I’ve come across an extremely rude racist staff (an old white man) of Swissport and Eurowings who somehow worked at the British Airways counter. He verbally attacked me, blaming the flight delay and my missing of the plane all on me. He original words were ‘So why you are the only one having this issue? It’s all your fault!’ There were technical issues with my Eurowings app together with a delay so I cannot get my boarding pass but the plane was about to go, so I was quite desperate. However when I finally reached out to this man, he treated me extremely rude with his poker face and vicious words and refused to provide any further guidance!!! There is NO general help desk of the airport. When I finally found a staff from the special assistance desk, he directed me to a so called duty manager who strangely worked at the jet2 counter. So I am now still confused if she’s the manager of the airport or an airline company. When I talked that I wanted to raise a complaint about the racist staff, the manager transferred all attention to Eurowings and didn’t give me any information about how to properly complain. Is this airport having any staff training regarding equality diversity and inclusivity? Or at least the basic caring attitude to customers?

Having flowing in and out Newcastle airport this week 10-13 May, I would say the experience was great. Going through security was effortless , shops and amenities were laid out well and easy accessible. On the return, it was disappointing to see the 5 e-gates and about 6 desk with boarder staff sat there and not helping/serving passengers. Long queues coming back in. More e-gates is needed, to enhance the passenger experience. Long stay car park was 5-7 mins walking distance to the terminal. Overall I would recommend flying from this airport.

No announcements and 100’s and 100’s of passengers queuing because the new baggage scanners are not working properly. Every carry on needed to be hand checked. No announcements! Just one woman shouting at people that if they block to automatic gates they will get injured and not fly, but go to hospital. Great customer service!!!!!!!!! It seems there are absolutely no emergency protocols in place. Really bad!

Worst and most startling experience early hours this morning.GOD HELP ANYONE WITH A MEDICAL EMERGENCY THERE.in the arrivals terminal my partner is diabetes type 1 and was nearly in coma and border control wouldnt allow staff to pass thru security with pure orange juice and staff told to stay at there posts until all arrivals were off the bus before they could offer assistance. We had a short holiday, flying to and from NCL. We should have chosen a different airport. Arrival: we waited over 15 minutes for stairs to be brought to the aircraft; to get to passport control we had to walk through a maze of tape barriers through the entire hall, when there was no queue at all. Departure: no machines to print baggage tags, but efficient counter service for dropping bags. Security was fine. Then, hell on earth. We had to run the gauntlet of awful noise levels (loudspeakers blasting rubbish ’music’, people shouting) through the sales area, no short cuts possible. Crowds everywhere, but ample gate seating went unused as the gate was not announced until boarding time! The ‘plane had been standing there for perhaps an hour. We could have been sitting in comfort - but evidently that is not to be expected here. AVOID!

Parked to collect my brother. In the short stay car park you can park for 15 minutes for free. It took 10 minutes to walk to the exit, then 10 minutes to walk back to the car. Then I got to pay £9 for the 5 minutes of parking. Utterly outrageous prices. Do not recommend.

I love newcastle airport as it is smaller than a lot of airports. Everything is nearby. Parking, going through security, there were no queues, plenty of shops and the walk to the gates was no problem as I have mobility issues. I use this airport everytime if possible

Arrived from Palma de Mallorca Airport on a full aircraft, another Plane full arrived at the same time, took over 50 mins to get through passport control with a UK passport. Non UK arrivals use express lane to go to the desks with human personal and go through much faster. Automated desks take forever to scan passport. Need more than five desks. UK passport holders getting treat like second class citizens in our own Country.

This is a small but excellent airport. Car hire is very close to terminal, or Metro is only £4.50 to centre of Newcastle and takes about 25 mins, it has to be one of the cheapest airport transfers to a city centre in the world. Superb.

Really good airport and I mean it! First of all, I came on a Friday night and had no queues at all! The security took less than 5 minutes and the duty free was large! And best of all, before the boarding gates were two massage chairs, £1 for 5 minutes! Went twice because I arrived at the airport early. And there are a lot of seating areas and places to charge any devices. My easyJet flight was going to depart at 21:15 but departed at 21:40 which isn’t really the airport’s fault though. Doesn’t matter either way because of how nice it was! Also, great link with the metro!

Decent airport but be careful if just picking someone up the dropoff at the front is a fortune , head to Short Stay 2 where you get 15 minutes free, stay in the left lane when entering the airport and head for the long stay parks , the short stay 2 turning is just before the barriers to the long stay , you need to slip off to the right into the car park

Had a great experience at this airport. All staff are friendly. As you walk in the front doors, all the airline baggage areas are in front of you, so it's easy. Plenty of toilets were clean and tidy. Security was easy I visited in a quiet period but the fact theu have the new scanners which means no bagging of liquids and all that hassle made it so much easier to get my ten litres of perfume through. The waiting areas were clean and tidy with not too badly priced areas to eat.

It's is small but quite well managed airport. Decent as well. Could still improve on cleanliness. Most importantly I have one question what is the point in starting boardings when you already know the take off is delayed due to bad weather in Amsterdam and bird near the runway of new castle. Could be better to do all that first and then start boarding.

This airport disgusts me. And I will do everything I can to avoid it, including the hotel (Hilton) It is a money grabbing disgrace. Any excuse to fine you for pick up and drop off in order to collect their new charge of £5. I picked up my pilot at the gates of the Hilton, I was fined £60 for this even though I had a vehicle issue and we were responding to power outages after the storm. No empathy, no nothing. Just fines to the max if they can. Newcastle airport parking is a joke, the airport inside sucks and they have spent a ton of money installing cameras just to try and catch people out. Including at the adjoining petrol station. Whole place is a joke, ill not be coming back and using any resources I can to avoid, can’t even get there on the metro without an increased toll Whomever runs this shambles wants to be ashamed! Avoid it!

10 minute drop off is now £5, gone up from £4. Could not see any signs to notify of this increase before payment. I brought 4 coins and was going to pay the rest on contactless but apparently you cannot do part payment via different methods. Pressed the help button on the machine but then had to wait about 5 or 6 minutes to speak to someone who then asked if I could go and get £1 from my parents who I'd just dropped off in the airport. Wow. Value for money - zero. Customer service - zero.

One of the biggest and most blatant rip- offs you are ever going to come across in your entire life. Everything from the second you arrive and are confronted with an extortionate £5 just to get dropped off by car or taxi and then the ludicrous prices in the departure lounge for food, drink, snacks etc. A litre of bottled water for instance costs more than you would pay outside for a litre of petrol. But no one cares and as long as passengers continue to allow themselves to be blatantly robbed in this way then nothing will change

Airport itself is fine, but road signage is terrible. No signs for hire-car drop off until you are almost there, and no way back if you accidentally exit roundabout leading to drop-off area (that’ll be £5 thankyou very much). All accompanied by aggressive notices warning of £100 fine if you stop to try to work out which way you should be going. All in all an unpleasant, stressful, and expensive experience (until you make it into the terminal).

After getting off the plane, there are quite a few steps to climb down with your hand baggage. There is no lift or escalator. It is a narrow and cramped staircase. After the stairs there is an escalator to the immigration area and everything is fine and well organised. Newcastle is a small and excellent airport except for those stairs at arrival.

It's a small international airport, with only a cafe and a convenience store in the lobby before boarding. However, after checking in, there are many gift shops and high-quality restaurants in the large hall, where you can enjoy authentic fish and chips and draft beer to your heart's content.

The food here is utterly woeful, at least the Sunday lunch. Clearly just supermarket food warmed up (or in some cases, not even warmed up). We waited absolutely ages for our food, and the server was completely unapologetic. We were a large party, that they knew about. We ordered in advance, and then confirmed a couple of hours prior. By the time the beef and pork started coming out (sitting on the counter, not being served), a few of our party had finished. Not on at all. Not once did they explain what was going on. We just waited and waited, and the dishes were coming out more or less one at a time. If you can't cope with large orders, don't accept them, but if you do and you can't cope, just let us know. Don't make excuses after the event. Tell us beforehand or at least apologise for the wait. Price-wise, £16 for a bought in roast is a joke. £14 for a pie clearly bought in from Heron and cooked by Chef Mike is offensive. The veg was washed out and over cooked. The gravy was tasteless. With so many other places in the vicinity to eat, this is bottom rung. Like I said, it's not even cheap. Not worth it on any level. (This is my opinion only, and not necessarily the opinion of anyone else in our group)

A restaurant advertised a delivery driver job from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, offering just £5 an hour—well below the national minimum wage. I was shocked and called them to ask how it’s possible to pay only £25 for 5 hours of work. They told me drivers earn extra from delivery charges, but that’s usually separate. At the very least, they should be paying minimum wage. Avoid this restaurant—they’re just wasting drivers’ time.

A lovely spot that always had fresh (and sadly rare in Newcastle ) independent feel to it has sadly CLOSED. On the plus side St Sushi are supposed to be taking over the spot which would be a better location for them
