Nando's in Oxford

Hands down best nandos in Oxford, came for brunch with my mates and was greeted with a smile and outstanding service from start to finish! Definitely recommend.

Went for lunch , food arrived quickly and tasted really good, the chicken had a great grilled flavour to it and the garlic bread was perfect - service was really friendly too. Great experience overall

Nandos on the Cowley Road very well located for dinner before attending Cowley Road venues such as the Bullingdon and the O2 Academy. Typical Nandos with order at table facility using QR code from your Mobile. Worked very efficiently. Quite busy with a queue forming around 6-7pm.

Pathetic service. Waited 1 hour to be seated, and then waited another 1 hour for the food. Never coming back to this place again.

Been there many times, it’s halal as well which is great. Sometimes busy but great service and food.

Extremely poor service. Food was cold. One of our starters and side of chips were forgotten, never going back to this nando's again. Avoid and go to the city centre. They are far more concerned with getting takeaway orders out than actually serving diners.

We visit this restaurant on a regular bases but yesterday’s visit was exceptional. Excellent service led by Lolo who made us feel like VIPs . Lolo went above and beyond . A big shout out to Sana too, who looked after us well providing excellent customer service. A great team , food was on point . Overall an amazing experience.

Dreadful food hygiene and even worse service. Twenty minutes late today with my order and forty minutes previously. The new manager is clearly unable to manage the restaurant as the prior one had things under perfect control. The place is a mess now and kids are running all over the restaurant creating a health hazard with chairs turned upside down. The kitchen staff are constantly poking at food in boxes while not wearing gloves and all the while touching their nostrils and ears. They are not trained in food hygiene practices and run off their feet due to the poor management. Go to George Street instead. Even the customers this branch is attracting are dragging it down with their behaviour.

Waiter was rude giving false information about tables being booked. Manager did later come over n apologise Thought id try this place again as it looks like different staff but was still disappointed as waited over an hour to be served

Waited for over an hour, staff are slow and unbothered. Had to tell them to serve the food that had been waiting on the side for ages but ignored by waiting staff. Given the wrong food after waiting for so long and then the burger was cold and hard.

This definitely is the best Nando’s in Oxford. All of the staff is caring to provide an excellent service and are really friendly. This, unfortunately, does not occur at the other locations in the city.

Love it here, never had a bad time. Chicken is always so good. I would recommend this to anyoneeee. Staff always lovely and would recommend to family and friends.

Food was great as usual. Service was poor. Lady in hijab was extremely patronising and accused us of not paying for our food which is beyond outrageous as you have to order and pay before hand. Also my friend that came with us was her first time and didn’t know that small glasses was for water only and got Coke instead. Also she told us that bottomless drink can only be refilled once????She was told off as if she was a child by this particular staff member. She then came to our table and told us that she will be checking accounts to see if we paid which made us feel very low. I don’t usually write reviews but we left nandos today feeling as if we was belittled

Nice place to go for a date with your hubby, but wasn't really impressed with the cloudy, marked knife and fork, and cold wine served in a can. Both my husband and I had to ask for a glass. Maybe my standards are high, but I don't tend to drink cold wine from a can at home, so definitely didn't expect this on our romantic date night. Staff wee all polite, but just a little attention to detail is needed. Toilets clean and accessible.

I am a 56 year old oxford local resident. I have been eating Nando’s for the past 5 years. This Nando’s however has shocked me to my core. I am a grandmother who came with my grand kids, and was shocked and disgusted by the service I received from an employee named Anna. She was so rude and inconsiderate. With someone at a similar age I would have assumed she knew a shred of respect and professionalism, but she doesn’t. I will not be coming here again! On the other hand there was a young brilliant man, Isaac. Very helpful young man, I wish him the best. Nandos will not be seeing our money again!

The whole experience was awful one of the staff called Anna is very rude on multiple Occasions, as I am a local to Oxford, Isaac on the other hand is the best employee I’ve ever come across a Nando’s always with a smile on his face, always ready to help Anna on the other hand never takes my order right mid take my order stops and tell us another staff member to take my order.

Went out with my girlfriend as her second ever visit to Nando's, and saying it did not disappoint would be an understatement! Atmosphere was great with Afro-Portuguese music and staff were friendly too and great help. Special thanks to Juliet for being a great hostess and Jamie for helping with the drink dispenser!

This is a halal Nandos. Their service was great and food was delicious. We ordered a whole chicken with rice, peri fries and their new peri mac n cheese which passed in our books. Their chicken was done very well. Would be coming back as we are massive grilled chicken fans!

Sorry nothing against this particular Nando's - the employees were lovely. Nando's food is just trash. I won't be dining here again 😔

Been here a few times. One of the few halal Nandos around Oxford. Very busy every time we've been there. Good food

Last month we went to Oxford to eat at Nandos but One Guy he told us first that the table was not empty and there was a 20 minute wait We sat and waited for 7-8 minutes then he told us no more chicken. There were a few tables he could have quickly cleaned and given to us .I did not see any interest for customers .All the staff are working comfortably and there is no rush among them 😀Then we went out.by by not seeing again.

The chicken I ordered couldn't have tasted worse.

We were served politely at the till by Kassim, he was very kind and patient. Our food was brought over very quickly, within about 8-10 minutes. The food was fresh, hot, and well priced. The waiter, Xavier, provided good service and was very friendly to us. Will definitely come back!

This is the first time when I am disappointed with the Nandos. The venue is very run down, but it did not seem to be clean or inviting. Food was not to usual Nandos standard. Meat was not cooked enough, chips was not crispy. Would not go back again

Food is good but too expensive for a fast-food chain!

It is always a pleasant experience visiting the restaurant. The staff were friendly coupled with great service....my family and I had a wonderful meal. Thanks for the experience.

Absolutely horrendous food and service. I think nandos head office need to get a grip if they allow such atrocities to take place under their name. Flat cold food served! had to have items replaced. When complained to the waiter, he undermined my concerns with a dastardly look. I asked him to touch the food. He sarcastically replied, "I will." The garlic bread was literally heated in the microwave and bought back to the table. As we had travelled from leeds and had small children I didnt want to kick up a fuss. I spoke to the manager Sarah on shift at the time who was extremely unhelpful. Never again!!

Rude staff, they make thing's personal by being nasty to people they don't feel are attractive...or something? Really weird.

Great food and all halal. I really love their lemon and herbs chicken with spicy rice and coleslaw. Fresh and spicy plus a bit sour. However, I asked the breast, but the leg was come. Well, okay at least I have a good dinner in here.

We went on a busy Friday night with a bit of waiting but definitely worth it! We always love a good nando's! Their sweet potatoes are super delicious! All chicken is halal as well.

Went in for dinner with friends, our mains came around 30 mins apart and I was served old halloumi that Id seen on the counter since I ordered. However we spoke to the manager who tried to rectify the situation and gave us some beers to make up for the issues which was greatly appreciated, hence the 5 star :) Thanks

I’ve done my travels across the UK, and being a Nandos Fein it’s safe to say I’ve visited enough to feel disappointed by this one. Whilst the location and staff was great, something was off about the food. The taste and sauces didn’t hit home for me

A Turnaround Experience at Nando's Cowley Oxford - Thanks to Andre! I recently revisited Nando's Oxford, and I am delighted to share that my experience was significantly better this time around. I had previously encountered issues with the Chicken Liver dish being dry and burnt, but the exceptional service provided by Andre turned things around completely. Upon placing my order, I was fortunate enough to be served by Andre, who seemed genuinely committed to ensuring my meal met my expectations. I explained my previous disappointment with the dry and burnt chicken liver, and Andre assured me that he would personally oversee the preparation of my dish. True to his word, when my order arrived, I could immediately tell that things were different. The Chicken Liver dish was perfectly cooked – succulent, tender, and most importantly, not even a hint of burnt edges. The flavors were well-balanced, and the dish was exactly what I had hoped for during my previous visit. In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to Andre for his outstanding service and to Nando's Cowley Oxford for taking customer feedback seriously. My recent visit was a testament to the fact that a restaurant's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction can truly make a difference. This evening we had the pleasure of visiting Nando’s on Cowley Road in Oxford! From start to finish the service we received was first class, Kassim the manager is absolutely exceptional at his job, a genuinely lovely guy & made the evening so special for my wife, our 4 year old niece & myself! I’ve visited a lot of Nando’s in my lifetime but this was one of the best experiences, we were greeted with a smile, seated immediately, the food came out very quickly considering the restaurant was absolutely packed & it tasted great like Nando’s always does, but a huge difference from other Nando’s we’ve visited in the past was the service, it was faultless, Kassim was amazing & looked after us so well! If you have an employee or manager of the month system I would like to put forward Kassim as he’s a huge asset to Nando’s! Thank you for a wonderful evening, we will 100% visit again in the future!

Let’s be honest, we all know Nandos is good, but they have their days. They just need to work on consistency. Sometimes their food is a little burnt but I know I’m still gonna eat it anyway so can’t complain😭 If you don’t like Nandos, you probably just need to change your order because it’s so customisable. However, I really didn’t like their new garlic BBQ flavour, I would not recommend. When we walked in today, smoke was just filling the restaurant, it was kinda scary. However, we were seated immediately and the service was good so I’ll let it slide. Their prices though? Phew😮‍💨😮‍💨 inflation is real.

Food is great as always, scenic ambience, good location except there's no parking but its easily accessible as theres a bus stop 20 yards away.

Ordered online they took the money £75 vand no confirmation email to say its been ordered. Called and they said it happens sometimes and I may get the money back today or a couple of days. I will never ever ever order again. First and last time

Food was OK, food took ages to come

The food is great and tasty. The lighting and vibes are peaceful and cozy. The staff are friendly and help with any issues, only issue being the wait time for food otherwise its an amazing restaurant and I'd definitely go again

The manager qasim was the reason we come to this Nando’s.

An extremely disappointing visit. The restaurant was not busy and the service still took 10 minutes just to take my order. The order them took another 27 minutes to arrive, parts of that were slightly cold. Tried the new fully loaded chips that arrived slightly cold and without spring onions as they had run out. All in all not aa great experience this evening

Ordered food from here via Deliveroo. Deliveroo couldn't help so contacted the restaurant...owner couldn't help and said our missing item was definitely packed by herself so it must have been taken by the delivery driver! Delivery was also late by 45 minutes and portions are small given the price.

We went to this branch of Nando’s as an easy family lunch. 8 of us sitting with lots of vegetarian and food intolerance complexities. Everyone felt they had great choices and the food itself was delicious. Nice ambiance for a chain restaurant. Very homely and cosy. Staff were warm and helpful.

I loves the food, everything perfect. And the staff were kind.

Had to wait for an hour for our food while all the tables around us were getting their food at a normal speed. There were no knives at the cutlery station and it took about 20 mins to replace them. Toilets were also dirty. Luckily food was okay, but definitely not worth the wait.

Nando's is a franchise. So expect franchise prices. Just had cravings for Nando's all of a sudden, the food is ok generally. There are other gems similar to Nando's around Oxford.

Recommend! Firstly, I was a bit upset. There were not a lot of people, but I had to wait for my small order for around 20 minutes. BUT! The waiter came to apologize even before I complained and I was given a free snack! That is such a nice gesture. It helped me to wait for the food, which was AMAZING

It took over an hour to get food. It wasn’t even at the height of being busy. I suspect that trying to service Deliveroo drivers from this restaurant has significantly impacted their ability to deliver in restaurant. It seemed that take outs were prioritised. Seemed to have plenty of staff but they were all working at full tilt.

Never disappointed here - the staff service is second to none and the food is always 100%! Considering it is a busy site, the queues are managed really well

Love the food location and ambience

A standard Nando’s. I won’t go into the details about the food because it’s what you’d expect from a Nando’s! The only reason I’m not giving this place a 5 star is because the service is always super slow. I’ve sat there and watched my food sitting on the counter for 15-20 minutes previously, just waiting for someone to scoop on some Rainbow Slaw, and it frustrates me a bit. Another time, I waited almost 45 minutes and no one offered an apology. The waiting staff are friendly enough but the kitchen staff are rather inefficient from what I can see.

Food was good! And it was very busy when we went than usual but staff tried their best to be honest!

Unhygenic place. Tables are dirty always and toilets are dirty. Staff is always in rush, they wont let you enjoy your dinner. They want you to finish your food as fast as possibble and will start picking up your plates and cutlery, I found that gesture to be very rude and it spoiled my night.

A welcome find, cannot beat flame grilled chicken

Food is the usual fine dining exciting and staff are nice. The place itself is however quite shabby. Front door is boarded up, furniture is wobbly and the bathroom is not great either. Needs a refurb.

I always love a Nandos whilst 'on tour' but must give special mention to the front of house guy who was the epitome of courteous and polite despite being rushed off his feet. We had to wait for our table but he was genuinely sorry and made sure he apologised and got us a table asap. Be also made sure he clocked everyone leaving and said goodbye! Good spot

A bit run down grotty toilets need a complete refurbishment. Also, the front door glass was broken and boarded up. The whole place is a bit tired but I guess in keeping for the area.

This Nando’s in Cowley road is a little small compared to the one in west gate, city centre. It feels quite warm and stuffy inside. Food wise - it’s all the same! Tastes awesome and 100% recommend the halloumi and mushroom pita burger for all the vegetarian foodies! Tip: The garlic sauce is the best sauce with this burger.

I ordered online the food made me sick also you weren’t professional you sent the food without any sauces or napkins or spoons. Never get from you again… waste of money and health..

It's cold inside but the food and service are amazing. A breeze coming through, no heating on from what we could tell. Most tables in use. Would do takeaway but we won't eat in here again until the summer. Its very cold. But the food came out hot and steaming, very quickly and with a smile. The manager on service was organised helping the staff and sorting the take away and delivery bags. Eat fast, saying that the food is very tasty as always. Thanks guys
