Reubens in City of London, Westminster

This place is an amazing addition to baker Street. The food is fresh and tasty, the service is quick and the atmosphere is fun and light. A massive upgrade to the street.

Delicious, varied, meticulous, fresh food

Okay not great. Latkes great, the salt beef croquets were vile. 6 months on revisited - second chance - dry salt beef and non-closing front door - freezing cold - surely spending £50 would be sensible- but don’t bother because we won’t be returning.

Went for the first time today,as wanted to try the salt beef sandwich (which through their instagram page seems double portion & delicious),however I truly believe that it was way too expensive for the portion & the quality that they offer ! We ordered 2 salt beef sandwiches (not same size ,like in New York ) 1 small bowl tabouleh salat ,one potion chips (most of them were not good ) and a large sparkling water & paid like 50pounds. I searched for other places afterwards around with salt beef sandwiches & same concept of atmosphere & the prices are almost half price lower.

Without a doubt the most expensive restaurant on Baker St if you are looking for value for money. You can get a cup of soup and coffee for 15 GBP. Service is all over the place and clearly this establishment is stuck in 1987, but I kind of love it, if I had the money.

The menu choice, the food was top notch and did not disappoint. Salt beef platter was enormous. I shared it and still couldn't finish it. Latka was fantastic. Something for everyone in the family. Service was on the slow side, even though there were plenty of waiters. Salt beef was lean and delicious.

We always make it a point of visiting Reubens whenever we are in London. As always, you cannot go wrong! We went last Sunday and it was pretty busy as always. We didn't have a reservation but they kindly gave us a table. The salt beef sandwiches on rye bread are to die for. The chicken soup is amazing as is the barley soup, although this time it was a tad too salty but still delicious. The falafel platter is huge and very very tasty. Service is unassuming, modest and very homely.

The fruit composite with boiled fruit was awful a glass with prune/fruit juice tiny bits of fruit terrible

Reuben’s have charged my credit card for items that they didn’t supply to me as they were CLOSED. I have repeatedly contacted them for a refund which they have promised to make but after 3 weeks still not bothered. 😕

Great Shepard's Pie. They were extremely accommodating Would have liked the entrees I ordered to include a side. Salt Beef was great and Burgers looks great too.

Really nice knedilach soup. The portions are big and the chicken schnitzel ciabatta was massive. Our server, Vimal, was very nice. Kosher prices so a little more expensive than non-kosher but that's expected and in a central location too. Fyi the deli area has changed and instead the back area as well as downstairs is service-only (reservation recommended). The deli bit is now only the side high-stool bit

Don’t come here without a booking. Your only other option is a counter with stools - fine if you are eat/go. Corned beef sandwich was great. Pickles was great. Chicken soup with dumplings was lovely. However, my chopped liver is better!

I love trying new food, so I tried their salt beef in the form of ‘The Rubén’s Famous Salt Beef Sandwich’. This is a decent place with a decent atmosphere. However, ultimately it’s the food that matters and I was disappointed.

This is an excellent restaurant filled with delicious food and friendly staff. The salt beef is their speciality and is well worth it. I tried a few other items : Schwarma, schnitzel and various appetizers. It is totally awesome and I don't understand the bad reviews. GO!

Reubens is my favourite restaurant for soul food. Their Salt Beef is simply the best I’ve tasted! I love their Chicken Soup and the Shawarma is mouthwatering. I also recommended the Lamb Chops and the Aged Steaks. Their service is amazing and everyone is super friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Enjoy!!!

Disappointing. I was really looking forward to going to this deli but my experience has been shocking firstly we asked for a turkey deli sandwich which is £9 it was dry they didn’t even put mayo or mustard or pickles in it. I asked for the Rueben salt beef sandwich and the beef had a lot of gristle and was chewy. The bagel place on brick lane is better. I think they need an overhaul. People behind the counter clearly didn’t know what they were doing and it’s sad because London can do with better delis than this

Great kosher Restaurant in Central London

Honestly, disappointing! The schnitzel ciabatta is the worst sandwich on the menu. the schnitzel to ciabatta ratio is awful, the bread is almost twice the size of the schnitzel. Moreover, the Schnitzel itself is small, can't believe a restaurant establishment like Reubens could serve something like this. You'd think Reubens would be an amazing kosher restaurant since it won its award for having the best Shwarma. think again! i would never recommend this place again to other people.

Great food, great value and quick!

Avoid this place during the winter. They've had a problem with their door for years and it makes the entire restaurant very cold. Had the salt beef sandwich but it was very dry and the portion is much smaller than it used to be. The service is basic.

My recent delivery from Ruben's Restaurant left me thoroughly disgusted. The sight of bread that looked mouldy, accompanied by a cold steak and chips and missing coke and one of the breads that was also missing, was nauseating. The overall quality of the meal was beyond terrible. I strongly urge others to steer clear of this place, as the experience was nothing short of an atrocious culinary catastrophe. The inadequacy in both presentation and service reached pathetic levels, making this experience one to avoid like the plague. However the food was the delivered on time.

Best Kosher restaurant hands down. Their salt beef is out of the world, better than any place I have ever had. The staff is really polite and accommodating, even though the restaurant was packed. Would definitely recommend everyone to try this place .

We had the Reubens Sandwich and the Reubens Salami, both as good as my grandmother use to make them… wow!

I've been to this restaurant quite a few times, they have a lot of good food but the main reason I go to Reubens is the salt beef, they really know how to make it. The staff are friendly if you've made a mistake on an order they'll be happy to change it. The restaurant is super clean and just a nice atmosphere.

Very bad on deliveroo service. I have been waiting for an hour and still I didn't get my food and when I called the restaurant the guy who answered seemed annoyed. "We just cook, call deliveroo." This is what he said to me. Shoul improve the service.

Terrible experience, sent completely wrong order. Their advise, order again, but wait 10 days for a refund! Avoid this place, worst service I've experienced from a deli, ever.

Had the Ruben sandwich, chopped liver and chicken soup, they were all delicious!

Firstly I’m not the sort to leave a review (hence it’s taken a few days of anger to respond) and also am very much a ‘yeah the food was great’ when it generally isn’t. However, on this occasion I cannot hold my counsel. We went for a work lunch on a recommendation from another colleague. All looked good. We ordered everything (a struggle), and some 45 minutes later our sandwiches arrived, hooray!! My Reuben looked terrific! All was good and as I too the last bite of my first half I discovered something alien in my mouth. As I struggled to spit it out I worked out it was an installed staple! A shock to say the least, and my colleagues were ashen faced. I started to say something to the waiter and before I knew it the staple was whipped from my hands and my sandwich also whiled from my possession. I was in shock. Some 5 minutes later I asked what was going to happen and that there was no long on me waiting another 45 mins for a replacement and that I would eat my colleagues remnants. Eventually they advised (albeit they looked like they’d never dealt with a customer query) that they were ‘negotiating with the manager’!!!! Aghast does not cover it. Anyway, eventually the ‘manager’ arrives, completely unapologetic and says that they seal their meat with staples and that they would ‘move the coffee machine eventually’?!?!? What that means I’ll never know. An extremely mild apology at best followed and my colleague asked if we would received any compensation. She replies, I’ll do my best. The bill came and they begrudgingly removed my sandwich price (£18!!!) which I ate less than half of and decided to see us off with bit so much as a grin and a ‘see you sir’. I’m so overwhelmed with how bad this experience was. This was beyond crazy and I know the only way to articulate my ire is to write a review.

Came to eat chicken matzoh ball soup & salt beef with pickles on rye!! Superb!! Lovely staff!! Today was my Jewish husband heavenly birthday!! Thank you making a tough day, wonderful!! I’ll be back for my birthday in 2 weeks ✡️💙

The salt beef sandwich fell apart after the first bite. Too much meat, too thickly sliced, and had a funny ‘twang’. The rye seemed too white and couldn’t hold the ingredients. Not enough coleslaw. Chips were too fat and tasted like old oil. #disappointment

Oh my God. I was just walking by this restaurant and wasn’t even planning on eating. Everything here is absolutely delicious, it exceeded my expectations, the staff is so friendly and lovely and they pamper you. You will be having breakfast, lunch, dinner here every day if you try. The variety is also great and everything is so fresh and homemade. I’ve had the best experience. 5 star service, well done to all of you guys
