Costa Coffee in Mid Suffolk

Had a lovely pit stop and food was lovely and coffee superb - only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because the floor where we sat had cake crumbs on it so I couldn't put my bag down

It was really nice here, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is fresh and delicious 😋, their latte is really tasty. Very clean, comfortable place, I highly recommend it, for all the family. They have seats outside.

Only popped in for a take away tea for the homeless gent sitting opposite. Would have bought him a sandwich too but they were too expensive

Coeliac friendly! I ordered a salted caramel frappe for my son and told the staff he was coeliac and they were fantastic! They ran all the ingredients past me, washed their hands before starting, got fresh unused utensils and blender from the dishwasher and made it taking great care to keep it away from everything else. I cannot praise them highly enough. Thank you all x

Just be aware: bubble tea might not contain bubbles. Bought it take away for my daughter, didn’t check on site. She was quite upset with no-bubble tea(

It was fine. You know what to expect and it sort of just lived up to that expectation. Store is tired and needs updating to keep up with the newer stores around. That said the flat white was well made.

Usual great coffee, friendly staff. Only downside is not dog friendly 😟

Everything as you'd expect in a Costa Toilet wasn't pleasant though.

I came to costa to get a coffee on my break and tried logging into my blue light account on my phone to show them my card, it wouldn’t connect so asked if they had had wifi which they said their wifi wasn’t working today, i shew them my suffolk county council ID and also my blue light account which has my email and password in and was trying to log me in but had no connection so couldn’t. the staff said they wasn’t going to give me the discount because i couldn’t log in, they were really rude about this and i was disappointed with there approach towards someone who has a blue light card

I'm going to keep this short.... I've come in here as Langams was closed, usually I try to avoid, just due to the standards for how the coffee's are made. I understand first and foremost, that it's got a fast food style format, and the orders need to be made quickly however, they're made so quickly that standards are sacrificed. The grounds are not tamped properly, the milk is overheated and probably worst of all, the milk is just dumped into the mug and the Espresso just dumped on top in one swift movement. No consideration is ever given to texturing the milk which whist steamed using a high grade machine, just tastes like watery heated milk. The coffee is weak and tasteless, most likely due to the issues raised above. I wonder when or if at all, how often the machines are calibrated and dialed in. I would add that this isn't just a Stowmarket issue, I think it's almost every store. You just can't get a coffee in Costa that actually tastes like coffee. On a positive note, this store is, very clean and tidy. The vibe is good and the staff are very friendly. I don't blame the staff at all for the way in which they are trained to operate and as mentioned, it does get busy at times. I imagine that they have to keep to a certain speed but as stated, the cost is quality. Overall, I would definitely go for coffee shops where the quality is controlled closer to home; establishments where the owner is present often is where the standards are often higher. I hope anyone working here will know this isn't about them; the onus is on the senior managers to make changes. Until then I think this place will remain a last resort. Thank you to the staff for their friendly service.

I love this Costa, the queue time is average but well worth the wait, the staff are friendly and polite. The sausage, bacon cheese panini is a must have!! The sausages were juicy and cooked to perfection and the bacon tasted amazing with the melted cheese. The hot chocolate was rich and extremely tasty which was topped with whipped cream this enhanced the milky taste of the hot chocolate, I highly recommend coming to this Costa for a bite and a chat with friends and family. there is indoor seating and an extended glass conservatory with outdoor seating optional.High recommend :)

Surprisingly busy place, perhaps benefits from the supermarket nearby. Staff were nice but camera shy 😉 Only stopped by for a fruit tea so can't comment too much. Has space outside in the summer. Well positioned, useful cafe.

It's a costa? Visited when passing through Stowmarket. Good service though, averagely quick...tables quite crammed inside but outside's fine.

Came in with both my daughters and presented my 30% off food reward as my daughters had food. Store manager said it didn't work on till. So I said " can you take off manually? " to which she replied "no" " do you still want the cakes or not?" I believe the store manager could have quite easily applied this discount manually as she could see I had a genuine voucher.

Wanted an iced caramel latte with whip and drizzle but got some coffee with ice in. Who wants that.

Usual Costa. Very noisy when visited - hard floors and no sound deadening don't help! Common and unnecessary problem with most coffee shops!

Staff work hard and often seem overwhelmed. Always friendly and efficient and always clear and clean tables but not sure who does the general cleaning of the cafe. Whole place is grubby - especially the upholstered chairs and sofas - presumably, the upholstery is special fabric that can be wiped over but God only knows when that last happened: covered in dried on food and muck. Floors need a got sweep and mop Last time I'll visit - not going to pay to sit in other people's filth.

Great place for a coffee... Friendly staff, nice selection of cakes and nibbles.

Very pleasant atmosphere, good service, and coffee.

I sat there with my family, enjoying my gingerbread latte, the very beautiful ladies behind the counter working hard but with a smile for each customer as they knuckle past with their coffee . We watched the great and the good of St.Owmarket pass by , festivities on their mind , hunting for that ideal present for a loved one . I watch people sit and enjoy their hot beverage, maybe a nice cake or bun too , discussing the niceties of life as they prepare to dive into the shops to buy that gift for an aunt that will regift it in a month's time . Sadly no wildebeest seen this visit as they are still on migration in Wisbech. Happy clean sexy staff , clean eating areas and an oasis of serenity in these troubled pandemic times .

Enjoyed my last visit. The place was nearly empty and therefore no problem finding a seat. The staff were friendly and polite.

My elderly parents visit this Costa in Stowmarket at least once a week and the staff are incredible! My father recently forgot to put his disabled sticker in his car and has difficulty walking, so one of the staff offered to go to the car and do it for him. They always make sure they have what they need and sign them in to keep them safe as they don't have a smartphone. I live in Australia and I am so grateful to the wonderful staff there as they really make my parents feel special. Thank you so much for your care and kindness!

Large conservatory built on front was very pleasant to sit in. Service good, table cleaned by a staff member as we sat down . Coffee as expected. Tables cleared of trays etc fairly quickly so pleasant place to sit.. Unlike a lot of other Costas currently had sufficient staff to give the good service.

My flat white was like a frothy cup of hot milk. The worse bit was having most of the tables available in the conservatory area, well who’s idea was this during summer? It’s like a sauna everyone was sweating it was so uncomfortable I had to leave along with two other’s, there were only two or 3 tables for use in the actual cafe and you can never get an outside table all the times I’ve visited. Wish I’d gone to another cafe.

Service was very slow and I had to ask for sugar and stirrers. Can't blame this on covid, just bad service

I really like this costa coffee but they're not cleaning the tables after each customer. I have to bring my own disinfectant to wipe the table before my 90 year old mother can sit down . I think this is a serious issue since the corona virus is still around and infections are creeping up again. Please take it serious!

Usual Costa coffee, which is to say mediocre at best. None of the power outlets in the conservatory were working, which meant I was unable to power my laptop. Food lacks vegan options.

This is where we both met on a pre date, so this Costa has a special place in our hearts. Recent conservatory extension and light make over has brought this cafe up to date. Barista's are friendly and always create a lovely cup of coffee or tea.

Another coffee based lunch in Stowmarket at Costa. We usually end up enjoying a lunchtime or brunchtime at Costa and as always the fare was excellent.

Great place to get your daily fix. Situated in the centre of town in an easily accessible location. The staff here are friendly and attentive. The shop is always clean and the coffee is amazing.

Slow service. Asked to drink in, but was given two disposable cups for some reason.

Probably 4.5 stars overall as staff very busy sometimes and some tables not cleaned fast enough. Service itself very good, tasty coffee; you know what you get with Costa.

They have extended the cafe, so there is more room for seating. A great place for a coffee and a catch up.

One of the better Costa Coffees going, the recent extension does wonders for it, but the sofas are sometimes dirty. The coffee is always on point though, definite recommend if you're grabbing a cup on your way to work.

Went with my daughter and her friend, late with an extra shot for me , perfect, my daughter had iced tea which she said was lovely and her friend had a Belgian chocolate cooler which looked great ( I will try that next time) she said it was lovely. Tables and floors were nice and clean and staff were friendly.

Friendly staff, addition of 'sun room' extension makes it alot roomier. Plenty of outdoor seating, normal choice of food for Costa and prices pretty standard.

In many ways this is a standard chain coffee place but on my most recent visit (I have an occasional meeting here) the staff were especially helpful. Good service and the normal range of drinks and snacks.

Typical Costa busy with good coffee and nice cake

Had a take away Flat White from here yesterday, pleasant enought service but that's where it ends. The 'Flat White' had no coffee taste and I can only liken it to drinking a hot bedtime milk, awful. I will not go to a Costa again, not until they invest in stronger, flavoursome coffee.

I've been here many times. I love the coffee served at Costa, though a little more expensive than nearby cafes. The muffins, cakes and sandwiches are good though again a little pricy. There is only one toilet and it is often not that clean (I blame the men!). It seems to be busy and sometimes it is a challenge to find a seat. Being central it is handy though other options are available in the town.

Normally very good but had a hot choc and got no cream and it was only like warm

Staff looked after me very well and did not rush with my order. The only trouble with this store is that it is a bit on the small side but on the day there were builders building an extension. This place gets full very quickly and nicely situated next to ASDA I'm not surprised.

Clean and tidy with lovely, chatty staff and plug points for laptops and phones.

The friendliness of the staff always makes it worthwhile to go in for a nice cup of coffee.

This spiced apple tea was refreshing defraud must to try including food and other beverages, friendly staff will continue to enjoy food and beverages from here.
