Not a great experience at Newcastle Airport. Arrived at the requisite time to check in but nothing on monitors about check in for a Eurowings flight. A Kind TUI rep tipped us off. The 3 check in desks said Antalya (not our destination). 40 minutes later when we just got to the desk, they finally changed to Eurowings. Total chaos. Many people were wandering around confused. Not a great service. The only positive was security. They were super slick

My local airport has taken a nosedive in customer service. Continual delays in arrivals and departures. I have not had a flight on time in 2 years. Finally, they have renewed the outbound security control area, but there's still this dance up and down stairs on arrivals. I would not use this airport if I had an alternative, at the moment.

I personally don't understand why the place has terrible reviews. The staff were professional. The security check was speedy given the new machines (don't need to take anything out, and even the extra shoe check machine works with your shoes on!). There's plenty of places to eat and wait, and the café I got a drink from was happy to refill my water bottle for free.

Only went to pick up some friends had take a van because they had bikes and luggage. Did some prior research on the website and there's a pickup car park for minibuses and vans , no sigh posts for said carpark . No stopping on roadside all red lines, bit of a disaster really.

This Airport and its management are rubbish. My wife went to garage (next to the airport) to buy hot beverages at Greggs and some other items at shell garage with her son. The next few days later, she receives a fine of £60. They forget when they were at their low during covid. This Airport sucks.

If you like piss poor pedestrian access to long stay car parks (No footpath , poor lighting and barriers to limbo under) then you will love this Airport. Newcastle Airport Authorities sort your act out and get rid of your association with UK Parking Patrol Office . I paid my fine (£60 for parking somewhere to load my car for 20 seconds instead of negotiating the assault course just mentioned) clearly on my banks statements but these Scammers are after another £170 quid via another company bwlegal. You have been warned sticking to Manchester Airport from now on !!!!.

This is the most dysfunctional airport I've ever been to. No seating. Excessive wait times. Extremely rude people in baggage check who act passive aggressive if you ask them a question. Waited 2.5 hours just to check our bags. That's 30 minutes after we were told to get here. They set the airport up to sell perfume and other fast fashion trash. You have to walk through a giant series of stores to get to the boarding area. This airport was definitely set up for sales, not passenger transport. Everyone has to sit in the floors bc seating is mostly in the restaurants or not available. Plus you only know your gate 30 minutes before the flight. Hands down worst airport I've been in, ever. No water fountains anywhere, so bring money for water.

This airport was miserable. They won't let you check in til 2 hours before your flight even though BA tells us to be 2.5-3 hours early. We were meant to check in at desks 20-22, the lady at desk 20, sitting under a BA screen, quite rudely told us she doesn't work for that airline and we'll just have to wait. Checking online, it also says desk 20 is for BA flights. There's nowhere to sit anywhere in this airport. You need to wait an hour to check in? You can sit on the floor. Once you're through security you have to walk through a giant store full of nasty perfumes, I hope you don't have an allergy. Then you get in the airport and it's not easy to find where the gates are - but who cares because your gate isn't posted for an hour. Instead of places to sit throughout the airport, there are stores. You want to sit? You better pay £20 for a coke and ham sandwich. There are no drinking fountains, way too few toilets. This airport sucks. I'll be glad to never come through here again.

I flew yesterday and I was happily surprised to see that they had the new scanners, the ones allowing to scan your hand luggage without taking out your laptops/ electronic devices. I gave 4 stars and not 5 because you could see that the staff was still learning how to use them efficiently and also because around the airport there are some works going on making accessing the departure area a bit long. Plus, it took a while to go through the scanners as there may be some technical issues going on at the time I was there. However a very good investment and they are working on improving the airport. So a future easier navigation for passengers.

New system redirecting families with children under 10 to a separate queue basically means whole aircraft of people is checked before any of the families. No access to toilets for kids - explained kids cannot use automatic gates hence separate q but this change basically means we had to wait 40mins to go through passport check. Horrible experience - and unfortunately no one cares.

Clean tidy. Staff pleasant and friendly. Expensive for everything. Sometimes it pays to take your own food. Lot places didn't open straight away and some didn't open, staff shortages. Quick and easy to get your luggage through and pretty quick going through passport control and straight on to plane, no problems on this visit. Happy to return.

Newcastle airport is a small but good enough for the number of passengers. The revamped security check machines and lounge have improved the experience much better than few years back. Short walk to the car park or the car hire garage and you are set to go. Good and practical connection to the metro system.

Lost its small and friendly atmosphere. Newcastle Airport was quick and easy up until this year. Security being the main area the airport has fell. Since introducing the new scanners it takes 3x as long to clear. The staff get easily confused and frustrated rubbing off on the vibe of the airport. Long waits for bag searches under 100ml items and putting shoes through the scanners then expecting people to put them back on instantly. Overall certain parts of the airport have taken a step back including cleanliness of the toilets, bars and restaurants. I also witnessed the Swissport ground crew throw multiple cases off the carts as they rounded corners due to not securing the sides.

We used the tui check in and I must admit it was so easy using the scales and printing your ticket out for your case, the security upstairs are quick, efficient and are really clear on how they need passengers to follow their instructions 👍 of course we all love the duty free and as a smoker I did take time out for a cheeky puff before I flew.

Extremely unfriendly security staff, put you thru 10 different checks with no explanation. Shouting about failed shoe tests and treating you like a criminal for taking a holiday. Came in with high expectations, as most smaller airports are generally nicer. Unfortunately, there was a catalogue of problems that together made for a bad experience. - security was poorly managed, with a high number of bags being checked despite CT scanning, and a long queue waiting for additional bag checks due to poor prioritisation of staffing - there is not a single water fountain in the terminal on either side of security, and I had to ask someone at one of the shops in the departure lounge to kindly fill my bottles - toilets were quite unclean, particularly the floor - the very large Boots does not have an on-call pharmacist, which was not helpful when my partner needed antiemetics and could not get them The airport is only redeemed by its friendly staff and being relatively well-connected by the Metro.

Arrivals. Very few flights in. For a change Border force had officers at passport check desks and as there are so few electronic passport machines they actually manually checked some passengers to avoid queues. They seriously need to have more machines I'm sure the name is Newcastle International Airport that suggests great service on arrival note just in departures.

Friendly police checking passports, 2 years running. Clean, but getting from plane to luggage reclaim is a nightmare. Downstairs and upstairs, not great if you have any health problems. Update to leaving Newcastle 2024. They now have a new system where you do not have to take things out of your luggage, liquids, lap-tops, etc. Unfortunately, the system seems to pick out too many suut cases. With us, it was to check my mini shaving foam and the second piece of luggage to check out a tablet. Overall, it is a slower process.

It is a nice airport, with everything you need. The only complaint I have is the parking charges to drop off or free short stay are nothing but a money grab. Even the metro is more expensive to go one more zone {and the airport is the only station in that zone). So £3 to be dropped off at the front or £7 if over 15 mins. What service did I get for that? The privilege of driving through APR cameras? Profiteering...

Terrible customer care from special assist team! Nearly missed our flight due to incompetent, unprofessional staff! My disabled Husband waited over 1hr for assistance to board the plane, which wasn’t provided as the staff failed to provide his correct name to flight crew! This resulted in him hurrying to the gate and boarding himself with a walking aid! Staff were too busy talking and ignored us the whole time!

On the 28th may 2024 the airport announced better machines to scan bags due to a 20 million investment. You can now leave liquids inside the bag. 100ml containers up to 1 litre is acceptable. However, on 18th June when I went through,everyone with liquid was stopped and pulled to one side for extra checks. I specifically checked my liquid was all under 100ml and in separated clear sealed bag and I was still stopped for extra checks along with everyone else. The queue waiting for checks was crazy. I paid for fast track which was a bit of a kick in the teeth as I got stopped and had to wait in a long queue anyway. Also, parking was £110 for 10 days. What a rip off. Duty free is expensive too. Dreadful!
