Narey's Garden Centre in Mid Suffolk

Staff could do with a smile instead of looking so angry. Run out of potatoes. The place was cold and atmosphere unpleasant.

Previous visit no cook so very limited menu available. Next visit all things on menu available. Staff look miserable except the cook who brought out food, smiling and friendly. Staff need to clear the tables and wipe them down promptly instead of chatting. We had to ask one young girl to clean ours, who left the adjoining one dirty. It was very hot in there with the air con not on and two fan light windows open. Would have sat outside but no umbrellas, but it was actually cooker outside the day we went. Staff letting this restaurant down and will ultimately loose customers. Going by previous reviews I do not think management are reading these comments as nothing has changed over the year by the look of the reviews.

Went with a friend to pick up some plants and decided to have a coffee and bacon sandwich, the coffee was actually ok, took about 10 minutes to actually get it, and the coffee came after the bacon sandwiches? Bread was quite stale and hardly any bacon and over cooked, the two young girls serving need some training in customer service they need to look happier

Food not bad although menu is limited. Staff could try smiling at customers and wipe tables down. Need sun blinds at windows for the comfort of their customers.

Go regularly and the food is very good. Service is good too. Only criticism is that the tables are not cleared quickly and always wiped down. Waitress comes out with drinks on a tray then walks past a dirty table. Down to training I suppose.

So ive always supported Narey's as a Garden Centre and in recent times the Cafe , never before have i had reason to make a complaint but sadly after our visit to the Cafe this weekend it will be our last , on arriving at just after 12.30pm we were told they finish doing hot food at 12.30pm , there were two fruit scones left and a sponge cake , I asked politely if there were any cheese scones left the young lady behind the counter replied no , so my husband had the sponge cake and I had a fruit scone ( both being exceedling dry )that meant there would be only hot drinks for the next two hours for other people arriving, we had to wait for a table to be cleared and cleaned and we weren't the only people , we counted seven tables all needing clearing ,four members of staff and no hot food !!! but the main reason I won't be returning is whoever the manager of the Cafe is my advice is to speak to the members of staff that work in the Cafe and explain if your going to slag off customers it is best to not do so in earshot of the customers !!!!!!!!!!! However we will return to garden centre and the little shop as we have always found them extremely helpful and polite

We have always had a good experience, but a recent one left us shocked and scared and we will not go back. We were verbally attacked by a member of staff who swore and threatened us. He also approached our car in a threatening manner. The whole thing occurred because our very small dog, who was on the lead, yapped at his dog who was not on the lead. When we left, we walked around the edges of the car park because the car park was untreated and extremely dangerous and he also took exception to this. If they don’t want people walking on the grass round the edges then they should treat the car park and not talk to customer with the utter contempt that he did. A truly awful experience.

We are visiting from Cheshire and stopped here on our way to see family. I wanted to buy them a gift and found a nice selection of indoor plants/pots and some cookies to take. Our daughters loved wandering around and looking at all the garden ornaments and the Christmas Shop. If we lived more local we would definitely visit again before Christmas, there's a great selection of decorations and gifts. We also had a drink in the cafe. They kindly split a hot chocolate into two cups for our twins, which made it easier than me pouring half into a spare cup. The coffee was nice too.

Our first time here! Impressed by cleanliness and service . Simple cafe food , promptly served, generous portions, fair prices .

We were new to Narey's and visited early lunch time on a Saturday. After noting we had missed the breakfast we opted for baked spuds and a pot for two. Just wanted to say we could not fault the service or meal. It was excellent. The spuds were hot, well cooked with those nice crispy skins, the coleslaw was tasty and the salad was fresh with crisp cucumber, hot rocket, cherry tomato and beautiful lettuce . Cutlery and table ware were spotless. Staff were friendly, efficient and presentable. So many places bring you a soggy spud & limp salad but not Narey's. Well done, we think your great!

Went we a friend for tea and cake. I had a scone and it was very very tasty! Everything was very clean, the decor was nice. The table were spaced apart so the room felt really airy and you could easily have a conversation without it seeming loud from other guests. The man that served us was so polite and friendly - he even took our food and drinks to the table. Added bonus that you can walk around the garden centre after! Will definitely be returning.

Daniel is a star!!! Just had a quick lunch with my young lady with autism. The goal being she becomes more independent when out in the community & asks for her own meal. Daniel served us and was so kind & patient with her. We ordered a grilled ham & cheese toasted sandwich, lemon cake & drinks. Service was excellent & the toastie was nice & hot. All of which was thoroughly enjoyed! Definitely coming back as felt very welcome. Thank you Daniel! PS: Did buy some great plants from the super friendly, knowledgeable older gentleman who’s been there literally forever! I’m guessing Mr Narey senior but that’s just a guess.

Tries this place for breakfast and although not horrendous, everything felt a bit amateur. I waited by the tull for somebody to serve me. There was a lady directly in front of me who didn't acknowledge me (although knew I was there) and after making two full rounds of drinks then turned round and served me. I didn't mind waiting, but I did mind that I didn't get a polite " I'll be with you in just a second". Like I say, it all felt very amateur. Whilst we waited for our drinks, a young lad in a tracksuit and a cap on backwards came in and went behind the counter and made himself a coffee. He didn't wash his hands and for all I know could have been shovelling manure all morning. Our drinks were the next ones made. The breakfast was fine. We saw them microwave our mushrooms. The tesco stripe sausages were deep fried but I've had worse. It wouldn't be hard to make this place right but it seems to me that don't have anybody experienced enough steering the ship.

Nice garden centre with a good selection of plants. Cafe light and airy and the breakfast is well cooked and always served on hot plates - fab poached eggs. Staff always friendly 😊

Quite a short menu, but great for sandwiches - especially toasted. The breakfasts looked good too.... The atmosphere is a bit harsh here - with strange fluorescent striplights (why did they keep them when it was refurbished?), but the staff are lovely, and it's well worth a visit...

Great breakfast lovely staff who cooked for us as we arrived early on our journey home Nothing was too much trouble they even made a lovely poached egg for our little granddaughter Wish we had known about this place earlier in the holiday Thankyou

We have now visited 3 times and will continue to do so. The cakes are wonderful and the breakfast is excellent. Generous portions and piping hot food and drinks are the standard here. The girls and the young lad are all friendly and extremely helpful. I cannot fault this place at all, and my gluten intolerant partner is always happy , which is rare when we go out to eat. Have a meal and get something for the garden or a gift for a friend from the gift shop. The garden centre staff know their stuff too. It is well worth a visit here.

Me and my family visited Nareys cafe and had a delicious well cooked breakfast! It was speedy service, great staff and a lovely environment. Would definitely go back again!

Lovely food and friendly staff. The breakfasts, scones and cakes are amazing. The decor of the cafe is lovely and it has a big open space inside and outside.

We live locally and have visited the garden centre several times but due to lockdown the cafe has been closed. Today we called in for coffee and cake. There was more than one choice of gluten free cake on offer, which is always a bonus...

Decided to head to Nareys today for a cuppa and a bit of food. Staff were really polite and friends and quickly took our order. The food was generally good however they really needed to check the temperature of the Jacket potato before sending out...

We have used thisgarden centre ever since we mved to the area five years ago. This small cafe is a welcome addition to theoverall scene and should do well if our first experience(admittedly prior to lockdown) is anything to go by.Very promissing.

Popped in for breakfast staff were friendly coffee was good asked for poached eggs not fried this wasn’t any problem. Took two scones home that were excellent. I could see cakes being made in the kitchen. Also selection of scones coming out from oven ingredients...

Visited on 3rd March 2020 Bacon and Lettuce Sandwich and Tea for two Sandwich had very little Bacon Tea cost £2.60 each really overpriced and service person seemed confused and only ordered one Sandwich Needs organising reasonable prices and better choice of Menu

We enjoyed a well cooked and served breakfast.but the cafe area was very cold.I had a fairly thick jumper on so dressed for today’s weather I shall go back again when the weather gets warmer

A great addition to the garden centre. Our first visit today. Lovely smiley welcome. Husband enjoyed his warm fruit scone & my warm cheese & chilli scone was so delicious . Very reasonably priced menu. We’ll definitely be back. Maybe lunch next time!

Amazing coffee and Home cooked food. Brand new cafe opened in December 2019. Delicious scones baked daily.
