Nirvana Bar in City of London, Westminster

My wife and I stopped in for cocktails on a Saturday afternoon. We were the only people in the bar and there was no background music or atmosphere, which wasn’t helped by some awful programme on Channel 5 playing on the TV (Police Interceptors/Can’t Pay We’ll Take It Away/Slum Landlords etc.) The bar staff were chatting loudly and filling up the ice. The cocktails tasted terrible, like they were made with cheap spirits. We left them unfinished and moved on.

We were staying in the hotel and decided to go for a cocktail before dinner. We were greeted by a man in a suit behind the bar which made us feel very unwelcome. My girlfriend asked to see a cocktail menu and the gentleman replied “ we don’t have one just tell me what you want”, a little baffled she ordered a daiquiri and I had a cosmopolitan. The cocktails were £25 which I would be happy to pay but not in this place. The gentleman behind the bar was leaning against the bar on his phone, then another man came in and had 2 full blown conversation on his phone behind the bar, not exactly the 5 star atmosphere or service you’d expect for a bar affiliated with the 5 star hotel... once we finished our cocktails there wasn’t even a thank you or goodbye... very disappointing we will not return! Just to note this was before covid but wouldn’t leave me be the date

Nos alojamos en el hotel y decidimos ir a tomar un cóctel antes de cenar. Nos recibió un hombre con un traje detrás del bar que nos hizo sentir muy incómodos. Mi novia pidió ver un menú de cócteles y el caballero respondió: "No tenemos uno, solo dime lo que quieres", un poco desconcertada, me pidió un daiquiri y yo tenía un cosmopolita. Los cócteles eran 25 que estaría feliz de pagar pero no en este lugar. El caballero que estaba detrás de la barra estaba apoyado contra la barra de su teléfono, luego entró otro hombre y tuvo dos conversaciones completas en su teléfono detrás de la barra, no exactamente la atmósfera o el servicio de 5 estrellas que esperaría para un bar afiliado a la barra. Hotel 5 estrellas. . . Una vez que terminamos nuestros cócteles, ni siquiera hubo un agradecimiento o un adiós. . . Muy decepcionante no volveremos!

Una buena ubicación, una buena selección de bebidas, no demasiado caro, pero un ambiente y un servicio tan pobre. ¡El barman es más como un carnicero! ! casi rompe el vidrio cuando pedimos una segunda ronda. . tan enojado y tan mala actitud, me hace sentir como si estuviera en el lugar equivocado todo el tiempo. . .

Mi marido y yo fuimos aquí antes de tener una comida en la cocina el nirvana. Nos vestidos bien y me reallyl tenemos ganas de disfrutar de unos cócteles. Al entrar en el bar no podía ignorar las dos enormes TV en la pared, uno de los cuales fue un secreto de victoria pasarela de lencería, acompañados por ver artista pop. Este era muy ruidoso (música basura pop y con buen humor) y entrometido (mujeres caminando arriba y abajo en sus pantalones), decidimos sentarse lejos de la TV y pedimos algo de beber. El hombre del bar era muy cortés, y él hizo una muy buena, así que es en mojhito de ninguna manera fue afectado una crítica de él, pero nuestra experiencia por la intrusión de televisión. Obviamente mi marido (que es un heterosexual masculino) distraída por mujeres ligeras de revestida t e (no culpar a él) y el de Justin Bieber (o Timberlake o quien era la persona que era pop) en la pasarela estaba cantando tan alto. La verdad es que no pudimos oír hablar a nosotros mismos y, básicamente, en general en nuestra experiencia. Otras personas en el bar a la izquierda y luego nos dejaron solos, no personas = no hay ambiente. La otra televisión tenía en Wimbledon con el sonido se apagaba. Deberíamos haber visto la televisión y no se detuvo a tomar una copa pero es una maravillosa cosa hindsigth! Si voy a pagar 14 libras un pop para una bebida, la próxima vez me voy a asegurar de que estoy más exigentes sobre mi entorno y no aquí!

We went last night for a birthday drink with my cousin and her husband. The first thing we noticed was a giant television screen showing some kind of fashion? show. Tried to sit where the screen wasn't visible or audible to us....difficult! To be fair the waitress of just two days did offer to ask the manager if it could be turned off. The bar was empty save us and two other people. The Martini Cocktail was adequate, the complimentary nuts were certainly not among the best snack any of us have had in a cocktail bar. We would like to have lingered longer and to have eaten some bar snacks but the TV and lack of atmosphere, I'm afraid, simply didn't cut the mustard for any of us, so we left, unlikely to return.

With a bar tender that could not make a Gin fizz, and when my Gin and Tonic was brought over he had poured all the tonic into my Gin. It was replaced once I had asked for my Tonic to be delivered separately. The bar itself is not to a high standard and with 2 television screens showing random programmes, a fashion show and ice age ??? And we was never asked if we wanted another drink , which I then had to go and get my bill. All in all I felt it was a lack lustre approach and really disappointing. If we come back to nirvana kitchen I would not go to the bar.

Pretty good drinks menu and a large choice of spirits. They do have quiet a unique take on the classic mojito!

Was early for our dinner reservations so we had pre dinner drinks here, we both had gin and tonics, and yes they were served in a lovely glasses and had lots of beautifully presented cucumber, Hendricks and fever tree tonic, but it did not taste as good as the one we had earlier in a pub off of Oxford St, and I'm not sure why, bartender was a bit slow at mixing drinks, but he was polite and well presented. A nice bar nicely decorated a mixture of seating, expensive, for the two drinks it was £30

I visited last night with my friend for cocktails. We ended up eating too, food a bit pricy for the portion sizes, but nice. The best thing about this place, apart from the warm welcome, stylish but relaxing surrounds is the staff. Marco makes great cocktails and is so friendly and very helpful, so too the lovely waitress (didn't get her name). Will visit again.

I stayed at the Montcalm and just wanted to have a quick bite in the bar before going to sleep. I ended up having four different meals from the bar menu - everything from the lamb racks, the tempura and the mini burgers where really really tasty. Next time I have to try the "real" restaurant instead of only the bar. Same kitchen and the same chef - I can see my self enjoying a really great dinner! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Great place to go and have awasome coctails in the bar and dinner in the Nirvana restaurant, the food is fresh and tasty, great service friendly staff, fantastic bar great ambiance recommend to everyone

They have very tasty cocktails and strong. I liked that the staff explained us about what champagne and wines they have because we've been undecided about the taste so they were very friendly and hospitable with me and my friends. I really recommend this bar !!I've been there few times.

We were greeted by very friendly staff who took our orders and could recommend different cocktails and wines. The atmosphere was formal yet relaxed and I could definitely imagine myself coming back here in the future.

Really enjoyed all six courses of the meal. And bottle of prosecco a bonus. Loved the food. Especially silly the salmon. Atanas was our waiter. Service was excellent. Thank you
