Lovely historic shop on the square. I grew up in Nantwich and remember when it was Frank Coopers hardware shop. Pleased it still has a successful business on the premises. Good menu and prices, attentive staff. It is really a cafe more than a bookshop though.

We came in to buy a child’s book and have some breakfast - brilliant experience. I can’t commend the waitress enough: Izzy. We were considering the South African dishes and were not sure!! Izzy explained the dishes, ingredients and superbly responded to our reactions!! We are glad we followed her recommendations. The dishes were absolutely delicious: curried mince on toast topped with fried eggs; Boerewors rolls (and because it was for breakfast Izzy suggested eggs and mushrooms). Go in and give it a try - you won’t be disappointed. Bye the way, we also bought a fascinating illustrated classical musical book (for a toddler AND his parents!)

It's a lovely place to eat, with good food and drink, but with climate change a big problem, it's very disappointing that they have decided to help warm up the planet by installing outdoor heaters. People are quite prepared to sit outside in the cold so electric heaters are quite unnecessary.

We called in for a snack having visited an event locally. The food, staff and service were absolutely lovely - nothing was too much trouble. However, the visit was marred by a cat actually walking on the adjacent table and being petted by the people sitting there. It was on a lead so obviously people were happy to have it there but we were not! One of us has a phobia of cats and I could see her state of anxiety increasing as the moments passed. She was more than happy to leave at that point. The cat was carried to the front of the book shop by a lady and was obviously the pet of the owner. I honestly don't think animals should be in areas where food is served.

I visited Nantwich with a friend and thought we would stop here for a coffee and cake. On arrival of the order they had got my coffee order incorrect .I had ordered a Cappuccino with NO chocolate sprinkles but the one that arrived was covered with it . We only ordered four items so to get one wrong was very disappointing. So that went back ,we also ordered two Cheese Scones which were very dry and certainly not that days bake . There was also a server who thought it was very clever to pile the collected plates up as high as he could and then proceeded to drop the leftover food all over the floor which wasn’t very professional at all . Also it states on the menu if you share you will be charged an extra £1 which I think is very cheeky of the owners to do that . I don’t think we will rush back there again as there are so many nicer places to eat in Nantwich.

The ‘Nantwich Bookshop and Coffee Lounge’ is in the main square and is am impressive lovely quaint old building, we went upstairs and ther are 2 main rooms overlooking the square - an olde world one and a newer one - the place was pretty full so we had to take a seat in the newer room but we were able to take our sustenance in the old room as people left so we swapped our chairs for plush Chesterfield lounges and chairs overlooking the street through the skewed windows. The whole building actually started to sink in the middle decades ago and the rooms are all wonky, we were invited to check out the attic, which was accessed by a tiny narrow flight of stairs, the attic accentuated the warped timbers of the floor and ceiling beams. The staff were very pleasant and she gave us some pointers to what to see on our journey south.

Back on the boat ‍♀️. Back in Nantwich. Lunch outside this brilliant place. As before, food excellent, service first class. Even the greyhounds got a bowl of water. Past a very pleasant and lazy hour on lunch. Enjoyed it last time and look forward to the next.

We visited on Wednesday morning for breakfast . The building and atmosphere were amazing. We sat upstairs and a lovely waiter came to serve us , full English breakfast and cafetière of coffee. It was top class produce and served beautifully. We had cappuccinos at the end which were also lovely. The service was excellent and the gentleman took time to ask us where we were from and we had a lovely conversation and were made to feel most welcome. Can't wait to return. *the idea of a bookshop surrounding us was lovely and some excellent books to purchase.

We had a very pleasant light lunch there. The food was good and reasonably priced. It was served promptly by courteous and friendly staff. It is a lovely place to visit for coffee, tea or snacks and a browse in the bookshop.

The Yellow Broom is best described as a blend of pure elegance with a splash of sophistication. The setting is undeniably beautiful, complemented by a warm welcome from the staff, who are clearly well-trained in delivering exceptional silver service. The menu offers a well-balanced selection of cuisine, ensuring there's something to delight every palate. The presentation of the dishes was nothing short of exquisite, and the flavors were simply delightful. The staff were remarkably attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. The atmosphere and layout of the restaurant were both appealing and comfortable, enhancing the overall dining experience. The Yellow Broom is a truly first-class establishment that consistently maintains high standards. I highly recommend a visit—you will not be disappointed.

The lady who runs it was welcoming insightful and charming. She gets all her meat from the local butcher which is first class. She was passionate about food and her recommendations dovetailed beautifully. My sister ate the mushrooms on toast, which she gave me to try. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection and the sauce was a perfect blend of flavour and consistency. They were really good, the lady who sat next to us has been coming for years and also recommended them, it was easy to see why. I myself had the brie and bacon ciabatta with chutney. The chutney was cooked in a slightly curried sauce which was lovely. Although I would have liked a slightly sweeter sauce maybe blueberries to cut through the mild salt in the bacon and brie but it was excellent none the less. Three breakfasts and pot's of tea for £14 per person was incredible value. I finally remembered years ago taking my daughter here for her birthday lunch and she kept asking me to take her to the place with the train running overhead, I couldn't remember at the time but she'll be overjoyed to hear I've found it. Fantastico, grazie.
