Nice pub with plenty of parking and the staff are very pleasant, but we were disappointed with the food. If you order the pie just be aware it's a slice and not that big with oven chips that take up more space so overall not a value for money dish.

Have been here a few times of an evening and it's been OK but called in for a light lunch this week and we're very disappointed. I had a pint of limeade that smelt and tasted strongly of bleach. I can only assume the 'barrel' pipes had been cleaned and not thoroughly rinsed. My husband's battered fish was absolutely tasteless. I would have liked a prawn sandwich but it wasn't on the menu, so asked if I could have prawns in Rosemarie sauce in the crusty wholemeal bread that was advertised for other sandwiches, together with a salad. They said this was fine. When it arrived the bread was awful - merely pre-sliced cheap brown bread. Tasteless. The prawns were dry and tough, clearly either inferior produce or too quickly defrosted. The Rosemarie sauce had strong lemon overtones and the lemon taste wasn't evenly mixed into the sauce. The salad was about 1 tablesp of green leaves with some sort of sauce across the top -certainly not dressed. Not even a slice of tomato on it. I'd call it garnish not a side salad. Absolutely awful food. I wouldn't try for a lunchtime again.

Lovely pub with great atmosphere. The waitress who took my order and served me (saffron) was an absolute delight, she was quick and efficient aswell as polite and funny - great at her job!

I love eating here the food is good and the service is friendly and efficient,I would usually give a five star rating.On my last visit it was a lovely day so I choose to sit outside,what a disappointment,same great food and service but the area was very unpleasant.Dirty upholstery,tables that need a good scrub as did the floor.I hope with summer approaching that the area will be given a good clean as it really lets the place down.

Had a lovely time with the family on Mother’s day here, good selection on tap and the roasts were top notch. The staff were also great, really attentive if we needed anything. We will be going back, huge thank you to all the team.

Disappointing . Service was awful , food mediocre . . Waited more than an hour for main meals . Email sent to restaurant to advise . Not even had the courtesy to reply . Shame as have been on a few occasions before with no problems .

We came as a family to celebrate Mother's Day. The staff were really amazing, kind friendly and brilliant with our 3yr old Grandson. The food was exceptional, beautifully presented and was truly delicious. Well done to all the staff including the chefs and kitchen staff, who we never see but deserve our praise. We have been before and the service and food was just as good. So we will be back and we would recommend Netherton Hall to everyone who enjoys good food, good service and a friendly and warm atmosphere.

Managed to eat without booking on a Sunday.(Just about,we had to wait for a table).Nice cosy pub.Not great for gluten free unfortunately.I have included the dietry menu in photos.Service was OK.Only gripe was not enough chips.Desserts are lovely.Plenty of parking.

Very poor service tonight. Food was ok and it's a nice pub but we had to search for staff if we needed anything even though it wasn't busy. Staff were talking amongst themselves , dirty tables left , had to find someone to take our food order then later a drinks order and finally to pay. We probably won't return again

This spot is great for a casual, cozy lunch. Sitting by the fire eating a cheese and onion pie surrounded by old photos and memorabilia takes you back. The food is delicious, the staff are lovely especially Halle, great atmosphere. Will be back soon.

Food was excellent ...fish and chips was really good one of best fish ive had ..my partner had the club sandwich which was huge and only £7 ...would recommend coming for food 💯

Been often recently with family and friends taking good use of the vouchers offered in Jan , Feb , Mar at here and the other local The White Lion at Alvanley. Enjoyed every visit.

Cracking meal for all of us last weekend. Some had the roast dinners (as it was a Sunday) with the biggest yorkies I’ve ever seen. I thoroughly enjoyed the lasagne…clearly home made and totally scrummy - and I managed to snaffle a cheeky yorkie for myself… hence the 5stars!!

10/10 - Netherton Hall was the perfect venue for a family gathering meal over Christmas. The team were so helpful and accommodating. The food was great, and they helped us to manage the bill for our large party. There is also car parking at the venue which makes it very convenient. Definitely recommended!

Booked in for a birthday meal for my wife, despite the pub being super busy (Sunday 15th Dec) we were well looked after. We ended up needing a table for 12, however our meals arrived promptly at the same time, and were delicious. Many thanks to Dan and his team, we'll be back for sure.

Had a great afternoon drinks on Xmas day , the atmosphere was great and lovely and warming, special mention to all the staff , not only today but throughout the year who are always on hand to help in anyway possible.Great job by the whole team , thank you 😁😁

Very disappointed with the service or lack of it. No one came to the table to take either our drink or food orders. We had to go & find staff each time we wanted to order & it was not busy. Staff were seen just standing behind the bar talking to each other. Will not be back again soon!

Eaten here a few times and have had very mixed experiences recently. Last couple of times though have been poor. Mixed grill was missing an item and the chips were uncooked. Steak burger was overcooked and dry. Staff seemed unsurprised and to be honest, not that bothered.

First visit for Xmas meal and pressie swapping with some old friends

Everything about here is amazing, the building, the interior, the staff and especially THE FOOD.

Another fabulous Sunday Roast at The Netherton. Gammon Roast was delicious. My only criticism was with the Nut Roast, the portion of nut loaf was pretty small also not given mash or Yorkshire pudding which I totally understand but a couple of extra roast potatoes would be nice to replace these. Staff great very attentive.

We had hopes for this place. Menu looked good but quality was severely lacking. Starter was missing lemon for prawn cocktail. Orders for 2 10oz rump steak medium rare. 1 cooked perfect Nice colour and jucy and the other like it had been defrosted and put on a hot grill for a minute. 80% grey steak with a small pink center. No juicy and not chard at all on the outside. The steak wasn't of good quality. Certainly not a bistro rump type. How it passed to be served is beyond me. Once again frozen Chips. Plenty of them but not the best quality. I really can't understand why fresh chips can't be cooked. If done in advance it only take 5 minutes. Instead we have to put up with mass produced rubbish. Maybe we will try again in a few months. We continue to look for a replacement for our favorite that closed. It was less expensive and better quality

Popped in here on the way back home from Wrexham and this has now become my favourite place. Even though the pub had alot of reservations, they still managed to squeeze us in. The service was brilliant and the roast dinner that we ordered was amazing. I would happily make the trip from Liverpool to here every single week to eat if I had the time. Beautiful pub. Sunday roast here is great, they cater to vegans and it’s delicious with a great atmosphere. My only criticism is that the roast could be slightly larger, a good criticism to have I suppose as it underlines how good the food actually is

This pub is not as good as it used to be. Firstly, menu samey and hardly changes. Decided to give it one last go, very disappointed. My girlfriend tried the chicken tikka kebab. She said it was truly the worst thing she ever eaten. Chicken just warm and worried about getting sick. Pitta bread cold, sauce yuk. She left 3/4 of it. When clearing plates, waitress asked did we enjoy it. My girlfriend said no, and she just carried on clearing the plates. Honestly don't know if she heard. Her food was horrible, but I had cheese pie which was ok, but is now made with puff pastry not short crust. It used to be lovely then.

Very expensive, half a Coke and a pint of San Miguel £9.60!! Food took a while (40 mins) and was very basic for the price. Had surf and turf came with oven chips, small piece of steak and 5 small pieces of scampi £23 definitely not worth the price. Decor was a mismatch and dated looks nice from the outside but tired inside. Won’t be going back

Lovely meal and lovely service from Izzy however we did tell another member of staff that our glass had lipstick on it the young girl (not izzy) i think her name is olivia she swiped the glass back returned with another with no apology or even speak to us 🤨 we will return because the food is amazing and so was izzy 👍

My mum, dad and myself had lovely meals served by friendly staff. The steak pies were absolutely brimming with meat. The chips were cooked lovely and golden brown and the vegetables were just right. Not to mention the huge jug of delicious piping hot gravy. Dad's lasagna was served in a very deep dish. The pasta was cooked exactly how it should be with a tasty mince Bolognese . The side salad in itself was an occasion on a plate. Would definitely recommend. The real ale was one of the best pints in the area.

Food was disappointing, ordered the baked pear with blue cheese, walnuts ,honey and salad. The pear was hard and not baked and no blue cheese. Main course was lasagna which had no taste, only ate half of it. Service was slow. Bar staff were efficient and friendly. Will not becoming back.

My wife and I had a roast dinner and it was superb. Had not been here for a long time but will definitely come more often. Great service and pleasant staff

Called in for a meal ordered the steak pie which is a favourite of ours what arrived was a dried up pie served with watery gravy what a disappointment when we mentioned to the waitress she was totally disinterested as she walked away her she commented I will tell the chef Customer service in this pub used to be so good we will not be back

Called in today for a meal both ordered the steak pie with chips and seasonal vegetables When it came it was dried up with gravy like water and uneatable chips When we mentioned that the food was not good the waitress looked totally fed up and as she walked away she advised i will tell the chef ( I can only presume she had received a lot of complaints) We have had a few family meals here and have always recommended the food .we won’t be back

Food was tasty, the waitresses (the 2 we interacted with) kept misunderstanding what we were saying for some reason or more like jumping into conclusions before we finished what were trying to say. They were both very young looking. Not sure if they work there permanently or just doing a gig that day but that definitely put us off. I felt like I struggled a bit for food options. I’m lactose intolerant and my daughter is allergic to cow’s milk and some nuts. Other than that, the atmosphere was lovely. I loved the flowers and plants at the entrance. The food we had was ok in the end

Last visited this place during eat out to help out. On that visit, the menu was very limited. On this recent visit, it was exactly the same. We chose 3 times a main from the menu, and each time we're told they didn't have it. The service was shocking, and the staff looked like they didn't want to be there. The food we eventually were able to order was ok but nothing special. The desserts' choices again were limited. There was not much available on the menu. It's not great, and I definitely can't recommend it. Why have a menu if half of it isn't available?

Overall a pleasant experience!, The food was well presented and tasted amazing from the starters to the pudding’s we couldn’t fault the foods of our choice - both plates of meat came as requested with the perfect individual cook! - one negative was the 2x portions of onion rings that seemed too many for the pair of us and realised we could of shared one between us. The Extra side of Buttered potato’s and Chucky cut chips went down a treat!. And the desserts! OMG! just incredible!. - Toilets in the both men and womens were kept cleaned and well maintained! - general bar and seating areas were well organised and presented - overall atmosphere was calm and yet welcoming and friendly The two woman and the man that served us (apologies we didn’t get your names but you provided a great customer service) Drinks menu Is that of a general pub nothing fancy or anything that stands out this is not a negative thing at all but I was expecting a in-house cocktail list or something that matched the vibe of the place The Outdoor area seems less of a priority with the odd bench having a little wobble which being a heavier set fella was quite unnerving! getting the odd chuckle from other punters! The one and only thing that made this a 4* review for us was the fact we had to find our own seat on arrival. we was told a table number at the bar and was left to find. We would definitely eat here again!. As we want to try a wet nellie dessert but tonight in the famous words of Boyce “oh no, oh no Del Boy not on your nellie - it was out of stock! was dissapointed today as i have been to the netherton hall alot and i always have the prawn baguette with chips and salad, but today they didnt have it on the menu. instead it was sourdough wedge with prawns on. it was awful and it wasnt a covered sandwich. it was very hard to eat so i ended up not eating the bread. apparently some idiot from head office has changed the menu. not for the better i am afraid. dont think i will be coming back here. such a shame.

Visited this evening after travelling up from the south to visit family locally. Can’t fault the food at all and menu had a great selection and very reasonable prices. I had the Wexford Steak which was cooked beautifully either a piping hot sauce. All of us enjoyed the food and equally could not fault the service.

Great value for money, large portions and excellent location

If what they were aiming for mediocre, then they still have a way to go. The soup of the day was ok, but the other starters were underwhelming. All the mains came to the table cold, except the chips. Service was ok, but if they came to the table to ask if everything was ok, then things could have been rectified. My wife ordered a pot of tea and the pot was filthy, inside and out, which along with the cold food threw doubt over management and hygiene of the kitchen. We packed the uneaten food into napkins and foil for our dog, and promptly left.

We went for lunch ,I'm a gluten free customer /celiac,even though they stated gf on the menu I asked about the gf chips they said they can't guarantee the oil they use would be gf ,? Don't think they understand gluten free properly ,I ended up having gf Field mushrooms with goats cheese on, I had to take the goats cheese off taste not quite right and I was dubious of the salad dressing on salad garnish which looked like it had seen better days , so overall not a good experience,but my husband's tomato soup was good.

Called here for the first time, what a find, Sat outside with a shandy or 2, decided to eat here, so glad I did, I had the roast chicken with blue cheese and mushroom sauce, wrapped in ham, served with baby roast potatoes, and green beans hubby had the cheese and onion pie, omg best meal I've ever eaten, a must, hubby wants go back so he can have it, see you soon, 😋

Called in after a walk around Frodsham and Helsby with a friend. It's a lovely pub full of charm.

Call in for a drink when walking dogs as very dog friendly inside and outside. Have had a few meals here as well with friends and family and everyone enjoyed it well i had no complaints from any of them so must be good. Probably not the cheapest but cheap it not always best Never had any problem parking as good size carpark good beer garden partly covered. Will be calling in again soon

You get so much food for your money here. The staff can't do enough for you and we always bring our kids here and feel welcome. The fajita burger is amazing.

We called passing through one evening as we could see a full car park , which is usually a good sign . Couldnt stop thinking about the food all week, so returned again and again. The manager and the staff are just amazing and have made us feel so welcome that even though we live quite far this is now our weekly favourite place . Great food and service from a friendly team. Eight of us went for after work drinks and food. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food which was served promptly by attentive staff. We will definitely return.

I really liked this place. The staff were all really nice. The pub is clean, well laid out and nicely decorated. Food was really nice - had a steak baguette and a local version of bread pudding. Prices are good considering the quality. I'd very happily go back.

Much changed from last visit a couple of years back, and for the better. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, the food was excellent and a wide range, worth a visit.

Went for dinner with my niece and we weren't sure as we hadn't been before. We were served our drinks at our table soon after we arrived. Our waiter was Danny and he was amazing. I was surprised to see a scotch egg as a starter on the menu. Danny convinced me that this was no ordinary scotch egg and was served with a runny yoke. He was right! It was the most fantastic scotch egg I have ever eaten (and I have eaten a lot of scotch eggs) I had gammon as a main course and my niece had the steak baguette. The gammon was so juicy and tender. The baguette came with melted stilton which my niece can't eat but we were too busy gabbing and she forgot to ask them to leave it off. She told Danny and he said that it wasn't a problem at all. The new meal arrived within 5 minutes. Love, love, love this place and will definitely be going back there again. In fact we've got family visiting from Devon tomorrow and thinking about dinner there again so soon.

My partner took me on saturday evening, it was our first night out alone since having our first baby 18 months ago. So the relaxed atmosphere was perfect for us - being that we normally eat at the mercy of our toddler. My partner had the maple pork belly starter, and steak burger main and I had the special bruschetta starter, scampi for main and a chocolate brownie for dessert. It was delicious - Absolutely nothing to complain about, it was just what we expected and it was plated nicely too. We were served mainly by a young, dark haired girl who I believe was called Sophie, she was great and very helpful and welcoming. It was a fabulous night. We shall return!

Nice food, lots of tables reserved so difficult to get in for food on a lunchtime mid week, would recommend booking rather than just dropping in to make sure you can sample their goods

Lovely home cooked food. Was initially disappointed that the duck had sold out but Danny recommended the steak pie. A great recommendation. Excellent. Full of meat and so tasty. Big portion and tasty. My.partner has the chicken stuffed with blue cheese which was equally as good. Service from Danny was excellent, friendly, prompt and efficient. Another young lady was also very good. Definitely be back and would recommend. So refreshing to find a pub which serves proper food backed up with such excellent service.

On the last three bookings I have made which have been early evening the selection from the menu has been limited due to food out odf stock, example duck and chicken. Worse still is that the order is taken only to be informed later that the selection is not avialable. Complained to the manager who recognised there were issues but unable to satisfactorily state why there was limited food available.
