A great experience all round- good food, friendly, efficient and caring staff, excellent service. The staff seemed really happy in their work and the whole atmosphere was warm and inviting. Definitely a place to return to!

Called in today for a meal both ordered the steak pie with chips and seasonal vegetables When it came it was dried up with gravy like water and uneatable chips When we mentioned that the food was not good the waitress looked totally fed up and as she walked away she advised i will tell the chef ( I can only presume she had received a lot of complaints) We have had a few family meals here and have always recommended the food .we won’t be back

Overall a pleasant experience!, The food was well presented and tasted amazing from the starters to the pudding’s we couldn’t fault the foods of our choice - both plates of meat came as requested with the perfect individual cook! - one negative was the 2x portions of onion rings that seemed too many for the pair of us and realised we could of shared one between us. The Extra side of Buttered potato’s and Chucky cut chips went down a treat!. And the desserts! OMG! just incredible!. - Toilets in the both men and womens were kept cleaned and well maintained! - general bar and seating areas were well organised and presented - overall atmosphere was calm and yet welcoming and friendly The two woman and the man that served us (apologies we didn’t get your names but you provided a great customer service) Drinks menu Is that of a general pub nothing fancy or anything that stands out this is not a negative thing at all but I was expecting a in-house cocktail list or something that matched the vibe of the place The Outdoor area seems less of a priority with the odd bench having a little wobble which being a heavier set fella was quite unnerving! getting the odd chuckle from other punters! The one and only thing that made this a 4* review for us was the fact we had to find our own seat on arrival. we was told a table number at the bar and was left to find. We would definitely eat here again!. As we want to try a wet nellie dessert but tonight in the famous words of Boyce “oh no, oh no Del Boy not on your nellie - it was out of stock! Thank you To all the staff And we hope to see you again!

was dissapointed today as i have been to the netherton hall alot and i always have the prawn baguette with chips and salad, but today they didnt have it on the menu. instead it was sourdough wedge with prawns on. it was awful and it wasnt a covered sandwich. it was very hard to eat so i ended up not eating the bread. apparently some idiot from head office has changed the menu. not for the better i am afraid. dont think i will be coming back here. such a shame.

Visited this evening after travelling up from the south to visit family locally. Can’t fault the food at all and menu had a great selection and very reasonable prices. I had the Wexford Steak which was cooked beautifully either a piping hot sauce. All of us enjoyed the food and equally could not fault the service.

Called here for the first time, what a find, Sat outside with a shandy or 2, decided to eat here, so glad I did, I had the roast chicken with blue cheese and mushroom sauce, wrapped in ham, served with baby roast potatoes, and green beans hubby had the cheese and onion pie, omg best meal I've ever eaten, a must, hubby wants go back so he can have it, see you soon, 😋

Called in after a walk around Frodsham and Helsby with a friend. It's a lovely pub full of charm.

Call in for a drink when walking dogs as very dog friendly inside and outside. Have had a few meals here as well with friends and family and everyone enjoyed it well i had no complaints from any of them so must be good. Probably not the cheapest but cheap it not always best Never had any problem parking as good size carpark good beer garden partly covered. Will be calling in again soon

You get so much food for your money here. The staff can't do enough for you and we always bring our kids here and feel welcome. The fajita burger is amazing.

We called passing through one evening as we could see a full car park , which is usually a good sign . Couldnt stop thinking about the food all week, so returned again and again. The manager and the staff are just amazing and have made us feel so welcome that even though we live quite far this is now our weekly favourite place . Thank you all for such lovely food and good times Carol and Mike xx

I really liked this place. The staff were all really nice. The pub is clean, well laid out and nicely decorated. Food was really nice - had a steak baguette and a local version of bread pudding. Prices are good considering the quality. I'd very happily go back.

Much changed from last visit a couple of years back, and for the better. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, the food was excellent and a wide range, worth a visit.

Went for dinner with my niece and we weren't sure as we hadn't been before. We were served our drinks at our table soon after we arrived. Our waiter was Danny and he was amazing. I was surprised to see a scotch egg as a starter on the menu. Danny convinced me that this was no ordinary scotch egg and was served with a runny yoke. He was right! It was the most fantastic scotch egg I have ever eaten (and I have eaten a lot of scotch eggs) I had gammon as a main course and my niece had the steak baguette. The gammon was so juicy and tender. The baguette came with melted stilton which my niece can't eat but we were too busy gabbing and she forgot to ask them to leave it off. She told Danny and he said that it wasn't a problem at all. The new meal arrived within 5 minutes. Love, love, love this place and will definitely be going back there again. In fact we've got family visiting from Devon tomorrow and thinking about dinner there again so soon.

Fantastic staff food hot tasting delicious definitely recommend it they helped my 90 year old mother who is disabled and very happy visit

My partner took me on saturday evening, it was our first night out alone since having our first baby 18 months ago. So the relaxed atmosphere was perfect for us - being that we normally eat at the mercy of our toddler. My partner had the maple pork belly starter, and steak burger main and I had the special bruschetta starter, scampi for main and a chocolate brownie for dessert. It was delicious - Absolutely nothing to complain about, it was just what we expected and it was plated nicely too. We were served mainly by a young, dark haired girl who I believe was called Sophie, she was great and very helpful and welcoming. It was a fabulous night. We shall return!

Nice food, lots of tables reserved so difficult to get in for food on a lunchtime mid week, would recommend booking rather than just dropping in to make sure you can sample their goods

Lovely home cooked food. Was initially disappointed that the duck had sold out but Danny recommended the steak pie. A great recommendation. Excellent. Full of meat and so tasty. Big portion and tasty. My.partner has the chicken stuffed with blue cheese which was equally as good. Service from Danny was excellent, friendly, prompt and efficient. Another young lady was also very good. Definitely be back and would recommend. So refreshing to find a pub which serves proper food backed up with such excellent service.

On the last three bookings I have made which have been early evening the selection from the menu has been limited due to food out odf stock, example duck and chicken. Worse still is that the order is taken only to be informed later that the selection is not avialable. Complained to the manager who recognised there were issues but unable to satisfactorily state why there was limited food available.

Absolutely had a lovely visit today.. Always a very warm welcome... The food today was gorgeous...piping hot and, tbh just perfection from the Scotch Egg starter to the pie. Not to mention the belly pork starter ...yum! It's lovely to have really well cooked crispy hot fluffy chips ...(fed up of going to other places and having dry reheated chips). Staff were happy to swap out garden peas to mushy peas and Stilton cheese for cheddar cheese on the steak baguette... Just a lovely cosy dog friendly pub...

Dining area poor, seating is very worn condition and uncomfortable. Food again poorly presented, just dolloped on plate. Considering we pre booked table we ended up with worst table possible. We know there are better tables available and walk in guests seemed to take precedence over pre booked. The first time we came here, excellent service and food. Will we be back NO.

Popped in for a lunch on Saturday 13 Jan. The man at the bar was helpful , friendly and sorted a table out. Could not do enough for us. Ordered the Thai fishcakes as a starter , and then the pie for main. The fishcakes were excellent and tasty. However the star of the show was the Steak pie , amazing , so meaty and tasty. Highly recommended. Smart pub , staff brilliant , well worth a visit.

We've been several times and always loved the food, service and atmosphere. Sadly, our last trip was a week pre-christmas. Where food was disappointing and staff already looked tired.

First time in 10 yrs of visiting Netherton Hall I came away yesterday disappointed. Large rowdy group came in , obviously just finished for Christmas. Swearing and shouting across tables and also bringing a dog in to the restaurant area. One young family got up and left but we had just been served so had to stay. Very surprised the management didn't ask them to tone it down a little, kids don't need to be subject to bad language. The food well it was OK, but it looked lost on the plate, no salad or coleslaw Just a burger and fries . Ripped seating didn't look good in the dining area, real shame as I love to drop into this pub. It seems to have lost a little something since change of ownership.

We held our walking group's Christmas lunch here last weekend. They catered for 30 guests and everything was spot on. All pre-orders were served correctly and they were happy to box one up as a takeaway for a member of our party who was ill on the day. The food was tasty, good value, and the service was excellent. I've eaten there previously on a number of occasions and always been happy. They are also very dog friendly.

We have dined here a couple of times and the food has always been outstanding. They have a great vegan choice available, from curry’s to tofu fish and chips. We recently had the Christmas Faye menu, great choice, fresh and quality ingredients. Staff are always very helpful and attentive. One of the best restaurants in frodsham with great vegan/ vegetarian options

This is our go to place to eat in Frodsham. Large menu, and plenty of drinks. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is always great.

Called in on Sunday 19th Nov, after a day doing DIY. They were fully booked for meals and very busy, however a couple offered us there seats sat in front of the bar as they were leaving shortly, we gladly accepted. Both of us ordered the Sunday Roast Turkey with pigs in blankets. The meal came with a jug of chicken gravy, veg,roast potatoes , stuffing and a Yorkshire pudding. Tasted lovely and considering how busy they were we didn't wait too long. Can't fault the staff as they always go the extra mile. As soon as we had finished we paid and left so they could have the table for the next people. Brilliant

Went out for a quiet afteroon beer with Big Dave. Had a great time and was welcomed as soon as we walked in, and the Manager (Mr. Freeman) even came over for a friendly chat even though it was his day off! New menu started that day and the food looked great from what I saw other people having. (We were only having drinks) Will be coming again with friends. - Dan Heywood

Had first Sunday lunch at Netherton Hall, staff were really friendly and the service was quick, had only been seated for a few minutes and the drink order was taken and drinks arrived very quickly, food order was taken and after about 10 minutes roast arrived, plenty of meat and vegetables only small criticism is that the roast potatoes could have been a bit more crispy but they tasted good, would I go back ? My father recently celebrated his 88th birthday, and we decided to dine at Netherton Hall based on the positive recommendations and disabled access. Unfortunately, our visit did not meet our expectations, there are plenty of better places to eat in the area. The food is average at best! Dissatisfactory Food Quality: The chicken tikka kebab I ordered was presented with flair but lacked the expected taste and appearance of a chicken tikka dish. The absence of flavour, sauce, and colour made the dish unpalatable, which was a let down for me, especially on such a special occasion. Chewing Gum Incident: The most concerning aspect of our visit was the presence of chewing gum on the bench seat, which resulted in damage to my daughter's dress. I did not raise this issue during the visit itself, but when I reached out to the staff and management, the response I received was inadequate and dismissive. I have called and emailed with little response, in fact I was told that they don't have the 'kind of customer who chew gum' so I must be lying! The denial and implication that I was untruthful are both hurtful and disappointing. Poor Customer Service: The subsequent interactions with both the manageress and the head office were disheartening. The dismissive attitude and lack of concern shown towards my legitimate complaint and experience made me feel unheard and unvalued as a customer.

Had a fabulous Sunday roast, staff were really friendly and the food was so tasty. You can tell it’s all ‘real food’ as we came away full but not uncomfortably stuffed. I would definitely recommend the cauliflower cheese, probably the best I’ve ever eaten in a pub/ restaurant.

Great Sunday lunch. Really friendly service, found us a table quickly even though we hadn’t booked. Definitely order the cauliflower cheese to top off the roast dinner- it was fantastic!

Staff friendly and always have banter with us when we walk in. Service is efficient and nothing is too much trouble. We often ask for things to be changed on the menu and it's done without fuss.

Family tea at the Netherton Hall was absolutely fabulous. Hanging kebabs were so tasty, my son said the vegan tofu fish and chips was the best vegan meal he’s ever had while visiting us in the 18 months since we moved here. Staff really friendly polite. We’ll done the Netherton Hall we’ll be back and recommending 100%

Food ok and hot. Staff sporadic. Did not come to check if food ok. Never saw one when you wanted one. Appeared to cogragate in bar area. Need to be on floor more. On a separate note, not the fault of the pub. Had the misfortune of sitting next to a woman with a toddler, who was waiting for her husband. Toddler left to scream. Then women, who was obviously fed up or bored waiting, video called her other daughters nursery, then let the two children scream and shout to the other for the next 15mins with no thought for the other people in the pub. She was either deaf, thought she was the only diner or just did not care about disturbing the whole pub. This experience, along with lack of staff follow through made us decide not to visit this pub again.

I went with my friend for a quick lunch and stayed 4.5 hours!! It is without a doubt the nicest pub/restaurant I have ever had the pleasure to eat in. I have been in fancier and had 'finer fancy' dining but none topped this!! Genuinely loved the entire vibe. From the decor to the toilets and all in between!! Lovely service and the food was just amazing. The Gardens are homely and well attended to, too. We really did have the best time. Thanks, guys!! :) Gutted that I didn't take photos of the food!! You will not be disappointed or leave hungry!!

Food was subpar for the price. The 'nibbles' were very small portions and just dropped on a plate, the share 3 offer still wasn't enough to pick at. Chip portions on 3 different plates varied massively. Baby seat wasn't safe either as buckles were extremely loose.

14/06/23. Evening visit and sat outside.Ordered gammon steak and pork fillet.Took a little while to come but worth the wait as it seemed very fresh and tasty.

An impressive looking place with plenty of parking & outside tables. Staff were very friendly and the service excellent although it was a quiet evening so not sure what it’s like when they are busy. Fairly typical menu as you would expect in such a place. Quality was a bit mixed – the battered fish & chips were excellent, in fact, as good as we’ve had in a long while. Their take on a rhubarb & ginger mousse/cheesecake was also worthy of a mention but my asparagus starter was overcooked & the lemon tart a bit dry – so room for improvement. Wines by the glass were very good and well priced. Overall we enjoyed our evening and would probably revisit.

Popped in for lunch whilst we were in the area and enjoyed it so much we came back again the next day! Lovely outside seating area, and nice and cosy inside. Food was amazing, definitely homemade and not just microwaved. Cant wait to visit again and try a sunday roast!

Lovely building with nice outside space, inside was nicely decorated if not a little tired. Friendly staff and although they were busy we didn’t have too long to wait for the food. The menu was quite extensive with lots of great sounding food . The reason for my low score is for the swearing coming from the kitchen there sounded like a good deal of tension was building up and the disappointing food. I had the seafood mixed grill , salmon nicely cooked , white fish which was bland and overcooked and not particularly warm prawn skewer. I know it was busy because of the weather but I would rather wait a little longer and have more attention paid to my meal

The 4 stars is more for the food. Which was lovely. Beef and ale pie lovely and plenty of extra gravy and Chicken Fajita linguine lovely flavour quite spicy. All lovely food. If I could star the service I would go for a 3. Had to wait to be seated (well told of a table number we had to find after getting our own drinks) and the atmosphere was a bit like a wake (it was a Sunday evening). And staff had not a lot of enthusiasm. Lovely food but flat experience. Would give it another go to see if it was just an off day. As every business has them.

Went for dinner. The experience was disappointing from the start. Really uncomfortable chairs, too close to kitchen and corridor. Flies buzzing around tables and on people. Waited 50 minutes for food to arrive. Mine was waterlogged from the vegetables, pork overcooked and dry. Waited 35 minutes for dessert and then had it served on a plate with pouring cream! Should have been in a bowl. Overpriced, bland food, long waits, uncomfortable seats, cold room and generally poor service. It wasn't even busy. Would Not go again.

Nice pub to sit outside in good spring weather, surrounded by beautiful cherry blossom trees. Food was good (I had Sunday roast Turkey), and service was quick, with good beers (JW Lees).
