Everything took so long to arrive - even the drinks. Food arrived with huge intervals which meant we could not eat together. I’ve had drinks at the Mitre many times but would not now recommend it for food/dining

What a great spot staffed by friendly and positive people. My beer was Exactly what I wanted and my fish & chips were spot on! Perfect meal for my last night in London. I’m not sure if it was Mariah or Ivy that offered me a tour of the downstairs area when I asked about the historic nature of the pub. I am so appreciative that I was able to see the speakeasy and the other rooms downstairs. Thanks again for making me feel welcome!

Stopped in for dinner. My husband ordered the Ox cheek stew. It was scrumptious. I wish I took a picture of it. Lovely flavor. I tasted some and could really taste the sage. I ordered the Cornish mussels. They were served with a rich creamy buttery sauce.

Small pub with a good menu. Burger and fish/chips were excellent. We went to watch England play a Euro game. Beer selection was not extensive. Order your foodand beverages at the bar. The only complaint I have is they had the game audio blasting, but the speakers were not synced so it was echoing so much you couldn't understand what they were saying. Overall though a fun pub with good food in a great location.

Popped in for their Sunday dinner. It was a incredible feast that we won't soon forget. The most flavorful, tender and juicy lemon-thyme chicken with various vegetables prepared with a little extra touch and Yorkshire pudding, all nesting in a delicious gravy. Very reasonably priced and enough for two meals with a take away box.

What a wonderful pub with such great staff and a lovely landlady! The food is exceptional as is the Guinness! Bex is a credit to the pub and clearly makes locals and tourists feel at home.

Went with my parents. Had to service my experience including after sitting, getting up to get menus, getting up to place order, getting up for tiny glasses of water to pour myself which everyone needed refilled three times which I also did, getting up to remind the “server” of the dessert they forgot to serve, getting up to pay. The irony is, they charge 12.5% service fee!! For me doing the service! The other thing I would advise is not to sit at any of the tables near their dishwashing area, which is right at the bar. It was so loud and such a racket that my parents and I couldn’t even have a conversation over dinner. It was really annoying and frustrating.

Well, what can I say about this gem of a public house? The staff are the loveliest of people, service was quick and refined.the food, nothing but delightful. The crab spring rolls remind me of my beachfront second home in Cornwall. And the burgers? Large enough to satisfy the hungriest of customers who have been gallivanting the scenic Hyde Park for a Sunday stroll. For you beer lovers there's a wide selection. It is obvious to me the management run this place well. This was the bank holiday afternoon I needed. I'll be returning to this fine institution. Regards, Lord B. McAllister

Food was delicious, wine good. Lovely cosy pub with fire , day was freezing and the fire was perfect. Whole experience let down by barman lack of personality, never greeted us, had to keep asking him to help ie never acknowledged I was standing there when waiting to order food, tried again when placing ordering dessert again had to call him bar was empty .Felt I was somehow annoying him. Never wished us goodbye when leaving just stood behind the bar. Put us off returning tbh. Shame cos all else was great. Name on receipt Naj.

Pub tipico Londinese con più di un secolo di storia alle spalle. Accoglienza veloce e cordiale così come la sistemazione. Locale accogliente, caldo, cibo e birra all’altezza della situazione. Prezzi un po’ sopra la media per la tipologia di ambiente e servizio. Comunque consigliato.

Delicious, locally sourced dishes with an original twist: mackerel pâté and fennel-pickled cucumber paired with Samphire (seagrass). With a view of the fire place, we used the pub’s cards game (kids against maturity) in a friendly and casual atmosphere, with contemporary and late eighties hits. Had a blast.

We came across this hidden gem by chance. The staff were very welcoming and the cocktails were delicious. It is nice local pub where you can chat and socialise.

We went here expecting to get an early evening couple of pints of Real Ale. There was the row of hand pumps, five in number, three of which had the labels turned round as the pub had run out of bitter. There were two other ales which were "on" but high alcohol. Our object was to enjoy a drink and a conversation not to get drunk. A keg alternative was ordered but shockingly expensive. The barman said the ordinary bitter is very popular, so it sells out. One would think the manager might arrange things better.

Food arrived. Two dishes lukewarm, roast cold. Only the chips were hot. Sent food back and had a 15 minute wait for it to return, by which time the chops were cold. Then staff attempted to charge us for a drink we hadnt had. Still got charged full price. Won’t be going back.

Cosy, friendly, amazing staff! Arranged to meet my family here on my birthday before we headed across to winter wonderland. The staff were welcoming and friendly and it was very festive in there. I wish we had longer to spend as the food looked amazing. Will be visiting again when I’m in the area xx

This is a wonderful pub with a lively atmosphere. Great food and drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful. We went with a group for Sunday lunch and it was done so well. Everyone loved their roasts and burgers. Would highly recommend.

Pretty good fare, impressive that the waitress remembered our complex order without issue. Salad was overdressed, but the fish and chips were solid.

Served by a lovely young lady called Teaghan, service was immaculate and drinks were on point! Would definitely visit again, defo want to try the food next time !

Came in for lunch with my dogs after a walk and had an amazing lunch and was welcomed with open arms, the dogs even got their very own treats courtesy of the pub :) a very nice place to visit after a walk in Hyde Park :)

A wet Sunday and a local pub beckoned. Tucked away off The Bayswater Road is The Mitre, a Young's pub, with a most wonderful interior. All I wanted was a Sunday Roast and they came up trumps. Not a "Gastro" pub it doesn't need to be one. Warm greeting from the staff, quick service and oh so traditional. And extra gravy to boot...Thank you Young's for keeping it simply perfect.

My SIL and I called in to The Mitre en route to Paddington after a day in London. We both had the steak pie with mash and cabbage which was absolutely delicious. Service was prompt and friendly and would thoroughly recommend.

We have eaten here on past visits to London and the food was always good. Mariah was our server this visit. She was quick, efficient but not hovering over us. The food, as always, was tasty. We had the steak and Guinness pie and the sausages and mash potatoes. We’ll be back!
