New Star Tandoori in Brighton and Hove

Ordered for collection, the food was fresh and hot and I did not have to wait for it. It is the best takeaway in my local area I would highly recommend. 5 star rating for me!

Highly recommended. Great food and amazing service. Large portions. Mixed starter, Chicken tikka Biriani, Special Biriani and Naan bread. Best Indian in the area by far. Absolutely fabulous. Shall be returning very, very soon.

Usually loyal to our local Indian, we decided to try Spicy Wife, as it had a massive 30% off collection. All the food was lovely, and they even gave us extra pops and onion bhajis. We'll be back!

Food was hot and had alot of taste. Would recommend and I would like to try different dishes next time. Service was fast and friendly. Would recommend 😊

We continued using Spicy Wife after they took over New Star which we had very happily used for years. Food was very good but very poor service. Whilst I appreciate it was busy of NYD, food was around an hour late and when phoning to chase, CS was very poor, with us just being told it was coming soon and on the last call, the phone was put down. In credit, when the food arrived it was good, fresh and hot. If we knew it would take longer than normal, we could have managed that. Based on this, we won't be back.

Pleasantly surprised, normally order from shoreham or lancing but tried Spicy Wife. Big portions, very tasty and felt natural. Unlike those currys that are pure spice over taste. Would recommend, mint sauce was very good You need to order rice on top

Delicious food. Bhuna was good. Tikka masala was perfect. And the tarka dall was to DIE for! Definitely coming again, throughly enjoyed it. Great value too!

Ordered food at 630 ,told delivery half an hour ,an hour later called to chase said 5 mins away ,half hour later turned up clear cold .Had requested refund but nothing processed .Normally good and food tasty but sadly this time stone cold so not so nice .Very disapointed.

Finally got around to trying Spicy Wife and I must say that I was really impressed. My Lamb Chilli Massala was absolutely delicious as were all of the accompanying sides. Generous portions (many other places can be a bit stingy when you order lamb), tender meat and a lovely rich and spicy sauce. Friendly service too. Looking forward to trying some of their other dishes. 👌

I caused confusion with the delivery process and Spicy Wife dealt with it promptly and were really lovely and understanding about it. They solved the issue swiftly and got the food to us which was absolutely excellent. Would highly recommend to anybody and will definitely be ordering again!

Just got Deliveroo delivery from Spicy Wife. Amazing food and amazing taste. Lamb Biryani , mixed meat platter and Butter Chicken. So well seasoned.Love their food.

Take away order was delivered promptly. Plenty warm enough and good sizes. Pretty standard British curry wouldn't be surprised if large parts of it were microwaved, the filled nans in particular felt mass produced.

The vest Indian in the area. Great food! However delivery times suck, and the staff aren't apologetic about that fact either. Time after time it's late. And when you ring its the same answer. "It's on its way"

Popped in on the way home and got a couple of take aways. The lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful. The food was delish and the portions were huge, plenty of left overs.

We ordered at 18.40 and were told delivery in 50 minutes or less. At 20.00 we were told 10 minutes and same 15 minutes later. Food finally arrived at 20.25 cold and definitely not usual standard. No apologies, just we're very busy. Driver was sullen and didn't apologise. We have been very loyal customers but we won't be going back

Been using this place for seven years. Consistently fresh and tasty. The only place I order curry from unless they’re closed for some reason. Highly recommended. Good customer service too.

Have had Indian takeaway from somewhere in the region of 50 different establishments over the past 10 years, this is easily top 5, food is exceptional quality, worth going out of my way to get!

24th October 2021 Very disappointing The Pilau rice had no flavour. The curry : prawn jalfrezie had heat but no flavour and the tiny prawns were over cooked. The side dish was not very nice at all and it was cold. I

Brilliant little restaurant, superb food. The Goan chicken curry was delicious, and do try their chipatis, cooked in the tandoori. Please go, especially during the current crisis!

Worst king prawn tikka curry and awful cold food ever had from Indian takeaway. NOt great service. Will be going elsewhere in future and advise others to do same... YUK! ... such a shame.

Just yuck tonight cold. Had to reheat , ( I live 3 minutes along manor hall ) hardly any lamb in tikka masala , rice watery just awful korma ok ish , never had a bad one from here .

Not looking for discount or a replacement dish. The worst king prawn tikka and disgusting onion bhaji i ever had from indian takeaway. The explanation they gave was this is the way we cook. You should have thrown burnt king prawn, onion bhaji away and make a new one before you dispatched horrible food. You saved £2.50 and not gain 1more customer to support your business. Poor intelligent way to growth your business.

Used to be the best food but has gone really down hill,the new girl taking the order is useless if she is working you will be disappointed as she will get your order wrong. Last meal we had was over cooked slop. Shame.

Cracking take away - even though they don't deliver to us any more we always make the drive over to collect, rather than try somewhere closer. Lovely staff and consistent quality.

Food very medioka. Ordered a Korma and was very distasteful. Was annoyed to find I paid for two cans of drinks which state.. Multi pack not for resale, yet law doesn't apply here.. Will not be returning as was not impressed with food. Staff seem friendly but that's about it really. Gutted that I wasted money here.. But live and learn and don't return..

Wow shocking. Waited an hour and 20 mins. Called dead on the hour and was told 2 mins. 10 mins later I phoned again. Said they were going to phone the driver. No call back from them with any details. Just started to call them to cancel our order and the man came running up the road. Didn't even park near our house yet our street was empty from cars?? Food was warm not hot! Although it was OK food this is the second time they have been considerably late so no more orders from us now. And didn't even attempt to take any money off the bill. Even a couple of quid would of meant they actually listened to how stressed I was on the phone. Either collect your food or expect a long wait

Felt bad using this place rather than my normal Indian Takeaway, which I thought was amongst the best in Brighton, but this place knocks it into a cocked hat. Have to say this is now my takeaway of choice Plain naan onion bhaji mushroom rice chicken dhansak including delivery...£12 plus change Just the right blend of heat and spice...highly reccomend.
