Popped in for a coffee and a bite to eat on Monday.Had a very nice coffee and a fabulous cake, but was utterly shocked at their dog policy in the cafe.On the very next table to us was a couple who put their dog on their lap while there was food on the table, and twice the dog tried to go for it,eventually giving up and resting his head and paws on the table. Not one of the FOUR members of staff in the canteen area said a thing.Awful dribbling on a lunch table

A wonderful little café in a lifestyle shop, deep in the glorious Devon countryside. After browsing and hopefully a spend, pop in for an excellent coffee and melt in the mouth cakes. Some jolly good looking savouries too. Delightful crew. Doggy friendly. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

We've been to the store before for a browse & a coffee, so thought we'd try lunch after a nearby walk. The menu is short but interesting and we had no trouble deciding on 2 x bacon brioche for the kiddies and 2 x spinach & watercress soup (one with sourdough and one with cheese scone). We didn't have to wait long & all absolutely delicious - big servings and no holding back on anything (ie. lots of bacon and large slices of butter for the breads). The cafe has a great feel - I love using the Nkuku crockery/cutlery, and the staff were welcoming and efficient. Great coffee too, and a solid selection of very good sweet treats for afterwards!

We spent a lot of money £2500 plus. To be treated rudely, arrogantly by a supercilious woman on cafe till called Bea. Very disappointing. It’ll make me think twice before coming to cafe again

We tried this place for coffee and the flat whites did not disappoint! so good we came back the next day for another. We ordered the salmon and potato rosti and bacon roll both times we visited. Just delicious. One comment would be that the presentation of the salmon dish was slightly lackluster on the second visit with half the amount of pea shoot garnish.

We have passed Nkuku many times on the way to / from Totnes and decided to just call in. What a find and well worth the time to stop. We had coffees with a Portuguese Custard Tart (Pasteis de Nata) and a Cheese Scone. Delicious! the tart pastry was light and flaky, the scone served warm was a delight. Service was friendly and efficient There is a lovely outside courtyard you can choose or inside pending on the weather.

Oh my we saw this place in the Dartmouth Guide during our break. On the way home I thought let’s pull in for a spot of breakfast and a look at their lovely home accessories and furniture. The teens and hubby were a bit disappointed that there was t a full breakfast… Wowszers we all had the bacon brioche. The bun rendered us speechless, bacon was cooked perfectly. Coffee delightful. No full breakfast meant we could also sample the cakes 2 zillionaires, Portuguese tarts were still warm and the baked basque cheesecake just blew me away! All of this, the staff were lovely one looked like a young version of Pink! Plus the shop had some lovely pieces.

What a lovely store and beautiful barn setting. Visiting the store really allows you to get a feel for the brand see how beautiful the items really are. As we visited during our holiday it’s just a shame the store is so far away from where we live! We also stopped for lunch on our visit which was really nice. Love that all of the mugs, cutlery etc is also available to purchase! Our dog was made to feel very welcome in both the store and cafe and was given some treats!

Second visit to nkuku while on holiday; drinks and cakes were both of a high standard and although prices are above average they reflect the quality of the produce & the environment. Blue cheese, fig & honey salad was lovely. We’ll be back!

A very interesting retail stop on the road between Totnes and Kingsbridge. Unusual craft items that you just have to take home. The cafe is pretty good too with great coffee and a large selection of homemade cakes.

Always relatively good coffee but recently price gone up to £3.00 for a flat white! Along with the most minute piece of cake on offer for £3.50! I hinted to the server how measly a portion....no reaction 🙄 Sadly yet another venue struck off my list neighbouring Totnes for ‘rip-off’ prices. (Why do the South Hams think they are so special to command such prices?!!) Thankfully came away with a few nice interior ideas!👍

This place, while being lovely to look at, is only catered for particular people. The drinks are really expensive (almost £3 for a single espresso) and the food is lackluster for what it is. I went with my better half who is vegan, and they only had one vegan option but had ran out of stock completely, so we were resorted to peppermint tea essentially. The girl that served us was super nice and let us know their chai mix had milk powder in (which is something we didn't query so that was lovely of her), but all in all it was rather disappointing. The best thing about coming was the fact that Childish Gambino was playing, which instantly made the visit more enjoyable, but rating the cafe alone with the visit we had, it wasn't too enjoyable. The lady behind who served us our drinks as well said "expresso" as opposed to espresso, which instantly tilted me as well.

Stopped to pick up a cake for my Niece after school as it’s easy to park - what a mistake. Two small cakes - one mango flapjack and a Portuguese custard tart £7 - complete rip off. Should have gone to the bakery in Totnes who sell amazing Portuguese tarts for about 85p and dealt with the parking!

Stopped by for a coffee today; sorry, very disappointed !! Ordered a single shot latte, and it was really wishy washy . Usually have my coffee at either the Hairy Barista, or the Curator, in Totnes, and they knock spots off Nkuku ! However, the shop is magnificent, though the only thing I could afford was the coffee !

We came here for lunch with a friend. It was a sunny afternoon and we were able to sit in a warm courtyard. The food was outstanding. The service was efficient. We had no complaints at all. Afterwards, we looked around plenty of interesting housey things for sale in the shop.

Yummy coffee and cake, the store is a little too rustic for me, but there were a few cute things I like. Def worth a trip for the food!

Popped in here again as the coffee in the cafe is very good with a selection of home made cakes to enjoy. Plenty to browse in the shop and you will probably find something to buy that you cannot live without. Take care turning into and out of the entrance as the main road is a fast one with limited visibility.

Car broke down on the Axminster bypass: when fixed I had lost the will to drive another 4 hours so checked into the George Inn. In the middle of an outrageously good Halloween party, the staff were never the less attentive, sympathetic and checked me in quickly. Recently refurbished, the hotel is really and very well furnished and decorated - super comfortable, super clean, super cozy. It’s a little gem, with parking - great value too!

We stopped at the cafe for a coffee and to warm up and decided to have lunch. I had the all day small breakfast which was excellent, the bacon was really tasty and everything was cooked perfectly, not greasy at all. My wife had the Tuna melt panini which she said was the most delicious food she had on holiday in Devon. The service was friendly and quick and everything was spotless.

This is the pub we always go to when holidaying in Exmouth. Good food, pleasant staff. Only downside is it can be a bit noisy sometimes.

We visited on a bright November afternoon, walking in, we were greeted by a lady behind the bar wearing a coat! It was cold in the pub and we were shivering by the end of our visit. The pub is light and bright and well decorated. Beer is well kept but over £5.50 a pint, diet coke is £2.50 a can! We did go back to eat on another afternoon, cold again, bar lady in her coat! The food is mediocre to say the least, if you like microwaved food, tinned new potatoes and instant mash you will enjoy it, we ate it because we were hungry but gourmet it ain't! The lamb shank swimming in gravy with peas and instant mash at £18.95 is way over priced. They are missing a trick here, if they served fresh food, they could corner the market with the nearby caravan park. Disappointing.
