New Pippin in Coventry

Swapped chips for salad with my steak. Sorriest, driest salad I've ever had. Poor women left on her own to tend the bar, and one else in sight (10/10 for her though!).

We recently had a wake here and Michael and the team were fabulous. All staff were helpful and courteous when I called and were reassuring when I called. The room was lively and it provided a private space to celebrate the life of my mum with friends and family.’The team treated us with respect and thoughtfulness Thanks guys! Ali J

Great pub with a fantastic atmosphere! The bar staff, especially Cedric, were friendly, efficient, and made sure everyone was well looked after. The food was top-notch—fresh, delicious, and great value for money. And you can’t beat a £3.49 Carling! Will definitely be coming back.

Came here today to celebrate our 15 yr anniversary. Nice & quiet pub. The young curly haired lad on the bar was great & nothing was 2 much trouble for him. The food was hot & tasty which we really enjoyed. He kept us updated when something wasn't available on my husbands pudding. He cleared out table straight away. Will definitely recommend & be back again soon. Thank you.

Had a lovely lunch here with my partner and sister-in-law. The food was absolutely delicious and not badly priced either. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Definitely recommend and will be going back here again in the future

We visited for a quick drink and a bite and were looked after by Jay and Devon. They were both friendly and attentive and made our stay very enjoyable. Worth a visit.

Have visited the new pippin many times and never had a bad meal until last night, really wasn't impressed at all. Was with my partner and our 4 year old daughter, I had the mixed grill and my partner had the tandoori sizzler. Partners meal came out and we realised there was no cutlery or napkins so I had to get these from another table. Waited and waited for mine and my daughters food, she was getting fed up and the waiter kept walking past us with food for other tables but still hadn't acknowledged us waiting. After about ten minutes he finally came over and fair enough he did apologise and say he'd made a mistake but by this time my partner had almost finished his meal. Food came out, I wasn't impressed with the quality of the meat, all tasted cheap and I don't think it's worth £13 odd when you can get two meals for £11.99 on the same size plates. Same with my partners meal £14 pound something and it's on the same size plate as the cheapest meals. Won't be rushing back anytime soon which is a shame as I've never had a problem before but last night has really put me off Edit So in response to the review the manager at the new pippin sent me an email to apologise and to invite us back with free meals and desserts to try and give us a better experience. We had a lovely time, they had a table reserved for us, all staff really lovely, food was great and we didn't wait long. When my partner went up to order the food they gave us the drinks for free as well. This was very kind of them and because of this we decided not to order desserts as we were happy with our experience and what we had received and didn't want to be seen as taking advantage. I have great respect for any business that is big enough to say sorry we got it wrong, please give us another chance to make things right. Because of this we will definitely return again and again. Devon is really friendly, attentive and knows his stuff. He makes me feel very welcome and always has a cheery attitude! 5 stars, if I could put more I would!

Pippin is always great! Becoming a weekly thing now. The grandchildren love it here, as do I! Devon is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly!

Great friendly atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon game of darts.

The environment is nice, but downloading an app on my mobile to order food is a bit over the top. If someone is local and goes to this establishment regularly, so be it. However, for tourists, this method of ordering is somewhat useless. After all, the waiter was present. We preferred to eat elsewhere.

I always enjoy visiting this nice and quiet pub. There is always a quiet place to sit and enjoy your meal even when it's really busy. Good parking space, wheelchair friendly as well

Lovely night in the New Pippin. I was looked after by Jay who was most friendly. Excellent customer service and will be back. Totally recommend it here.

Nice place, nice atmosphere. The only issue here is getting served ! You can stand at the bar for 10 minutes with nobody appearing. I have had to open the kitchen door to get someone to serve me, really poor. If your thirsty go to the next one because by the time you get there you will be served there before you would here ! This isn't a one off its a regular thing.

Walked in and asked the bar how to order. Ordered at the bar. Food arrived very quickly, was cooked very well and the staff were great! Had good music playing at the bar too.

Visited The New Pippin on Thursday evening with a friend. BOGOF on selected food and drinks, excellent value for money and very friendly staff. Great feel good atmosphere. Keep up the good work!

We visited on Friday evening to treat the grandkids after their week at school as we quite often do. 4 adults and 5 children. When we arrived at 5.30pm It wasn't particularly busy, plenty of empty tables. The menus were disgusting, most of them sticky and difficult to even open. The service was appalling, we waited and waited for our food to arrive, most of which was barely warm when it finally arrived. Ordered desserts, which again after a LONG wait, were brought out 2 at a time with a long delay in between. It was over half an hour from the first to last being brought out. Finally left at 8.15pm after the last dessert. Almost 2 and half hours to have a meal that was mostly cold and considering most of the items ordered were on the BOGOF menu, we had a bill of £156!

Buy one get one free on Coors is awesome! Shoutout to the bartender Bluejay. My table was a little dirty and she cleaned it good. No one else can wipe tables like her. I also ordered 2 Halloumi Flatbreads (also one the buy one get one free) the chief John did an incredible job. The flatbreads were like delectable liquid gold on my taste buds. The only problem I have is that I didn’t get more. Will definitely be returning.

Food was good and staff were friendly and welcoming. Pub wasn't overly busy which is always nice as it ruins the ambience. Staff were attentive and helpful. Food is the usual Greene King range, was served quickly and hot. Pub itself is clean and sports on the tv as well as a pool table & Dart Board.

Went here on Xmas eve Evening with family and friends, young men serving were really lovely and very helpful..

Avoid! Go to the Devon just 5 minutes down the road. Trust me

Food was bad but the manager was really nice, he helped us out with our food and the problem and probably deserves a pay rise!

Went to the kids Christmas craft afternoon today with my son. It was well organised and plenty for the kids to do. The atmosphere was great and the children had a great time.

We had a family party here last night all of the worker are very helpful but Cedric in particular was so friendly and helpful! And is a asset to the team thank you Cedric

The food and service were both excellent for the price. It was great for a family gathering.

What a great place to enjoy wide variety of food, plenty of tvs to watch great selection of sports, also have dart board and pool table and even a grabbing machine to win the little ones a teddy or 2, staff are amazing from cleaners to management, they are so friendly and welcoming and always willing to go that extra step.

Had to send Half of my Sunday Lunch Back. Cold and NOT enough Gravy even though I paid extra for Beef Dripping Gravy. Must of Dripped on the floor on the way to my table. My concerns were ignored by the waitress. Will NOT eat here again. Safe to say its the end of the GRAVY train for this pub. 😒

Popped into the New Pippin for some dinner as we were popping by. Ordered at the till and food was on the table within half an hour. Really hot and filling portions. Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff.

Mac made the service and atmosphere of New Pippin so much better than i’d expected. He served quickly and efficiently along with bringing a smile to all our faces with his positivity and conversation skills. Mac made our visit so much better than i’d hoped it would be, 10/10 food, drinks and service. Definitely recommend.

The pub we usually use, the kitchen was closed due to maintenance work so we called the New Pippin the phone was answered within a couple of rings and booked a table. We arrived and ordered the food and it was very nicely presented and very tasty. As I drink zero alcohol I had a nice range to chose from. All in all, great value for money.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making me feel right at home. The staff here are truly wonderful, but I have to give a special shoutout to Yvonne. She is an absolute gem! Yvonne greeted me with the kindest smile and made me feel like a regular even though it was my first time. Her warm, welcoming nature and attentiveness really set the tone for the evening. It's clear she genuinely cares about the customers and goes above and beyond to ensure everyone has a great experience. The rest of the staff were also incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that our drinks were always topped up and that we had everything we needed. The service was impeccable, and it made our night out that much more enjoyable. If you're looking for a place with great vibes, excellent service, and a team that treats you like family, the new pippin is the spot. Service was amazing and all staff were happy to help and on the ball with making sure everyone had everything they needed. Only planned to have a drink with lunch but the staff made us all feel so comfortable and welcome we ended up staying for a lot longer than planned!

We’ve had a stay near University Hospital and have tried all the places for best pies and this is it. Best gravy and peas and mushroom bake. We prefer vegetables and being vegan and the other nearby pubs don’t offer good choices. The bake pies were delicious and the staff was friendly and the place was super clean and quiet. They have recently remodeled. Large Televisions in every room. The prices were the lowest 12.99 pounds for 2 mains M-F. Woo hoo!

Staff are always so friendly and top customer service, especially Cedric with his top cocktail making skills and magic trick haha. A little hiccup with our food order but it was sorted quickly for us all.

Went down to enjoy the steak meal at half price Monday to Wednesday.Lovely sirloin cooked as requested. Served on a skillet. I could hear it sizzling long before it arrived at my table and service was quick.
