We went as a huge noisy group of friends for their excellent Diwali thali. The food was excellent, service was impeccable. They coped admirably with our noisy bunch , with occasionally confusing drinks orders. The Diwali thali is extremely good value, strongly recommended.

Was very much looking forward to the 10 year anniversary menu. It was a kind of a hit and miss. The starter with pani puri etc were great, as was the yoghurt chaat and the tawa halibut. The slider and the lamb however were heavy on the salt for "flavour"..the dessert was nice. Overall nice but didn't wow. The Navadhanya team are super attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. the ambience was nice. the decor is nice albeit still same wallpaper/paintings as from the previous occupants of the site, (Chinese restaurant).

We visited this restaurant whilst staying for a long weekend in Cambridge. They were extremely busy which is always positive. We still managed to get a table. We were served by an extremely polite and helpful waiter. He remained attentive for our whole meal, and with a smile! The menu is so very different to other restaurants which was pleasing. The food was very tasty and good portions. As they were celebrating their 10th anniversary, we were treated to a gift before we left! What a wonderful end to a lovely evening. Highly recommended.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to try the limited edition 10 year anniversary menu today it did not disappoint !!! The flavours and presentation of all the 7 dishes was outstanding! Such a lot of thought and creativity was evident in the how the menu had been planned. Every dish was exceptional with the highlight for me being the Taste of lamb accompanied by the Nihari sauce , biriani, Malabar paratha and raita (like you have never had !! ) the sauce simply danced on the tongue, I could have happily drank it on its own !! Thank you Navadhanya for another memorable evening - we will be back soon !

The venue is a modern curry house, it was very busy and noisy on arrival, which doesn’t reflect fine dining, if this is the experience you are looking for. The staff were extremely polite and friendly throughout. We had the 7 course taster, and the food was excellent! We were extremely surprised by the quality and complexity of each of the dishes, and certainly left full and satisfied. The birthday muffin was a nice surprise. We had the wine pairings, which I wouldn’t recommend. Though cheap at £29 for 5 small glasses of wine, they were not great. We would certainly eat here again, but have a different expectation on what the experience was going to be. Highly recommend.

We have dined here before in the private dining room with family which was brilliant but the 7 course taster for our anniversary was exceptional. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. We had the set menu. The restaurant had been recommended to us, so we chose it for an anniversary meal. The food was nicely presented and tasted good but it was nothing special. I guess I had high expectations because the restaurant used to have a Michelin star. I've eaten at many South Indian restaurants and absolutely adore this region's cuisine. Service was indifferent, the decor was nice, however the location was rather horrible, just off a busy roundabout and quite a run-down area. That's not the fault of the restaurant to be fair! Just be aware for travelling there. I would visit again to try other dishes, there was an interesting selection.

We had an amazing meal. The food was as good as any we have had and the service was impeccable. We also had the flight of wines which was matched perfectly to every course. Could not recommend this restaurant more highly!

We visited Navadhanya after being gifted a buyagift experience for the 7 course trading menu. This is by far the most amazing present that we have ever received as the food was absolutely delicious!! The staff were lovely and clearly explained each dish that was being served. I was so full by the end but had to make room because the food was too good to waste. I will definitely be returning and I would highly recommend the tasting menu. I know it seems quite pricey but I can assure you that it is worth the money and I would be very happy to pay the price for the incredible food that was given

I was looking so forward to a nice meal at a Michelin star restaurant. This place has great reviews and was expecting an excellent meal. Unfortunately I was disappointed it didn’t live up to the reviews. The interior is nice and modern. Staff were very attentive and friendly but it did take a while to order. Our server explained some of the dishes to us which was helpful. When the papadums came, the server explained the different chutneys it came with. When our food came, it was a let down. Maybe it was what I ordered but it just wasn’t the best. I didn’t even want to eat it because it wasn’t very appetising but with the price I didn’t want to waste my money. The naan bread wasn’t warm and was more like a flatbread. I didn’t care for it. The veggie dishes I ordered lacked flavour, spices, and heat. We ordered coffee after our meal but it took so long I wanted to cancel the order. Asked the server she said it’s coming right now but took about another 5 mins. We won’t be coming back.

We walked in and was told to leave before 7 since we didn't have reservation, Me and my partner came to celebrate our special day, The dinner was amazing, we had Starters pav baji and chat, the chat was so so delicious, My partner had chicken biriyani and Nan, paneer and desserts, it was amazing, all the staffs were amazing, especially a guy, the name starts from the letter J, he was so amazing and wonderful service, we will be back with our friends.

I like my curry. No, I love my curry, and Navadhanya did not disappoint. In fact, it is difficult to fault the meal I enjoyed there. I say this despite prices that, at first glance, are close to eye-watering – do not be put off. We ate from the A La Carte menu where the prices suggestive of haute cuisine, and haute cuisine it turned out to be. My choices were delectable. Each delivered cleverly balanced, yet punchy flavours, that really did elevate each dish to something well beyond the usual offerings of sub-continent themed meals on the UK high street. I had the Malai Chicken starter, followed by the Malabar Prawn Curry with some Dal Tadka and rice. Everything was excellent. I must concede to some food jealousy on seeing the Matter Scallops starter arrive for a colleague. This soon dissipated on the first mouthful of the Malai Chicken, which I then guarded with care against the interests of those who had elected to go without a starter. We ate in a private dining area, which suited our purpose. We enjoyed a service that was warm, considerate and unobtrusive. Walking through the restaurant it was very evident that it preserves a friendly, familial feel that is welcoming to families. Pricey though our meal was, I notice on the website that there is a thriftier approach to enjoying the Navadhanya’s fabulous fayre. This comes in the form of an Early Bird Menu (early evenings Monday to Thursday). The Early Bird Menu affords the opportunity to enjoy all that I had during the work-related feast about which I write, and more, and for an amount that many may find more easily digestible than the A La Carte menu prices. Navadhanya is definitely worth a look, and, without hesitation, its food and the ambience lead me to recommend it as an eatery to be sought if you find yourself in Cambridge.

Food was excellent . Staff are very friendly and attentive. We tried the scallops and prawns which is really amazing . For the mains waiter recommend the rabbit and fish Curry both are amazing .

The food is great, I've been here a couple times. But not sure what has happened the presentation of the food was very below par this time around, and the service wasn't that great either. I used to give this place a 5 star all around but I'm taking away a star for this visit as it didn't live up to my expectations for the price I pay for a high end Indian restaurant.

I've had some great food here but not today's meal. Very disappointing. The tikka sauce tasted like it was based on Heinz tomato soup.

Probably the best Indian food I’ve ever had, the naans were so fresh and soft and everything was so flavorful and delicious. My only problem was that the restaurant itself is really dim so we couldn’t see everything properly, but otherwise it was amazing.

Booked with little expectation, first night of a two night stay in Cambridge, the food was excellent, the service was perfect. We ordered the 7 course taster menu, just wow!!! So many flavours so many textures what a first night. If you want your cheap quick don't book here, it is fine dining, but worth every penny.

I love Indian food and this experience was on a different level. Everything tasted amazing, full of flavour and beautifully spiced. The staff were great and very attentive. We had the tasting menu and each dish came with a full explanation from our waiter. The restaurant was quiet when we were (5.45pm), which was nice and added to the atmosphere. We left very full and happy 🙂

The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We all enjoyed the delicious food and surprise Birthday gesture at the end, with a birthday celebration. We chose the Navadhanya to eat on our overnight visit to Cambridge and I'm so glad we did. The place was absolutely packed which gave us a good idea that we might be on to a winner. The 7 course taster menu was quite special. I'd like to thank the staff for making it such a memorable visit. I have no hesitation in recommending this super restaurant.

We went to Navadhanya for my wife’s birthday specifically for the 7 Course Tasting Menu and were not disappointed. Each course got better and was finished off with the best Melt in the middle Chocolate Fondant we’ve ever had. We didn’t have the flight of wine but did try a bottle of Indian Sauvignon Blanc which was different! We’ll definitely be going back to try the A La Cart Menu too.

Cambridge is very lucky to have a lot of brillisnt Indian restaurants. I am a fan of many of them. However when it comes to top end I think this has to get the gold star. We so much enjoyed the tasting menu, which is very reasonably priced. The monkfish and the lamb were my favourites. This is top end food and the service just adds to it.

Any special occasion meal has to 'work' so having been here once, and I can say the word, Navadhanya was an easy choice. I'd have gone for the tasting menu or on this occasion you might choose as we did: mains, rice, nan, sweet, water and beers. The food was well presented and frankly was the best in taste and texture we'd experienced. Well done them. The service was very attentive and not obtrusive. For a better outcome I suggest that you ask about the food. But I might be alone in expecting that this kind of dining might be served with an explanation of what's been put on your plate.

Booked this restaurant after googling best restaurants in Cambridge for my partners birthday. The reviews were fantastic, and I can honestly say they were all true! The food was outstanding. Starters we had Lamb Chops which were really meaty and could cut with a spoon, along with Monk fish which again was meaty and beautifully cooked. Mains we had the chicken and railway lamb with black lentils dish. The black lentils dish was beautiful and I'm a meat eater! I expected the bill to be higher for what we had, definitely value for money. Service and staff were excellent, they even did a little birthday desert FOC for my partner. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, we will 100% be visiting again. Best Indian I've ever had.

We went in the evening with two friends who treated us to this amazing restaurant's seven course tasting menu, with accompanying wines. It was stunning. Every single dish was beautifully served and presented. It was delicious and the accompanying wines of high quality. The restaurant had a very pleasant ambiance and the staff were unobtrusive but efficient and helpful. I cannot recommend this highly enough. You must go!

Food and wine flight for the 7 course meal as a treat. Was beautiful, in taste and presentation, from the start to end. The monkfish and lamb especially were excellent.

This is one of the higher-end Indian Restaurants, with a limited menu- usually a good sign. Lots of novelty in the dishes too- although simple dishes are there - I chose the chicken chettinadu, with garlic Nan and Dal Tadka (as they call it here). The curry was amazing, quite thin in substance with big chunks of chicken thigh meat, very different from the usual semicircular lumps of yellow chicken that could have been cooked last Tuesday- and I must say the best examples of Garlic Nan and Tarka Dal I have seen in a long time. I want to return and try one of the more interesting dishes, I know it will be special. Really good, and impressive inside - if I wanted to impress someone I’d bring them here.

I've reviewed this restaurant before but wanted to give feedback on a fantastic experience. My husband's birthday is late December, a tricky date. We booked for 9 family and friends, plus a small baby, and were given our own room, and VIP treatment. Thank you very much.

The ambience and decoration throughout the environment was culturally satisfying and pleasing to look at while waiting for the next dish to be presented. Service was impeccable, aromas and tastes lingered, the food itself elevated the senses, the sauces just right. Overall, an optimal eating experience well worth the price, we six left pleasantly satisfied.

What an incredible dining experience. From the outside it doesn't look like anything particularly special, but you are in for such a treat. The tasting menu was varied, with huge portions and delicious flavours. We were spoilt for choice and every dish that came out was wonderful. The staff were informed and very friendly. This restaurant has been recommended to me multiple times and now I know why. We loved it and will be back.

The restaurant was cold and the door, each time it opened, allowed cold air in, furthermore there was also air-con on, but that improved when I mentioned that to the waiter. In the last 20 minutes we felt quite rushed as they wanted the table back and they made it clear not only by bringing the bill we hadn't asked yet but also by telling us in the last 10 minutes that we had to vacate because the next reservation was going to be there at 20 (which is until when we were supposed to have the table to). If you like hot spicy food I really recommend you to go as it's a refined restaurant.

My favourite restaurant in Cambridge. I had the most amazing birthday meal. We had 2 tasting menus and 1 vegetarian tasting menu. Everything tasted incredible and the service is so precise and wonderful, the staff are fantastic and I am not surprised they have Michelin stars. Thank you!

If you love Indian cuisine then this restaurant is a MUST! we had the 7 course taster menu and it was mind blowingly good. All the courses were cooked to perfection and presented immaculately. I've never tasted Indian food this good before. Each course is delivered with a description of what it is by the waiting staff. The staff are polite attentive and efficient, it is service with a smile. I recommend the Indian Shiraz 'Sula' with this meal. I highly recommend the scallops and the monkfish dishes but then all the courses were superb. You definitely need to visit this restaurant!

Authentic Indian food with good ambience. A tad expensive. Went there for an early dinner as a couple with a toddler. The staff were good and accommodating of the child. We ordered pappadams to start with. The three chutneys that came with were really nice. As starters we ordered lal mirch paneer and crab N70. The paneer was amazing and brought back memories of eating in North India. The portion size left us worried whether the mains would be filling, but didn't turn out to be an issue. The crab was a letdown, couldn't feel the flavour at all. For mains we had lamb biriyani and Punjabi Murgh with spicy naan. Wife felt the chicken was too sweet, but I have had similar before. The mains were good overall, and there was enough for us to bag home in the end. We ended with Masala Chai, but that was a letdown again, felt too watery. Overall, it was nice food with good ambience and good service. We often feel after eating out at Indian restaurants that we should have just cooked ourselves, but that wasn't the case here. Except for a couple of duds, we came back satisfied. Still overall, the price felt a bit too steep.
