Unfortunately this friendly restaurant is now closed and has been for some time now. I would suggest the listing should be taken down until it reopens with new owners.

We came twice during a week's stay in the lovely village of Wedmore. My wife, son (10) and I really enjoyed the cooked breakfast. There's a good choice of breakfast dishes which are served well into the morning. The English breakfast with coffee was a great start to the day.A couple of days later we came back for lunch but due to its popularity, all the tables inside were booked. However, we were offered a table out at the back: they had a really pleasant garden to sit in. My son enjoyed his sausage sandwich and locally made lemonade. The simple but delicious homemade food and the friendly service makes this place highly recommended.

I would rate it above "average", but not "very good", there being no rating for "good".The meals for two of us were good and fairly substantial and were taken inside, looking out onto the garden where you could eat if you wished. The tables were laid out at a fair distance, but there could have been more covid-19 protection for us and the staff (who were very pleasant)

Lovely little restaurant. We popped in for lunch after browsing around the shops in Wedmore. Main meals homemade and looked delicious we ith large portions. We opted for prawn sandwiches which didn't disappoint, came with a, side salad and plenty of filling and tasty bread. Apple crumble for afters was delicious with a lovely crunchy topping, my friend loads of custard and I had fresh cream, also ice cream available. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Went on a weekend trip with my partner down to Cheddar. Used trip advisor to come up with a plan of places to go for breakfast and this one was on the list.We went there on Saturday at around 2:54 even though it was about to close the staff were friendly and warmly welcomed us in for scones! We loved them so much we went back again the next day for them. We live in Bath which is only an hour away and have both agreed that we will dedicate a visit just to come back and have the scones. Popped in here during a little wander around Wedmore village. An unassuming little restaurant/tea shop with a perfect little tea garden. Cream tea and, in particular, the scones were second to none. A variety of snacks and drinks you would expect. Will definitely visit again if I’m in the village.

We stopped here for lunch. It’s a nice little cafe, simple unpretentious menu, but you know it’s fresh, quality products used. Some nice little touches when you have children with you such as a box of toys, table service and he even brought out a child’s fork for our 2 year old (without being asked) which was a nice touch.Garden area out the back and it was all very clean.Pleasant, friendly staff (father and daughter at a guess). All in all a nice place to have a quick bite at reasonable prices. We will be back.

A few of us were on a long weekend break and happened to try Nanny Ida's for breakfast. Tony greeted and served us and made it a very welcoming and friendly experience. The setting is in keeping with what you would expect from a country establishment - cosy and traditional - and the food was top-notch and well priced. What a wonderful place! My partner and I visited this fabulous place after I had seen it advertised online. From the moment we walked in we were met with a wonderful flagstone floor and a slightly low ceiling, we could feel the age of the place and it feel lovely! Next we were greeted by the wonderful staff who were constantly smiling and helpful throughout our time there. We sat in the tea garden and we were so impressed with how lovely and quaint it was, we also could see the church tower from where we were sat which was a lovely bonus. We ate yummy sandwiches, full to the brim with fillings and enjoyed a lovely cup of tea. The cost of two sandwiches and two teas was very reasonably, no wonder the place was very busy! We tried Nanny Ida's after being too late (1104) for breakfast at our usual haunt in Wedmore. My friend ordered the small English breakfast with tea and I ordered a cappuccino and eggs Benedict. The young gentleman at the counter was polite, helpful and friendly and was more than willing to accommodate my mate's very weak tea and my breakfast without the potatoes. The food and drinks arrived promptly, was beautifully prepared and was excellent value for money. I also, am not aware of any other establishment in the area who offers eggs Benedict on their menu, which is a firm favourite. Another bonus was that we were able to leave our road bikes securely and safely in the back garden and we could see them from our table indoors too. In summary, great food, excellent value, lovely staff and cycle friendly. Highly recommended.

I don't know about you but it's nice to be treated like a long lost friend but without it being to intrusive. I had a prawn cocktail to start, a good portion but not to much with the dressing underneath the prawns. For my main course I had the steak pie with chips and veg. It was home cooked so a bit of a wait, but with a decent selection of drinks you don't mind. The steak was perfect and the pastry just right. But for me the vegetables gently dipping a toe into some melted butter was the highlight and cooked to perfection. If you are in Wedmore, come here for food!

Typically displaying that their heart and sole as a village Baker and despite being closed during the current lockdown situation they turned out on Good Friday and delivered free hot cross buns to villagers. These buns were welcome and deliciously bakery fresh. Thank you to you all.

Superb atmosphere, the best steak I’ve had in my life! (10oz fillet) chef was so down to earth and welcoming - showed us different cuts of steak and told us about their source. Went above and beyond for service - orders taken quickly and all staff friendly and polite. Felt a very cosy and happy little village pub. Will definitely be back for more steak and the fresh salad bowls that come with it! :) Thank you so much ☺️

Poor service, the two boys was unfriendly. Had to ask twice where our drink and food was. Was very basic for what they charge. Well over cooked. Could have gone done my local burger van and got better food and service. Felt extremely let down as we used to go there a lot of our visits to cheddar. But no longer. Over £70.00 spent, could have had a nice meal else where for less. Extremely disappointed ☹️ never go back. When we complain they did nothing to sort it.
