Good quality food, staff friendly, good atmosphere

Good choice of food, particularly breakfast. Staff are pleasant and the building is very clean and tidy.

Disappointed with the quality and small portion .definitely not worth the very expensive price

The food just spoils the place. Especially the chips are most horrible things we ever ate. They are too big, from frozen with taste of the freezer on them. The meat in the burgers is also bad. Nothing from local fresh farm produce, just frozen tasteless. We don't recommend.

Visited café 24 today with my 19 month old son who has allergies , I’m always apprehensive about taking him out to eat at new places but the staff and chef were amazing , showing me all the ingredients in the foods and Reassuring me that it’s safe for him to eat . 10/10 for that

Had the overall experience been better I wouldn't have thought to leave a review. Staff lacked manners tables to closely put together and grubby I had the brunch with beans from the bottom of the pan unedable ! chips cold and had an unusual taste the eggs were solid and accompanied with a luke warm drink A shame as a nice complex of independent businesses let down by the food venue

Superb food and great little cafe.

It is with regret to say the lunch booking we made was a sheer disappointment as the Sunday Pork roasts that we ordered were found to be barely edible with a pungent aroma on the (pork strips which were not a Pork roast, on leaving I raised my dissatisfaction with the waitress ,whose sheepish apologies were the final insult. The food quality is poorly presented, not worth the visit in future.. we certainly will avoid.

The worst roast we have ever tasted bland everything tasted the same a weird aroma never seen pork like it before we mentioned it but didn’t get any response

Really excellent service. A friendly welcome and clearly great training for the staff. The trainees were cheerful and helpful.

Had the Full English on a table of 6 adults and 3 children. Mind you weight watching isn't synonymous with me luckily 😉 but menu's good with alternative plant based options. Food was served early, approximately 15-30mins wait time which was great. The service was great, waitress was smiley and accommodating (joined 2 tables to seat our group). Food was great and the children loved the ice cream- that ask me why 😀.. Very nice place and atmosphere. It's moderately priced too. Meal for 7 came to about £75 which is acceptable I think. Would I eat here again? Oh yes I would!

Service was brilliant - they were really accommodating of our dog even though they had some refurbishment ongoing. Food was decent, good value and arrived quickly.

Sausages tasted like grissel and bounced like a bouncy ball. You may find the smoked bacon too salty. Tables were closely packed. Tomato and hash brown were acceptable.

Amazing value for money, service was second to none and the Sunday roast was brilliant. And treats for our dog.

Lovely little cafe nestled away in Stonham Barns. Food we had was great and served quickly. Non alcoholic cider available for drivers too so that's a bonus point from me

On the 21/08/23 I was taking my dad to see the owls as a treat for his 90th birthday. I rang the cafe in the morning and asked if I could bring a birthday cake for him which we could have when we had meal. The gentleman I spoke to said it would be fine. When I arrived I popped into the cafe and they kindly took the cake to keep it in the cool. We then spent time in the owl sanctuary before going to the cafe for lunch where the staff had reserved a table for us. At the end of the meal all the staff came out of the kitchen area with the cake and candles lit whilst singing Happy Birthday. My dad was so taken aback. I can on thank the staff for making my Dads day.

Gone really downhill recently. Where do I begin. Firstly, I go to the counter and ask to have two tap waters, a jacket potato with beans and then half chicken and half beef with the roast dinner and to have no yorkshire pudding. Out it comes with a yorkshire pudding which looks burnt and the rest isn't much better. I check my receipt and guess what, I've been overcharged so I ask the waitress and she lies to my face saying that you pay extra to have meat with the roast dinners. This is definitely not true and is not on the menu and I was not informed (see photos). So I write to the owner explaining the situation and how their staff acted towards me and I am not happy with the responses at all. In fact it just annoyed me even more. In summary, I wasn't listened to, I got ripped off, I got lied to, I got a bad meal and to top it off, when I try to explain things to the owner about what has happened, and I even show the photos that you see here with the proof - they still insist that I wasn't overcharged and they make no apology. Do they think that this is acceptable because I don't

Disgusting Multiple hairs in food , dirty cutlery and glasses when told about hair they took the plate and that was it no one came to apologise they all just ignored it and carried on with what they were doing absolutely rude DO NOT GO HERE !!!!!!!

Do not go here hairs in food , dirty premises , when told about the hair had no apology and no offer to rectify the problem dirty cutlery and lip marks on glasses would not recommend here at all

Have never been to Stonham Barns before and we only live 30 minutes away. Met someone in the car park who had obviously been before and he recommended the bistro. We had a jacket potato with cheese and a roast pork dinner. I cannot recommend the roast dinner enough, the yorkshires were beautiful - just the way I like them. Service was excellent and at £9.95 for a roast dinner and absolute bargain. Will definitely make the trip again just for the roast dinner.

Sunday roast was cold, undercooked and tasteless, wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Stopped off for breakfast on our way back from a over night theatre trip in Ipswich. Decided to have the full English,it was lovely. One downfall,tea was a bag in a mug,Don,t mind a mug,but teabag in hot water is a no no for me. Music rather on the loud side. Wish someone from the garden centre,would rescue the poor dead plant on the windowsill.

Super friendly, professional and accommodating staff. Seated 12 of us at lunch time. Food was tasty and good quality. Sausages and ham were delicious. Would definitely come back.

Been for coffee twice bit dissapointing

Absolutely disgusted by possible the owner of the cafe having a problem with my disabled child who was nearly being sick with us putting her just outside by the walkway to the toilets toilets and having the door open a little bit to help her calm down l. We are regular uses of the sensor room and this was the place also regularly enjoyed ate lunch after but never again .

Such lovely and speedy service. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious and price was good value for money. We will definitely be back.

Really friendly, great food and super service. They were very busy on the Saturday morning we visited, they let us know the kitchen was a bit behind, great communication. A bit of a chat and tea and the food soon appeared.

My wife had eaten here previously and had been positive about the experience but we weren’t today. There was a sign that the Bistro was under new management - if so they need to improve quickly. The quality of the food was poor. I had a sausage baguette which was insubstantial and the baguette was dry - not worth £5.50. Baked potato was overdone and paninis pretty tasteless. I also prefer tea in a pot as opposed to a tea bag in a cup. 2 stars reflecting the very pleasant staff.

A lovely friendly restaurant breakfast is excellent

Staff were warm and welcoming. Couldn't fault the food! bacon was nice and thick, with the most golden yolks I've seen in the eggs. With a really nice selection of cakes too!!

Now under new managment and what a difference good food reasonably priced. Friendly smiley staff. Saw them moving tables around to accomadate large groups who showed up

Brilliant service. Good food and much improved on the last visit a few months back. More staff all very courteous and food came quickly. We took our five year old granddaughter and had a lovely half term day out!

Just a coffee stop, so didn't get to sample the food, so couldn't comment on what they offered. Staff polite and pleasant.

Nice breakfast, with some shops close by to nose in.. Good value for money & lovely service...

Went for breakfast with Santa with 4 kids aged 3, 3, 5 and 8. It was OK, the staff were trying quite hard to make it good but it lacked a certain sparkle. No Xmas music played at either breakfast or when doing crafts, no decorations in the crafting Hall. Santa's suit had pink (white) fur and Mrs Claus' outfit had seen better days. The children did have a nice time but was a little awkward and bumpy in places and not as festive as it should have been. Not a bad price (14.95) for breakfast, meeting santa, gift and crafts though.

Terrible place to eat. Every time I come I have to wait at least ten minuets just for the order to be taken. Sat there for ten minuets this time and just left. There were only two tables who had been served and myself left sitting for ten minuets waiting for my order to be taken. This would be fine if they were busy but only two tables other than me, both of whom had been served, and still I was left waiting. They do go to the effort of putting signs up to tell you they are understaffed and expect you to wait though. I only come here as I have to wait while my dog is being groomed, I imagine that’s the only reason this place stays open, a captive market. Do yourself a favour and head into Debenham, only 8 mins away and both the Deben coffee house and river green cafe are much better than this place. Miss at all costs!!

27/11/21. £4.50 for a poxy sausage sandwich. 2 pieces of bread and 2 cheap poor quality Sausages. Won't bother again. 🤮

We went here for a lunchtime meal. Seated very quickly. The restaurant was pretty full but we didn't need to wait which was good. We were left for a little while to decide on the food. We both had different things to eat. We did both however have the cloudy apple juice which was fantastic. We didn't have dessert but there was the option for cake and flapjacks I believe. Very well done to this place.

Had a veggie breakfast and was quickly delivered and staff were very polite and attentive. The breakfast was a good sized portion and great quality. I will be back again when in the area. Thanks 😊

Popped in after the Owl Sanctuary for some dinner , what a great place , the food was really lovely , big portions , flavoursome, with very friendly service . Would highly recommend this place

Stopped serving Breakfast at 11.30, even though the website says 12 Dissapointed as this is what we came over for and they wouldn't take our order, even though they were still bringing Breakfasts out.

The worst breakfast I've had. eggs like snot, everything else was burnt. Lucky to get one start. Complained, but just went over there head.

Outdoor tables were sticky and not cleaned, was served water in a hot glass obviously straight out of a dishwasher and same with the plate of cake. Also served meals without any cutlery.

Well it's not often I put a bad review on here but I am afraid to say the experience we had merits one. We used to come here under the previous management and had a good experience but we won't be coming back. I understand it's busy and school holidays but we sat at a table with used crockery and when we asked a member of staff she said I'll bring the bill we said no these aren't ours and she said she'll get someone to clear. They didn't after 5 minutes we cleared ourselves. They took our order after another table that arrived 10 minutes after us. They got the drinks order wrong. Not a great start. They brought my son's chicken nuggets which were cold and raw chicken inside. They did change them. My daughter's burger special tasted of lamb and was unpleasant and tough. My prawn cocktail salad special was small pile lettuce. 2 pieces of tomato, 3 slices of cucumber, pile of prawns and dry brown bread and nasty tasting margerine for £7.50. My nephew had scrambled egg on toast which they tried to charge £6.50 for as a smoked salmon and scrambled egg that he didn't get salmon. The good points were we did get apology for chicken and no charge but I felt that being served raw chicken to a 4 year olds lunch was very poor indeed. I am a firm believer in trying to keep local shops and restaurants going but this one we will not be back anytime soon

Absolutely lovely time. The atmosphere at the car boot is brilliant, a one way system is in place to get around for covid distancing. The shops, cafés and crazy golf are great too

Wasps everywhere as several tables not cleared of dirty plates. Waited an age for a menu and then food was brought with no cutlery. Dirty tables still not cleared until I requested it. No one wiped or cleaned a single table between customers In The hour & 20 mins we were there. Then waited 20 mins for someone to bring us a bill. My friend went inside and was told the bill will be brought out. Not great. 2nd visit in 2 weeks and service isn’t great. Maybe understaffed but hygiene has to be paramount!

All of us enjoyed the food from the restaurant. Good choice of menu and they were happy to adapt as I have fussy eaters!!

Visited for breakfast, greeted as soon as we arrived and sat outside. Smoked Haddock and Poached Egg was perfect. All socially distanced and worked like clockwork.Returned later after a walk and crazy golf. Fancied an ice cream sundae, not on the menu but the staff came through and made us both one which really hit the spot. We then started something as other customers requested them. Thank you to all the staff.

We only visited for a cup of tea before realising they provided chips as an extra. They were delicious and very reasonably price, so along with the beverages, it was great.The interior of the restaurant is good, as were the facilities, and the staff were both friendly and helpful - .definitely well worth a visit.

We worth a visit - plenty to do and see.

Having visited the Owl Sanctuary we went to the Bistro for lunch. Excellent value for both adults and children with lovely staff.

Service was very good as was the food provided - we went in for breakfast but menu appeared to have plenty on offer for anytime of day

We were shopping at the Stone Roses Crystals and felt like a midday break. Welcomed by the delightful servers who were attentive without being pushy. Promptly took our order and we received our food and drinks in no time at all. Great latte, food looked and tasted great. The Victoria sponge is superb, with a second coffee. I would recommend the Bistro in the barns.

Went with a couple of friends and had some very adequate ham Egg and chips with cake for pudding and drink and for 4 it came to £64. Toilets were fine and premises disabled friendly . Bit utilitarian with basic seats and tables but you pay for what you get and not a lot of room but a fair meal albeit sometimes a little slow on the service

Afternoon cuppa with a delicious cheese scone and a fruit scone with jam and cream. Would recommend

Had cream tea. Scones huge with homemade strawberry jam and clotted cream. Tasty!!! Wide selection of cakes and so on. Lunch menu extensive. Worth a visit.

Great service and a lush breakfast to start the day when camping.

We popped in here for a quick lunch before visiting the Owl Sanctuary. We were met with a happy smile and lots of information as to menus and how to order. The food arrived quickly, tasted lovely and portion sizes were good. We would return if ever in the area again.
