Small but convenient with domestic and international flights

Airport is clean. I'd suggest walking there - and for the love of god, don't ask anyone to pick you up on your return. Despicable parking charges.

Some more seats would be welcome

I love this airport as so easy to get to. Never wait long to check in bags and very quick getting through security, even more so now with new scanners installed.

I love planes and I go plane spotting because it’s my local and the airport it’s small but mighty people are nice the service was good and it feels like home.

45 minute wait at baggage reclaim without any explanation as to the delay. not good enough. Informed people are happy people, communicate more effectively in future

A great wee modern airport with no long security queues and quick baggage reclaim. The only downside is the parking fees.

flight was delayed coming in the had to wait over an hour at the luggage belt some got cases then it stopped and said closed loads of us had to wait over an hour

Passport control is very slow not enough scanners try looking at Palma airport for a few tips!! Or even alicante which is much faster

Brilliant airport, great facilities, really friendly security and passport control which other airports could learn from, great duty free, good choice of food and drink.

It's a medium sized airport, great if you're travelling to or from Newcastle.

Nice and easy to check in, lovely and clean. Not much to do whilst waiting for the flight, hardly any shops.

It's an airport, good overall for its size. But we have had to wait for our bags more than once

Modern, clean, nice service. Very bussy. The number of seats available for facilities is limited to such a state that the capacity of one aircraft is greater than the total number of them. This is a form of forcing you to shop so that you can sit down.

Excellent airport. Easy to get to. Security check was slow with a lot of people and a scanner malfunctioning. Otherwise great.

I'm going to give Newcastle International Airport 1 star due to what I witnessed when I was there . An Autistic father and his Autistic son were there to watch some planes take off and land at the airport . I would have thought that someone would have told the father that they could have gone somewhere to watch the planes , even if there was a waiting area to do that . No , the father was told by an employee of the airport that he needed a boarding pass just to go watch the planes . Now , I'm all for keeping everyone safe , but when the father told the employee of the airport that both himself and his son have Autism , you would think that the employee would have had someone to take the father and son somewhere inside of the airport so they could watch some planes . I felt so sorry for the little boy and his father because they went outside to see if they could see any planes , only to get caught in the rain and they seemed sad because of the rain and they didn't even get to see any planes . I'm sure that Newcastle International Airport should have a place for people with special needs to go to in order to watch some planes . Create an area for special needs people to watch planes land and take off . I hope that you will take this into consideration and allow special needs families to watch the planes . Nothing has changed .

Very fast took me 10 minutes to get through everything and back to my car

Go to airport, have had a few bad experiences on my end but the staff were helpful with this :) great airport. Just a bit pricey for certain things but can't really escape it.

Our flight from Malta today - 17 October 2024 - was delayed landing due to the airport being shut as they have a shortage of air traffic controllers. After eventually landing the wait to get through passport control was a joke. Malta International Airport puts Newcastle to shame. I was embarrassed to be in the queue with people from other countries seeing such a debacle. Disgraceful

Sitting here in Tap and Brew. A friendly face, Ryan making sure the bar area is kept clean and tidy. Never stopped whilst we were there. Happy holidays.

Love traveling from here, international flights, it's easy access plus sufficient parking. Lounge and duty free all comfortable. Happy Holidays!

I recently flew out of Newcastle Airport and overall it was a pretty mixed experience. One thing I really appreciated was the fact that there were two smoking areas, something you don't often find in airports these days. If you're a smoker, it definitely makes things a bit more comfortable while you're waiting. The duty-free section is small but decent - just enough variety to pick up a few last-minute items without feeling overwhelmed by the choice. The airport is also fairly easy to navigate, which is always a bonus, especially if you're in a hurry to catch your flight. Having said that, the airport itself is quite small, which became more apparent when I had some extra time to kill before my flight. There aren't many places to sit or relax for long, and the food and drink options are pretty limited. If you're looking for a proper meal or a variety of cafes to choose from, you might be disappointed. I found it a little cramped and struggled to find a comfortable place to settle down. Overall, it's fine for a short, straightforward trip, but if you've got a long layover or like to explore the airport facilities, it might feel a little lacking.

Very nice and clean place but very expensive to buy anything

Nice airport, very well developed with many shops (WHSmith, Boots), cafes and restaurants with charging stations (English sockets or USB) after border control. Due to new scanners, laptops do not need to be scanned separately. Cheese was affected, but it was ok. ATM for cash and lots of toilets and well posted.

SPECIAL ASSISTANCE GUESTS PLEASE READ BELOW!!! Mind. Let's just say special assistance at Newcastle I would avoid. I mean check in at beginning yes. This is very useful for assisting you through the queues. Getting on the plane via Gate. He asked if we had it we said no. BUT!!! He says don't worry I will sort it please go in zone 3 we will call you to get on.. NNNOOOOO!! They nearly left without us the pilot shut the flight, the check clerk (clueless unfortunately as to what he was), 🤨😠 forgot about us!!! We only knew when our friends on the plane said where r u the plane is shut down!! We are about to leave the pilot is not waiting you have been called twice And even funnier. He says when i went over to him at 6.00.15am i said look our flight is 6am?? When will we be going on... he says... Ooo yeah. U need to run!!! What a utter 😡😡 xx Imagine being in a wheelchair asking us to run!! As the tui staff said sorry to us it was the clerks fault etc. It gave a crap feeling as to holding everyone up so we could board. Sooo moral of this story is. You have to book special assistance AT THE TIME OF BOOKING!!! And ask for it in one way and not other.. I haven't flown for years. And our friend booked the holiday. So yes we didn't know about these things. But maybe the clerk should have said no u don't have it so your not getting it. That would have been more liable than just telling us he would put on the childs card and sit in zone 3

Quick and easy going through security. Breakfast at greggs . Great choice of shops and restaurants

They make out like they’re the best in the world, but while you’re stood in a mile long security queue because they’ve decided to fly several planes at the same time it feels very disorganised & chaotic.

Quite busy with no holdups bar prices expensive but away on holiday

It's quite good, but when returning, it is confusing as to what queue you should be in. One lane has border control, and the other is e-passports.

Returning through passport control is slow due to only 6 passport scanners

After some time on NCL again and have to say... nice surprise! Effective security, nice staff in lounge, definitely pleasure. Specially in compare with other UK airports!

Clean ,tidy , plenty security staff. Time of within by 01/10/24 all liquids are to be in containers no more than 100ml. Leave all liquids in your cabin bags handbags etc Also leave all electrical equipment in bags . Leave your shoes on too. So much easier now and faster .

Flight on time, parking excellent. Facilities improved, expanded and superb. Star of the day was Jess in Duty Free alcohol sales who helped me at the checkout terminal and pointed out I could get 5% off by downloading the Red by Dufry app👌🏻I won’t fly from anywhere else. Ding dong 🤜🏻

Friendly with decent shops and restaurants even if they are overpriced.

Managed to get two sit-downs for coffees, compared to Heathrow and JFK. This was fab for the tiredness on the plane back from NY.

This was once a great Airport its now a shadow of its former self. Parking absolute joke ref prices. I flew out to USA and was on the BA Redeye Shuttle down to LHR the MUSIC at 04:30 in morning was unbearable blaring out like a RAVE disgusting tables not clean windows absolute joke totally filthy whole place was just a bad experience. Not a calm Terminal at all. I only use it as its local to me. Its Longhaul flights are also very limited needs a direct JFK flight year round like EDI has.

In our opinion it's an expensive airport to park in for what it offers. Very few flights fly from here now because of the cost for planes to use it. And for us the poor humans to park there. Sometimes it's seems like pure bedlam inside when the gates open BUT it all work out ok.the shops and food areas once past the customers is very good and lots of places for drinks or snacks or just to shop in the duty free.its let down badly because of lack of different destinations to fly too not like in the past...we have to travel to Liverpool if we want to fly to the south of France. or to Edinburgh or Glasgow airport. Again like most places it's down to greed. Even the car park IF you are lucky will only cost you a £100 a week to park there..and even then you could be parked at the far end of the car park 30 minutes pushing a suite case in the rain or snow... It's not the staffs fault it the people they work for...

I have traveled through this airport a few times. Nice and clean. Parking charges are high. Approximately £14 an hour. Clean toilets and there is a coffee shop and few restaurants after a security check. It is very close to city 🏙️. Plenty of parking 🅿️ space.

Probably the best airport in the UK. I’ve flown from most Uk airports and every time I go from Newcastle there’s no queues, good services and clean. No delays on flights and staff are actually helpful. 5/5 airport.

Fast check-in. The only downfall is the length of the zig zagg that you have to do for passport control. Could do with more staff on passport control

We dropped our son at the airport at Short stay 1 ;allowed 15 minutes at cost of £7. The bonus I guess is close to the terminals.

Compared to Edinburgh a very relaxed place to fly from. Friendly staff. Deducting 1 star as whilst we were on flight ready to go to Crete on time, ATC decided to shut the airport for 30 minutes so they could all have a rest. We were therefore delayed. Very weird.

Very nice airport for its size. There are many opportunities to shop, both in the departure hall, on the way to the gates and even at gate 3 there was a vending machine with soft drinks and sweets. Plenty of seating in the departure hall. Burgerking, Star Bucks etc. Lots of toilets which are clean and nice. It is nicer and cleaner than many other airports. Security is also fast, new machines and scanners make everything run smoothly and safely. Service minded staff.

A nice airport that offers international service. It also has two Aspire lounges. The airport is small enough that it is easy to navigate. By the way, Newcastle itself is a great place to visit!

Rip off merchant, car park prices

It's ok, get in get out. Parking is expensive and the drop off is in the long stay carpark! But it's the only airport so it could have zero stars and we would still use it.

Nice regional airport with decent facilities and a reasonable selection of destinations

0 seating before the gates, which are "no return". Either you're lucky enough to get a seat at Burger King or the Pub or your standing for the hours until your gates announced...

So much improved, 20 mins from drop off to making it through security. Even with quick check on fluids in luggage included.

Probably the worst run airport in the country. Check in system stopped working at departures. Flight was delayed because not enough air traffic controllers so when they need to take a break, no take off and you loose your slot. E-gates constantly don't work, and luggage belt stopped 3 times. The areas between arrival and border control are scruffy. And the worst of it? No-one cares.

Fast track security not so fast track. Don’t waste your money! For the first time we paid for fast track through security due to the number of flights leaving around the same time. Check-in and baggage drop was quick, despite the queue taking only 5 minutes. We then joined the queue for fast track security and we waited as the queue for normal security moved much quicker than ours. People behind us past us and got through security as quick, if not quicker than us despite the numbers in their queue. It took 25-30 minutes. Poor service from Newcastle and I wouldn’t waste your money.

Always great for departure . Security fast and nice bars / restaurants . But arrivals especially with checked bags always awful. There are only a few air bridges and the corridors are from the 1980s. You are sent downstairs, various people struggling with kids push chairs then you have to go up again. Such a poor first impression of Newcastle . Why is the passport area so small and only 3 baggage carrousels . Always takes ages for bags to appear. The arrivals experience just seems so dated . needs a major investment .

Decent airport but be careful if just picking someone up the dropoff at the front is a fortune , head to Short Stay 2 where you get 15 minutes free, stay in the left lane when entering the airport and head for the long stay parks , the short stay 2 turning is just before the barriers to the long stay , you need to slip off to the right into the car park

Easy check in and bar OK but a bit pricy

£95 to park for 6 days. No bus transport to the terminal (pushing bloody luggage) in the middle in the night and it was tipping down. Dirty eating areas. No seating. It was like a third world railway station Only 30 mins to get to the gate after it being called Aggressive shop staff. An expensive and poor airport. Just which more carriers would move to Teesside airport. Its much much better!

Easy to negotiate the various queues, helpful staff. Avoid flights 6-7.00 am, it's soooo busy.

Newcastle Airport really needs to invest in either a lift or a moving walkway to get passengers from the Metro inside the airport for those of pensionable Age. It is a mammoth task to push suitcases uphill for the distance involved. The same situation has existed for many years and it’s about time the airport prioritised, some improvements.

The bar area floor was filthy the table tops rotten the beer priced well over.....

It’s the first time I’ve used passenger assist and I was really impressed by the service I received. I was informed where to go, by what time and then supported to the plane. Great service, thank you.

Medium sized international airport fulfilling all basic needs. Solid connections

The refreshment areas are the worst we've seen. The floors were disgusting, no one came to clean up or wipe tables. We had to clean the table ourselves. No cleaners seen walking around as you see across European airports. For an international airport this is totally unacceptable.

Great airport, but don’t take your car anywhere near the airport and ESPECIALLY the fuel station. £100 fines the moment you open your boot EVEN if you fill up your car and buy from the garage shop. IDIOTIC AIRPORT MANAGEMENT- but great for local taxis firms!!

Not a great experience at Newcastle Airport. Arrived at the requisite time to check in but nothing on monitors about check in for a Eurowings flight. A Kind TUI rep tipped us off. The 3 check in desks said Antalya (not our destination). 40 minutes later when we just got to the desk, they finally changed to Eurowings. Total chaos. Many people were wandering around confused. Not a great service. The only positive was security. They were super slick

Straight off the plane, through immigration and cases were there. Taxi outside and away home.

Pickup and dropoff fees are excessive. The rest of the airport is okay

My local airport has taken a nosedive in customer service. Continual delays in arrivals and departures. I have not had a flight on time in 2 years. Finally, they have renewed the outbound security control area, but there's still this dance up and down stairs on arrivals. I would not use this airport if I had an alternative, at the moment.

I personally don't understand why the place has terrible reviews. The staff were professional. The security check was speedy given the new machines (don't need to take anything out, and even the extra shoe check machine works with your shoes on!). There's plenty of places to eat and wait, and the café I got a drink from was happy to refill my water bottle for free.

Airport very clean, screens above check in desk not working properly so difficult to locate the one we needed. Only one person doing check in initially, desk opened late so slow getting through. Eventually 3 more people to turned up.
