayside. Go try it when in Newcastle.

Wandered the streets and came across this place. Great friendly staff and a large menu. Opted for various filled rolls, sandwiches and paninis. Delivered to our table by a really friendly and chatty waitress. Tasty food as well

Visited the cafe two days in a row whilst in Newcastle on business. The ‘Bellybuster’ is the best breakfast in the town, large portions for a very generous price. Would recommend to anyone visiting the town for any purpose, will be visiting once more when I return. Staff are incredibly friendly too! 5 stars from me.

We had to queue as this is a small inside space although there are a few tables outside but it was well worth the wait. A belly buster was six quid and a full English was less than five. Lovely tea and lovely toast. They were very busy but very accommodating. Lovely food.

We called into this café on our way to The Great Northern Museum. We ordered two coffees at the counter, but when we came to pay, we were told that cash was not accepted. This is a practice that we find quite deplorable so we left. It turned out well for us, because there was a café a few doors down which was very good and accepts cash.

Usé este lugar un par de veces para el desayuno, ya que era central y el desayuno es barato como papas fritas y también bebidas recargables. personal amable y excelentes vistas

Had high hopes for brunch at Eve but was a bit disappointed. We were seated straight away by a friendly young man. Probably sat for about 15-20 minutes without anyone approaching us for our order. I managed to get the hosts attention and he took the order for us. Seemed like there was a lot of staff but most of them lingered round the bar area. Saying that, their uniforms were odd, some were dressed in jeans/tshirts/aprons but none of them co ordinated so not always easy to identify who worked there and who didn’t. Pancakes were £11, were quite a small portion so not enough to fill you up. The live music was good but I’m not really sure it suited the vibe.
