Ellie was our server. We had a group of 30 odd for a retirement party. She smoothly took all our orders at different times as people came in dribs and drabs. We mostly got our food at the same time. It was hot and very tasty. No complaints. And did it all with a smile. Thank you for your professionalism and understanding. 😘

Very very disappointed 😞 , ordered goats cheese to start, didn't taste like goats cheese and when queried with kitchen was told it was cream cheese with goats cheese & lemon!? Dishonest, not what was on menu. Ordered steak medium rare, barely seasoned, very rare & chewy, sent back, offered alternative and burger was OK though waited another 15 minutes and partner had already finished his main, food was taken off bill but still feel really unhappy particularly with starter issue ... 😑 Shame as have had nice meals previously

Went here to celebrate my wedding anniversary and foods were fantastic!My husband , friends and me were amazed! Cozy place to dine in.

We came go the Woolpack for the first time on the 7th of April to celebrate a family birthday. We were served by Martyn. Not only was the food fantastic, but Martyn ensured that we were very well taken care of and that our special requests were catered for. He was friendly, engaging, and a lot of fun We highly recommend this venue, and hope that Martyn is highly valued as a member of their team.

Eat here on occasions... as don't live locally... but always very good... restaurant, food choice and quality etc, drinks range, service very good... by Kate on visits..... price is right... can't fault... never disappoints

Food was excellent. Martyn provided great service. This was especially the case as it was Sunday lunch time and the restaurant was busy and full. All staff helpful and accommodating. Overall good value - would definitely recommend.

The Sunday Roast main was faultless and absolutely delicious. However dessert really disappointing Poached Pear almost too cold to eat and lacking flavour. Apple tartin lovely but could only eat apple and ice cream as pastry base soggy and unpleasant

Just back from Sunday lunch, & have a number of comments to make. Good points 1st - : the fig & dolcelatte roast was very nice, & Meg was absolutely delightful. The less than good is, unfortunately, a rather longer list......... 1st of all the young lady who checked us in & took us to our table was unengaging to the point of almost appearing surly - no smile, no eye contact, no attempt at rapport. Secondly, the glass of red wine we ordered had bits floating on the top - possibly due to the glass not having been cleaned properly? Then the roast chicken arrived lukewarm, & by the time a replacement portion was provided the other diner had had the embarrassment of eating half their meal in effect alone. The final straw was, as we were leaving, to overhear 2 members of staff gossiping about customers at the clearing station. Such a shame - this is a lovely venue & has so much potential to be amazing, but on this occasion we feel very let down

Food was great. Went at lunchtime. Disabled parking bays. Disabled toilet. Radar key- can request behind bar. Well priced. I had crab on sourdough (starter but I had it as a main) & my husband had sausage & mash - very tasty dishes.

Just spent a lovely few hours being waited on by Nicholas. Such a warm, friendly place to enjoy a delicious meal and time relaxing with my family. Thank you for an enjoyable evening :-)

Had a very enjoyable lunch with my father. Nice and quiet that day, staff all very helpful and nice choices on the menu.

Went to celebrate our son’s birthday, for a Tuesday night it was busy, pleased we had booked. Good variety on the menu, we had steak, pork and fish dishes all very good as were the starters. Dan was friendly and helpful, all in all an excellent evening.

After a long day visiting a relative in hospital, I just looked on TripAdvisor for somewhere very local to eat (with some decent reviews) and up popped The Woolpack. Three of us here to eat and I can report that this experience was exceptional. We were eating early (so I can't predict how they cope when really busy), but things were great for us. Crispy duck with noodles, rainbow slaw and mango was exceptional, as was the Belly Pork with Scallops. Service was friendly. Very glad we visited.

Go here sometimes for a drink after playing sports with friends. Every time we go we are reminded why we prefer the pub next door: the staff are rude. They make you feel like you're an inconvenience. Moments after walking in (say at 10.15pm) they make it abundantly clear they don't want you in there. Reluctantly they serve us, but remind us they close at 10.30. Why are they closing so early anyway? A reasonably polite "last orders" call is soon followed up by a rude bark "drink up now please". This place simply do not act like they want to be in business.

Nine of us went for my daughters 50th birthday meal, we all enjoyed it, lovely place to go for family meal. Have always been happy with meal and service

Firstly, the food was very good although portions for starters and desserts were rather small considering their price. However being on a Saturday night when we wanted a relaxed meal we were rushed and had completed three courses in under 45 minutes. No sooner had we finished our starters than the main course arrived. On finishing, the plates were immediately removed and the dessert menu came. Desserts were on the table within two minutes of ordering. Thankfully the bill took a while to arrive so we had a chance to relax, but everything for our anniversary celebration was completed in just over an hour.

Reasonable value... Food was very nice., but bill was £30 overcharged.. They put a "descretionary" tip of 10% on.. Then when you pay by card they ask for another tip!... Bit cheeky.

Absolutely fantastic food & service as always! Really hard working staff that are a credit to your pub. All worked extremely hard and was a very smooth experience for us. Thoroughly enjoyed it and they cater for my celiac Grandma with lots of choices which is great. Amazing restaurant & atmosphere highly recommend Thankyou

The Woolpack has a good atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. The food is excellent along with the service and you do not feel hurried. Would not hesitate to use again and again.

As usual we are able to choose where we would like to sit . A sumptuous lunch served by our favourite waiter Martyn. A great place to take the family out for lunch or with your best friends.

Martyn the waiter was great. The food was good, chips were a bit overdone & the mushy peas appeared to be garden peas mashed but all was hot and freshly cooked. The fish delicious, the duck wax cooked well too. Very satisfied and would go again

Both my wife and I are not the easiest to accommodate, I am vegetarian and get fed up with the usual fare (Burger, Pizza ) and she eats no carbs, this meal though was good, I opted for the Pizza (I know after saying that!!)...

There's a cosy feeling eating here on a weekday lunchtime. I really love the vibe. I think it's the staff. They are super friendly and genuine. It's spacious, modern feel, is slightly unusual and I like it a lot. Great cookery here too. This is a great pub for a lovely lunch.

Had the most fantastic beef roast, Sunday 4th Feb. Service was excellent by a lovely gentleman called Martyn, made our lunch very enjoyable. Friendly service, excellent food. Would recommend the roast.

Food was fine, service from Kate and Daisy was attentive and they did want to provide a happy visit. The chefs, Billy and Argen , were on form too. All good, though can be noisy. Portions more than adequate. Happy to recommend and will revisit.

Have driven past this place 100 times and always wanted to go in there, but the opportunity never arose. Finally visited on Saturday 20/1 and I regret not coming sooner. Nice pub/restuarant. Good atmosphere, food was delicious. Only thing I would say is the food took a little while to come out but it was worth the wait.

Reasonable food, better drinks. Nothing to really wow one. Would we return? Probably not. Also three small things which were a bit off. Seating customers before the table has been cleared properly and cleaned. And bringing condiments to the table with cellophane on the cap. Also, we sat on a table with downlights so bright it was like having a car parked above us with full beam lights on. As said small issues, but back to back just a bit meh!

Had an amazing Sunday lunch here with family. Best lunch I've had for a long time. Two large slices of succulent tender beef and plenty of vegetables. Excellent value for money at just under £20. Would highly recommend.

We went in on the off chance on a cold January lunch. Pub was lovely so warm and friendly fires were on and was really cosy. Service and food were both outstanding we will definitely be coming back.

Portion size was great. Range of options, great. Cater for coeliac dietary requirements with ease. The atmosphere is nice. The staff are polite and work quickly. The wait for the food wasn't too long. The roast was delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection!
