Fantastic! I'm not going to say anything else.

Can't deny the food has been ok. But the service is insanely slow. Weather you eat in or take away it's been painful recently.

Great food usually but getting fed up of booking a takeaway slot and food never being ready. 3rd time in recent weeks I’ve booked a time and waited awkwardly at the bar, with no room, bar staff trying to squeeze past, whilst we stand there like lemons waiting 30 minutes for food we ordered 2 hours ago for a specified pick up time. If you can’t fit us in just tell us that.shame because it’s great food, but the wait times are getting silly and frustrating

Great restaurant and great food it’s down a little alleyway

I’ve been looking forward to trying food at Nest for a while now and was so glad that I did! The food was so delicious and the service was really great, too!

Couldn’t work out where the entrance was had to ask. Small restaurant. Food average. Have to go outside to access the toilet. Young female waitress barely speaks.Had to ask for more drinks. Had to ask for sweet menu, they only had sorbet. As it was our anniversary quite disappointed with service. Wouldn’t go again

The place is really nice and the food is so delicious. I would suggest promoting the restaurant more as due to location, it is a bit hidden. The staff is so friendly and always making sure you have everything you need. Every time we come to Shaftesbury, we are making sure we are going to our favourite restaurant. ♥️

Went to the restaurant initially and they also catered our wedding. Incredible food and great people. We had so many people say it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Pork bites worth a visit alone. Highly recommend.

Best meal out in ages. Pork belly bites is a must try. As for the steak, one of the best I've had in a while

Great food, won't find anywhere like this in Shaftesbury, however ... the mac n cheese varies every time in terms of portion size (the dish i usually order), and this one was missing the bbq sause. the first time I tried Nest, it was much better quality, hopefully it thrives but prefer the brown boxes as you get more food!

Sorry didn't live up to the hype

Really disapointed...booked 6 day inadvance for a tuesday lunch. When wd got their the resatront were shut..when i spoke to a member of staff another person booked us for the evening slot at 7pm...

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to visit and try the fantastic menu.

We add our very first meal here tonight, my god I think I've had the best burger I've ever had. If you can manage a bite and get a bit of everything that's in your burger it's like a beautiful flavour explosion the one burger is the only burger I ever want to eat now . Also the garden is very picturesque with a great atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and helpful,the chef / owner I think he said he was is a very skilled chef who understands flavours that go together. I would recommend this place to anyone who would like a nice chilled evening and great food. Please give these guys your support to keep this place going for many years like it deserves. Fabulous food. Telephone staff are not great. Food is definitely worth it thought. And great value for money.

Lovely little unique restaurant in Shaftsbury. The building is cute with a nice atmosphere. I was so excited walking into the restaurant for a really good meal but it ended up being quite disappointing. I really like the idea of the menu, it is packed full of different unusual flavour combinations but in the end it was all just a little too much. On the menu, I chose the burger. There was very little detail about it on the menu so I assumed it would just be normal. However when it came it had: the buns, onion, lettuce, mustard, hashbrown, cheese, bacon, a large slab of pork, the patty and tomatoes. I generally eat a lot but this was far too much to finish (barely touched the chips even) and was the most expensive burger I've had at £18. Other dishes in my party were good but still not worth the huge prices. £9 for two chicken skewers which only had two pieces on either skewer. I also felt the service was unfriendly, lacking smiles, small talk and enthusiasm. I was once a waiter and fully understand accidents can happen however when a waiter dropped a tray of drinks next to our table (which unfortunately spilt onto one of our friends hand bags) there was no apology or acknowledgment. Should this reveiw be taken onboard, I may return to the Nest as I did feel it had a great potential and cosy atmosphere.

My friend took us here while we were visiting, as my husband has recently had a stroke. The staff were brilliant, the food outstanding absolutely enjoyed the evening emensly, will definitely go again next time we are visiting x

Slightly delayed in writing a review.. but I’m so happy that this restaurant exists as we don’t have many unique places other than local pubs to choose from in the area! The building itself is a little confusing for the entrance and toilets, however once inside it’s beautifully decorated and there’s also outdoor seating which I would love to reserve at some point this summer. But they need more cheery staff for the summer with more attentive service as I did have to call them over too many times. Even though my friend and I came on a Tuesday evening it still had a lovely atmosphere. We went straight for the mains which both were delicious. Highly recommend the crab burger and their fries! I also ordered a side of the jalapeño slaw but I wouldn’t do it again as it was so expensive for what it was (a small portion of slaw with three slices of jalapeños in) We were too full for desserts and instead shared a cocktail which was one of the best I’ve had in a long time! For someone who has intolerances (gluten and dairy) they catered for me super well! One request would be to add options for those who are free from on the dessert menu. For a new business it’s doing well and I’ll definitely be visiting again

Fantastic! Enjoyed an amazing lunch here today for my friends birthday. Have heard great things about Nest and we weren’t disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious, lovely service and setting. We will all be back!

Amazing food but very poor service. We were told we needed to pay in cash but then they had no change. Got home and realised out chips were missing. When we called to say the chips were missing, we were told we hadn't ordered any even though we'd been charged for them. Very disappointed as the food is out of this world, but the bad service will probably put us off going back again.

I booked a table for my husbands birthday and we weren’t disappointed. The setting and atmosphere were great, the staff were really friendly and the food was insane! We ordered the Tikka nugs and Halloumi to start and then the pork special and the goan fish curry for main. So tasty and full of flavour. We had a really lovely evening and will be back for sure!

Met a friend for coffee ended up having lunch outside in the sun. Delicious as always. Food is amazing and very friendly staff. Fantastic to have them in Shaftesbury town. If you visit in the evening, make sure you book ahead.

Appalling cooking.... we took our American friends and they were not impressed. Overcooked pork to the point of inedible, even a steak knife wouldn't cut it! Hamburger totally charcoled, curry more like soup with rice??? Crab soup was quite tolerable but far too salty and to top it all we were first to arrive and last to be served. The one star is for a good bottle of Ken Forresters Petit Chenin Blanc... but £40?? If you can't do a decent hamburger give it up. Would have given 2 stars if there had been an apology but even that was obviously too much trouble.

Really tasty food but really poor service. We had to wait 1hr 15 minutes for food despite there only being two other tables taken. They did not offer us any other drinks during this long wait, and when we mentioned about the wait they did not apologise and said it was because the food was made fresh… such a shame as it was tasty food and lovely decor.

Unreal food. Best scallops we have ever had. Finally somewhere great to eat in Shaftesbury. Also up there with the best food in the south for sure .

Noisy, limited staff attention as seemed under staff. Starter was stunning, pork belly bites! Main was nice but wouldn't rush back.

The food is fabulous, so highly recommended for that, but the front of house staff could be more welcoming. A cheery smile helps so much!

Lovely atmosphere and amazing food

Visiting town for a weekend, we'll worth a visit to eat here. Delicious food and friendly/very accommodating staff. It's a small spot to sit and eat, and there was a large group next to us, but it felt welcoming and comfy. Food was exciting and tasty!

It's probably one of the best restaurants in North Dorset.

So refreshing to have a new and alternative restaurant so close to home. Everything was great ! We need to go again to try more of the delights they have on offer.

First time visiting Nest today. I wouldn’t normally review however I couldn't not do so. We had the best experience! The food was SO good. The belly pork bites, Mac and cheese and halloumi in particular were so tasty. Highly recommend and will be back.

Amazing food, had this a few times now and some of the best I’ve had, easily the best loaded fries I’ve had, really cool venue too. My sister used them for her wedding food and that was also brilliant!

Enjoyed a light lunch with friends, excellent. My Tempura Prawns were amazing. It is a welcome addition to the High Street and will be back again soon. Highly recommended.

We had a takeaway today for our managers leaving lunch. We work just up from the restaurant and have smelt the most tempting aromas throughout the summer so we're really keen to try out the food. We each ordered a selection of mini plates and a main so we could taste the various dishes. It was absolutely delicious. The belly bites and Christmas poutine fries were divine. The portions were really generous, enough left over for us to divvy up and take home. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, you will not be disappointed but you will be very full!!! 😋😋🤣

This place is brilliant! I am the type of person who doesn't normally leave reviews but this place definitely deserve 5 stars. We had a number of take away meals this evening and the burger was out of this world. To be honest it's the best burger I have ever had. The burger I tried was called our burger. Dirty fries are fantastic, I shared a portion as a side dish and we struggled to finish the dish. You will be hard pushed to find better in the local area. Quality and quantity, very pleased and will be coming back. Well done and keep up the good work guys 👍

Welcome addition to Shaftesbury high street. My partner had the truffle mac n cheese which was phenomenal, and I couldn't finish my mouth watering dirty fries. Good luck with it and see you again soon.
