Not a particular fan of Sunday roasts especially those outside the home, but ate here last month for Mothers Day and was amazed! Food was excellent with crispy roast potatoes, excellent yorkshires and a large variety of veg. Last Sunday we had the opportunity to try the take home version. Items are separated with instructions to heat slowly and again the result was excellent. The pub itself is old and full of character. There is also a garden out the back with excellent views which we intend to visit this Summer. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

This is a great pub. The pub has a great view, a great atmosphere and great food! The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the parking. Apart from that, would highly recommend.

The one star is just for the nice pate. Other than that the whole experience was horrible. The longest service I have ever experienced. The food: lamb roast dinner - lamb tasted of nothing. Yorkshire pudding was cold. Roast potatoes harder than rocks. Vegetables- wide variety ( green beans. Carrots. Cauliflower. Broccoli. Sweetcorn) however only two carrots per person and 2 green beans was very disappointing. No one came to check on us so we approached the bar to pay the bill, I told the manager how I felt and how disappointed I was he didn’t really care or have anything to say except he took half a roast dinner off the bill. I hate to moan but I am shocked at how bad it was.

As soon as we got into the pub it was rammed. Everyone was drunk. No one was wearing masks and no one was social distancing. There were multiple massive groups of over 6 people getting drunk and heckling anyone that walked past. We Booked a table for their outdoor area. On arrival none of the lights worked so was left sat in the dark outside in a tent. One of the workers admitted that they’ve been breaking covid regulations. They said they ‘can’t be bothered to follow the guidelines’. We asked if we needed to order food with our drinks and they said no and that they’ve been serving people as many drinks as they like. Overall, we stayed for about 5 minutes.

We recently popped in here on the way back from Stowe. A day or so before we decided the children would need feeding on the journey home so booked our party of 6 for half 2 and this was no problem. The children had battered sea bass and chips which was absolutely beautiful and they hoovered it up! My dad had a great dish of beef cheeks and the pies and burgers were good too. The chap serving was really friendly and we had a lovely meal. Didn't feel rushed either despite sitting down later than the usual lunch time. If I had to be super picky I'd say the conservatory doors needed a dose of windex but we had such a great time I'd probably have done it myself if a bottle was lying around! We'll definitely be back next time we venture to Buckinghamshire.

This is a family run village pub with a great traditional pub atmosphere. The staff here are particularly welcoming and friendly and the food can't be faulted. There is a very good menu, reasonably priced for the quality of the food, which is certainly a grade above standard pub grub but at the same time doesn't fall into the trap of being over fancy or 'gastro' - indeed it's a nice balance between the two. Difficult choice with several 'want to have' items on the menu; eventually opted for the Honey Glazed Pork Belly (£14.95), a personal favourite, which was perfectly cooked and delicious and came with a generous portion of braised red cabbage and a nice bubble & squeak cake which incorporated several vegetables. There are four handpumps with varying ales, and they try to feature something local. To the rear there is a pleasant beer garden with good views across rolling countryside.

Laudable lunch at Lowndes Arms, as a group we ended with clean plates - enjoying fresh Nutroast for vegan, Two Sunday Beef roasts with all the trimmings , Lamb roast also a beef burger meal. On draught we had Wadworths 6x, Bierra morretti. Chocolate brownie , waffle with butterscotch sauce and coffees. Decor was fine, comfy seats , gents toilets well maintained . Amiable service and good food.

We were made very welcome when we arrived at the Lowndes Arms, somewhere I had not been for many years. It was quiet in the restaurant, which suited us just fine. The service was attentive. We ordered the fish specials, hake and monk fish. Both dishes were cooked to our liking. I would encourage more local people to support the hard working family running this pub/ restaurant by giving it a visit and trying the excellent food.

We booked this place as we had the chance to go to Silverstone at the last minute so I went onto booking.com and luckily I found this place with a double room. Think someone had just cancelled and we were lucky to get a room as all other places were either fully booked or very expensive. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon about 5pm, checked in and got shown to our room which was room 7. The rooms had recently been decorated. It was quite a small room but we were only there for one night. Coffee and tea making facilities were in the room which is always nice. The en suite was quite small but plenty big enough for our short stay and towels were left out. The bed was really comfy too. The only downside to the room was that there was no mirror, only in the bathroom and like to use a mirror when drying my hair and getting ready etc. We ate in the restaurant as it saved going out looking for somewhere to eat and had a really nice meal but the best bit was the Unicorn gin. In fact I had 2 of those. There was a beer garden which was being used for a private function but it also had its own bar. There was also a car park at the rear which was handy. Breakfast is not available but we didn’t worry about that anyway as we left very early to get to Silverstone. We were told to go a back way as less traffic and within half an hour we were at Silverstone. We had a slight problem as we had booked through booking.com and paid by PayPal but when we arrived they took card payments again ( which they said was a virtual payment and nothing would be taken) but another payment came out 2 days later. A quick phone call to both parties and booking.com immediately refunded the second payment. Would recommend to anyone looking for a short stay. Suited our needs perfectly.

We went there on a Sunday lunchtime. It was quiet. We did not know why because it was very nice. Staff was friendly, the food was delicious and good choice of drinks. They have a lot of areas to choose from to eat. The snug in front, a more cosy dinning room. A green house that is a little basic but nicely decorated and a good beer garden. It is not a premium page but very nice. I had smoked cod which simply delicious and the fish flaked beautifully. My boyfriend had scampi which was all nicely made. Would go back.

Four of us. Food was okay, really nothing special, but prices are too high for what we had. It's a pub and the food is not that great. Website showed venison, but menu had none and was disappointing. We were there for quite a few hours as waiting for the restaurant to open up. We were hence the first customers. We ordered loads of extras, but only one starter, so time for the chef to prep, but service sooo slow. Seabass was the most disappointing main meal. Didn't moan as saw no point in it and it wouldn't have got us anywhere, hence this post. Good beer, so go there for drinks, but elsewhere for food.

Interesting pub with good real ale to drink. Prices were too high especially the desert prices. £6.95 for a crumble suggests a cook who believes their deserts are high restaurant class. If twits pay £6.95 good luck but we will never pay that much. Main courses were a half rack of ribs which was one of the better prices options and nice. My pie of the day was nice and enjoyable but at £13.95 the cook lazily presented mash and peas as the vegetables. Never had just peas as the accompanying vegetables for a pie dish. Why because they are quick and easy. You are charging enough so give the punters more than just peas. Would we return probably which indicates what we had was good.

Just a joke of a place. Atmosphere felt okay, nice location and the bar maid was lovely. The food was the worst I’ve had for a long time. Awful steak tasted like a slice of reheated Sunday leftovers. When I mentioned this there was no apology sympathy or care. We left the nice waitress her tip but would never eat there again. Arrogance and poor food knowledge prevails.

Visited this pub on Saturday evening with our friends after getting fed up of the poor service and food from our local. We were immediately made to feel welcome. A couple of families offered to move to another table so that we could sit together as there were 8 of us. Then a member of staff moved another table onto the end for us. We ordered our food which was all freshly cooked and tasted amazing! Our waitress was great, popped over frequently and asked if we needed any more drinks etc. Beautiful garden out the back which overlooked the countryside but unfortunately it started raining as we got there so couldn’t take advantage of that. The kids played out there for a while though as there were a few toys and a garden house. All in all a lovely, welcoming village pub with great service and excellent food. Will definitely be returning!

We had a delicious Sunday roast here today. Our food and plates were piping hot. Our order arrived very quickly and the portions were very generous with a lovely side order of assorted vegetables too. The gravy was just right in its consistency - would have probably chosen to have it served seperately rather than poured over my meat, but a very minor point.

I stayed here for one night over the Moto GP weekend at Silverstone. It's about 15 miles from the circuit which was ideal. Single room was £60. Room was simple with TV, wet room/ shower. For an overnight stay it was fine. I arrived about 7pm, and was advised to order food as it was getting busy. Food was good, quick to arrive and the homemade burger was very nice as was the Guinness. We were a bit unsure of visiting after reading some of the comments but decided to take a chance and we are glad we did! The website is a bit sparse, however I emailed and got a quick response. We received a warm welcome from the landlady who showed us to a table in the restaurant. The menu is varied and includes some unusual dishes. Clear explanation to a query. The food was very good. We had the tomato & Mozzarella with walnut crumble and game pie - both delicious. Then I had the Chocolate Brownie, oh boy was it good! It was so light and honestly the best I have ever tasted. The 'New' Lowndes arms has recently reopened, the new owners (Mark and his family) have done a tremendous job in turning around yet another country pub destined for permanent closure. The venue has been tastefully revamped in the theme of a hunting lodge, the staff are first class and attentive, it's a family run business and as such they all endeavour to ensure customers come first. The view from the garden is, in my opinion the best in Milton Keynes. There's a variety of locally sourced real ales available as well as the normal beverages available in any other establishment. One plus point and in my opinion, an important point, is that this place really does have a village pub feel about it, where the locals are friendly, and it doesn't have the sanitised ambience of large chain 'estate' pubs. I've not eaten there myself but I've heard some very good reports from people that have. One more point to mention, the New Lowndes is only a short walk across the fields from the North Bucks Way, at Kingsmead and Oxley park. An ideal summer evening walk for dog owners, and of course dogs are welcome in the pub.

Came in back entrance so saw no signs about needing to register parking, staff also said nothing . Later sent a letter informing me I had a £100 fine for parking in their car park. Phoned pub, who said to appeal and would pay ‘admin fee’ only. Appealed it, sent a very formal letter informing me id still need to pay £20 else a debt recovery agent would get involved and given for the appeal I had to give my address not particularly friendly warning. However now given this situation thought I better leave an honest review, to help others wondering whether to visit. The pub is not dog friendly - mine had to stay in car, first pub experienced that in years! Food nothing to write home about, extortionately priced for what you get. Somewhere I’ll remember not to return to.
