Nibbles in North Hertfordshire

Never been before so popped in, very cute spot in a nice area of town. Ordered one sandwich and some water which totalled £17. Took over 15 minutes to get the sandwich which was average at best (fatty meat/ cheese not melted). Pretty disappointed as it felt very overpriced. Always looking to support independent places but sadly won’t be back with slow service and average food.

Nibbles is now my favourite cafe in Hitchin. The food is delicious and the coffee is excellent (must admit, I'm a bit of a coffee snob) AND they don't charge extra for alternative milks. It's lovely to find a cafe that doesn't penalise for needing an alternative to dairy milk. The owner is friendly, the space clean and airy, and the atmosphere is very conducive to working and/or grabbing a bite to eat with a friend.

I love coming to this place. Always greeted with warm and friendly welcome. Excellent coffee and great service- worth a visit if you haven't been.

Watch out if you have a dietary allergy. Watch several incidents of cross contamination. Spoke with the 'man in charge' who dropped in on the two young lads running the venue, he could not have been any less interested, more interested in the time than listen to dairy milk given, rather than soya, then dairy spread on the panni when I strongly stipulated no dairy......please be careful if you have a strong dairy allergy. Most people who don't care, or who are uninterested do not understand the consequences we allergy suffers have.

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon and the staff (2 young guys) were very poor regarding service, cleanliness and serving simple orders despite not being very busy. Overhead a customer complain to a manager who came in briefly, and he was totally dismissive and walked out. I think the issue was to do with a food allergy the lady had, which I am aware can be fatal in some cases ! I certainly won’t be going back there again.
