No 32 in Brighton and Hove

Such a lovely place to eat, when we went it was quiet. The staff were very attentive and we had excellent service from Rosa. Food was really good and plenty of it. I would highly recommend and hope to be back. To the manager, keep on doing what you’re doing - my gin glass was fab, I was so surprised.

On March 3rd, we had lunch at the Sunday roast. The hall was very empty, but there was a very long wait for lunch, it was served barely warm, and there was only fat on the bottom, the food was very oily/greasy. 8 years ago it was a great restaurant, now I don't recommend going there.

Had a roast dinner over cooked so they cooke again and went home with the trots . All for 50 pounds so the moral of the story don’t eat here

The restaurant is huge !!! Must be great to have a party or family gathering here. We love the prawns and fried squid. However the bread I ordered was a bit burnt. The roast chicken my fried order was large portions, will suggest to share w two ppl. The fries was super good !!! Will come back for that fries again. Hello im from Brighton and yesterday on 16.02.24 I was in NO32 Was nice but the security was too rude with the people! Should to people i was so shocked how they talked with the guest! The staff I think they all was new ! They was like never working this job!

HAD a great time celebrating my friend’s birthday. The service is very good and the food also very great. It is very spacious and good to celebrations.

First time eating here after walking past for years. Made a late Saturday night booking and was able to get a table. Food was surprisingly good. Chicken was moist and not dry. Chips were fantastic. Basic but so many places get it wrong. Good service too.

Cold rainy day, shops crowded with pre Christmas shoppers and we just wanted a good meal in a relaxed atmosphere. We found it at 32 Duke Street. Excellent carvery lunch with superbly cooked vegetables and meat. Cheered us up and made our day. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great place to have a nice lunch. We got 4 little plates to share between the 2 of us. When I told them it was my birthday they gave me a glass of prosecco! How nice was that! Highly recommended.

A good spot for brunch in central Brighton - it's much bigger than you'd think on the outside so plenty of space for big groups. Try nab a spot on the upstairs balcony for ambience!

I was a regular customer before the close for a makeover.. I came back for the first time in a while. At the bar I got greeted by a bartender called Alex(?) he was a fast and polite server, he also recommended patron rather than the standard house tequila... which I chose, (meaning I spent a few extra pounds, which I didn't mind) I saw a man who was clearly the manager. (I have worked in hospitality venues for years, and could see that he was correcting people/in charge)... I went to express that the person who served me was great at their job, and to be honest I got dismissed. I understand that managing a busy venue, you don't having time for general chit chat, but from what I saw, the staff aren't being properly appriectiated. Either change your team if you don't think they're doing a good job, or train them to work the way you would prefer.

Was looking for somewhere for Sunday roast and came across no.32. The food was really good. I had a starter and then the roast beef. There was so much food! The cauliflower cheese was very cheesy too. The staff team were very friendly and service was great. Would definitely go again, when I return to Brighton.

Sunday lunch for one, did the job. Place was empty when I arrived and had two more tables when I left, which struck me as odd for a sunny Sunday afternoon. Service was fine. Scallops were OK, as was roast beef (roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, red cabbage, green beans, savoy cabbage, Yorkshire, and * some * gravy - note they offer more gravy as a charged side). Cauliflower cheese was truly bizarre, contained tiny florets which weren't even forkable - basically served as a 4.50 bowl of sauce - I left it. Space seems pretty enough but too big. Seemed clean but the table menus were really dogeared which makes one wonder. Service and charge were fine

This is a nice looking venue, shame it wasn't very busy when we were there, its £5 to get in, and all the tables are roped off so no where to get a drink and sit down. Considering it was so empty I'm not sure why we couldn't use the many empty tables. Will give it another go through as the bar staff and security are very friendly and welcoming.

Avoid this place at all costs. I am visiting Brighton from London today and had a table booked for this evening, I have just had a call to tell me my reservation is cancelled as the restaurant is not opened. The menu has a wide range of interesting dishes which caters for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. The staff were friendly and the service was good.

So although there was only one other couple eating I have to say the 'tempura' fish & chips we ordered was delicious & the waitress serving us was excellent. I'm hoping that this place was only quiet because we were eating early in evening as I would be more than happy to visit again when in Brighton.

We ate at No32 last night to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. Crystal, our waitress, was wonderful: friendly, professional, and really helpful. In fact, the whole team made us all feel welcome. The food was excellent, along with a great choice of drinks. Thanks for making Jessica's birthday meal so lovely, Crystal. We look forward to coming back when we visit Brighton again.

Nice and cosy or quiet in these busy times out in the street with a good range of food and drink options here, great stuff to have a brunch menu that can be a rally good meal substitute for anything. Have been once before though a while ago, but planning on coming again too.

As a roast dinner stalker……. We have had roast dinners all over the country in every different kind of surrounding at every different level of culinary experience. We had no doubt,and wasted no time, in agreeing that the roast dinner served (one chicken and one beef) was by far the best we had sampled anywhere. Even the absence of roasted spuds (No 32 serve skin on baby potatoes) did not sway our opinion. The sweetened veg, perfectly cooked meat and the bone marrow gravy set a new high bar for me and my partner. The service, the surroundings and the price were all a brilliant addition and supplemented a perfect dinner.

Sunday roast beef was just out of this world we really enjoyed it. Gravy was delicious and only £19!! 🤤 will defo come again

I have often travelled to Brighton with my partner to no32 when we want good night life as we have always enjoyed the atmosphere and staff… due to past experience and my dear friend getting married I decided to throw her hen party at no32 and book a VIP table. This was a HUGE let down as on arrival nothing was prepared, the table was tiny and for the £250 we had to pay we felt we did not get our moneys worth. Nobody had bothered to make my friend feel welcome a young member of staff actually wished her happy birthday she had paid no attention and when complaining she argued back!! I had then kindly approached the manager/owner who was anything but accommodating, did not try and make the situation better he shrugged his shoulders and simply didn’t care. Terrible service and terrible ‘vip table’ After this Experience myself and others will not be returning!!

We were really looking forward to going to this restaurant. It started ok with drinks. We ordered the tapas, this is where it went wrong. When the food came out it was l Ike warm and tasteless. We had the pork belly, it was mostly fat. We ordered olives that never turned up, but was put on the bill. Needless to say we didn’t pay the service charge. We won’t be returning.

We reserved a table here for brunch on 15/4/2023 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were welcomed by a lovely young girl who seats us promptly and brought us water to the table and took our drink orders, We waiting a long time for our drinks to arrive and then ordered food. We waited an hour for our food to arrive and when it did it was cold and pretty tasteless. One of our friends food hadn’t even arrived before 2 of us had finished. The eggs Benedict/ florentine/ royale (ordered by 3 of us) was really bland and not very enjoyable. The full English (ordered by 2) was cold, and arrived with 3 things missing. When these things were brought over separately over the space of about 10 minutes all of us had finished our food. When we asked to speak to a manager we were told there was no manager there because he was at the club part of the restaurant so doesn’t work the mornings, which is fair enough but maybe time to get an assistant manager! Such a shame because it’s a really beautiful venue and we had high expectations from this place! The staff that were there were all very kind and apologetic but the overall experience was pretty dire and unfortunately we won’t be returning, better off going to Wetherspoons!!!

We came to NO32 for a hen do. I booked them well in advance as it was a group of 23 of us!!! Finding a place in Brighton to cater for that many people was difficult, but the second I got a response from Ali at NO32 I knew that my luck had changed. From the off set it was easy. They reserved us the arches (which is out of the way from the main restaurant and made it feel so private for our party), they have a fantastic set menu, quick communication from Ali, and every single one of my questions were answered within 12 hours. Every single person that I dealt with at NO32 was brilliant. They were all so helpful, friendly and professional. The chefs- We were all blown away by the food. It was so delicious! To cater for a group of 23 and every single plate come out hot, perfectly served up and delicious...Impressed is an understatement! We especially loved the starters (and the brides pudding was our favourite also) The bar staff- Firstly, I would like to apologise to them for the amount of cocktails we all ordered, but it really is a compliment to them for how delicious they were. The boys behind the bar were SO friendly and every single cocktail they made was spot on. Their service was quick, and they made an effort with each and every one of us to chat and make it a fun experience. And lastly, lovely Emily (our waitress)- what an absolute dream! She made the experience so magical for us all. Her kindness and friendly manner made the whole afternoon perfect. She helped to kick off the day in such a fun and positive way, and we will all remember her every time we think of the hen do. She was brilliant! She made us all feel so comfortable, to the point that we felt like we were round her house having dinner. She is incredible, and is a true asset to NO32! Overall the team handled the whole afternoon with panache. Their professionalism and kindness will always be remembered, and I will recommend NO32 to everyone from now on. Thank you all for making the day so special!!!

My son bought me here on the off chance for a Mother’s Day lunch and we not disappointed. The staff were very friendly. The food was amazing! We both had the roasts which were just the right portion size and the meat was perfect. I had belly pork and my knife just melts the meat. My son had the beef rib and it was perfect. Not rushed sitting. Just the right attention by the staff. Background music perfect for a Sunday afternoon. Would definitely recommend and come back. Thank you.

Me and my mum always go to No32 in Brighton when we have a big shopping trip and they never disappoint! This time we went however, the staff went above and beyond to make our visit as fabulous as possible! The waitress was so kind and friendly and made us feel really special. The best bit of our lunch tho was the drinkies!! The barman-who’s name is Ollie, was one of the best bar staff I have ever met. His Aperol Spritz’s were by far the best we have ever tasted-even better than ones I have had in top notch restaurants in London! We even had 4 each because they were so tasty!! 5 stars for them all 🌟

Scallops disgusting with inedible morcilla. Extremely overpriced. It is not a fancy restaurant even though they charge like it, the food is below average. We complained about food but were still charged the 12.5%. After we paid another waitress came over to try get us to pay again. We felt sick afterwards.

We came for a friend's 30th so had the vip area that we had to share due to a mess up in bookings and then there was a mess up with the drinks we had paid for but overall a good night. The vip table is a bit big as of it was slimmer we would be able to dance in it more.

I came here as a birthday treat from my boyfriend. I had never attended here before and was a bit nervous if I was underdressed while wearing casual clothes. However to my surprise we were offered such a warm welcome by staff and has a nice choice of seating in a space upstairs at a small intimate table overlooking downstairs. We had a waitress called Emily, who I must say was one of the most attentive, polite, and courteous staff. I was so impressed by her recommendations in the menu and was very pleased with what I chose which was the pan fried cod with parsley sauce. It was cooked to perfection and the sauce was perfectly made and enough portion wise. My partner has the beer battered cod and chips. Which I also stole some of that too haha. Music was after about 9.30pm which I will happily join in another evening as the vibe was very chilled and classy. Another shout out to Emily!!!

What an unfriendly unhelpful cold place. Food was served cold, stone cold returned it.. my wife’s burger was inedible. 4 of us £180 I would have resented paying 50% of that. I told the waitress she was speaking to someone at the bar who kept on looking over at us but did he come to ask us the problem or try to resolve ? NO First and last visit for us.

Went there on a Saturday night with some friends DS. Found a quiet table to sit at. A group of 20 yr old lads clearly on a stag do come and take over our table saying it’s theirs because they reserved the one next to it. We ask the bouncer to mediate but he does nothing to help. I got pushed by one of these pathetic excuses for a man and me and my friends are forced to leave. Again security staff do nothing to protect calm paying guests. Won’t be going back. It’s worse than West street at protecting female guests. Terrible venue!

Quite unexpectedly, realised we are seated at a place that we nearly ate at 21 years ago to the week...David proposed to me then, on a beach and we were set to have a lovely meal. The restaurant was so busy that we left after the service and champagne failed to materialise...however, this time round a chance drop in - service at Bar 32 in Brighton Lanes made good - special thanks to Emily our gorgeous waitress.

I danced here until the early morning on a reunion with some uni mates. Atmosphere was great and we enjoyed our time. Also, I'm very grateful to the nice employee who finished his shift at 3am+ and still had the patience to return my coat to me that I'd assumed I had lost for good. Cheers buddy!

Best service in Brighton. My boyfriend and I have been 3 times since moving here 2 weeks ago and will definitely keep returning. The food is great and the prices are reasonable but what really makes this place great is the staff. Every single person we've dealt with on each visit has been so kind and friendly. We recently had an issue with our Irish card not going through and they were so patient with us while we got it sorted. Highly recommend. 10/10 ⭐

Miso ribs - perfect Burger - bun was a little bit over toasted, but everyone has their preferences, I would just ask for it to be toasted a bit lighter next time. Good, friendly and attentive staff. Clean toilets @ 21.00 on a Friday night. Service felt like the right pace, allowing for table conversation without feeling rushed. I came here specifically as i saw online that they did a falafel dish but on arrival was told that the menu i saw online was their old menu not the current one. I was not too impressed by the veggie options on their new menu 😕 All of the staff were so kind and welcoming 😄! I ordered the mango colada virgin cocktail which tasted lovely! I also had the aubergine starter which was a little disappointing taste wise and price wise. I think I would only come back again for drinks. I would not really recommend this place to vegetarians & vegans for food as the menu is very seafood & meat based. I came with my omnivore friend who ordered the seabass and she enjoyed it!

Celebrated my birthday with 24 of my friends and family. The staff at No 32 accommodated all our requests and the service along with all the arrangements was great! Would definitely recommend for a large group. We were seated upstairs and didn't have any other guests booked on the tables upstairs in the afternoon, which gave us the privacy for my celebration! The restaurant communicated with me throughout the planning period, and delivered brilliantly on the day.
