Xennan was fabulous and we loved them, they were so attentive and took such good care of us. Food was delicious, plenty of veggie options.

The brunch was great and the wait staff were very attentive. The booths could have been a bit cleaner, but it really didn't affect the overall experience.

Served my vegetarian friend a meat burger, which we did not realise until the table next to us got a beef burger and they looked the same so we questioned it but she had already eaten most of it before, wouldn’t go if you have allergies or dietary requirements

Taste overall 6.5/10, The big appetite set is not good 3/10, nachos set is good 8/10, Sausage is 6/10 a lil too salty for me, Cauliflower 8/10 pretty nice, main meal Beef burger overall 7/10: burger 6/10, fries(chips) 8.5/10, Brownie 6.5/10, Tiramisu 6/10, Cake of the day (passion fruit) 6/10; Portion with price 5/10; Service 2/10 super slow, the orders are messed up, tho we have 14 ppls, we preordered everything(except drinks) a week before. The garlic prawn that a few of us ordered wasn’t served because they dont have enough(again preordered already), the vanilla ice-cream that supposed to come with cake is also missing with the reason that they dont have them today (again, preordered); cleanness 6/10 bathroom is bad; vibe is not bad 8/10 and beer is good. It might be better if u just go and get food without preorder and a lot of ppl i guess. But they definitely can improve on service. The staff is not rude tho, just not efficient.

Had a lovely time at this place! The service is so attentive, my glass was barely half empty before they topped up my bottomless brunch prosecco😂. The food was very prompt and I was cutting a cake here for my bday and they noticed I didn't have a candle and gave me one and a lighter. The turkish eggs were delicious. The shakshuka was nice but could have been more flavourful. Another pt of improvement is maybe ensure the online menu is updated per the in house menu. Vibes are 10/10.

Great atmosphere and service. Delicious food. We stopped on our way home for a drink and decided to have a snack so ordered the humus platter. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity. Would thoroughly recommend.

Warm vibes throughout this cosy diner in the heart of Oxford. Reasonably priced menu, offering many options other than the typical English breakfast. The coffee is fantastic. And the person running the place, a friendly, jolly fellow.

Came here for a birthday brunch, and was left extremely disappointed. Customer service was shocking, As well as most of the food, in which contained buns, that you had run out of completely. Also ran out of multiple other things. It was 11:30 am, and was told they were out of various foods. Later found out they had ran out 4 days prior, with no notification to let us know we won’t be able to have certain things. I had booked many days before, they had Found zero solutions to make it better. Hot drinks were Luke warm. Toast was rock hard. Waiter didn’t seem to know what he was doing, as he took several of our orders wrong and missed out a few of our orders too. Put a damper on my day. Not impressed.

Good vibes - beautiful flat white, we had the Nutella pancakes and Spanish Shakshuka Baked Eggs and both meals were really good, if in Oxford again we will definitely visit!

My sister and I had the best cappuccino with almond milk ever at this place! It was so amazing that we ended up going back twice in the same day just to enjoy more of it. I’ve tried to recreate it at home, but I can’t seem to match the taste they achieve. The staff was incredibly friendly and the place was super cozy in general. I definitely didn't expect to find the best cup of coffee in England, but I can’t wait to come back to George Street Social in Oxford and have another one!

Met a new friend for brunch last week, this place is in a terrific location, upstairs had a great vibe, my choice of company was superb, and the food was excellent. Good quality ingredients, good portion size, very well presented. Our waitress service was balanced superbly, the perfect level of attentiveness, whilst remaining relaxed and not pushy. My friend (female) and I agreed that our delightful blonde haired server was totally, totally stunning which only added to our experience. Highly recommended.

This was the BEST meal I have had in Oxford. The staff is exceptionally nice. When my order was made wrong, the server brought it back and made it right without me having to ask. The prices are beyond reasonable. Highly recommend!

Really mixed bag with this place. Food was incredible but the service really wasn't up to scratch. Come here if you have all the time in the world and want some tasty food but I'm not sure if all the staff were having a bad day because our experience really didn't match the raving service reviews I read prior to booking. We waited at the door for a long time without being acknowledged by any of the staff walking past (a quick someone will be with you soon takes seconds even when busy!) Then it was a long wait to order and for the food to arrive. Also told that only certain meals could have add ons otherwise the chefs would get angry...thought this was a joke at first but it's certainly an interesting reason to not make some extra money from us that we were willing to pay! Had to go up to the bar to order more drinks as we were ignored at the table and again no acknowledgment for a while when stood at bar even a quick smile is better than nothing. We were asked if we were finished with the food but then our full drinks were cleared too?! Hope this was just an off day as it was pretty disappointing.

We stopped here for lunch when arriving in Oxford. I had the tagliatelle and my wife the sweet potato pasta. Our food was very tasty and our drinks were excellent.

Food was good and affordable. Shelves could use a good cleaning there was a lot of dust, etc. next to the table where we were eating. There was a vase with moldy flowers on the shelves next to our table as well.

Had a tasty lunch in what is an atmospheric and informal space. An ample selection is offered and we were delighted with what arrived. Staff were friendly even though quite busy. Quite pleased with this stop-off.

The place is a bit of a mess. Food is ok, but they struggle to explain or advise on the menu. We were constantly chased by 3 different waiters asking what do we want to order, even when we ordered everything. They messed up 2 orders out of 3. Guys, just slow down and put your energy to make service more accurate ;)

Good food and the great thing is that they allow dogs. They also gave a bowl of water for my dog. Highly appreciate that.

Below-average service: we asked for tap water twice and didn't receive any, yet there was a 12% service charge added. If you're going to include a service charge, at least provide tap water upon request. Additionally, the space was overcrowded with tables packed so tightly it felt like we were sitting with strangers. It was also extremely loud. I won't be returning here.

We visited late in the evening and our waiter was the most helpful and attentive to my unique allergy needs. The food was delicious, the environment was quaint, and the service was a delight.

What a great venue! Booked in for bottomless brunch on Sunday and we were very well looked after by the staff: it genuinely was bottomless because our glasses never ran out! They were back to top them up before we ever finished them, I was very impressed! The food was good too, came quickly even though it was very busy. There was also a live pianist - a great addition that really added to the atmosphere. Really impressed with the experience, would definitely recommend booking though as it gets very busy!

This bar looks like a little quirky café. In fact you can get coffee and cake there if you wish! There are other food options too ranging from breakfast to dinner and also snacks. Upon entering you soon see that there is more seating upstairs. The staff are cheerful and attentive, they have a good drink menu including beer, wine and cocktails which they will bring to your table. The Nachos are amazing, lots of topping (sour cream, chilli peppers, fresh tomato salsa and the guacamole is delicious). With live music every Thursday and Friday from 8pm, this is definitely a place to visit for a fab night out.

We had such a great brunch here, it was so reasonably priced and we were continually popped up with our bottomless drinking. A special thanks to Hennon because two of the girls chose beer and could only drink two of them, so he gave us takeaway cups for the third! Overall a great hen do brunch, my only tip would be to ask for the siracha sauce on the side if you go for the chicken waffle as there was a lot!

Friendly staff, delicious cake and a relaxed atmosphere. We were struggling to find anywhere open for afternoon tea in Oxford at 4 pm …GSS came to the rescue. We will be back for breakfast soon!

We had a fantastic time at a brunch today, a small hen party but a wonderful time. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Our glasses were never empty and the staff were super helpful and friendly. We received the best service, especially from Ala and Hannan. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. Poor service - cold food The couple behind us experienced the same problems and was told by the manager, there was nothing she could do - unbelievable!! There must have been 20 to 30 people turned away as they couldn’t cope - the restaurant was half full - hmmmmm

We chose this spot due to the late morning availability time frame and proximity to the bus station before our departure at Oxford and while the food was mediocre, the service was fine and it checked the box on the convenience factor. We tried different variations of the Eggs Benedict, from traditional to Florentine (spinach) to Salmon, and they were all well presented but underwhelming in terms of flavor. Our server was humorous (or at least he thought so!) and was engaged and helpful throughout our meal.

Funny and kind gentleman served us (owner?). I ordered eggs Florentine snd wanted to love it, but the sourdough was so tough I couldn’t even cut it with a steak knife. The gentleman said it’s homemade. I don’t know what to say about this, other than I would pass on the bread. The eggs and sauce were lukewarm, but ok. He accommodated a fruit bowl request (off menu) for my kid. I appreciated that, although some of the berries were mushy. I don’t think I’d return.

Only stopped for some after Theatre cocktails. Lovely staff and a nice chilled atmosphere. It was fairly quiet but it was midweek late afternoon, would definitely return.

Busy brunch focused restaurant. The food is tasty and generous and a real plus. Atmosphere wise it's busy, especially on Saturday morning. Service was good but it's noticeable that tables are busy (1h limit) and staff are rushing from place to place (and the set up is very crowded). Worth booking ahead (though there's a fee that comes with the booking). It's not a very personalised experience but it is good food.

Visited on a late Saturday morning for brunch with friends. We didn’t book so had to wait for a table but that wasn’t a problem. The coffee was lovely but my bacon pancakes were pretty average, I would get them again. The fruit pancakes looked better but overall they weren’t fluffy like I was expecting.

Had breakfast here: best coffee in town and very nice pancakes. Good atmosphere and waiters who are friendly and notice everything.

The staff is so sweet. He tops up with extra milk to fill the coffee as ice cubes have removed.☕️🤍

We had the best drink after visiting the theatre, Andreas was our host and he was wonderful. He took excellent care of our every need, including bringing our 5 year old colouring things, as well as with entertaining chat without being overbearing. I would say this is one of the best central Oxford hang outs for any situation.

Liked service, but that's it. Dirty toilets, moulds and spider webs in the corners. Makaroni cheese was too oily, eggs benedict bread was too tough to cut with knive, eat with hands too messy.

Came here with my partner and her friend to try out the food. First time of me ordering macaroni and cheese and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered a side portion of chips as well and they tasted great. As always if there is apple juice on the menu, I will get me some apple juice. Overall, it was a smooth experience and the atmosphere was great too.

We had our office Christmas party bottomless brunch there yesterday. What a fabulous day. The food and service were second to none and our glasses were topped up as soon as we had taken a few sips. The lovely manager was charm and sweetness herself. If I could give it ten stars I would. And excellent value for money too. Will defo be booking for next year

Mediocre food and service! Ordered the vegetable shakshuka and they said they wouldn't be able to do the eggs soft. I was told it's going to be hard-cooked but they tried and got it mostly cooked but not too hard. The taste itself wasn't great! My friend's pancakes portion size seemed way too small but the berries were tasty. Chicken and Waffles were also just alright - not bad not great! Will skip this place and go back to Oxford brunch bar next time!

Great brunch! I had vegetarian shakshuka, which was so good with a big portion. Recommended to book in advance if you would like to have a brunch on weekend.

Friendly staff with good diner-type menu but with variety to cover meals and snacks at all times of day. We did have a certain delay on simple order but the standard ofcservice is such that they apologised profusely even without my mentioning it.

The atmosphere was quite loud but I didn't mind it as a whole. We ordered the Berry american pancakes and eggs benedict, my pancakes were very flat and I couldn't tell if they were store bought or not to be honest, you could could get fluffier pancakes from sainsburys... It tasted alright but not amazing and wasn't warm. The benedict was nicer but again not much to it to be honest. We also got a cappuccino and a latte both of which were really tasty, I would recommend the coffee here however wish I could say the same for the food.

Overall the food was average. I've had better and I've had worse. The sourdough was nice and the eggs were cooked well. The avocado was nice and zesty however a bit pricey at £3. The so called ham hock was just some supermarket ham rolled up and stuck in top. As for the pancakes they were quite stale and not very enjoyable as they were very flat. The portions were a little small which was a bit underwhelming. The coffee was much nicer (latte and cappuccino) however only a little warmer than lukewarm so it had to be drunk hastily. The servers were nice and did well to accommodate us even in busy conditions, and the atmosphere was loud but enjoyable. Overall I would avoid brunch, and maybe try out the lunch menu. The service is nice so you will feel accommodated too.

George Street Social has a lovely atmosphere, and is well staffed. I had a great chai latte and they didn’t charge for plant based milk. However, I went there for brunch and the food itself was disappointing. I had the Vegetable Shakshuka and unfortunately it was super bland. It was a tomato base, with peppers, onions, aubergine, eggs and goats cheese. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was no seasoning in the entire dish because the only flavors were overpowering tomato and goats cheese. The aubergine was cut in large chunks and was bitter. The eggs on top were overcooked and dry. I can’t speak for the rest of the menu but based on this meal I won’t be going back.

Happened upon this gem when visiting Oxford and felt like a lazy brunch. The interior is nicely decorated - quirky/bohemian and spacious while still managing to be very intimate, warm and welcoming. Of course this was helped by the lovely staff. Both the manager receiving us and our waitress were very welcoming and personable. The food we ordered was amazing. The Vegetable Shakshura (happiness on a plate) and a Baba Ganoush/Hoummus anti-pasti sharing platter were both nothing short of superb. The only gripe I have was that we both got full before being able to finish it all. Hope to visit soon again when I am back and couldn't recommend it more.
