I took my mum for a meal at the Woolpack as an early Mother’s Day present yesterday, what a great pub ! Loads of atmosphere and great service from Saffi and Reece who looked after us. Many thanks we will be back soon Dylan

Visited the Woolpack recently with my 6 week old baby. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, which was so helpful for keeping my baby asleep so I could eat in peace. The waitress, Saffi was so attentive and helpful, especially with assisting with baby changing facilities and ensuring I could breastfeed in comfort. Great food, and attention to my allergies. I will definitely return soon,

We were passing amd popped in - what a find ! Great atmosphere - Great Food and really Great Service from the team... Shout Out to Saffi ! ( hope i spelt that right ). Really bubbly, friendly and helpful and added that extra element to our lunch and visit. Will be returning soon !!

Had an amazing time at the Woolpack on a trip back to the UK and really glad I took the advice to try it out. Food was amazing and I think what made the evening extra special was the best service ever from our sever Saffi - cannot say enough at how attentive and polite she was. I Look forward to returning back there when I make it back to the UK

We stopped here for a meal for my birthday, I asked if they had a table because I hadn't booked they were very accomadating, are waitress Saffi was very good as we have a dairy and gluten allergy. Food was lovely we had a great time thankyou very much to Saffi and all the staff for a remerable birthday meal.

Found this Gem of a Pub a couple of months ago and was very pleased I did, full of charm nice beers and lovely food our Hostess Saffi was charming and very helpful in recommending in choosing something to eat...a lovely bubbly young lady clearly dedicated to her job which made our experience more enjoyable! We will be back after our travels in Costa Rica... 😎

Food was very bland. One of the worst burgers I've ever had with tasteless, cold chips. Opinion rings were good though. Service was reasonable. Decor was nice, atmosphere was ok. I had high hopes based on its appearance but did not meet expectations sadly.

Sunday roast at the woolpack, service was excellent staff were busy but they accommodated us exactly as we requested. We did not feel rushed we had a good space between courses everything was just delicious. 1010 all round

Had a fantastic meal at The Woolpack! Our waiter, Jordan, was excellent—friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. We started with the scallops, which were perfectly cooked, followed by the lamb rump and sea bass for mains. Both dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavor. The service was faultless, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We’ll definitely be back!

Such a lovely evening, was greeted by Luca who was very warm and welcoming. Offered drinks as soon as we sat down. Food was out very quickly and the staff were very efficient and attentive. The cocktails we had were really good and even saw the bartender doing tricks quite a show. I had the lamp rump and my partner had the mushroom risotto and mac and cheese so delicious.

We came for a great Sunday lunch, the portions were big, the food was tasty and there is always a great ambience! Davina was lovely to chat to on the bar and very attentive. I will definitely be visiting again

We have eaten at The Woolpack previously and so decided to try their Sunday Roast. We ordered a trio of roasts and a junior roast beef. When they arrived both meals potatoes were not sufficiently cooked and had raw centres. Both meals were replaced but we then realised that they were not complete. One had two slivers of parsnips as the only veg in addition to the potatoes. The trio of roast was then without the crackling or stuffing and neither had greens as described on the menu. Having already sent back once we felt uncomfortable with asking for a third replacement. The Woolpack is toward the higher price end of roasts we have tried locally and sadly not value for money for either content or quality. We would not return I'm afraid which is a shame as the location is great for us as a mid point for a Sunday walk.

Poor . I suggest you employ a chef . Not a plate warmer . Shame ! As the place looks good . Probably only good for a drink . Quite pricey too. I understand good food isn’t cheap but being charged way over average prices for poor food is a ball ache . Improve or fall by the wayside and go out of business .

We were meeting our friends for a catch-up - we do this regularly at The Woolpack as its easy for both parties. We were located somewhere quiet away from music as requested as requested and both the staff and food were excellent. A very enjoyable visit :)

We recently hosted a 70th birthday celebration for my dad at The Woolpack, and I can't recommend it enough! The service was exceptional—quick, attentive, and the staff really went the extra mile for our large group of 20. We were seated at the back of the pub, which gave us a private, cozy space perfect for our mix of adults and kids. They were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to bring our own decorations and cake, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, like we were being hosted in our own living room. A huge thanks to the team for making this such a special day!

We had such a wonderful experience at The Woolpack while celebrating my mother’s 70th birthday. From start to finish, the team at The Woolpack went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. They were incredibly accommodating and helpful. The food service was excellent, every dish came out at the same time and without a single mistake. The restaurant itself has a fantastic atmosphere, cosy, warm and welcoming. Décor was high end and beautifully finished. Overall, it was an exceptional experience, and I’ll definitely be returning. Thank you to the whole team.

Really delicious and innovative vegan menu, I had the Banana blossom stew. Absolutely delicious. Charlotte was a very helpful and friendly waitress.

A group of five of us met there for a pre Christmas meal. The atmosphere was great and it was busy but the service was excellent. Josh was personable and charming and told us about some of his travels! Thankyou, well worth the five stars.

The Woolpack used to be a go-to for special occasions but the last 3 visits have been disappointing. Poor service, hard work to get served including chasing missing parts of order. Dishes tossed on the table and the portions have gotten smaller while the prices have gone up a lot. The food quality is good but the experience is not any more sadly.

The food doesn’t match up to the ambience and the price. Slightly odd level of service, it’s variable, one chap in particular is quite off and makes you feel like he is doing you a favour. Not sure about this one, definitely other places that are better value.

Had a steak sandwich with salad, wife had a haloumi one with fries. Lovely, washed down with a couple of drinks in an atmospheric old pub. Staff friendly and attentive.

Nice atmosphere, welcoming pub. Good attentive service. Food was mediocre at best, price on the high side. Pub only had 3-4 tables and food still took 30 for scallops pizza and burger (all together) Scallops were decent, well fried. Pizza could have done with a couple minutes more. Burger was not toasted enough, lacking filling, and generally you’d expect more life for £21 on a plate. Sent it back to be topped up. All in all, I’d give it another chance. But if a pub can’t do a decent burger, is it worth trying?

Worse yet, the beef was overcooked and tough for a princely £21. A sharing pizzette starter arrived at the same time as the mains and when we sent it back, the manager returned it back to the table and was abrupt and scowled when we explained that there was no point as lunch was already there. She did not even offer an apology. The only saving grace was the young man who served us. It's a shame the food and manager's attitude sullied our visit, particularly as it was our daughter's birthday. Our previous visit was great we thought we'd come back again to celebrate, maybe not for Sunday lunch.

We had a family Bon voyage meal with our sons. The staff were friendly and welcoming from entering the restaurant. The menu was fabulous with something for everyone. The food from starters to dessert was absolutely delicious for all of us. Staff were attentive without being intrusive and it was very busy and had a great atmosphere. Definitely book genuinely great food.

Was not happy didn't get a chance to sit down was asked if we like water for table was given bottle of water wasn't given a choice cost £4:65 would have preferred tap water this is a lot on top of food bill. Was shown to table by a man to much in a hurry not customer friendly.

Martyn was a wonderful server as always. Food was delicious and prompt and we felt looked after and not rushed at all which was important as my friend and I hadn’t seen each other in some time.

Went for Sunday lunch today! Food was lovely, only comment is cauliflower cheese could have been cheesier! Service was excellent and food came out quickly and presented beautifully despite how busy it was.

Had a tasty meal at the Woolpack. Although the place was packed, the food came out within 15 minutes after ordering. We had pork belly, cod and chips and the lamb rack. All three of the meals were very tasty. The trio of desserts and cheese platter were delicious. Our waiter, Aaron, gave us exceptional service. Thank you for a lovely meal and evening.

Microwave food, over priced. Nice place to meet though if you want to pay exorbitant prices for drinks.

Always a good experience and the fact that they offer the normal menu as well as a roast menu on a Sunday is a bonus.

We had a lovely meal in the woolpack on Sunday.It was probably the best roast I've ever had outside our home followed by tasty dessert. The staff were second to none and extremely friendly.Cant wait to return next time we are in the region.Thank you all for your hospitality.

I recently hosted a large booking at The Woolpack to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday, and I can’t express enough how wonderful the experience was! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly accommodating and attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure that our celebration ran smoothly, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout the afternoon. The food was brilliant and came out quickly. Everything that we ordered was delicious and enjoyed by all our guests. Thank you to the entire team for making my mother’s birthday so memorable!

I've driven past many times and often thought about stopping by. Really glad that we did, the food was excellent, great attentive service and a nice friendly atmosphere. I am already looking forward to our next visit.

Food very good didn't have long to wait service and staff excellent

The food was fantastic. We all agreed it was best meal out we’ve had this year. The flavors was excellent. The menu had choices everyone liked from the meat eaters to the vegetarian to the kids. Ambience was liberty and servers delightful.

Meat was nice green vegetables may as well have been a salad virtually raw, roast potatoes where awful they had been parboiled and shown the oven, the bottom less gravy was very sparse and we ordered pigs in blankets we had to ask where they were and the waiter said oh we've run out and said they'll been taken off the bill and they weren't and we had to tell them about that. Very slow service we had one waiter for 13 people.2 stars are for the dessert they made up for the mains.

OVERCHARGED. We were a group of 4, I didn’t notice until we got home (“Fri evening) that we were charged for 5 deserts but only had 4. Therefore overcharged by £7.95 (sticky toffee pudding). Otherwise service and food was okay.

Chain pub. Terrible food. Half a rotisserie chicken? A dry breast and a leg so over cooked it was hard.

My friend and I have enjoyed 2 excellent lunches in the past week celebrating each other's birthdays. Service was attentive but relaxed and unhurried.

We were travelling between Stonor House Henley on Thames and Bedford and happened across the Woolpack Stoke Mandeville Wow. Good interior, excellent staff. Clean restaurant. Fast but relaxed service. Delicious and well presented food. A couple of issues arose but were immediately rectified. Price level appropriate for quality provision in quality location, by excellent staff including chefs, bar tender and personable table crew. Anything Ive missed, trust that everything was top class including the Latrines. Will definately return.

Went out as a group of friends and was disappointed this time by The Woolpack. Dinner was uninspiring and very basic, maybe I just picked the wrong dish, but £18 for chicken and chips...Not something I'd recommend or have again. Drinks were ridiculously expensive - a cocktail, glass of wine and two lemonades was just short of £30. The Woolpack is a lovely venue, but be prepared for a big bill: over £200 for four of us with a couple of drinks each feels excessive for what is essentially a pub meal.
