Tastiest curry I’ve had in a long time!!

Ordered 2x here now. Both times food was fresh and enjoyable. Edit: my go to indian takeaway, as of today very consistent, fresh lovely food! From 4 star to 5 now!

Well done everyone working at Aylestone Spice, you got it all right on Friday 24/01/25 Instructions carried out precisely by the Chef as I asked for in the ‘order notes,’ not all restaurants take these instructions as seriously as you do. Thank you, it’s the difference between having a meal delivered, or getting a ‘great meal’ delivered and wanting to come back for more another day. Good work ‘team Aylestone Spice’ fantastic tasting Indian food delivered to my door by a friendly delivery man.😬

Brilliant takeaway, loved the naans and tikka the best. Veggie korma was a bit odd, felt like it was the end of a mixed bag of frozen veg going in but the sauce was nice. Lovely touch of free onion bhajis. Really polite friendly delivery driver

We ordered a takeaway for the first time here. The order was delivered on time. The keema nan and cheese and chilli nan were very good. This was the first time we had it and it was very tasty. We had also ordered the sea bass saag which was a good portion size. The rajasthani lamb and chilli chicken were very tasty but the amount of meat in both dishes was quite minimal- hence the 4 stars. Otherwise very tasty food, delivered on time but could do with more portions within the dish.

Me and my husband have just had a takeaway and it was 1 of the best Indian takeaway we have had in a very long time out standing food so much flavour and so much chicken and the driver was so lovely and polite so thank u very much i have rang and told them as well

Food wasnt that hot and chip was under cooked soggy wet and didnt send correct drinks not happy.

tried calling 5 or 6 times to be told driver was on way!!!! driver showed up over an hour late, however magically had a free bottle of coke!¡! half the order was missing!!!! Will not ever use again!!!!!¡!

I ordered chef special karahi, peshawar naan and poppadoms, absolutely amazing, food was hot and tasty. I have tried many Indian takeaways in Leicester and always disappointment except this one.

I ordered on just eat. The restautant called me saying that I couldn't have what I ordered. They wouldn't honor the order on just eat. They told me to cancel which I did then to realise cancelling on just eat means they get my money I lost 23 quid. Terrible service. Don't know about the food as they never gave me anything. Shocking in this day and age to have service like this

Visited for the first time last night and everything was absolutely brilliant. There was a 4 course menu offer for only £15 and the quality of the food was fantastic. Service was great too 😊 honestly couldn't find fault with anything and would 100% come again. Thanks for a great experience!

I have been ordering takeaways frequently for a very long time as my wife and I run a very busy schedule and that aside; I love curries. This curry house is the worst balti I have tasted in the UK. My baltis are tastier by a wide margin. This is not the quality I would expect from a takeaway. The chicken was tough and the food completely bland. Such a potty as well as we were so hungry today with all the running around. I didn’t even finish my plate.

One of the best indian's I have ever had for takeaway! Ordered around 6pm and delivery driver was here within 35 mins!! Food was SUPER Hot, amazing portion sizes would definitely recommended to anyone in leicester looking for an indian!

Worst takeaway I've ever had! I think they gave us lastnights leftovers. Cold and dry. Zero flavour! Shocking!

We order from Aylestone Spice every week, the food is always so fresh and tasty. The food is presented to a high standard using quality ingredients, dishes such as Pathia a nd Karahi aswell as Jalfrezi are our personal favourites. Chips, Onion bhaji and naan breads are always freshly prepared and this is evident in the taste and texture. The portion sizes are great and we are always greeted with a smile by the delivery drivers. Highly recommend for those who would like authentic Indian food. 👌

1st time ordering from here, extremely happy with both service and quality of food. Biryani was fresh, tasty and well cooked Chicken madras was of great texture, great portion size and taste. Chips was fresh and well cooked Peshwari naan was well cooked, again very fresh Poppadoms was also very fresh and great quality Will definitely be ordering from here again, and recommend others to do the same. 5 stars 👑

Driver turned up looking like had been fixing an oil leek on his car!. The meal was pretty bland tbh not as good as the 1st one we ordered.. for the money we paid we expected better I suppose.

Average Indians, come quick, doesn’t rarely give us any freebies, chicken is quite dry, poppadoms are fresh, rice is nice, same as naan bread.

Blandest curry I’ve had pleasure of eating. Was disappointed as was recommended by friend but they hadn’t been for a year or so. Seemed like a new manager - bit overbearing. Went as a walk in as a couple, 2 mains, Jalfrezi and a madras- rice , keema naan . Other staff very friendly. I hope they pick up as local but will watch reviews before venturing back via the Ale Stone!

Thought wed give someone else a try. Risky business and it didn’t pay off! Food was not tasty. The meats in the curry dishes overcooked no real depth of flavour nor any rich indulgence. Lacked taste on so many fronts - will not order from you guys again. Overall a big disappointment- however the naan bread was very tasty that’s about it.

Worst Chicken dupiaza I have ever had, absolutely tasteless even though I asked for extra garlic, keema naan had hardly any meat in it too! Recently new to the area, thought I’d give this place a try - never again!

One of the most bland meals I have ever eaten. Lovely welcome and staff very friendly. Very much like a restaurant in a living room vibe which is something you can overlook if the food is nice. No taste to my mixed biriani, 1 piece of lamb and some shrimps, not a sign of any other meat: Tasted more like dry chilli powder rather than fresh chilli's. Veg curry accompaniment is more of a veg stew sauce with lumps of potato. Keema naan; worst Ive had, bland, not one single bit of taste to it. Unfortunately in my opinion a complete waste of my £13. Staff were nice. I was eventually able to pay by card but they prefer cash.

We would like to say a big Thank you to all the staff at the Aylestone Spice restaurant on Aylestone Road Leicester, We got Married on the 6th February and we went there for a evening wedding meal with our family 15 of us in total they did everything to make sure that we had a wonderful evening celebrating with our wonderful family the food and service were amazing every one enjoyed the food. once again a big thank you from Mr and Mrs Wilson.

Very rude staff! Twice we have booked on line, only to be told there was a technical problem. So we were turned away. Won't go there again!!

Booked this in advance the day before. Arrived on time 1900, a family group of 9. There was another group in of around 8. Sat down and waiting to be served. Ordered a starter and poppadoms, (16) and 4 pickle trays. Received 12 and 3. Waited ages for starter and main, requested soft drinks, none came. Food ok when it arrived. Sadly I can't recall how many times try he female apologised to us for the service. At the counter clearly disorganised chaos with deliveries and overwhelmed. Priority has to be those in the restaurant and not those ordering takeaways. Never seen any of the staff before. Unfortunately and against my wishes, no complaints made. If there's lessons to be learnt, those in the restaurant are priority. With a new Indian a 100m away you need to up your game! Poor.

Ordered takeaway after 1.30hr wait told it was with the driver, phoned back 20min later and was told they hadn’t even cooked it, will not us again suggest you try the royal lounge 3 doors down

Absolute waste of space. I ordered via just eat @ 19:45 on Thursday 4th Jan 2024, was given an estimated time of arrival 20:20 to 20:40. I waited & waited & waited nothing arrived over an hour since I placed the order, I rang the restaurant to see where my food was, the guy on the end said still waiting for driver to get my food to yet deliver to me, so still a further 30 mins to wait! The guy I spoke to wasn’t even that bothered. Bad service,& no real care that I’d been waiting. Avoid this place!!! Do not order!!

Ordered a takeaway at 19.16 31/12/23 fine told order would be 75 minutes which was fine I rang the restaurant at 20.55 to see where order was it arrived shortly after I paid cash as we went to dish up noticed we had wrong order I rang the restaurant explained the situation they said put the food back in the bags we pick up and drop your food off again no problem mistakes happen.after another 25 minutes rang again was told fresh food being cooked be 40 minutes more.I did say cancel my oder. Family not happy. So re ordered with another company.I then did ring them again to say when they pick food up to return my payment at which point they said no refund as new food on the way I did explain I had reordered elsewhere.Sorry no refund will be given ! Food arrived 21.45 luke warm at best. My New order a chinese ordererd 2 minutes later. The issue for me is not the £39 but the priciple if Aylestone spice had just said sorry out of goodwill we will return payment.End off.

The order was very late it took over one and three-quarter hours to be delivered. Someone from the shop phoned me up to say it would be late but it still took another 20 minutes. I am very disappointed as this was one of the highly rated restaurants on your list.

Hard to describe how awful my food was from here, quite possibly the worst curry I’ve ever tasted, (unfortunately I could only taste it and had to throw away the rest) My order was delivered in under 30mins and I live 10mins away. The microwave special seems to be left invisible and off the menu Extremely disappointed 1/10

As a family group we have been to this restaurant several times before. The staff have always been welcoming and it has been full of guests enjoying a sit down meal. Our visit last night was a complete contrast to these other visits and will certainly be our last. Upon arrival, the restaurant was empty apart from and endless stream of takeaway carriers walking through the restaurant with orange bags. This should have been our warning sign of what was to come! A member of staff behind the counter shouted across the restaurant ’table of 7? In the window.’ (We were a group of 8!). It took the staff member over 20 minutes to come over to us and take our order, in which time all you could hear throughout the restaurant was the phone ringing, which cut through the music being played clearly over the same system, and the just eat noise which was rediculously loud. When the staff member finally came over to take our order he left at least 3 times to take takeaway orders and had to be asked to come back as we had not finished. When the food finally arrived it was average at best. It took nearly 2 hours from arriving at the restaurant to the main courses being delivered to the table, one of which we were told would be about 10 minutes later than the rest. This happened to be the meal of the only child at the table (chicken tikka masala, so not a special request.) it would have been quicker for us to leave the restaurant and order the same food for takeaway. We felt like we were nothing more than an inconvenience being there on a Saturday night. There was no management or leadership which is clearly needed. Would I recommend Aylestone Spice? No. Will we be returning? No!

To say that the service was poor in this restaurant would be generous at best. We had booked a table for 7 people to celebrate several family birthdays that fall in October. This was our 3rd visit for the same occasion in as many years. Previously enjoyable visits have now been irreparably tarnished by our latest experience. The ‘waiting’ staff were not attentive, were more interested in answering the phone, attending to take away collections by Just Eat, and chatting to each other than paying the only table of guests in the restaurant any amount of appropriate attention. We were not greeted upon arrival, the member of staff chose to speak to us from the counter instead of coming to the table, when he did finally come and take our order, he left 3 times to return to the more important task of answering the phone and servicing takeaway drivers and then had to be asked to come back to the table to finish taking our orders. The food was average, took an age to come as “the kitchen was very busy” servicing take away orders and as such it was clear that guests in the restaurant were not a priority. We would suggest that Aylestone Spice should choose whether they actually want diners in the building and if so, look after them accordingly or to be solely a takeaway business, which appears to be something at which they are clearly more successful. We will not be returning nor will we be ordering a takeaway from them ever again. Very, very disappointing.

The Vegetable Rice, Chicken Biryani and Stuffed Paratha needed seasoning, and instructions enclosed in ‘Notes about my order’ for the Chicken Tikka Masala and Curry Sauce to be Madras Strength, weren’t carried out! What’s going on ‘Aylestone Spice’ you’re better than that. Come on ‘Chef’ you’ve got a reputation to keep up.😬

First time ordering here, went for the jalfrezi (chicken and chicken tikka) was very satisfied, perfectly spiced and the colour of the jalfrezi was authentic and natural (unlike some places that add lots of colourings) will definitely be ordering again! 👌🏽

Portions are good, always quick service when I order, some of the dishes are a little too sweet.

This is the first time we’ve order from here and what can I say. We definitely wasn’t disappointed. We’ve tried a lot of Indian takeaway and this is the best by far. The food was piping hot and fresh and the curries were to die for so tasty and it wasn’t all about heat. So worth every penny.
