Really sorry for the confusing order.. looking forward to the food

One of the best Chinese restaurants in South East London, this place consistently delivers great-quality food, and I always enjoy dining here. The dishes are flavorful, well-prepared, and never disappoint. However, I do feel that the restaurant could do a better job of informing customers when they’ll be closed for an extended period. It’s frustrating to make the journey only to find out it’s unexpectedly closed. Another suggestion would be to consider extending their delivery area. I have a Chinese restaurant that delivers to my home in Brockley, even though it’s farther away. While I understand Chans doesn’t deliver that far, it’s only about 10 minutes from the restaurant, and I believe many customers, including myself, would order more often if they offered delivery to this area. Overall, it’s an amazing spot, and I highly recommend it, but these small improvements could make the experience even better.

Very poor meal. Literally 3 food containers of soy sprouts with no flavour at all. Far from what this place used to be.

The best Chinese takeaway on the Old Kent Road! I've been a regular customer here for many, many years, usually for delivery but occasionally I'll pop in and collect when I don't want to eat/spend a lot. The staff are always friendly, the service efficient, and the food tasty. Menu highlights include fried dumplings, chicken balls, peking ribs, chow mein and singapore fried rice, to name just a few, plus the set meal for one is extremely good value. In fact, at a time where food costs have been ever increasing, Chan's has resisted putting their prices up as much as they possibly can, keeping them super competitive and super busy. Sadly, they have been closed on a number of occasions this year, but always make the effort to put a sign on the shutters and/or a voice message on the phone line informing customers of this and when they'll reopen.

My partner ordered me chicken fried rice never seen a wok it was boiled mush, Kung po chicken absolutely a joke was a tub of spiced water effectively and again boiled chicken and then my partner and daughter pull 3 black hairs from the food Curry sauce was so watered down it was flavourless over all the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever eaten they should be ashamed of themselves. Do not eat from there.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I've been to this family owned takeaway many times over the past year and their seafood ho fun is delicious and reasonably priced. I've tried their other dishes and they're also full of flavour. I would advise to call up and order for collection or order at the takeaway rather than delivery as sometimes the driver is not available.

went here for the first time and the staff was really friendly. the price is good and the food tasted very fresh will recommend to friends to try this place 5 star

Don’t take card payment, but cheap as chips and lovely food. Great on a budget. Either drop in or phone up and ask them to deliver. Very friendly local Chinese takeaway only.

Really good food. Delivery took quite a while but food was still hot when arrived so not that fussed. They have a good variety of sizes and prices are amazing.

Always fresh food, lovely flavours and good portions....not open on Tuesday but treat yourself the rest of the week.....they do delivery service too...yum

I ordered a meal at 6.45 today Saturday 29th April was told 1hr wait no delivery could not get through to the shop after 2hrs they called me about forgot to put order in and do I still want the order I said should be free she said will knock off 50p I will never order from them again complete jockers don't waste your time with them

Bought food just after the Queen had died and they had the news stream on their TV which I thought was a nice way to keep guests updated/entertained while they waited. Food was good as well, ate it all up 😋

I bought sweet and sour chicken, hong kong style, it was poor, if the rest of thr food is like this I wouldn't bother if I were you.

Bought spare ribs in salt and pepper but they were not well seasoned and not as spicy as other ribs I have bought in the area. Seasoning could improve

Food is of a very high quality and the owners are very friendly. There is a television in case your worried about missing the footy! There are 2 benches available to sit and wait but I've never had to wait long for my food.. EVER, and I'm a regular who has been going here for years. I highly recommended you visit this amazing restaurant, they never disappoint!

I've lived on the old Kent Road for seven years and always noticed chans takeaway but didn't go to get any takeaway until tonight. I feel that seven years walking past has been wasted, I could've had fantastic quality food at a reasonable price...I really do think this place is great and I shall be returning to eat some more dishes SOON.

The food in this place reminds me of the tasty authentic Chinese food that I used to eat in the 90's. The food tastes delicious and clean. Not "burnt out oil". Fantastic customer service, they actually listen to the order without rushing you off the phone. I rearly leave a review, but this restaurant deserves it. Cheers!

We love New Chans, they are always quick, pickup or delivery and their Hot and Sour soup is our favourite.

Wow....... I have been ordering from Chans for a while now on & off, I have never had problem with there menu. Actually I would go as far to say that I would of HIGHLY recommended them, until 45 minutes ago. When the food arrived, it was cold, rice was mushy and looked as if it had been thrown together. Special fried rice, no peas no pork. Chicken chow mein full of grizzle, Prawn Vermicelli no seasoning 2 prawns and spare ribs full of oil and fats. I decided to call them to let her know of my dissatisfaction and that I will not be ordering from them again, may I add at no point did I ask for a refund or new food. This lady became very defensive and called myself & my husband LIARS 🤔 with every statement I made about her bad customer service, her reply would be NO NO NO NO and that we were lying. CHANS you don't care about your customers, you do not value your customers! Have used for 10 years from Peckham to Tower Bridge, great food and service and especially the sauces that accompany the dishes....sweet & sour (kids), curry sauce (wife) and black bean sauce (myself) all excellent!
