Character pub, full of characters. Good beers.

Had a stop over here in the van a while ago. Good fun little pub that has a pool table. Bud and taxi service into hebden bridge. 🚐 🎱 🍻

Called early today to break up my first walk in months. Was made very welcome, beautifully clean and decent prices.

There was no food served, apparently for a long time, even though the sign outside said there was

Arrived late after a long day on The Pennine Way. A fantastic welcome we received and a good overnight camp. Thank you.

Camp field available next to pub car park. Pub provides very basic showers, toilets and sink, tap drinking water. Not run as a campsite but a good pit stop if long distance walking/bikepacking. Pub doesn’t serve food on Sundays so eat in Hebden Bridge before the very steep climb up the hill. June 2023

Absolutely love this pub, the camping field is perfect. Always have an amazing time camping here. The showers and toilets are always clean. Highly recommended

Friendly, good food, and for walkers and others an hourly bus every day to & from Hebden Bridge stops outside.

Good old fashioned pub. Great selection of real ales. Locals friendly. Staff great. I will keep popping in, just wish it was closer to where I live.

Not the friendliest of bar staff, but other staff made me feel welcome to my stay at the little sloping campsite. A perfectly adequate and welcome stopover for backpackers

So what can I say, it’s a great country pub 👍🏻

Myself and my Wife went out for a drive to Hebden Bridge and decided to drive off the beaten track. Very much in the mood for some decent pub grub, we stopped here and we were not disappointed. We opted for sandwiches, a bowl of chips, a pint and a soft drink. Under £20 and the food was amazing. The sandwiches were full, tasty and filling, proper chips, onion rings and coleslaw as a garnish. There are some nice outdoor seats and it seems like a good place for walkers and cyclist's to take a breather. Dogs are also welcome indoors. The staff are very friendly in this cosy country traditional pub.

Wonderful location. Top beer, cider and whiskey. Reasonable prices. Very clean. Lots of seating. Locally run with friendly bar staff.

Some good ale. It's on the Penine Way so a good watering hole. They were not doing food when we stopped maybe Covid related.

Plenty of outside space and near the bus stop so easy to get down to hebden bridge. Pleasant surroundings and friendly staff

Pub was okay campsite toilet had no hot water in view of this £90 week was poor value..

A nice pub for mid walk drinks. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed for refurbishment so food wasn’t available. Staff were friendly enough. PB ✌🏻

The people running it are friendly and helpful and the amenities are good and clean. One downside, literally, is the camping fields on a bit of a slope but there are enough flats bits. I didn't have any problems anyway

Operated sensible covid-19 rules. Nice welcome, good service, we had a couple of pints of the Wainright and sat out in the tent cos it was a nice warm day (and we had sandwiches... We were hiking! ) . I don't come here too often but I am sure there was always a mind the step sign on the toilet door. The Covid 19, one at a time sign obscured the mind the step sign. So I tripped over the step... I probably usually did anyway.

Nice little country pub, off the beaten track but worth a visit. Visited for lunch after walk at Hardcastle Craggs, plan to do same again soon, good food and beers.

Nice old fashioned country pub. Scruffy in a good way. Serves food through the day so none of the dreaded “we’ve stopped doing food”.

Great welcome, excellent beer including locals from Vocation and further afield from Moorhouse and Fell, and solid grub. Great work.

Great people. Very nice landlord who served food outside the normal kitchen time because we looked like starving hikers. Good selection of beers too.

Really nice food and friendly staff. Visited while staying in its campsite. Unfortunately one of the beers had run out by about 7pm

Really friendly atmosphere and great food. Only issue was the number of loos and showers for the size of the campsite. May end up queing but for a fiver to pitch I can't complain really

Friendly service. Good selection of single malt whiskeys also providing good recommendations for which to go for. Small selection of ales but the ones they had were easy drinking. Only thing that didnt quite get it 5* was the size of the place quite small but does have a seperate area to sit down and eat. Menu looked interesting but didnt order on this occasion

Small local type pub where everyone knows each other. They have a suprisingly good selection of ales and a pool table in the back room. The bar girl is friendly and the landlord is a bit strange but friendly enough.

Just go and have a drink not enough places like this out in the sticks still open. Bike friendly

I love this pub! Local ale, proper pub grub and a really nice campsite. Me and my husband love to come and stay here to get away for the weekend. It's in a beautiful location, 30 minute walk from Hebden Bridge and lovely staff. I highly recommend a visit :)

I love this pub! Real ale and tasty traditional pub food. Its a lovely country pub that is cosy in the winter. We often stay in the small campsite attached to the pub in our van. Really cheap and a 30 minute walk from Hebden Bridge. Great pub and beautiful location.

One of best Pubs with good food & excelent Beers.

Grim. Unheated on a freezing day with snow on the ground. Also locals kept holding the door open whilst they stood in the doorway for a smoke. Seems popular with the locals but theres no competition anywhere close by. Popular with ramblers due to location high up above Hebden Bridge.

Nice little site . Lovely views. Hourly bus into Hebden Bridge. . Pub serves good pint and allows take away if their kitchen is shut. Very accommodating. Free WiFi in pub.

Highly recommended. Knowledgeable friendly staff, can't wait to go back.

Beers was good but meals poor, all microwaved and tasteless, served in an offhand manner and no "How was your meal" would Not eat here again unless it improved!!

Friendly family staff with real rural community links. They had a band on for one of the nights we were there which was ok. We camped for a couple of nights (which whilst all camping facilities were available; showers, toilets, electric hookups for vans) they were somewhat basic. The views are ok but not as open as you would hope as the small camping area is essentially just a grassed area next to the car park.

Campsite was more building site and no apology. Toilet and shower block were filthy and not heated in minus one temperatures! Very poor.

A great local at the heart of village life - with Bridestone's beer to boot. Food is good quality pub-grub at a good price.

Nice country pub with a very traditional atmosphere. 2 rooms, one with an open fire. Good food and drink at reasonable prices. Landlord and landlady were really helpful and friendly. Wide range of real ales, single malt whisky and other drinks. Excellent base for some lovely walks.

We like the campsite because its rural , attached to a freehouse pub called the new delight that serves and brews real ale serves good grub and its good value and friendly for families , couples and walkers/cyclists. The bus stops right outside to hebden bridge. The pub is friendly with farmers and locals as well as campers. We particularly like the more relaxed style of the campsite with good basic facilities a refreshing change from the bigger caravan/camping club type sites .You can read, sleep as its peaceful. All day bus tickets are cheap and hourly service all through the day. We like to sit, read, visit the shops, cinemas of hebden, cycle the canal or have a pint or two of real ale. There are many walks nearby although we dont go there for walking, more resting and relaxing close to nature.

A fantastic place .Fantastic food. Great people . Picturesque view. I would definitely come here again.

Fantastic family, walker, cyclist friendly pub with a good selection of drink options including a selection of real ales and whisky. Welcoming staff who always try to help and promote a really friendly atmosphere. The food is plentifull and wholesome, proper pub food. The burgers and pizzas in particular are really good. There is a campsite attached that caters for tents and campervans and recently there has been a new shower block developed.

Lovely service each time we have been here. The first time we came we were sitting out side and the owner came out with chocolate bars and cokes. Very nice service

Nice little pub. Just normal home cooked food. We had a meal then took a pizza home. Quite expensive for size of pizza but one of the most tastiest we have ever had.

Great camping, great pub with great beer. Campsite for tents slopes but staff are friendly and views are fantastic. Bus stop outside the pub to take you to Hebden too. Thoroughly recommend.
