Does what you expect from a seaside cafe. Not brilliant but adequate and what visitors need as a watering hole. Stopped for takeaway coffee and cake, which was ok and fairly priced. Service a bit slow so can imagine it is worse when very busy. Why does the Council charge visitors so much to park when they are supporting local businesses?

My husband and I visited this lovely place a few times last week during our stay in Milford-on-Sea and it's fantastic. We only had a soft drink and a coffee and a cake each which was really good only wish we'd had a proper meal as the food looked amazing. Plenty of seating inside and outside and we never had a issue sitting inside with our dog. Really friendly and welcoming staff and would highly recommend anyone to pay a visit.

We just stopped for coffee and cake, which was very nice. However, when seeing other people's food coming out of the kitchen, we have added this place to our return list for a meal. The food looked fantastic and great value for money. Well worth a try if you are near by.

Arrived at cafe and was welcomed Sat outside as it was a warm day. Took a while for our order to be taken (2 cokes, sandwich and panini) Drinks made it to us reasonably quickly, but the food took forever. Considering we parked next to the cafe, paid for an hours parking, then had to buy a second hour before food arrived will tell you that food took over an hour. Was ok cafe food, but not worth the wait. Guessing this is normal as they make you pay upfront, so you can’t walk out, as I would have with that wait. Shame

Went in to get a takeaway drink and sandwich Got told we have to wait at the bar...!! Having not been in before didn't know where said bar was !! Then stood around Infront of the now found bar for over 10 minutes and no acknowledgement of us waiting to be served at the afor mentioned bar even though there was 5 members of staff just walking around and blatantly ignoring us One of them could have at least said we will be with you in a moment......But no sadly we then got annoyed and decided that our custom was better of at another cafe instead We won't be coming back to this establishment anytime soon

Our cycling group use the Needles Café regularly and we always receive a warm welcome regardless of which member of staff greets us. Good quality food and very fairly priced. It's also a fabulous location with the views out over the Isle of Wight ... although we are often too shattered to notice :)

The service was generally good until my food arrived. The cod and chips were very poor, the chips were ok but the fish tasted off, when I raised it as an issue I was initially offered a free drink, despite the fact I had left most of the fish, after some persuasion they finally offered to reimburse me £6, not brilliant when most of my meal was left as inedible. My wife’s jacket potato was fine but nothing spectacular. Sadly won’t be returning to this cafe, very disappointed

What's not to like. Fabulous location, right on the beach with views across to the isle of Wight, the Needles Eye Cafe sits next to a large childrens play ground with facilities for both infants and older children. The sea is a stones throw (and there are lots to throw!!) away. A reasonable amount of indoor seating and clean toilet facilites and outdoor seating for better days. There is also a lot of public benches all along the front on which to eat a bag of chips or have an icecream. There chicken nuggets are the best around and will spoil you for anywhere else!! They also have a very nice gluten free carrot cake but it sells out fast.

Extremely slow service. Been here on two occasions and both times had to wait 25min+ with very few people into the queue.

Excellent location. Service staff and food were excellent. Sadly management need serious customer service training. I was waiting for friends and had stated as much when ordering but when they arrived at 17.05 they were told the cafe closed at 17.00 and were refused service. We went to the kiosk on Hordle Cliff instead and got brilliant service.

Nice beach cafe with seating inside. Extra ushers for the few tables, a lot of staff in general. Unfortunately tables are not clean. Coffee and hot chocolate delicious. Unfortunately the payment is made immediately upon delivery to the table…

There on a sunny day. There is a fantastic view to the Isle of Wight. The outside area where we sat was scruffy, tables in poor condition. Just felt neglected outside. Such a shame as the location is fantastic and there is nothing else of this type on the sea front. There is a great pub about 400m away with a good outside space, go there instead until this improves

Lovely views over to the needles and nice clean cafe to enjoy a rest and some nice food. Had a lovely full breakfast and the staff were very nice and friendly. Great part of the world.

Staff not bothered,tables dirty, asked for table to be wiped,splashed with juice which had been spilt on the table. Would not return.

We decided to book a table on the 29th June to celebrate my husband Salvatore's 85th birthday. What an amazing choice. Everything was perfect. Especially when everyone joined in singing "happy birthday" Beautiful staff. Beautiful view. Beautiful food. O what a perfect day. Lovely views with that holiday feeling

Love this place grandson had a meal that was amazing and probably enough to feed a small adult. Very helpful & friendly staff.

Waste of a journey to try this place out. On arrival we were asked to wait for a table outside so we did for about 15 minutes. . A table became empty but another family who just arrived took it. This happened again. So we left. No organisation. No one keeping an eye on tables becoming available for people waiting. No sign saying “Please wait here to be seated”.

Good coffee, really good cake, friendly service, great views, what's not to love about this place. Oh and loads of parking at reasonable rates and nice walks

Brilliant coffee and baguettes with a view of the sea and I got breakfast envy when I saw what the lady on the table next door had 😀 Easy parking on car park next door. Always busy though so be prepared to wait a bit.

Worst service ever, ordered & paid for food, girl at the hatch said 20mins, still nothing after 45mins, so went to enquire. Was told our order may have been given to someone else. Asked for & got a refund, will not be returning. Could've been a plausible excuse but the place wasn't even busy.

We have daily coffees and are tough to please-the service and quality are always first class. We also eat there-breakfast,lunch and tea periodically.All the food is excellent but the staff in particular are incredibly helpful ,polite and provide excellent service. We had a full English breakfast. It was tasteless , avoid the sausages as they are cheap and nasty. Service and atmosphere were good but couldn't make up for the disappointing breakfast.

Love the food, vegan burger is great. Service is friendly, but we wanted a dessert, we went to order it, they said someone will come and take your order but they never did! We left!!!

Lovely location, food came out fast and was delicious. The staff were friendly and accommodating to children. The fish and chips, and chocolate tiffin were so good! We would definitely come here again

We ordered a burger and chips as they said on menu that they were burgers from local farm very tasteless and the bun was twice the size of the burger I counted 17 chips on my plate the other meal was scampi and chips and that had even less chips very over priced we will definitely not return so disappointed it's such a shame we also had to pay before we received our food DONT BOTHER EATING HERE

We were shown to a table, 4 adults, 2 children given menus etc. 10 minutes later, still waiting to order, we were told that the table was reserved and we would have to move. There were no other tables available. We left. Very poor management and organisation and as a side note, totally overpriced.

My wife and i have been coming to your café for many years and enjoyed the food and service, however today we have been very disappointed with the food and service. why is it now you have to be seated to a table, it was not busy 11.30 am Wednesday lots of tables free and we were told we had to sit on hard stools and a table made of a barrel where everyone passing by banging into us, we are both getting on in years and wanted to sit in a proper chair to relax, why not say to us you are full. why are there so many reserved tables, this is a café not a restaurant it should be first comes gets a table, by the time we had finished these tables were still not used. i counted at least 4 tables just empty the whole time we were there. but i am most annoyed about the food the menu said i thought, bacon, brie and cranberry Pennines as i did not have my glasses i repeated this clearly to the girl that came to the table, It wasn't until i had finished i realised there was no bacon, i have never been offered a dish with half of it missing what a con . why didn't the girl say if there is no bacon with this i told her clearly this is what i wanted, i also asked if i could have a class of water which never came. what is going on with this service very poor, asking for payment before any food. we just wanted to come in and relax and enjoy the meal not get tricked by the menu and treated badly. this place has really gone down hill.

A lovely place for a snack after walking. Coffee and cakes were very good but most odd we were asked to pay as the cake was served to us. Most unusual we thought when no other table was asked to do the same. We had planned to sit a while and have a couple of coffees. Perhaps they thought we were going to do a runner.

Disappointing to sit down for breakfast then spot the table dirty with food and hairs. We were moved to another table that was also dirty. Breakfast was luke warm. I won't be returning. No apology from the staff. On a plus note the staff started desperately cleaning the other tables.

Lovely location with a big children’s park. Disabled parking is free with blue badge and parking charges are very cheap. Lovely sweet cafe with a beautiful view. Cod and chips are fresh. Table service in the cafe and garden. Cash and card available. Highly recommend

Great staff and view, but lousy, lousy food. Ordered burger and chips and cod and chips. Who knew you could go wrong. Both rubbery and tasteless. Chips dry, peas undercooked.. For very poor quality food - very expensive.. Would not go back or recommend anyone else to. The waitress was absolutely fab though, friendly and helpful.

We visited this cafe on 2 occasions, late morning. We sampled the big breakfast the first day - good produce, healthy portions - just warm enough, the plates could have been warmed more. Delicious coffees - black Americano and Latte. Second time we tried scrambled eggs on toast and bacon butty. Good portions.

Good coffee and a very tasty bacon bap - what’s not to like towards the end of a seven mile walk. They weren’t that busy but it took a long while to take my order. In fact, I was about to leave when the waitress rushed over. To their credit, the food and drink arrived quite quickly after that.

Very disappointing experience here today, we booked a table a few weeks in advance as we had a large group. We then immediately called to move the booking back slightly but when we arrived were told we were half an hour late and they had given our table to someone else. Obviously the 2nd call to change the time didn’t result in the booking being changed and we would have been fine with that as these things happen sometimes but the staff member we were confronted with was very flippant about the whole thing and at one stage even laughed about it. It was clear that they weren’t interested and theres was no attempt to apologise. To make matters worse after we left the restaurant we tried to call someone to express our frustration and the person who answered just put the phone down! The 10 of us (including a hungry 4 year old) then ended up at the Lighthouse which is at the other end of the car park and with no prior booking sat all of us and we had a beautiful meal.

Good food, slightly overpriced for what it is, but also understand it’s the area. Staff also not very friendly and did not check back on our table of 6 at all. Which was odd because it wasn’t too busy.

Terrible slow service . Scrambled egg was cold and overcooked. Coffee ok, but, that is all.poor value for money £7.00 for a bacon nd egg bap!! Will not return . Staff appeared uninterested.

Fab seaside cafe, especially if you get a sea view table

Great view of The Needles. Good service despite being busy, seating rather cramped, good pot of tea, scone etc was average, reasonably priced, would have given a higher rating but BARKING DOGS MUST BE TAKEN OUTSIDE! Shocking racket given all the hard surfaces. (Not babies and little children, they were all fine).

What a fabulous find. We went on a wet and windy day, storm Ciaran was on its way! We were given a warm welcome and our dog was given a treat too. I had the wild mushroom soup which was the best soup I’ve ever had, thank you. We had coffees but I was unable to fit in a cake too so we took some to have later, there was a great selection and they were delicious too. Good price for excellent food. The cafe was tastefully decorated and kept incredibly clean.

We were a party of 20 people - Age Concern New Forest. Having already previously pre-ordered our meals everything went very well....Nice food - great staff - and despite being a very wet windy day we had a great 2 hour lunchtime treat.....Very busy for a Monday as despite weather there were many walkers on the beach who took the chance to pop in for a hot drink, also available to takeaway....Dogs allowed inside which is fine by me - there was one very noisy dog but hey that's life !!

Just popped in here for a coffee, but the flat white was disappointing. The toasted teacake was nice though. Lovely view over to the Needles on the Isle of Wight.
