Nando's in Oxford

Huge praise to the manager here ! There was a delay with our order because of a mishap in the kitchen, we didn’t complain and sat and waited. The manager came over to apologise for the delay (even though we didn’t complain) and offered us complimentary items while our order was being made. This is what great management should be like, he was aware of the issue, and before it can turn to a problem, resolved it and exceeded our expectations. Legendary service! Thank you!

Such amazing service the food came super quick and came to celebrate a birthday and the wonderful severs ,especially Sana, were so helpful and served the birthday cake whilst singing happy birthday. Overall the atmosphere is so lovely and food is great!

If it wasn't for the food, I would be giving a 1 star. The food was really good but the service was absolutely terrible. Me and my family went to Nandos for my mum's birthday to have a meal together. We sat down at our table, never got our menus. It was quite busy, so we understood service would be slow, so even though we were hungry, we were patient. We waited 15 minutes before we realised no one gave a damn about table service, so I had to go up and get it. It was like as soon as we sat down, we were forgotten about. No one came to our table except to bring our food. We got our meal but we never got glasses. Since our table was literally being neglected, I also had to get up and go get that. I stood by the till for a stupid amount of time, waiting to ask a member of staff for cups only to be ignored by said staff. Waiters walked past me multiple times, yet not one cared to come up to me. The experience was honestly humiliating. After a while, I finally managed to approach a waiter to ask for a glass we should've been given from the start. I'm so disappointed, I wouldn't come here again, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to as it really ruined our night.

No soy de los que se quejan en viaje, pero nunca he recibido comida de tan mala calidad de un Nando’s, especialmente uno en un lugar tan popular. Pedí algunos platos de entrada, una ensalada y un pollo mariposa. Olvidaron los extras que pagué en mi ensalada, sin mencionar que la ensalada estaba marchita y completamente no comestible. Evidentemente, la comida también estuvo sentada bajo la luz de calefacción durante un buen rato. Pedí la recogida y esperé media hora más de mi tiempo de recogida. Dejé de pie en la puerta y luego mostré un banco en los últimos 3 minutos de mi tiempo de espera. La cereza encima era un pelo en mis papas fritas. No míos ni de mis compañeros, lo cual fue bastante desagradable. Al llamar al restaurante para discutir este asunto, mis llamadas fueron ignoradas y no respondieron.

Extremely rude manager - made myself and my friends uncomfortable by speaking to us rudely and questioning if they had been out drinking before, when they hadn’t. The manager was very stand-offish with me when I simply told him that he made us uncomfortable. He also denied statements he had said, when my friends had heard things he had said to me. Completely ruined our mood/food on a Friday night, and we travelled from far.

The service was a complete joke - there were multiple inappropriate comments made by the manager Giovanni. He implied that we were drunk and that we had been drinking before. My friend asked why this comment was necessary and Giovanni said ‘I wasn’t talking to you’. It got to a point where he admitted he had done something wrong and tried to buy us off with free deserts. We felt this was even more inappropriate. We complained again to another worker. Giovanni came back again and offered us free desserts again after completely ruining the mood. The conversation ended with him walking away. Absolutely abysmal service.

First of all it was claimed on the website that all chicken meals where out of stock and then Manager Giovanni was very inconsiderate when making inappropriate comments to us three girls when ordering our food and drinks. ID was asked for and happily provided however this didn’t seem enough for Giovanni. He returned to our table questioning us and apologising for how he reacted and then refused to accept that he made an error. It has ruined the atmosphere of the night and I won’t be returning. Not very customer service focused very company focused

One of the ladies worker told it’s a 40 min wait.. the guy worker was gna clean the table for us she said no to him can’t sit on the other side they had plenty of free tables and the mash wasn’t even nice

I ordered to collect my food, but it was really busy in there and the food wasn't ready. However, during the wait, the employees were great in constantly updating me on how the food it going, and were generally very kind even if they would've been very tired from a late busy night. My order came 10 minutes late, but an employee called Lola was very apologetic and sincere that I couldn't complain. The atmosphere was great and the food is banging too. Keep it up 👊

Awful experience 8pm 4th nov 2025. Ordered food via the app in restaurant. Orders delivered 15 minutes apart. We asked to speak to the manager who was really unpleasant and pretended to be thick. Kept on asking ‘did you order together’ in unhelpful way. food was pretty cold and tasteless as well.

Was very disappointed with the food it was cold and need some flavour. The service was good, my brother complained that his food was cold and they offer to give him half chicken and it was well hot 😂. The atmosphere was good, will definitely go back once in the area

Qué horror. Estaba esperando bebidas durante siglos, así que nos quejamos y todavía no vinieron, así que tuvimos que quejarnos de nuevo! ¡Entonces mi vaso estaba sucio con comida pegada en el interior! La comida eran pequeñas porciones con un pelo en la pitta. No recomiendo en absoluto.

Soy cliente habitual de nandos Cowley , voy cada semana 2 - 3 veces a comer allí ya sea solo o con mi madre muchas veces , la comida es buena la mayoría de las veces , bonito restaurante siempre ocupado . Pero el problema de la máquina de hielo siempre no funciona que muy decepcionante.

I don’t often go to Nando’s but on occasions I do like it. This location is different though, its run really poorly with frequent arguments between the staff and the manager. The one star review is for the service I received on Friday the 4th October, The manager served us at the counter, he took my order 1/2 chicken with one side dish, he didn’t mention that i can get 2 side dishes for the same price, when i realised immediately after paying, I wanted to add second side to my order to which the manager replied; “it will cost me extra £3”. I challange him saying “shouldn’t I get 2 sides with my order for no extra“ he replied; ‘the order has been placed already and he cant edit it’ 😅 I might be a bit petty here but I also know when I get a terrible customer service, this definitely is one of the worst service I ever got in a “restaurant” Many thanks to this Store, hope you get your game straight soon.

Very delicious food and authentic atmosphere

An hour wait for food and small portions compared to other nandos with extremely slow service, it's getting even worse. Should employ more staff, have more cooking capacity and faster service to address the issues as it's getting extremely bad. Plus rude managers aren't very helpful.

From start to finish, everything runs seamlessly thanks to his attentiveness and friendly touch. Nando's might be a UK staple, but it’s his above-and-beyond service and kindness that keeps the family coming back. A true asset to Nando’s – big thank you to Omesh!

Waiter was rude giving false information about tables being booked. Manager did later come over n apologise Thought id try this place again as it looks like different staff but was still disappointed as waited over an hour to be served Tried again sept 2024 … nothings changed , under staffed and no sense of customers waiting, if your going to make people wait at-least let them have their drinks

Friendly and efficient staff. The manager in particular was excellent when it came to dealing with a loud mouthed and entitled customer by showing her out the door.

Had a really bad experience at this Nandos yesterday and have been many over two decades. This was not on par with their normal standard. In short, we were sat near a fire exit that was being used by customer and staff alike as a passway. The table should never have been put there. Talking to the Manager to remedy this did not help as just got rudeness back and actual aggression. Have never encountered rudeness at any Nandos over numerous visits, let alone this type of manager response. Poor and not child friendly at all. Seemed an inconvenience that we brought children to dine in.

Sorry to say I was pretty disappointed after all the hype and recommendations. Tried to get into Nando's Lemington Spa the night before but they stopped taking tables 2 full hours before closing. So I thought it must be amazing. But at this one it was confusing trying to get a seat, then our table was so wobbly we had to move. Our drink glasses were not brought to us (were we supposed to get them ourselves?) They didn't have diet Fanta even though it was listed on the menu, the corn was so overcooked (and dry) I didn't even eat it, and the wings were pretty bland. They were neither dry with a nice crisp skin, nor covered in sauce. The skin was just kind of mushy and they were not even as good as making them at home on the grill. I might try a different location because several people swore we had to eat here. I did appreciate the sink for washing off hands.

Excellent Nandos. Good service and the food was cooked to perfection. The restaurant was clean and spacious. Toilets were also clean.

Food came very quickly. The food was hot when it arrived. Great tasting too as always from Nando’s. We were visiting from out of town and we weren’t disappointed.

Went to Cowley’s road restaurant. Ordered Mushroom and Halloumi pita and garlic bread as a side. Pita was stale and mushroom was smelly. Garlic bread was burnt. Pathetic food without any exaggeration. Pity that I waited for 30 minutes for this pathetic food.

Continous cancelled orders & when asked for compensation, I was told it wouldn't be possible with no apology. This branch & Nando's customer service do not care about their customers, you express your frustration & they end the call or shift blame to another colleague in the branch. It's disgusting how this branch and company conduct themselves with such carelessness. 6 orders cancelled & I had to go into the store the other week to collect an order as it took so long to arrive & one of the supervisors who was a female with dark hair called "Alex" thought it was a good idea to argue with me.

If you go at peak times, prepare to wait. However, overall amazing service and great food

Best nandos I've had a long time. Chicken was beautiful and really nicely done. Moist and not dry at all. The team made my family feel very welcome with a lively 3 year can often be difficult. Special thanks to kassim who looked after us.

Very good vibe coming from this place. Helpful staff, all very considerate about allergies and so on. The platters were generous, and food was well done. Definitely coming back here when I'm here next.

Average. I liked the ordering process and the food was fresh and hot - but they forgot our drinks. Getting your own cutlery is something that doesn’t sit well with me. Won’t rush back.

We had an amazing service by Sana today. The food was delicious. It was busy but well managed. The ambiance was very pleasant. Thank you Team Cowley.

Unfortunately, this was a BAD experience all round! Tiny portions (the 'regular' hummus was no more than a heaped tablespoon, and the chicken portions were clearly from the runts of the litter ... ! Talking of chicken ... the butterfly breast came in a 'wild herb' marinade ... the ingredients list states that it includes "Herb (including Parsley)" ... I thought I might actually taste something unusual, or herbaceous even!? But NO! It was just heat with no flavour. What kind of wild herbs go into this Trade Descriptions Act-defying sauce Nandos?? Plus, the chicken was undercooked and one of us was sick later that evening. Nasty nasty nasty!! The only saving grace was the lemon and herb thighs, although they cooked have been on the burner for a little longer too ... bery disappointing and we'll not order from here again.

Have been visiting this particular nandos for some time now.. Always great service especially when Umeash is on duty. Hadnt seen him for some time in this restaurant, guessing managers get moved about. It's always a pleasure yo see him and be greeted by him, always a pleasure. He's doing a great job.

Food is fresh. High quality. Portions are small but I guess that’s a Nando’s thing. Price is quite expensive considering the portion size. There is not many parking on Cowley Road. Service was okay. Interior was modern and quirky. Restaurant inside and outside was clean and presentable.

Constant carnage outside with cars parked across the path of pedestrians forcing people to go into the main road. Litter from takeaways eaten in cars on the side streets. Deliveroo mopeds flying up and down alleyways going to and from the restaurant. Zero respect from nando's for the local community.

0/5 Went to the Cowley Rd branch Saturday night got there 20:00 joined a que a small party (4) and a couple was told that as soon as a table would be available we would be seated.. So we waited and waited and waited.. After 1.30 hours we were seated..I went up to make an order.. And was told that the whole Chickens were sold out then was offered a boneless platter..I said ok as we had waited such a long time and was very hungry.. Then was told that they didn't have that either... The manager had absolutely no people skills whatsoever and just did not care, I have never experienced this level of arrogant behavior before.. I was extremely angry that the staff did not tell us that they had no food left but made us wait possibly with the knowledge that stocks were depleted... The waiter took email address and said that the manager would call... No call...I went on to x and sent a message... No response.. Be weary of Cowley Road Nandos and the very incompetent manager and staff at this particular restaurant ( The pictures are from previous Nandos visits)

I went to dine in at Nando’s Cowley Road, they had no rice whatsoever and this is on a Sunday afternoon! The manager ‘Umesh’ was very rude telling me ‘so it’s not my fault, things run out in Tescos too’.. Anyway I switched to creamy mash and macho peas which arrived cold! The chicken was also cold. Worst experience in my 15 year Nando’s history. Umesh you were totally unprofessional and unhelpful, ruining our Nando’s experience!

A little crammed but good food, value and very fast service.

Great Food. Friendly customer service however if the tables are full you will have to wait 15mins for a free seat. I like how you can refill your drink as many times as you want. I personally recommend having the pito filla.

Truly the best Nandos I’ve had. Tender n meaty chicken, fat crispy fries, more choices of sauces and drinks. Enjoyed the ice peach rooibus tea. Waiters are prompt, very polite and attentive. They deserve better ratings - 4.5.

Travelled to Oxford for business work. Stopped at Nandoz for dinner. The location was on the main road. It was a converted pub into a restaurant. Not very visible unless you're from the local area. Parking is terrible, and many roads are one way system. Eventually, I went inside and was seated by staff. The atmosphere was busy. I went over to the counter and ordered my food. Staff was friendly. Food came within 20 minutes. It was hot & well presented. The staff were very nice and polite. I will go back if I'm in the area. It is halal for muslim community.

Hands down best nandos in Oxford, came for brunch with my mates and was greeted with a smile and outstanding service from start to finish! Definitely recommend.

I recently visited Nando's a couple of days ago. The customer service was top- notch, the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Nando's.

We ordered a Nandos takeaway from the cowley road restaurant. When we went to pick are food up at our allocated time and had to wait around 20 minutes due to the restaurant being busy. To apologise for the delay, Lolo offered us any extras to make up for the wait and he delivered - we got an extra whole chicken to take away! Massive thanks to Lolo for sorting us out!

Nandos on the Cowley Road very well located for dinner before attending Cowley Road venues such as the Bullingdon and the O2 Academy. Typical Nandos with order at table facility using QR code from your Mobile. Worked very efficiently. Quite busy with a queue forming around 6-7pm.

Went for lunch , food arrived quickly and tasted really good, the chicken had a great grilled flavour to it and the garlic bread was perfect - service was really friendly too. Great experience overall

Extremely poor service. Food was cold. One of our starters and side of chips were forgotten, never going back to this nando's again. Avoid and go to the city centre. They are far more concerned with getting takeaway orders out than actually serving diners.

We visit this restaurant on a regular bases but yesterday’s visit was exceptional. Excellent service led by Lolo who made us feel like VIPs . Lolo went above and beyond . A big shout out to Sana too, who looked after us well providing excellent customer service. A great team , food was on point . Overall an amazing experience.

Dreadful food hygiene and even worse service. Twenty minutes late today with my order and forty minutes previously. The new manager is clearly unable to manage the restaurant as the prior one had things under perfect control. The place is a mess now and kids are running all over the restaurant creating a health hazard with chairs turned upside down. The kitchen staff are constantly poking at food in boxes while not wearing gloves and all the while touching their nostrils and ears. They are not trained in food hygiene practices and run off their feet due to the poor management. Go to George Street instead. Even the customers this branch is attracting are dragging it down with their behaviour.

Waited for over an hour, staff are slow and unbothered. Had to tell them to serve the food that had been waiting on the side for ages but ignored by waiting staff. Given the wrong food after waiting for so long and then the burger was cold and hard.

This definitely is the best Nando’s in Oxford. All of the staff is caring to provide an excellent service and are really friendly. This, unfortunately, does not occur at the other locations in the city.

Very good service but staff kept bothering to be honest

Love it here, never had a bad time. Chicken is always so good. I would recommend this to anyoneeee. Staff always lovely and would recommend to family and friends.

Food was great as usual. Service was poor. Lady in hijab was extremely patronising and accused us of not paying for our food which is beyond outrageous as you have to order and pay before hand. Also my friend that came with us was her first time and didn’t know that small glasses was for water only and got Coke instead. Also she told us that bottomless drink can only be refilled once????She was told off as if she was a child by this particular staff member. She then came to our table and told us that she will be checking accounts to see if we paid which made us feel very low. I don’t usually write reviews but we left nandos today feeling as if we was belittled

Nice place to go for a date with your hubby, but wasn't really impressed with the cloudy, marked knife and fork, and cold wine served in a can. Both my husband and I had to ask for a glass. Maybe my standards are high, but I don't tend to drink cold wine from a can at home, so definitely didn't expect this on our romantic date night. Staff wee all polite, but just a little attention to detail is needed. Toilets clean and accessible.

The whole experience was awful one of the staff called Anna is very rude on multiple Occasions, as I am a local to Oxford, Isaac on the other hand is the best employee I’ve ever come across a Nando’s always with a smile on his face, always ready to help Anna on the other hand never takes my order right mid take my order stops and tell us another staff member to take my order.

I am a 56 year old oxford local resident. I have been eating Nando’s for the past 5 years. This Nando’s however has shocked me to my core. I am a grandmother who came with my grand kids, and was shocked and disgusted by the service I received from an employee named Anna. She was so rude and inconsiderate. With someone at a similar age I would have assumed she knew a shred of respect and professionalism, but she doesn’t. I will not be coming here again! On the other hand there was a young brilliant man, Isaac. Very helpful young man, I wish him the best. Nandos will not be seeing our money again!

Went out with my girlfriend as her second ever visit to Nando's, and saying it did not disappoint would be an understatement! Atmosphere was great with Afro-Portuguese music and staff were friendly too and great help. Special thanks to Juliet for being a great hostess and Jamie for helping with the drink dispenser!
