We stopped by after navigating Worcester town centre traffic, just before we got on the road home and were very pleased with the place. A really nice atmosphere with a nice split between the 'pub' and the 'dining' side of things. If the weather had been more pleasant I imagine we would have enjoyed eating outside as there appeared to be an impressively sized garden that one or two others were brave enough to venture. Staff were more than welcoming and the food was a real good example of pub grub. Nice experience overall , with the fish & chips going down well. Cheers

My wife and I had a midweek lunch here and were given a warm welcome by Lou and Gabrielle. We enjoyed the 'Lunch Club' menu. Both our starters - Mexican Nachos and Breaded Mushrooms - were excellent. Our main meals - gammon and Hunter's chicken - were well cooked and tasted delicious. With 2 coffees the bill was £22.50 - great value. Thanks!

The Batter on top of the fish was crisp , but underneath it was soggy , the fish was lukewarm & inside it was still wet ! The chips were the best part of this meal , the bread was dry. A menu was stuck to the holder by what appeared to be chewing gum! While not blaming the staff for the gum one can fault their standards of hygiene.

We were greeted by welcoming and friendly staff, despite being visibly busy, it didn’t feel like it in terms of service! Not sure what has happened to this once lovely , busy, family pub. Went in on a Saturday evening for a few drinks and decided to eat, big mistake. Food was horrible, triple chicken burger, no salad, no sauce nothing but a beige tasteless plate of carbs. Lasagna was tasteless & just warmed up in a microwave, garlic bread was cold and stale. Pub was really quiet & just dirty looking, really needs some care & attention.

The service was excellent and the food very good. One of our guests had a lovely veggie burger and the other a regular burger. Both were well received. We had lasagne, ciabatta and salad which were excellent. The beauty was that all the meals were 2 for £9 and as ours were £8.25 each it was almost a bogoff! Good choice of drinks and a nice interior. I went with a large group last night and we all chose from the Festive Menu. I chose beef stew. I received a large plate with vegetables on it. The stew itself was served on the plate in a shallow ramekin. If there was any meat in it I must have missed it. It was just a dish of gravy. I know it not an expensive menu but I still expected to have a complete meal. I didn't complain at the time because I was in a large group and didn't want to spoil other people's evening.

We thought we would give this pub a try, once bitten twice shy! We decided upon the Sunday roasts to be told the pork was off the menu. The beef tasted like a boil in the bag meat with gravy, the lamb wasn't much better. The vegetables consisted of half a new potato, two deep fried potatoes a few peas and carrots and the tiniest cauliflower cheese to share between three. There are no more vegetables as there is no after service, the couple on the next table sent their food back twice. Marstons breweries don't bother with complaints they sweep it under the carpet what a way up keep customers! Won't be going back

This has been our local for over 10 years and we have had some amazing times in here. Unfortunately many of the locals no longer go in there...and for good reason. We have seen several changes of manager over the years and the last one was always going to be hard to beat however Ihave never felt uncomfortable going in there until recent times. On several occasions over the last few months the new manager has been rude to me or a member of my family, I get the distinct impression that firstly he doesn't want kids and families in there which is a shame as I would say this makes up a large proportion of his clientel, and secondly he doesn't really like people. He is increadibly rude, if they forget your drink which happened three times the other night there is no apology or offer to bring it your table it is slammed down on the bar like it was your fault. if they forget to remove your free drink which is part of the meal deal it is made out like it is your fault. They will ignore you at the bar and I have also seen him shout at other customers across the pub and he creates such an atmosphere now that we would rather not go in there. Luckily with the nice weather if we do go in we opt to sit outside as far away from the bar and the manager as possible. The new inn was always the real heart of the area and a place you could go and know it was full of people that you knew and with a good atmosphere unfortunately he seems to have single handily ruined this by his rudeness to just about everyone I speak to. I think he should take a course in customer service.

I really wanted to enjoy our family evening at our local. It would be great to have a pub with great reasonable food on our doorstep meaning you don't have to drive and can have a few drinks. The positives first - the beer is kept nicely and there is a good choice or real alesThe less than positives - we had booked ahead and when arrived asked at the bar where we were sat. No one showed us to our table merely pointing at the table in the corner of the conservatory. When we got over there it turned out that minutes before us another family had arrived and had decided to move us from the table we had been allocated because they fancied it better than what was free. So we had to have a different table nearer the garden door with the draught and banging every time someone came in or out. I did mention this to staff at the bar but they didn't seem to be prepared to challenge the other customers and we were duly made to put up with it.The food was very average, my veggie burger dry and rather tasteless, the bread bun very pappy falling to bits. The sweetcorn side was boiled to within an inch of its life, very watery and tasteless. The chips were fine as were the onion rings. Everyone else's meal was ok - nothing special but passable. We left feeling very 'meh' - more disappointed that we feel Claines/Northwick could and should be able to sustain a reasonable pub with quality homemade grub. This is not it. It's good for a drink and the atmosphere is pleasant on the occasions I have watched football there. I hope the new management keep up the tradition of providing chip butties at half time but we won't eat here again for a proper meal...

Easy to find on the main Ombersley Rd, about 2 miles North of Worcester. It has a lovely big car park across the side street (which gets surprisingly full at busy times) and a few parking spaces directly outside the pub. Buses into Worcester seem to be regular in daytime, but don't know if any run in evenings. Staff very helpful. Even when it was busy, they were quick to clear away empties, and would come to tables where people had menus to take food orders rather than waiting for people to go to the bar. Very popular on a Friday early evening, families and groups eating, people having an after-work drink at the bar, but plenty of staff on so service wasn't slow. They have some tables outside on a paved area, as well as a nice beer garden. Lots of special things on different days.Half a dozen hand-pumps on the bar, and Addlestones Cider (still, delicious) on draught as well as a couple of fizzy ciders. Extensive food menu. We ate there twice. Once was the afternoon special of one, two or three course set meal. We had two courses, for main we both had the cajun chicken which was very tasty, was a slightly lighter main course than some, as you'd expect for a mid-afternoon special. Then for dessert we had the fruit crumble, which was a very substanstial portion! Only slight down-side to that was that it came to the brim in the bowl so very little room for pouring the custard in or even putting the spoon in! The custard wasn't quite enough for the large portion of crumble. Also available with cream. The second time, we had an evening meal, with starters of BBQ nachos and crab & cod bites, both delicious, then main courses of steak, ale & cheese pie, and pesto chicken. The pie was a "proper pie" with pastry on top, sides and bottom, and was tasty, and with a large portion of mash, it made a very filling meal! The pesto chicken was tasty. Both came with a good selection of veg (carrots, parsnips, brocolli, cabbage) which was good. We were too full for dessert. We had a bottle of Chillean red wine which was very nice.If you are eating, you do need to book a table on Friday nights, and probalby other nights too.Unfortunately Keith the landlord is moving soon (end of August). Hopefully the new person will be as good!

I came here recently for dinner and had a hickory steak smothered in pulled pork and cheese. The food was amazing, the steak was cooked perfectly, the service was excellent and the wine was beautiful. I noticed whilst eating a chef with short hair and a cute beard come out of the kitchen to get some napkins and i must say he was very very very good looking. I know that having good looking staff isn't a necessity in any business but it was certainly a great little bonus and it really put a smile on my face.

We visited this pub /restaurant with my father in law. The staff could and owner could not be more helpful. My husband wanted a devilled sauce for his whitebait, no problem at all, the owner discussed what he wanted and came back with the perfect devilled sauce. The food portions were so big that we could not finish them. This is a an excellant country pub tucked away in the outskirts of Bromsgrove, with really good decor The quality and standard of food is outstanding. If you book beforehand and tell them you have special dietary needs they are more than willing to accomadate your need, (I am gluten free) I cant wait to take a group of friends there

My partner and I visited for an evening meal last week. One of our meals was not what we thought it would be and she was a little bit disappointed, I feel this was down to our personal taste rather than quality. However, the manager was extremely understanding and swapped the meal immediately to something she preferred. He even offered a refund which we declined as I also had the 241 steak. He then came over again after the meal to make sure everything was okay and was very friendly. Great service from a good gaffa. Also, the steak was beautiful and a bargain for 241. We'll be back again for the good food and service.

Went again tonight as they have another new menu (and offer 25% discount on mains on the opening night of the menu) Again we were not disappointed - we had 2 meals from the lunch time special menu 12pm to 5pm £8.50 for 3 courses (less if you only have 1 or 2) - if you think these meals were just small versions of the full price meals think again - they are just the same we had the Garlic Mushrooms x 2 (approx 8 mushrooms a dip and a good deal of side salad) a burger meal - lovely thick burger served with chips onion rings and a dip - lasagne which was a big dish full served with salad and 2 slices of garlic bread followed by a chocolate fudge cake (a hugh slice) had mine with custard but you could also have cream or ice cream and a rhubarb crumble - another bit portion and you could also choose from any of the 3 accompaniments The other 2 meals were not off the lunchtime menu they were the ultimate veggie burger (Vegan version with no cheese and an added a flat mushroom) this can with chips etc and a pesto chicken (new on the menu) big breast of meat sat on a great variety of vegetables On top of this we had 3 pints of stella, 1 pint of cider, 1 pint of coke, 2 lime and soda The bill was still under £50 with the discount £47 which inc a £6 discount) Great value and great food - staff can not do enough for you - very friendly and professional and the landlord is always there to make sure you are OK and things are to your liking Looking forward to our next visit

Fairly standard lounge bar populated with diners and drinkers. More a locals pub than a destination restaurant. Food was good and great value, hard working staff were attentive.

Food was cooked well, the mixed fruit and apple crumble was the best I've tasted from a pub. Well presented. Staff were hard working and polite and friendly. Would definitely return. The pub itself had tables in sections with menu's for ordering food at the bar.

We went along with high hopes, having been pleasantly surprised by two other Marston pubs recently, and bouyed up by so many positive reviews. Sadly, we found both the food and surroundings, as unimaginative and bland as the pub's name. My black pudding starter was served with floppy under cooked bacon and browning limp salad leaves. My partner's goats cheese was merely tipped into a bowl with no attempt at any garnish or such frippery. We both plumped for the chicken jalfrezi which, although the sauce was hot in both temperature and spice levels, the chicken was tough and well over cooked. Both mains were served with an oily, bendy popadom and chewy tasteless uninspiring naan. The service was friendly and efficient. The place was packed despite it being a Tuesday evening - I can only assume because there is not much competition in the area. I so wanted this to become our new regular as we live close by - but sadly not - what is the point of paying for food you can cook much better at home?

My wife and I were hoping to have supper after a service at the cathedral and as we were in the centre of Worcester, looked at several early evening venues for a simple, quiet meal. Each place visited was noisy and lacked any sense of intimacy so we headed for home and decided to give the New Inn a go. What a delightful choice! The pub is relatively local for us and so this was not our first visit but even so we were thrilled at the way they met our every expectation. The welcome was warm, personal and friendly and when my wife made the initial enquiry as to availability of somewhere quiet to eat the waitress showed her where we could sit and bid us come in. Immediately we were welcomed and while we only wanted a simple meal, without drinks, we were treated so well. The food was home cooked, freshly prepared and hot and when we asked for a glass of ordinary water we were offered a jug of iced water with sliced lime - a nice touch. Although busy with diners (and drinkers - this is very much a community pub) we were served with minimal delay. However - apart from the warm welcome and service, what really marked this pub out as brilliant was the ability to provide, in a busy environment, space for my wife and I to have a quiet meal where the strings of tiny lights left up (deliberately) after Christmas gave a remarkably magical feel to the place and provided a magical ambiance. So yes head into town if you want an expensive meal in a `standard` setting - but head to the New Inn if what you want is a friendly, warm, magical evening and where excellent food does not cost a fortune!

We called in here for Sunday lunch and although we hadn't booked, and it was quite busy, we were seated straight away. The menu is quite extensive and has a gluton free page. My wife had the roast pork which was all freshly cooked not frozen, I asked for something off the weekday menu and was told, yes that's fine. Its nice to find a pub with waiter service and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be going back next time with friends.
