Nando's - Newcastle Eldon Square in Newcastle upon Tyne

I’m a loyal customer of Nando’s , and this place made me think twice about it, it’s horrible the table was shaking and not stable they didn’t have straws not only one time , I visited it 2 times and both times they didn’t have straws .

Emma was amazing! Great service all evening for me and my friend! Food tasty as always, and super quick! You always know what to expect with Nando’s, it’s always 8/10 or higher!🤩

There were a lot of items out of stock, and the slaw was totally different to what I get at other nandos, however I'm assuming they must have had a supply or delivery issue. There were none of the spiciest sauce options available which was dissapointing

It’s a great place for friends to meet. We had sharing platters. There are 15 wings with two large or four regular sides. I recommend that everyone should choose corn on the cob. It is served with butter. So delicious! And you can choose your own level of spiciness. Their legendary PERi-PERi is made with African Bird’s Eye Chillies, a splash of lemon, and a kick of garlic.”

Been to this venue many times and usually very good. Young lad on the till not very efficient. Ordered the 3 starters for (I think £9.95) but only put through as 2 starters. CLEARLY STATED “NO ONIONS” 3 times. Loaded fries turned up with Onions so were sent back, due to a slight allergy. New ones bought out, which were promised to be freshly made. Yet one of our party ordering another beer at the till, witnessed the staff, PICKING OUT THE ONIONS WITH THEIR FINGERS and sending it back out. Shocking!! New ones made but that was unforgivable. My fino pitta was devoid of any garnish, just the chicken. Although that was cooked to perfection. Really not on brand.

Food was fine but some staff were very rude and def needed more trainings for the better customer service

Food was standard Nando's quality, so it was great. What really set them apart was the management. Everyone was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and accommodating. The manager even apologized for a 10-minute wait for our food, despite us coming in expecting a much longer wait. However, a point of improvement would be to ensure cutlery is cleaned properly- as we noticed quite a few of the cutlery were not. While we did find clean ones to use, it didn't inspire confidence that in the overall hygiene.

Superb service at the Nandos Eldon Sq. branch on the evening of Saturday 27th July. Last minute walk-in with a group of 26 (mixture of adults and children). The management and staff were absolutely superb, incredibly accommodating and deserve a medal for dealing with us ! Food was spot on. Would certainly recommend.

Nando's Newcastle Eldons Square restaurant a short distance from the city center, not far from the Monument. After entering, they will select a table for you and show you to it. The restaurant has a ground floor, a first floor and a front garden. There is a simple menu. You have to bring cutlery, napkins, seasoning set, glasses of water to the table yourself. You also have to go to the counter to order, when you look for food on the menu. After placing the order, you pay at the counter. They just bring a tray with the ordered food to your table. Very simple environment and minimal maintenance.

Came here for lunch on sat 6th July 2024 Staff friendly ,assisted with food allergies gave us a sheet to read about allergies ,ingredients etc for gluten free . Made to feel welcome, food lovely

Had a great meal. Loving the new menu choices. It was quite busy but staff handled it well and didn’t have to wait long at all. Perfect!

Absolutely awful experience first we didn’t receive our drinks, we had to eventually ask AFTER our meal had came (late) so not only did she forget the drinks that came in the meal, my chicken was tiny it was very very tough and pale i’ll be lucky if i don’t have food poisoning by the morning!!!!!

It's been years since myself and family have dined at this Nando's location. Have particularly fond memories of when my son was studying at Newcastle University. So we'd pop in and have some very excellent and inexpensive meals at Nando's.

Everytime we visits New Castle …we always have our Nando’s 1/2 grilled chicken for our lunch, ( It’s licking finger delicious!) & the service here is always fast and today the waiter is so nice coz he introduced me with the Nando’s card -:) am so please with his thoughtfulness.🌞

John hung up on me after I asked what type of bone they used. I am incredibly disappointed as much fat skinny son called max wanted a nandos even though we were all having a Chinese. Then my gran phoned asking how the family was but before I could answer John came to my house took the doorbell and continued to go home. Then I cried as my pet elephant peed in my mouth. It tasted quite nice actually. In conclusion after reviewing all pieces of evidence I think that just like in Isaiah 2:4 God as the ultimate judge will bring justice some time in the future. However. Isaiah 2:4 also states that God as the as forgiver wil bring peace some time in the future. I think that this Is a strong argument as it includes many pieces of evidence.

Excellent friendly and very helpful staff, made sure I was reassured that my food would be cooked carefully as I am a Coeliac and have to be careful with cross contamination. Good food to and enjoyed what I had.

A really busy lunch service today but the staff were brilliant, we were a table of 3 plus a high chair only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. Food was good and really good service.

First time having nando's in the UK and was not disappointed Got a full platter with chips, mash and corn All the sides were great and the chicken was fall apart tender.

Let's start with entering the restaurant, the entrance is downstairs and you are expected to climb a lot of stairs or use an awful jittery lift to reach the restaurant. Once you arrive you are seated in a cramped area so good luck when you bring a scooter or pram with you. Next, you are forced to order using their app. No orders taken at the table, you do this yourself. Also, do you want cutlery, sauces, napkins etc. Well, you are getting those yourself too. The food was really good, a little overpriced but in line with how the sector has gone since COVID. Oh, self-service drinks as well. Overall, if you want to feel like you work there but enjoy good food then this is the place for you.

Anold provided a great service for me and my wife. He was friendly to us and helped us understand what we want as food. It was great experience for me and my wife to enjoy a fabulous meal due to Arnold.

Broken stairs, real wobbly tables, dirty drink station, sauce bottles with old dry sauce on them - dirty windows- dirty floor didn't look like been cleaned in bit or just don't move tables - wobbly toilet seats in female toilets - chips were hot didn't think the chicken was above warm - 1 staff member was fairly enthusiastic the rest not so. Felt as tho was a waste off money overall experience not great

Firstly I went to order my usual yet they told me I was not allowed to order it and that I was short on money even though my order cost £15. When my mam came in to order the woman immediately said it was a misunderstanding even thought she said to me that I wasn’t allowed to order it. Once we had all ordered my friend ended up waiting 40 minutes to find out they hadn’t bothered with her order and my other two friends weren’t given their drinks. Finally my other friends order was completely wrong. Overall not a very good experience considering it was for a birthday.

Food is always very good st Nandos.

I just been to this Nando’s. There was about 3 staff walking past and I allowed them to walk past it should be the other way round, not one said thank you. Once I had my food I removed the sauces and plates off my table and still not a thank you. When me and my mam left the restaurant the staff just looked at us not even a thanks for coming nothing. The food was nice but overpriced .

One of the best nandos we have visted up and down the country. Definitely put it in top 3 Fast service, minimum wait for a table, Staff was polite and it's clean. The food was outstanding. Hot and fresh.

Average Nandos but service was very slow, i had the exact same meal as my friend who ordered only 2 minutes before me but my food took 30 minutes longer to be delivered to my table, no apology. Would of been nice if blinds were higher so we could see the view

This Nandos was amazing, we got there on a Sunday night and it was very quiet, the staff were very friendly as soon as we got in. Me and my mum both ordered a quarter chicken but they said they had spare food, so they gave us each half a chicken. The food was delicious.

A good experience for food and drink.

The restaurant is upstairs, two steps need maintenance. A big lamp hugging from the ceiling is very beautiful but a bit broken now. I wonder about the cleanliness of the restaurant on my way up... Very friendly welcome and service, nice chicken and big portions. It wasn't very busy and it was very comfortable and agradable to be there. Nice views from the big window by the tables to Newcastle and the square. Nothing to complain, just a bit more love to get this five stars.

Food very nice as usual. Service not so good on this visit, after a mixup the server didn't get back to me after half our food didn't arrive and avoided us. Had to go to the manager to sort it out, he was very nice and apologetic offering free desert as an apology.

havent been here in a good few years not too sure if id be back either. Took 5 minutes to be seated & restaurant wasnt even half full. Our food was stood on the pass for longer than expected aswell so wasn’t exactly the nicest. Service wasn’t exactly the best either & nobody came back to check on our food. Unfortunately the chicken did not taste the nicest but no staff were around to mention this to.

Staff are great and food is as good as always but the place is in dire need of an overhaul... tiles are missing of the staircase, toilets are frankly no longer fit for purpose... i dread to think what the back of house looks like.. Nando's please don't take your customers for granted and invest some money in your facilities!

Had a lovely Grilled Halloumi and Mushroom Pitta. Filled to the brim with salad which I don't get in other Nando's for some reason! Wanted to thank them for the nice meal but forgot to. The staff were friendly though.

We had lunch here today (Saturday afternoon) it was packed. And the staff was so friendly and polite! You could tell they were really busy. The waiters were walking around with food and wiping tables. When we unexpectedly had to leave, while waiting on our food, they boxed everything up, not even asked why Thank you a million, Erin and Emma! Love from Amsterdam

Lovely service really nice people, I liked the fact you can order from your table on the phone. It was my first visit to Newcastle and this place wasn't too busy.

I was very pleased with food and service was excellent the young girl who served me and my grandchild was more than helpfull I didn't know which bread I wanted she recommended pitta bread it was a lovely meal we can't wait to return.

Food on point as usual. Would advice you go there to book a spot on busy days before continuing your shopping as there was about 15-20mins wait for a table the day we went (27th of Dec) might just be that period but it's worth checking first.

Staff are super friendly, as always food was cooked pretty perfectly. Tried their hummus for the first time today, it's actually quite good, would recommend it.

Got in and got seated into a cramped and claustrophobic corner. The branches of the plant behind me were up against my back. Asked my friend if we could move but according to her it was rude. Whatever. The sun was also blinding me where we were sitting. Bad place to sit customers. Didn't even get a view because the blinds were down. (If you are wondering how I was blinded with the blinds down it was the gaps).Now the meal. Ordered this veggie burger. It was cold, the bread was dry and felt like I was eating cardboard had to leave it and eat the cold burger out the middle. My friend said the creamy mash was 'to die for' and that I wouldn't regret getting it. That was also dry and wouldn't describe it as creamy. Don't get what the fuss is over nandos. Maybe it's because I'm vegetarian but if you are going to provide veggie meals make that nice at least. Or maybe it was just this particular nandos. Waste of £13 never again. Tbh it bored me.

very poor meal , dry boring chicken, had double chicken burger with chips, cold, dull and horrible other nandos must be better, but this was awful cannot see what all the fuss is about,

Visited Nandos last night and there had been an incident which meant that no one could go upstairs and there was an ambulance outside. However, the waiter who was left to deal with this did so with grace and a smile, he was extremely positive and helpful offering us a free drink while we waited and I couldn't fault him. Thought he really deserved a thank you!

I have been to this restaurant many times just for quickness and convenience. Overtime, the food becomes boring, dull and I have noticed a drop in the staffs work ethic and the quality of the food. For the past four times I have visited, I have waited in several long cues when only a few members of staff were working tills, however I understand that this problem may occur from time to time and is not always the staffs fault. Also, my food has been warm not piping hot and there has been a few occasions when some side dishes were more or less cold. I wouldn't recommend Nandos for a special occasion dinner or anything high class, i will only dine here if everywhere else is busy and I still fancy a sit down meal

Hadn't been to Nandos for years, for no particular reason, but my 12yo picked it for night out with family. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Nice chicken, great sides and unlimited top ups on soft drinks. We all enjoyed it. kids and teens always love it, they have a point!

No entiendo muy bien la política de empresa de tener que ir a pedir como si fuese un restaurante de comida rápida. Es un restaurante portugués y la mayoría de sus comidas se basan en pollo y diferentes tipos de salsa de menos a más picante. En cuanto al precio puede salir unos 30£ por pareja si no pides nada de postre. Como anécdota una chica del staff fue poco respetuosa y se reía de nosotros mientras pedíamos. Como recomendación personal, yo elegiría otros muchos mejores sitios en Newcastle.

Of all the Nando's restaurants I've been to, this one is always the best. The food is consistently good throughout all the Nando's restaurants, but the service here is always the best. We always enjoy visiting this place when we're in town.

Of all the Nanos restaurants which I have visited this is probably the best. I have never had cause to complain. The food is always tasty and served piping hot.

Wonderful sunny afternoon, outdoor seating and maybe some chicken and salad sounds like a winner to me but not so. I cannot bring myself to call Nando's a restaurant as it does not deserve this title. We sat down to be told we had to order and pay at the counter. The menu was poor and the prices high for what was on offer. We ordered chicken and salad at around £8.50. The salad was reasonable, but nothing special and the chicken, not even the size of a chicken breast was dry, overcooked, and tasteless. One of our compary had a chicken wrap at £6.95. Nothing to it but a small amount of chicken, yes overcooked, a timy amount of lettuce and some red spicy saucy rolled in a tastless wrap.All in all very disappointing and extremely poor value.

I've visited this placed on a regular basis for a while but I won't be back! The chicken was tough and chewy - awful and the chips were cold - it was as though the chips were cooked first then they'd forgotten about the chicken so it was overdone! Whilst I appreciate the restaurant was busy - the quality of the food should not deteriorate- really disappointed.

I love this place so much it's my most favourite place in the whole wide world and makes me so happy. Recommend this place to anybody who loves chicken and good service

Good lunch stop. Close to shopping and convenient to Newcastle University. Peri Peri chicken is a good choice. The hot is very hot.

There was a group of 6 of us and we had a lot of baggage with us. They were able to keep that secure downstairs so that was very nice of them. Once seated, the table was awkward for the people at the ends because they were bench seats. I've never been to Nando's before and was slightly surprised at how expensive the food was, especially the wraps. Plus I was slightly surprised by the self-service method of ordering food because for the price paid for our meals, I'd have expected better. I got the 3 wings and chips for a light bite to eat, which although may not be as extravagant or tasty as the wraps, was by far better value for money! Got quite busy towards the end of our meal because that was peak time for lunch. ..Everyone I know seems to love Nando's but I wasn't that impressed. I have to say the upstairs layout was quite nice and views out into Eldon Square were great :)

入口は狭いので、こじんまりりた場所をイメージしていたのですが、階段を使って2階に上がると、すぐ目の前の公園が一望出来てかなり開放的な気分が味わえます。自分でメニューを手にして空いた席に座り（案内され）、メニューを持って行ってカウンターで注文します。冷たい飲み物はグラスが渡されて日本のドリンクバーのようです。私は温かい飲み物だったので詳細はわかりませんが、おかわりをとりに来ている人もいてノーチェック？？かもしれません。チキンのセットされたサラダを注文しましたが、これがこの値段か～っとがっかり。もしもまた行くことがあるとしたら、食事はせず、飲み物だけをたのんで外を見ながらのリラックスタイムという利用の仕方をしたいと思います。

Das Nando´s ist eine südafrikanische Restaurantkette, die Hähnchenprodukte in unterscheidlichen Marinanden anbietet. Die Bedienung ist stets freundlich und hilfbereit. So wurde mir bei meinem ersten Besuch ein kleiner Probierteller angeboten um herauszufinden, welche Geschmacksrichtung ( Schärfegrad ) ich bei meinen Hähnchenteilen bevorzuge. Wenn man mit mehreren Leuten dort essen geht, kann ich die Jumbo Platter für 4 Personen empfehlen. Zu zwei ganzen Hähnchen kann man zusätzlich 5 unterschiedliche Beilagen wählen. Satt wird man auf alle Fälle

My friends love Nando's. I'd never been, so finally went to try it with the lady a few weeks ago. Maybe we went at the wrong time of day, but our food had been sitting under the heat lamps for a little too long (especially the chips). I like how they have big bottles of sauce that you can slather all over your food, and I will go back at some point to see if we just got unlucky that day, but the food on the first experience didn't really meet our expectations.

This restaurant is situated in the centre of Newcastle. We were looking for somewhere to eat on our weekend visit to the area. We came across this restaurant and as we have visited other Nando's we decided to try it. Even though it was about 5.30 we didn't have to wait for a table. Even though it was busy we didn't have to wait long to order our food, which arrived quite quickly. It was of the usual high quality. The staff were very helpful and polite. Would certainly visit again when we visit Newcastle again.

Went there with my husband for the first time after he recommended the place. A little few to choose from, however the quality and presentation were outstanding. You have a large selection of sauces you can freely use to add to your dish. Very nice for the price too.

I called with two friends over the Christmas period whilst shopping for gifts. As first timers they were impressed by Nandos and per usual the food was enjoyable. However, the place had an atmosphere no better than a funeral. The waitress had no social skills whatsoever and quietly mumbled everything to herself. The downstairs of the restaurant is grubby and very tired. The food was perfectly fine and service was very quick, though at the end of the day it's £10 for glorified chicken and chips, not the most bang for your buck. Overall a fairly average restaurant...

Normally Nandos is the same regardless of the location but this one wins for lack of customer service.Firstly free tables but have to wait 15 minutes, then ordered the sharing boneless platter only to find everything had been put through separately, asked for the appetisers to come with the mains but they rocked up 10 mins early and were cold, items missing and when ordering said forgotten my nandos card can you put the code on the receipt it was missing but the cashier did say if he remembered and someone else didn't need a receipt he would give me a code.Booths taken up by Nandos staff which you thought would've sat downstairs where it was empty to allow customers to sit down when it was starting to get busy.Seriously go to another Nandos not this one!! Chicken good ... experience dreadful

As with all nandos, this is essentially a fast food restaurant with cheap quality food. If I wanted to eat frozen chicken with pre-made sauce I would have just stayed at home.

We love Nando's, but this was the first time we'd visited the Eldon Square branch. The restaurant was large, and on two floors, and we found it to be spacious, clean and bright. The service was good and we received our food quickly and just as we had ordered it. It was piping hot and obviously fresh. No doubt we will be back again next time we are in Newcastle!

i know its origin, from South Africa and was very happy to find it here, very nice and delicious food. It's across the UK but it's good to be in city center of Newcastle
