Jasmine gave excellent service, was very attentive and friendly. Asking us which table we would like and solving any issues we had quickly.

I have recently developed food allergies, and currently struggle to go out to restaurants to eat. The staff here went above and beyond for me on my most recent visiti. The manager on duty, whose name I sadly can't remember, was amazing! She made sure that I was well informed and reassured me that every measure would be taken to ensure no cross contamination happened during the preparation of my food. This was already more than enough, but despite this she was very friendly and double checked with me what my allergies were and ran through my order with me to double check my order did not contain any of my allergens. The service was great and she even suggested some foods and other sides I could try next time and also gave me abg to take home a few of their sauce sachets to help me spice up my sad elimination diet! It was very kind of her. The food was cooked wonderfully and I felt safe when eating my meal, she also brought it over and checked to make sure there was nothing else that I needed. As someone who newly suffers with allergies, this was my first experience dining out where I didn't feel like my request was too much, their allergy information is also easily accessible with some good food options for allergy sufferers! Thank you so much to the team for making this experience so wonderful!

Visited for dinner. I hardly ever write reviews but wanted to because the customer service provided by Hannah was superb. My wife has a gluten allergy and Hannah had exceptional knowledge of the menu, and talked through process that removed any risk of cross contamination. This is the best experience of going to a restaurant with an allergy we have ever experienced it was just so easy! Many Thanks to Hannah as well as Rachel who provided great service at the service till, all very thorough with the allergy checking and processes!

I am a lover of Nando’s and visiting this Nando’s was very disappointing. We stopped here for some lunch when visiting Southampton and didn’t expect it too busy as it was early Sunday afternoon. We walked in and it was fairly quiet as it was a small restaurant, it looked a bit busier than normal but I believe this to be due to the small restaurant size. We sat down and were informed that there was only one person working who had to manage the front door, counter and food delivery. The restaurant got busier and busier and I could not help but feel very sorry for the man who had to deal with this. We ordered through the app and he brought our glasses to us straight away (no complaints he was amazing throughout) however, this is when it started to go wrong. The drinks machine was dispensing out clear liquid and even when the barrel was changed it was very flat and not good for the price we paid. Our food then came and it was not up to the usual Nando’s standard, my chips were ROCK solid and I couldn’t hardly eat them. I am very disappointed and let down by this Nando’s experience and can’t say I will be visiting the Southampton Nando’s again.

Tasty food and brilliant customer service! They even sang for our friends birthday! Jack was especially good at making it a memorable experience and went above and beyond to make it a special birthday! : )

Pretty consistent with other Nando’s and didn’t notice the dirty door mat and old chairs which the previous reviewer commented on. We both ordered Chicken & Halloumi burgers which arrived quick and hit the spot!

Chosen as a quick place to eat. Dirty entrance mat should have been a warning. Ditto the grubby banquette seats. Chicken burger was a measly piece of chicken in a "Portugese" roll which was dry brittle outside and cardboard on the inside. To get a glass of water involved going to the counter, interrupting the conversation and being directed to a self service point. Same for the advertised sauces. The chips were good.

This was only our second visit to a Nando's and I have to say how delighted we all were. We ordered on the app from our table and our meals arrived promptly, hot and correct. When my daughter was struggling with an almost empty bottle of ketchup, the waiter glided up and provided her with a brand new unopened bottle without being asked. Now that's service! My family and I had an amazing time. The manager working went above and beyond to ensure we had a great lunch. My mum thought it was really sweet that someone was so passionate about customer service. We could also see that he was always on his feet and proactively visiting tables, organising the kitchen, and prioritising customer satisfaction. The food was great as usual, we come to Nandos for the consistency in quality and a reliable lunch spot!

Felt compelled to write a review as the service we had tonight (17/12/22) was excellent. They were super busty but the guy in the door was super accommodating and the other staff were beyond helpful. A lot of restaurants could learn from the service given. Food was good as ever.

Lovely experience, great food, our daughter loved her first time here, friendly staff, will come again when we are next in Southampton after a shopping trip.

I’d never been to a Nando’s before. The people I was with were enthusiastic. I really can’t think why. Tasteless, dry chicken served without a smile. Pricey for the awful food that was served up. Disappointed and appalled this rubbish is a favourite with so many people.

We ordered online for delivery via deliveroo. The order took almost an hour and a half, and the food arrived cold with some items burnt. It was a disappointing experience after having a couple of good sit down meals here.

Had a fantastic visit to this Nando’s. When asking about allergy information they had this to hand straight away and when we had a couple of questions they found this information out quickly. Fantastic quick service, hot & tasty food. Took allergies really seriously and took care with food. Friendly and attentive serving staff. Clean restaurant and toilets. Would definitely be back again.

I'm not a massive fan of nandos as I find it can be quite inconsistent, however this was a great restaurant. I had 1/4 chicken with fries and corn. The food was nice and hot when served and the chips were crispy. The service was good and quick and an overall nice experience. This is definitely one of the better nandos I've visited.

Our group of 6 was badly let down by a nearby business, and, being a Saturday night near Christmas, we didn't have much hope of fidning somewhere. Nandos had us sorted. We were welcomed by a lovely team and were accomodated brilliantly. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful (shoutout Jenny!), and the food was superb and exactly what was needed. As with all Nandos, the meal by itself is small unless sides are ordered, but the overall experience here was superb and we shall return very very soon!

I visited for a small snack meal, before attending a wine-tasting at Majestic. I ordered a quarter-chicken (hot spice) without any extras, and an apple juice. These were very reasonably priced and the total bill was around £7. The chicken was not particularly hot, spice-wise, but bottles of sauce are available to top the spicing up. The apple juice was a good-sized glass, with no hint of added sugar. You can add your own ice. My three encounters with the staff were all impressive. When I asked where the cutlery was, one offered to fetch it for me. Another checked whether my chicken was OK, a third thanked me for coming as I left. Very commendable, and not really expected in a chain restaurant like this.

Nice food and did not have to wait too long before being seated. Prices were quite reasonable and the food was hot when served at the table.

Considering this is meant be fast turnover resturant 40mins is slow waiting for a salad and forgot the chicken breast. The server just dumped the meal and went before i had a chance to tell anyone about my grievances. So up i go back to find someone to help me. The chicken breast then comes out 5mins later at a mediocre temperature, luckily i got the seasoning hot.Will not visit this one again.

We were visiting Southampton and, at dinner time, we decided to come in to Nando's.It was our first visit to this franchise, and I have to say that it was a pleasant surprise. Tasty food (including children's menu), lots of different options to choose, nice and helpful staff (this is one of the highlights of this restaurant in Southampton), and good value for money.I would repeat again.

Lovely visit with two of my friends, along with a 6month old and a 1yr old. Great service, the person serving us had small kids so was very supportive as we all took it turns to order, get drinks etc.Only downside during this visit was that none of the bottomless drinks from the self serve machine were fizzy. I asked 3 different staff members if they could sort it out , they all had a look and tasted it but it still wasnt fizzy.Nothing worse than flat diet coke!

Thank you today for very helpful service when working out a meal for my granddaughter. Very helpful waiter and manager with their ‘ book ‘ Sorry about the glass that accidentally dropped on the floor and smashed into a trillion pieces and a big thank you to the very kind waitress who had the horrible job of brushing it up ! Called in for lunch before we went to St Mary’s for the football. Friendly staff and clean and bright atmosphere. Helpful with gluten free options and food was hot and delicious. Would recommend.

Recently stopped off here,on our way to a concert at the Mayflower, fast efficient service,food delivered to table in 15 minutes, served piping hot,toasted delicious,staff all friendly and welcoming ,if we are in the area again,will definitely return.

This restaurant was busy but the service was quick. The food was served warm and tasted delicious. All the staff were very pleasant.

The chicken at this place really is special. If I was a chicken, I'd sign up to be cooked up in one of these restaurant chains. I would happily wipe out the entire chicken population in Europe to ensure Nando's never runs out. I'd eat a pigeon rubbed in their secret rubs if I had to. Don't even get me started on them peri-salted chips. I don't know where one gets peri salt, but it's much better than the pink Himalayan salt you get from TK maxx (I've covered that in a separate review). I've had the mash from here before which is a little bit like 'smash' but that's the kinda mistake I only had to make Once. I also think it's important to not over-look the free refills. Free refills at a restaurant is hard to find, like a Lidls without a bouncer. But once you've found it, you milk it for all it's worth. And it's fair to say I'm my last few trips, I have well and truly milked the Nando's chain. Thank you.

Typical Nandos in every respect - efficient very friendly staff and the usual good food. Good price in the centre of the city. The interior is ok but not very adventurous as some Nandos are.

Came here with my lad and his g/f who is a student in Southampton for his birthday. There were 4 of us. Service was prompt, food was plentiful and hot. Only thing was the queue. Think they could open the other till for orders and drinks. 4/5

I ate here for the first time in five years and it'll probably be that long before I go back. There just isn't enough diversity on the menu in Nandos for me and in my opinion it's a glorified KFC. I tried a wrap this time just to try something different but it wasn't anything special, no different to a wrap from KFC yet they cost twice as much. To be fair the chicken in Nandos is good but so is the chicken in KFC, there's little difference except the prices.

I went for lunch here with my daughter and 1 year old granddaughter. Staff were lovely. Food was lovely. All our food arrived promptly and was fresh and hot. I got a little teased by our server for having a cup of tea on a hot day lol well done Nando’s Southampton

A regular haunt for a lunch time catch up with the guys in the office. The service is consistently good, (there's not much they could get wrong tbh when you have to go and order your own food and serve your own drink) but the place always appears clean and tidy, and we're always greeted with the standard welcome, so top points for consistency. This is the closest Nandos to our home , literally 10 mins walk, but i rather go to Nandos in west quays or my favourite Nandos whiteley than coming down here. We went twice to have dinner, it seems like as if its a college or university's canteen. The staff were mostly students standing and chatting with each other, It takes ages for the order to come , also didn't find it as clean as other Nando's . So , this place is definitely not for us!!

Due to a fractured ankle I was struggling to get around. They were so helpfully throughout our visit. When I needed to go to the loo a very kind young man leapt to open the door and rushed off to get the key for the disabled toilet. Oh and the food was great too. Thanks

Having called at lunchtime to reserve a table I was told by a member of staff that as the time I requested was quite early for an evening meal, I wouldn't need to book. My son and I arrived just after 6pm which I thought would allow us plenty of time to enjoy a relaxed pre-theatre meal. We were met by another member of staff who told me bookings aren't taken on a weekend - all I can say is this policy needs to be changed. We had to wait around 20 minutes to be seated and then another 20 or so for food to arrive! I then had to bolt my food down and leave my unfinished drink behind in order to make it to the theatre (pretty much next door) to collect my tickets and be seated in the theatre in time for the show. I suffered indigestion for the rest of the evening and our evening out was nearly ruined. If ever in Southampton again we will definitely choose elsewhere to dine

Went after work on a Friday with colleagues and six of us had a round table in the middle.The menu was quite extensive and it took a while to choose. Then it became clear that you have to go and queue up to pay first. Seemed rather odd as you would then have to queue up again to order additional drinks, desert etc.The food came in good time and was tasty and plentiful. Given the prices it was pretty good value too. Cider was South African Savannah.I would certainly return and try something different.

Fabulously set out. Clean, tidy and very very busy. Seated immediately and food arrived within 15 mins. Beautiful chicken, halloumi pitta with sides of coleslaw n salad. Butterfly chicken and salad. All the food was delicious and the staff couldnt do enough for everyone. Perfect - well done!

Called in on New Years Day, it was my daughter's 7th Birthday, had stuff planned at the house but thought we'd nip out for a quick lunch before her little party. As it was her Birthday she wanted to take her No.7 balloon..We put it on the bench seat next to us. Server sat us down, very pleasant. Shortly after another server explained the kids menu to us, gave the kids colouring-in, I ordered at the till very slick. Shortly after the food was delivered, presented well and tasted great, nice & hot..Another server came over and took a picture of us. Kids desserts explained and delivered..Great food service & great food. So why not 5 stars? I was really surprised that out of the 4 people that served us, no-one acknowledged that it was my daughter's birthday.. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting a cake with candles or a chorus of 'Happy Birthday' but I do think a simple 'Happy Birthday' would have been nice, after all the Helium Balloon was a bit of a giveaway! Daughter didn't mind, she was happy tucking into her Birthday Lunch. Just a little surprised that an Organisation such as Nando's who run an efficient family orientated operation here, missed an opportunity that for me, although very simple, would have made a real difference. Having said all that, wouldn't stop me going back as probably the best Nandos food I've eaten.

We came here at 9pm and they are still serving food. Friendly staff. 20 per cent NHS discount available. We ordered the whole chicken to share and 2 large side. Soft drinks are refillable. We had the yogurt ice cream for desert is refillable aswell. Love the food there.

The best chicken burgers in England! I love the Fino sides, especially the sweet potato wedges. The mashed potatoes and regular fries are also good. It's self-service mostly, but well worth the money!

Me and friend went here as this is a chain that we use regularly and tend to enjoy the food. We arrived and were greeted well. We were sat down and ordered our food. Both my friend and I were ordering separately as paying individually but sat on the same table. My friend who ordered 1 minute before I did has her food way before mine turned up. My friend had nearly finished her meal so I asked a supervisor where my food was and she said she would double check. She came and bought it over and said that it was just dont as I asked which is not true as it had been on the hot plate with about 10-14 other meals waiting to be delivered to their tables. My food was luke warm. When we were eating the supervisor was at the table next to us as they were making a complaint. The supervisor dealt with this very well. Overall I was dissappointed with the meal and would not rush back here.

I went with a group from work. First visit, as the focus is obviously chicken and I am vegetarian. The restaurant, although seated, is probably closer to fast food - order at the counter etc. Decor was ok though and though found us a table quickly despite being a large group. I ordered a portobello mushroom and halloumi pitta, with chips and corn. The portions were ok, though I was a bit disappointed in the heat - not knowing how hot the sauces really were, I opted for hot based on the menu descriptions and it was fairly mild. The chips were a bit generic too, maybe they're missing a trick by not adding some sort of spice mix. Decent enough and fairly priced but not sure I'd go back.

We've eaten here a few timess and always hadgoid service and hot tasty food. More everyday degenerate fine dining, but food arrives quite quickly and there's no hanging round to get your bill at the end.

Shopping can be tiring and if you need a pick me up Nando's has it. Wings boneless bone in any flavor you want or add from the counter. A pint to go a long with and the poor bloke shopping with the wife is in seventh heaven. Oh and they do have other food items salads and burgers and stuff. But I couldn't get beyond the wings.

We went to Nando's (as this is a safe chain of we often use for our son with allergies) and they did not disappoint. This Nando's was immaculately clean, the staff we're really attentive and took care of cooking my sons food to avoid any cross contamination. The food was served really quickly and was delicious! We will definitely be back again soon!

We made a last minute trip to the new Nando's in Southampton as we had not anything in for dinner. Service was prompt with happy smiling staff. Food came quickly and was great quality. Only slight moan but it's more of a Westquay thing was it was slightly chilly at the tables.

You know what your getting with Nandos. There's a couple of guys I work with and when things get to much we regularly ditch the lunch box and head over to Nando's. I like the fact that its expected for each individual in a group to go up and order there own food there is now awkwardness about trying to split the bill at the end of the meal.We've learnt from experience to leave the office just before the standard 12.00 or 1.00 lunch time to get a good table and avoid the inevitable queue to order food. That said the team are clearly motivated to work hard and fast and always get the queue under control and the food out in good time. Bottomless drinks and the Nando's chilli reward scheme is a nice touch.

We Visited Saturday afternoon , it was just as the football was kicking out , so I think it was extra busy with that, Xmas shopping and general Saturday human traffic. Moving on..We embarrassingly probably eat at a Nando's once week , we know what we like ..always order the same thing and always enjoy it. For whatever reason we felt certain items weren't quite up to there normal great and consistent standards on this occasion , so obviously pointed it out to John the manager on duty. He dealt with the problem in a professional and swift manner, we left satisfied, happy and confident that Nando's took customer satisfaction seriously. I've been to many of the chains nearby for Nando's and this one by far stands out as having quick and friendly service. The waiters can never do enough for you, with making sure your okay without perserting you too much. Very friendly, always go to this one over the WestQuay one.

This is by far the best nandos in Southampton. Always clean and tidy. Waiting staff are very friendly. Food is always cooked well with plenties of spice just how I like it. Food comes out promptly. Great place for tasty fast food

First time at Nando's (yeah I know which planet have I been on) overall a good experience, great welcome and restaurant explained for my benefit, food was hot fast and good value. Added benefit was an unexpected 20% business discount!

Nice restaurant with super speedy service. Food is as to be expected from Nandos. Okay food but nothing special. Definitely need to improve the quality of the chips and stop adding so much syrup to the fizzy drinks.

A party of 9 of us dined here to celebrate GCSEs results of my son and his girlfriend. The restaurant was busy so we had to wait for a table. We ordered the food in 2 separate orders but at the same time. Our food arrived promptly however there was a long delay waiting for the rest of the food. When queried the waitress checked and came back over to the table to apologise that there were problems with the ovens so offered to cook our food from fresh, give vouchers or offered some additional items from the menu. We decided on the additional items. The rest of the food do arrived along with the additional items then my son and girlfriend also received free deserts. The way the problem was handled was a credit to our waitress Lizzie and meant that we still enjoyed the evening and will return.Well done Lizzie and Nandos.

I had once before visited this Nando's when it had just open and had a horrendous experience. The staff were rude and did not care for their customers at all. The food took a long while and was cold when arrived. So when my partner suggested we go there, I was rather cautious. We went in on a busy sunny Wednesday evening and were seated almost immediately by a lovely waitress named Lia. My partner went to order and we were expecting around a half an hour wait. Our food to our delight came in about 15 minutes! A lovely surprise and it was piping hot! We asked Lia for condiments and she had no problems with it at all, a lovely polite waitress who is wonderful to her customers.A check back and everything was fantastic. I'm glad I decided to come back to the Guildhall Nando's and definitely will again.

Visited the new Nando's restuarant in the Cultural Quarter, Southampton with freinds. Very busy but the service was as good as it should have been. Food served promptly and hot. Very nice experience with a nice atmosphere.

This visit didn't quite match our expectations. The staff were polite, enthusiastic and helpful. The quality of some of the food let them down. A dry bun, dry chicken breast, hot but flavourless sauce. The chicken thighs were apparently good though. On balance I wouldn't rush back - there's too much competition out there. Having said that, lunch in Nando's in Greenwich last Autumn was good.Lastly, why do I have to queue and order my food at a counter? I can see the logic of ordering at the bar in a pub with limited staff but there was no shortage of staff to help at Nando's. Is it a gimmick or do they not trust me? If I had tried to do a 'runner' last night, my heartburn would have stopped me going too far.

i dont get Nandos, the food is alright, the choice is alright, you have to queue to order and the portion sizes are less than generous. eating in Nandos is just a lazy option when there are so many better independent places to eat in Southampton.

Really enjoyed our lunch in the group of 6 of us. We had plenty of tasty food to share around! The sauces are always great fun to try too. The staff were very friendly and weren't pushy at all, even when we didn't leave straight away. Nice atmosphere and a great addition to the recently renovated guildhall square. PS: Note that this restaurant is not on The Polygon road, it is in fact on Above Bar Street, 100m north up the road from sprinkles gelato. It's wrong on the map! This might explain why there are so few reviews!!

A nice addition to the guildhall square complex. A good sized restaurant, with quick service and as always good quality Nando's good. Will certainly be back!

Have been here a few since it has opened and always had a pleasant experience. Staff are friendly and clear tables quickly. Ultimately, you are paying for posh chicken and chips, and some items on the menu can be quite expensive.However, I have always received good food and service. The only downside is the main always come out before we have even finished the starter. This seems normal practice is most Nandos. We were offered to have the food taken back and brought out later ... but the thought of it sitting under a heat lamp was grim, and would affect the quality of the meal.Would return.

First visit to a Nando's - Chicken in a cold bun with chips cooked in rancid oil. But worst of all this restaurant is FREEZING cold - no heating - no atmosphere whatsoever Hopefully will not return

Warm and welcoming atmosphere however, we were left unexcited by the food. The food came out quickly. We were disappointed as both the chicken n chips were dry and went cold extremely quick. The company I was with made up for the lack of excitement.

I firstly visited as I got a staff discount (reading other reviews they had the same experience). I've heard so many people say great things about Nandos I was keen to try it when it opened nearby. We had a pleasant enough experience the first time and they gave us the promised discount (received via email at work). So I decided to take my husband back in late December but they would not honour the discount and it was all rather embarrassing. Hmmm ... probably won't go back as without the discount it was quite pricey.

I have been several times now with groups of people from work ( southampton city council) we had an email confirming that we receive staff discount and were given staff discount several times before. I personally find nandos expensive for what it is and would not have gone had i realised they would no longer accept my discount. There was only one till open despite staff standing around not looking busy. I had to wait a while to be served while the lady faffed about getting change for the customer in front who eventually asked her to just bring it to his table. I will not be returning and I'm sure work lunches will be happening elsewhere in future once my colleagues are aware that we no longer receive a discount at this particular nandos.

On my previous visit to this branch I had been offered discount for working for Southampton City Council by a member of staff. He had explained that there was not a code for the council but that he put it through as NHS. However, on this occasion the staff and manager refused to do same. Was embarrassing the amount of fuss made. Then Jessica forgot to put chips through, and also forgot to ask if I had a Nandos card. When I asked her to put points through she refused. I then insisted that she did so, she swiped card to indicate she had done so, but on checking my balance she has not done this - obviously was pretending. She was rude, sullen, unfriendly and unhelpful throughout - smirking a lot. When I ordered desert she was incapable of processing card payment on three occasions resulting in me needing to pay on a card that was not my chosen account. When I took this card to bank this morning there was nothing wrong with the pin so she obviously did something wrong. I have tried to add chilli to card using receipt but there is no code. So, not happy - no discount that was previously offered, no chillis, cocked up food order and rude staff. Why on earth would I want to come again???
