Nash's Bakery in Cherwell

Hygiene of this place and staff is very questionable! I've brought shortbread biscuits in the past but stopped buying them due to finding little hairs. I mentioned this to the staff at the time. Today I thought I would try again and buy one for my son to suprise him and was horrifed to find a huge black hair inside. I was gobsmacked and felt embaraased for my son. Absolutely disgusting. I even came here few months ago and sat in the cafe having breakfast when I caught one member of staff putting a spoon in one of the tubs I think colesaw tub, took the spoon out ate it and put it back in to stir it. I was absolutely disgusted I even heard a member of staff say you can't do that. The staff who did it, caught me watching but she still did it. Won't be going here again now!

Service seems to have improved greatly, not sure if this is due to a change in management, but the lovely ladies seemed to be a lot happier on my recent visit. Cream cakes as always were absolutely delicious 😋

I am very impressed with the Viennese cakes which I have always enjoyed. When visiting Oxford I would always buy one, but when that branch closed I have been visiting the Bicester shop, which provides cakes every bit as good! Certainly I have not had better anywhere else. Also, I am very impressed by the friendly, courteous staff who are always helpful. There should be more bakeries like this one. Thank you.

We had a early start and long drive from Hull this morning as our son had job interview just 10 minutes from Bicester. After remortgaging the house to buy three bacon rolls and three coffees at a Pret-A-Manger, it was refreshing to find this lovely, unpretentious bakery and cafe. The lady taking our order was busy but took care with all her customers' needs and recommended the Lardy Cake - a local speciality which we don't have in Hull. It was delicious, as was the rest of the lunch and you could see that all the customers were well looked after. By the way, it must be lucky lardy cake as our son got the job!

I’ve been to both Bicester and Blackbird Leys bakery many times and have always received outstanding service. Their Victoria Sponge is simply traditionally delicious - for me it has to be the best I’ve ever had. Their breads are fresh, tasty and moorish.

We called at Bicester on Wednesday 28th June, 2023, whilst on holiday in the Cotswolds. As we walked along Sheep Street, we spotted Nash's Bakery with a cafe at the rear. Ordered a cream tea and cake and both were delicious. Staff were very friendly and courteous. Enjoyed visit very much.

Bread is lovely. Savoury pastries are really very poor. The sausage rolls are claimed to be made with local flour and meat from a local butcher....... even the serving staff laughed about the claim. Crying shame

I ordered a christening cake after my very good experience with a birthday cake. The christening cake was beautiful and really delicious, as due to COVID we took it to the church so that everybody could have a slice. The vicar was delighted to have a sweet treat unfortunately the champagne remained at home as that was not allowed, to his disappointment.The cake was done at Nash , Bucknell Road . The lady that took the order was very helpful and with good ideas. I would recommend the bakery. A very pleased customer.

It seems as because we are younger than the average customer the staff tend to be rude and very unfriendly towards us. It is uncalled for and I will not be making a purchase from the bakery again.

Use it 3 days a week n a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday , nice friendly staff serving, ice pasties and sausage rolls plus selection of cakes , I have diabetes 2 and some things are to tempting, despite covid -19 changing things

I ordered my grandson birthday cake. The service I got was excellent. Today I collected the cake and it was in a lovely box with a yellow ribbon matching the yellow ribbon of the cake. The cake was exactly as I ordered it and absolutely beautiful. So elegant and the two teddies looked adorable. It is going to their London house, for the birthday party. Delighted. I just sent a photograph to the parents are they are thrilled as well. Thank you, a very satisfied customer. i have to mention the manager from the shop in bucknell street, was very very helpful.

Home made fresh bread and cakes plus a tea room where you can get amongst other things hot sausage rolls.

Iv only visited this bakery once and I will not be coming back! Staff are very very rude.I must have stood at the counter for over 2 minutes while the staff behind kept chatting to one another, yet they have made eye contact with me a number of times. Cakes and savoury’s just like another other bakery

We often go here for lunch, good value home baked food. Sandwiches etc made fresh to order with good simple ingredients, so you can choose exactly what is in it. Staff always friendly and helpful, all customers are made welcome.

We stopped at Nash's Bakery for a cup of tea and a cake - and ended up with a cup of tea and two cakes as we couldn't choose just one!!The service was friendly and the seating comfortable - and we really enjoyed what we'd ordered - almond macaron, bread and butter pudding and chocolate éclair.If you eat in the tea room and show your receipt in the bakery, then you get 10% whatever you buy in there.

Nashs are a local family run business and thay are a one off in many ways. Very easy going, nice and clean and makes you feel one of the family

Since moving here two years ago-ive visited this place often. It's an amazing locally run place that is a very traditional but warm and friendly set up. This is how bakery's and cafe should be run. Please give it a visit.

The place was very tired, service was almost grudgingly given and food was only just acceptable. Even though items were in the shop, they could not necessarily be bought in the cafe!!!!!!! They were really only interested in closing early, but sent one couple away because of it, then served two people who came in 10 minutes later!!!!!!

Fresh bread in all of the classic styles, well priced. Takeaway and eat in available that includes sausage rolls etc. Why use supermarket bread and cakes when there is something so much better on the High Street doorstep?

Oh my , my lunch so so good today. Had a pork bap with stuffing and spoke sauce. My daughter had a tuna toastie. Lo fly and warming on such a cold day. Will 100% return when in Bicester next.

My wife and I pop into Nash's regularly when shopping in town. Straightforward little cafe with friendly staff and good snacks at reasonable prices.Their Large Bacon Bap must be the best in the land!

Sandwiches/baps always good and enormous. Bread delicious and the cafe area always busy with excellent offerings.

Its always good to see a successful bakers shop surviving on a high street. This one is good, has a good selection of snacks, cakes, sandwich's and treats all at reasonable prices. pleasant staff - good honest, fresh food.

Little bakery where you run the gantlet of the tasty favourites on display in the shop; selections of cream cakes and eclairs and freshly baked bread before entering a small café at the rear. Here you can order breakfast options such as medium or large bacon baps in different types of bread and coffee and tea. I thought the coffee was really excellent. The price around the same as the local Sainsbury's but this place clearly has the edge.

Family bakery with Tea room at back of shop. Great stop off when shopping in Sheep Street which is the main street in the town.

Always the loveliest amount of choice in Breads and Cakes, so fresh and the staff are extremely helpful and happy

We had a short sandwich lunch which was OK in quite faded surroundings in a fairly blighted town. Maybe better to take sandwiches out to a park but it was OK

This lovely little bakery with coffee shop is a delightful place for a quick stopover - in our case on the long journey from West Sussex to North Wales. We ordered our coffees and hot sausage rolls from some efficient, no nonsense ladies behind the counter and walked through to the back room to relax.

Been coming to this bakery since I was little and whenever I visit Oxford or Bicester I buy about 10 Blobby Biscuits in a go because they are simply amazing!

This little bakery is a delight. Not only do they bake delicious loaves, but the coffee shop behind is a pleasant stop whilst shopping.

Nash's is a local bakery supplying bread and cakes. They provide a take-away sandwich service and have a small sit-in cafe in the rear of the shop. The staff are always willing to make you your 'special' sandwich / roll.

The bread made here is very good, also the cakes and pastries etc. Always buy here when I am in Bicester. Highly recommended

What a lovely tea shop for a good cake and cup of tea. They also do hot food bacon sandwiches, baked potatoes, sausage rolls. Went on a Saturday what polite and happy staff all happy to chat to you.

They make the best fresh cream donuts in Bicester. They have a small tearoom in the back. Nothing special but the food is excellent. Staff if very friendly.

Often call in for coffee and bacon bap when shopping in Bicester. Small café/tearoom at rear of bakery shop. Nice friendly service, good baked goods sandwiches etc and average cup of coffee. Very handy if in town centre.

You get an excellent freshly made cuppa and a card to collect for a free cuppa. Cakes are good. Friendly service.

A nice change from Costa and a wider selection of fresh snacks - bacon and sausage rolls etc. It's not upmarket and is very good value for money. Please don't visit as it is very popular with locals who know about it! 😀

This could potentially be a lovely tearoom however it's overpriced, the staff are treated terribly by the owners not as respected members of staff and perhaps because of that the service isn't always good the food is very good,it is however always clean and tidy if outdated.

A hidden tea room behind bakery. Lots of choice. Especially good when not trying to diet as the breakfast baguettes are amazing and very filling. Good other choices too.

We visited with an Indian colleague and we didn't understand the procedure, which led us to being badly treated by a very bossy lady. We ordered 2 out of 3 sandwiches at the front sandwich bar then said we wanted to sit at a table. These were rudely taken away, before we had the chance to order the third, we then had to queue up again to effectively reorder our food, then we had to wait at the table while the sandwiches were in wrapped, cut in half and then delivered to the table. Customer service not understood here!

I had lovely coffee and very good food there! lovely staff , very friendly and nice atmosphere. they do the best doughnuts in Oxfordshire! i will always visit Nash's!

This cafe is behind the bakery shop, the cafe is quite retro like stepping back to the 60's with a good selection of filled sandwiches pasties etc

Not the most trendy venue for tea, but the cakes are good and the staff friendly, but busy. It is cosy and quick and you can sit outside on a good day. The prices are good, don't forget to get the card for a free cuppa.

Average food at average prices really, Bicester doesn't seem to have a great choice of eateries but this does the job if you just want to eat.

My kids love this shop but it is a little expensive so it's just for A great every so often which is a shame

From the front this shop looks like a standard bakery, but if you continue past the counter there is a seating area at the back where a number of the products can be purchased to eat in along with others such as bacon and sausage baps and sandwiches and hot drinks.
