The owner was rude and didn't like the fact i asked for a welsh breakfast saying if i wanted a welsh breakfast i should go back to Wales which i found a bit xenophobic and rude ,he was busy flirting with a woman half his age avoid at all costs.

The room was clean, tea, coffee, mini fridge and a kettle provided. Now for the rest. As soon as you opened the door the smell of drains hit you. As we were only using the room to sleep in and no other rooms nearby available available we decided to use the air freshener spray that was in a drawer and grin and bear it. The heating never came on, despite the radiator being set to high and the outside temperature was reading at 8°. No hot water in the hand basin despite leaving tap to run for quite a while. From 7pm we had the pleasure of very clearly listening to the dj and patrons without leaving our room. We went out returning just after 10pm expecting peace due to the newly imposed curfew. Although the dj finished at 10.15pm there were still many people inside until after 11pm when the noise died down for a short while. The music and noise, all though quieter restarted within 10 minutes and lasted until at least 2.30am when exhaustion took over and we fell asleep. If we hadn't been for a meal and a drink elsewhere ( taxi used) we would have driven home. We did leave first thing and won't be returning. The very small car park at rear was full, surrounding streets full meaning we had to leave our car a good distance away.

Avoid this place. Visited and it was empty. Land Lord was rude and at best didn’t have a clue what he was doing. Spent more time womanising with a woman half his age. Very embarrassing. Food is overpriced and at best thrown together, also he seems to pick prices out of thin air. A few lads who did turn up spent more time all together in the toilet cubicle? Mmm I wonder if the Police would tolerate this sort of stuff? It’s a shame as it’s been renovated nicely and could be a cracking pub, just a shame it appears to be mis managed.

Good point - Free drink when we got there, but then to tell us afterward they weren’t doing food didn’t really make it that great. Dog friendly but good luck with the noise. Bad points (and there are many!) - Karaoke wasn’t advertised, loud music all the time into the early hours, manager didn’t seem to care, manager didn’t leave any mention to staff we were staying there, staff were quite rude, loud music all night, Christmas songs at 3 in the morning, loud music, bad singing, no way to sleep. Truth be told I couldn’t wait to leave, had I not had the free drink I would have just left it was that bad.

A little apprehensive as the pics didn’t sell it but what a squeaky clean and modern room it was, quality finishing, attention to detail, well powered shower and most importantly, comfy bed and pillows!

Stayed overnight as working away. 'Enjoyed'the sounds of bad 80s songs and men swearing while playing pool til midnight through the paper thin walls.

Called in on way home, really struck by the outdoor decor to begin with, love the brightly coloured benches...fun!Inside was not a let down, fabulous decoration, really different. Still a few areas to work on at the back.Stayed for the Friday night karaoke, really enjoyed the atmosphere and all staff were really friendly. They’re going to be doing food soon too.So glad we called in, we will be back Highly recommend.

My partner John and I was on our way to Ashover for dinner. We popped in to wait for our family. The bar had a nice ambiance with mood lighting and a duke box for entertainment.Several televisions with a variety of sport were on in the back ground.Something for everyone. A small selection of tasty snacks were available. A clean environment and immaculate ladies toilets.Later a live singer came on.He was great. So in the end we didn't go for dinner we had piazza there. We then danced the night away! There is a beautiful outdoor area, so we will be having some lazy afternoons on the terrace come summer.Very polite bar staff. All in all a hidden gem.Well done Tony keep up the good workJane and John.

I am ashamed to say that I don't visit the New Inn as often as I would like, but that is because of other commitments and not the pub itself; if I had my way, I would be there several times a week, as nobody provides a warmer welcome than Tony & Mandy, nor does any pub I've ever visited have such a homely atmosphere. The unique décor (check out the wine glass chandelier), cosy lighting and comfortable furnishing are as seductive as the excellent range of real ales and ciders and the superb, home-cooked food.

Visited this little cosy pub Sunday for Sunday Lunch, I was really surprised what great value it was, the pub seemed really popular as it was full, and even though i never booked they managed to Squeeze me in, I was with my Husband who was impressed as well, he was more impressed with the Real ale bar, they have 3 real ales on at all time with a traditional cider, The beers were Dukeries Brewery which is located in North Nottinghamshire. The Decor is querky, Homely and the atmosphere was alive.

Came to Bolsover for the day on my wife's birthday to have a pub lunch and to visit the castle. Having read the positive reviews we went straight to the Blue Bell. Walking into the beer garden at about 11.50 we saw that the view on a good day would be spectacular. Unfortunately the weather was bad so in order to eat inside we went to the door marked ‘Entrance’ which was locked. I checked on line and saw the opening time was 12 am (??) so we waited. A few minutes after 12 the back door opened and we entered only to be told there was no food (no reason given). Although there was a sign at the bar, a notice outside would have saved time being wasted. Fortunately there are other places to eat so we went elsewhere.

Really a let down. Wasn’t worth coming. Had a meal in the cafe and feel robbed. Wasn’t worth the price paid. £21 for two mini breakfasts, charged extra for toast and a pot of tea. Not to mention by the time you have got through there stupid ordering and queuing system to pay it’s cold! I really won’t be returning here!
