Totally disappointed, we were promised more Bathroom and room unclean Man hears everything. And early check in 3 hours 30 pounds extra No baggage drop-off before or after check-in Staff at reception unfriendly especially the young lady from October 23rd to October 26th very arrogant and dismissive Room exchange was blocked. Breakfast was included in the booking Toast with jam and good English breakfast was ok Unfortunately for me that's 2 hotels We stayed on the other side of the street So we always had to go out and go to the other side for breakfast Room cleaning a joke You don't know vacuum cleaners And sheets with some blood on them Hasn't been renewed in 3 days All in all very disappointing In room 505 the floor tiles were also loose and broken, looking like water damage Never again

We made a booking through the website which said that the check-in time was 13:00. The receptionist without checking anything told us that our check-in time was 15:00. Didn't clearly explain anything. No luggage room was there in the lobby to store any of our things till we wait for our check-in. She kept talking looking at us like we were gonna run away with something. Also, the hotel has two buildings. The Carlton is across the street, opposite the Waitrose. And, the car park for that building is behind it. The receptionist said that the car park is behind a pizzeria. We wasted a good 20 minutes searching for the car park behind the pizzeria going round and round in circles. As we are tourists in a new city, they could explain it more precisely and in a little more detail. Could have given us a map or a drawing on a sheet of paper. Something that could help find the Carlton or the parking without us dragging our luggage around in the cold. The room was neat. But the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly. There was hair all over. There were two keycards provided for each room. Only one of them worked. Overall, it was not a great stay. They can definitely improve on customer service and the staff can be a bit more clearer in explaining the rooms location to tourists who are new to the city.

The food here is utterly woeful, at least the Sunday lunch. Clearly just supermarket food warmed up (or in some cases, not even warmed up). We waited absolutely ages for our food, and the server was completely unapologetic. We were a large party, that they knew about. We ordered in advance, and then confirmed a couple of hours prior. By the time the beef and pork started coming out (sitting on the counter, not being served), a few of our party had finished. Not on at all. Not once did they explain what was going on. We just waited and waited, and the dishes were coming out more or less one at a time. If you can't cope with large orders, don't accept them, but if you do and you can't cope, just let us know. Don't make excuses after the event. Tell us beforehand or at least apologise for the wait. Price-wise, £16 for a bought in roast is a joke. £14 for a pie clearly bought in from Heron and cooked by Chef Mike is offensive. The veg was washed out and over cooked. The gravy was tasteless. With so many other places in the vicinity to eat, this is bottom rung. Like I said, it's not even cheap. Not worth it on any level. (This is my opinion only, and not necessarily the opinion of anyone else in our group)

A lovely spot that always had fresh (and sadly rare in Newcastle ) independent feel to it has sadly CLOSED. On the plus side St Sushi are supposed to be taking over the spot which would be a better location for them

A restaurant advertised a delivery driver job from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, offering just £5 an hour—well below the national minimum wage. I was shocked and called them to ask how it’s possible to pay only £25 for 5 hours of work. They told me drivers earn extra from delivery charges, but that’s usually separate. At the very least, they should be paying minimum wage. Avoid this restaurant—they’re just wasting drivers’ time.

I was there for a friend's 40th and the room was freezing, the staff were under trained as they had to be instructed on how to make different cocktails by us the customers.

Really nice pub with delicious food. A great place to eat just outside of Newcastle City Centre.
