We stayed 2 nights above the pub. Pub - breakfast was nice, food and drinks was nice, card payment only, this wasn't nice B&B - by mistake we got the wrong room. This wasn't the biggest problem. That this so called double room was tiny, wasn't the biggest problem. The state the room was in, this was a problem!!!!! Bed broken, very dusty, blinds didn't work properly, so there was too much light in the morning, toilet seat lose, bathroom tatty. I was told, the Landlord is leaving soon. But even than, he needs to care for his guest, as long he's in charge!!!!

Lovely friendly pub with delicious and good range of dinner options. Gluten free fish and chips was perfect! Well-cooked fish and curry options were enjoyed. Great puds too! Highly recommended. We’ve eaten here many times over the past few years and never been disappointed in food or service. Top marks!

First bad point - we turned up to be greeted by a sign saying ‘CARD ONLY’ - had we had the time to go elsewhere, we would have, but we didn’t so had to stick with it. We won’t support a business that refuses to accept cash. Staff were pleasant enough but despite being an extremely quiet night, there was no effort to make any conversation - a proper village pub requires staff to make the effort to at least have a quick conversation, that makes the difference between a pub and a gastro pub/restaurant. Food was ok, nothing special. Didn’t seem very clean in the pub either, everything was sticky and no attention to detail with the cleaning (or lack of). Hopefully we just caught them on a bad night, but won’t be going back again.

Saturday night and despite no other diners the staff were very entertaining and did quite a few take away orders. Passed the pub on the Sunday and it was really busy. Early season so trade is variable but this was a lovely area and the New Inn well worth a visit.

We had a celebratory birthday dinner at the New Inn on Monday evening. All 11 of the party enjoyed our food, and every plate was cleared. The fresh fish and chips were awesome, and steak pie and rump steak were also highly praised. The friendly, helpful service added to make our evening so special. We are already looking forward to our summer holidays when we will be back to this great country pub

Very good pub food. I had a beef pie which was casserole and a puff pastry on top, rather than technically a pie, but it was so tasty I could overlook the culinary interpretation! Fish and chips were good, nice choice of drinks and pleasant atmosphere and service.

I telephoned the New Inn on Saturday evening to book a table and the bar manager went out of way to rearrange tables and fit us in for Sunday lunch. We received a warm welcome and a prompt service. The food was excellent. The meat in the Sunday roast was tender and the portions were generous. One of our family chose a vegetarian option of the sweetcorn fritters and they were crisp and tasty. The desserts were 'out of this world' - especially the homemade cheesecake. We have not visited the New Inn before- even though we live close by, but can strongly recommend it. It was excellent value for money and the Inn definitely had an 'old world' charm to it. We will certainly be returning and will be telling all our friends about it as well. Thank you to all the staff, a wonderful experience

Excellent and quick friendly service, nothing was to much trouble. As it was Friday night the pub was quite busy with locals and holidaymakers so there was a noisy but happy atmosphere. Food came promptly (fish, chips & peas) all good, followed by apple crumble with clotted cream which again was good.

Food was very nice but the service was poor. The meal was so stressful, we cut it short, paid the bill and left. Starter - ordered cheesy garlic bread….. came out, no cheese! Back to the kitchen that went. Mains - one adult meal forgotten and we had to chase numerous times. Turns out the waitress never out the order through properly. The food was home made and it was tasty. Dessert - after already being in the pub two hours, having asked to order desserts and no one coming to take our order, I gave up, went to the bar to pay the bill and left. Such a shame. We visited the same pub, this time last year and unfortunately, a meal was forgotten then too. As a result, we won’t be visiting again.

Great little pub with a host who really cares. Booking is essential to avoid disappointment as the place is very popular. The team catered excellently for myself and my wife. She has to eat gluten free as she has coeliac disease. A range of starters and main courses were available to her with GF bread. All the puddings (if we’d had the space) were also GF. I had nachos and lasagne, she had prawn cocktail and (battered) fish and chips. Compared to the only other time she’s had fish and chips in Cornwall at a well known chefs place these were far superior. Just be warned the village is tiny and parking can be difficult. Don’t let that put you off.

We had eatn at The New Inn when on holiday in October 22. When we visited this time the meal was even better. We both had the rump steak which was on the specials board. The steak was both succulent and cooked to perfection, the chips were sublime and the peppercorn sauce was excellent. We followed this with the beer, butter and marmalade with custard and ice cream. This was probably the best steak meal we had in a long time. Also the meal and drinks were excellent value and the service was good too. Thoroughly recommend this venue if you are in the area.

Booked in for Sunday lunch at this typical old fashioned pub with its open fire (and open door for Covid ventilation!) Service was friendly and we all opted for the roast beef (£12 each). The food arrived very quickly and the plates were filled. Vegetables were varied and nicely cooked. However, the centrepiece - the beef - was very well done which made it a little tough. The roast potatoes were ok but the Yorkshire puddings were straight from the packet. Overall, this was just average - had it been cheaper it would have scored well for value but, at this price point, I think you’ll do better at the Rising Sun in St. Mawes for your roast lunch. Won’t be returning.

Cannot give a higher rating for my food I was really really surprised at how nice it was. Great portion sizes, beautiful taste and hot. Dessert was fantastic too.Only thing that let the pub down in my opinion was the condition of the toilets, it was pretty horrendous, it’s not often you can see the urinals drain from the pipe in to a ground drain. A busy traditional-looking pub, even on a midweek evening, shows how popular the New Inn is, and that is based on excellent cooking. Smaller portions available in some mains, e.g. lasagne (with chips), was a welcome innovation and left a little room for the beer and bread and marmalade pudding. Yum. Pork chunks in the pork and cider pie were cooked to perfection, with the meat pulling apart easily. Good to see locals enjoying a drink at the bar showing all-round appeal.

Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly accommodating staff. Delicious food. Plenty of choice. Some great local draught ales on tap. Quiet peaceful location and just opposite the Elerkey Guest House ( which we would also recommend!)

Veryan is a gorgeous village and the New Inn is at the heart of the community. We were lucky to come here at a perfect time of year just outside the hoards descending and on a sunny day. What struck me the moment I opened the door was the fire burning; it was keeping the pub warm which makes such a difference. A chilly pub early evening is just not very inviting whereas the New Inn is very inviting in every way especially being served and greeted by lovely Tam. Everyone is very friendly and the food is really good too. We loved our prawn cocktails and my lamb tajine was yummy. Portions are generous. We will definitely come here again. There is also a really good phone signal

We had a family evening meal for 7 and it was throughly enjoyed by everyone from a 6 year old to Grandparents. Amazing table service with pipping hot food. I would recommend the beef and ale pie !

The New Inn is all that a country pub should be. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the beer is good. Old photographs and interesting artefacts decorate the walls. The generous helpings of fish and chips were delicious as was the beer, marmalade and bread pudding. Service was excellent. It was a very satisfying evening. We felt well fortified for the mile walk along the lane under the stars.

Having driven by a few times, we decided to book here for Sunday lunch. Its a lovely traditional pub. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The Sunday roast was very good. I tried the Beer, bread and marmalade pudding, a first for me, and it was very good. Would recommend. The only down-side is parking the car. We were lucky and got a space opposite.

A stop in Cornwall not far from a campsite I was staying you will find this Place, it does Bed & Breakfast or passing trade, in this very small village of about 400 or so, the Ale is kept well and the food is also good quality and a small or large potions depending on how much hunger you have. Nice locals to chat for any history and a Beach, Post office and Art Gallery all within 100 yards of this fine lovely new Inn.

We first visited this inn last year and were very impressed with the location, atmosphere and friendliness of the staff and locals and decided then and there that we would return in the future and stay. As we were visiting friends in Truro this week, it was the perfect opportunity to stay and sample the inn's hospitality and we booked in for a night. The whole experience was delightful, the room was comfortable and well-equipped and the evening meal was delicious and thoroughly enjoyable, This, in addition to an excellent breakfast and the thoughtful care from our hosts was the icing on the cake. We will certainly return in the future.

My wife and I stopped for lunch today and were not disappointed. We have visited before and had good meals so our revisit has just reinforced our praise.

Went for an evening meal. My husband had the sea bass special which he enjoyed and I ordered the fish pie. Unfortunately the pie had 3 very small prawns and 1 tiny piece of white fish. The flavour was okay but disappointed by the lack of fish.

We stopped at New Inn for lunch in the middle of what turned out to be a 10 mile walk around Nare Head and on to Portscatho. The fish and chip meal was just what we needed to sustain us. The fish was fresh and coated with a lovely, light beer batter and the chips were perfectly cooked. We requested salad instead of peas which were on the menu and we received a beautifully presented fresh salad. The staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. We will be going back.

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Great place to stop off on our walk. Cakes, drinks and ice cream all good, and with the bonus of sparrows waiting to hop onto your hand.

Absolutely amazing day spent at The Sharksfin for our daughter's wedding last Saturday. Wow! What a venue! From start to finish everything was wonderful. Great service with happy staff who were enjoying looking after us and wanted to make the day special. The canapes were gorgeous and main meal truly excellent. The Chefs worked their socks off. Would highly recommend. Thank you to Lisa and her whole team. You were fantastic! We will be back for a roast very soon 🙂!

Poor service and virtually no vegan/vegetarian options. Asked for a veggie burger which was on the menu, they didn't have any. Asked what else was vegan, they didn't know. Service was very slow and all front of house seemed uninterested and more keen to huddle round the bar chatting. One waitress was particularly rude, I wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend. Lots of much friendlier places in Falmouth.
