Ordered for collection. Portion sizes were large. One curry was more than enough for 2 people. Rice was nice, Sag Aloo was nice and spicy. Unfortunately what let it down was that the poppadoms tasted like plastic and were expensive for that. Also all the food came in paper holders which did not retain heat very well.

The restaurant is in real need of refurbishment. Not what I would describe as nice surroundings. The poppadoms were very fusty and cold. The pickle tray was disappointing . My main tasted ok but despite asking for a bit of chilli to spice it up it was obvious my request fell on deaf ears. The biggest criticism I have is that the main was very very oily. Way too much oil. The starter (onion bargees ) were very large which was nice but they needed more spice in them. The garlic Nan was very good. It was inexpensive but frankly you get what you pay for. That said, the service was good and the waiter pleasant. By the way…. Bring your own booze (there is a supermarket over the road).

Went to this restaurant for dinner before going to a concert. Very nice greeting, we were very early so it was quiet, eaten at many Indian restaurants and can honestly say this is in our top 10. Plenty of flavour and choice, nothing was a problem. Didn’t wait long, care had been put into the cooking and it was all exceptional. Great to Sat pre concert as the concert hall is 5 minutes away.

Oh dear, where to begin? Shall we start with the people who don't know any better and have left good reviews because they can't tell what real curries taste like, so please take their reviews with a generous pinch of salt. My sister ate here about 5 years ago, and the food was nice. They had well-dressed waiting staff and a very likeable governor, and they were super busy and had very generous portions along with ample freebies. So, based on this, we decided to try it. From the moment we went in, we knew something was amiss. The place was empty, and someone eventually came out to "greet" us. He was wearing jogging bottoms and a hoodie. The christmas lights were looking sad (it's March), the carpet looked decades old, and the paintwork was shoddy. Anyway, it's all about the food, right? So we looked at the menu with slight trepidation. Decided to go with the set meal for 4. Out it came, in very tiny portions. Each starter had about 4 square inch pieces of meat, and it looked as though 1 very short kebab was cut into 2 pieces. We asked the "waiter" why there were only 3 samosas for a set meal for 4. His response - he shrugged and said yes, that's how many you get. Good job we had a maths teacher with us to help divvy up the 3 samosas between the 4 of us (although we did consider not giving the 10 year old child one but that would have been a little cruel). Customers started coming in, in dribs, and drabs. One family complained about their popadum sauces tasting off and were told that they could pay for their drinks and leave as they insiste their sauces are fresh. They had an elderly lady with them, and it was a rather shocking and rude response to their very polite critique of the sauce. So we contemplate whether itstoo late for us to up and leave in protest, but we soldiered on as we'd already had our starters. The mains were quite late and very disappointing. Lots of pasty processed sauce with a very small amount of meat, I'd say about 5 pieces. The potatoes and mushrooms tasted and looked like they were out of a tin. Turns out, the previous owner (a lovely generous gentleman) had passed away, and left the business to his son who likes to cut corners, scrimping here and there, affecting the value and taste just to keep his costs down and keep his profits up because the people who don't know what real curry is supposed to taste like will carry on frequenting this joke of a place. Kanjoose is the word we asians use for people like that. An insult to the original owners legacy. Thankfully, we didn't have any tummy troubles. The highlight of the meal was the cadbury's eclaire you see in the pic. Let's just say that the food didn't look very instagrammable.

Flavourless or too salty. tinned potatoes and tinned mushrooms used in curries. Service was quite good. Rice dishes were smelly, overcooked and unappetising. Naans we’re really lovely but that’s only because everything else was gross. Food is absolutely atrocious. Don’t go here. You’ll be wasting your money. Walked in at 6:30pm and it was completely empty even up to 7:30pm on a Saturday night! Red flags everywhere. Previous owner apparently passed away and now his son has inherited premises but doesn’t want to refresh the place or hire more staff and use better quality ingredients. Large group seated next to us kicked out after stating starters were off. No offer of replacement or apology! Boo burgers across the road looked so tempting but we decided to stick it out. Opted for set meal for 4. Starter for that came with 3 samosas!-yes for 4 people? Also, mains for set meal for 4 came with 3 naans for 4 people? Came here a couple times around 5yrs ago and food was beautiful. So, disappointing.

Terrible restaurant 1/10 From the entrance the whole restaurant was cold and uninviting, the toilet door didn't lock, no soap to wash your hands with, fire exit at the back had a metal gate closed over it! The carpet was so old and worn you could see the floorboards through the floor. The front door entrance kept closing and locking. The general decor of the room seemed very dated. I think the lights on the ceiling were probably from Xmas but switched off instead of taken down. Servers were dressed in jogging bottoms and crocs had no enthusiasm to cater for the table. Having to remind the staff to take back empty plates/ dishes became annoying after 3/ 4 times. Customer service was very poor, the waitress I believe was new to the job, we gave her extra patience with ordering but seemed she had little to no knowledge about food in general nevermind the menu. Having to repeat ourselves each time trying to speak clearer for her each time too. Slow to receive our food when finally got our mains they were extremely hot beyond edible, for a dish such as madras you'd expect some heat fair enough but both chicken tikka bhunas we ordered were horribly spicy, we received yoghurt to cool it down and it still barely touched it. We were assured that "that's how those dishes are served" Will not be back that's a certainty.

Nothing seemed fresh and tasteless. Pappadum’s tasted of stale oil, Naans were flat, oily and bland. Only one other table in on a Friday night so i’m guessing others are avoiding too. Needs a lot of attention decor wise. Storage boxes in view, a collection of dirty looking water jugs still with old water in on the side. Very off putting. A real shame. Left very disappointed.

Tharka Dhal way too salty, ordered Paneer for mains and the portion size was a joke, charged nearly £9 for a main which came out in a dish same size a side which was £3.95. I expressed my disappointment in which he replied 'you didn't want it saucy'. Hardly any paneer in it. Charged me for a Garlic Chicken Chilli Paneer when we are vegetarian and didn't even have any chicken. Photo's are of a side of tarka dhal and my paneer mains, same portion size. Food was just alright nothing exciting, one of the dips was ketchup with onion chopped up in it. Also no drinks except water, you can take your own but you would prefer to know before hand.

I was excited to make a rare visit to Leicester yesterday for the rugby and used the Trip Advisor website to find a recommended curry house in the city centre. The Nawaaz was near the top of best Indian restaurants, so I booked a table...

Shocking absolutely shocking. My friend was there before me and he ordered the Popadoms. After tasting them he said they're not good and we asked for fresh ones. Waiter returned and said they are all the same that's all we have. Only 2 dips on the pickle tray one was onion with tomatoe sauce. Starter was tough and chicken smelt off. Didn't eat it. I asked for a chicken masala but spiced up and garlic in when arrived it was so sweet no garlic but with whole chilli's just thrown in. One of the worst curry's I've ever had. The place looked old and dirty. Really embarrassed to have taken my friend there who travelled from South Wales to meet up. 4.4 stars my arse never trust reviews again.

Thought a curry before a long awaited concert was in order so after reading some of the reviews on here we decided on your restaurant. At first sight it looked clean and welcoming. We were asked to leave our contact details in line with protocals which was a positive. Service was very polite if a little slow, it does clearly state outside on a board they do not serve alcohol but you can bring your own, they also do not serve soft drinks... none on menu or offered. Water delivered to the table was tepid at best. Once ordered we were expecting a little wait as it was early in the evening... much to our surprise within 10 mins our food was delivered to our table.. I ordered chicken tikka and hubby ordered a speciality chicken dish, mushroom rice and a sagaloo... let me start with the sagaloo because it looked like.... Runny green slop... both of our currys were overpowered with a coconut flavour and tasted exactly the same...the naan breads were dripping with oil. The only saving grace was we had a concert to look forward to... I would not recommend this place, the pub across the road had much nicer looking food...

When craving authentic flavourful Indian food, this is one of the places to go. The decor is colourful. Service is attentive. If you are not sure which one to order, ask for their recommendation. They
