Nandine in Southwark

I keep coming back to Nandine’s and every time it’s incredible. Every dish is beautifully prepared and full of flavour, cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are always very friendly. This might just be my favourite place to eat… ever.

Very nice food perfectly served

The dessert was excellent, but the lamb stew with naan was hit or miss. The naan, when immersed in the hot stew, became soggy and disintegrated, blending too much into the dish. As a result, it turned mushy and lost its texture, becoming more of a part of the stew than a complement to it.

OUTSTANDING FOOD and very friendly and polite staff. We had never had kurdish food before and what an introduction to these cuisine this was! The lamb tripe was my personal favourite so rich and delicious and the Kubba were so flavourful we went for the meat version, delicious inside and crispy outside with a little spicy sauce on the side. Simply amazing we will be back for sure!

This was my second visit to Nandine, and I wanted to give it another try before sharing my thoughts. Overall, the experience was satisfactory, though not without its shortcomings. While much of the meal was enjoyable (Kubba, Pickles), the chicken shish was disappointing—overcooked, lacking in seasoning, and not great value at £20 for two modest skewers. Additionally, the presentation could be improved, as several items were served in impractically small bowls. I understand that Jay Rayner, in his review for The Guardian, described Nandine as "knocking out huge plates of big-flavoured Kurdish food at the sort of prices that restore your faith not just in eating out, but quite possibly in humanity in general." However, my experience did not align with this perspective. The portion sizes felt modest, and the pricing did not reflect the value I expected. For those seeking quality charcoal-grilled meats at a comparable price, I would recommend FM Mangal just across the road.

All the food was fab - the aubergine platter was so tasty, the bread was so soft and the lamb kebab was tender and flavourful. Great desserts as well! Staff were friendly and it had a nice vibe even on a Sunday night.

The chicken shish was fantastic - great spices and juices that soaked into the pitta bread beneath with plenty of salad. The rice was disappointing with a pie crust that didn’t add much. Dumplings were lovely with a delicious sauce. Sadly Nadine charged extra for more sauce despite not telling us when we requested more. Cost a star. Per head £25 which wasn’t the best value for money all considered for 3 dishes.

I recently dined at this restaurant, and it's intriguing to see a fresh take on Kurdish cuisine. While the innovative flavors captivated my palate, I found the portions surprisingly small for the high prices. The Qazwan Baklava stole the show, though – a must-try! The cozy ambiance adds to the experience, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

One of the best restaurants in London, cannot recommend highly enough.

Although the food tastes very good & is authentic, the portion of courgette was way too small.

This USED to be a reasonable cheap place to eat but has turned into an overpriced stingy small plate rip off. £6 for a small portion of fries, and my Lula kebab was missing meat on the underside of the plate. Plus the kitchen staff were using foul obnoxious language when I walked past to use the bathroom. Really won’t be going back in a hurry

I born and breed in Middle East, so I tried thousands different types of Kebabs and Kebab restaurants. I can confidently say that was one of the best kabab I ever had. Everything was so delicious and the service was exceptional. Differently will come back again

Quality has gone down, kebab is twice the price of other Kurdish restaurants (who make it better, with naan not flatbread)

Nice, small, intimate place. Very good for a date or dinner with friends. Food is really good, make sure you try many different things. Reservation available via Google maps. Very convenient.

Really accommodating for the party size we booked for and allergies. Food was absolutely delicious, beautifully seasoned. Staff were really accommodating throughout.

1st Time here we got the the Brunch Menu. Food and service was excellent. The Kofta was incredibly tasty with a crispness to it and the special baklava was delicious. We will definitely come again. Thank You!

Simply too expensive for what it is providing. The grilled chicken was lovely, but far from 22 quid they asked for, especially when served upon a rather basic bread. Also had the chips with a sauce that lacked any nuance. Ambience lackluster as well - trying to stack as many tables as possible with the bathroom sadly located near the kitchen. Simply too greedy.

What a lovely surprise in Camberwell Chirch Street. We came here to celebrate a birthday and the food did not disappoint. I decided to choose from the grill menu and had the lamb, which was well spiced. I was hoping to get a bit more salad, but otherwise, it was delicious. The only thing I would say is that the menu is written in a very small font. We had to take a picture of the menu to zoom in to read as pictured. The staff were attentive.

Went for brunch on the weekend, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Nicely presented food, the flavour was pretty good, the bread was soft like a pillow. Portion is on the smaller side but enough to fill me up. It’s my first time trying Kurdish food. Many vegetarian options which is a big bonus.

Food was great. Particularly loved the slow cooked lamb, so tender.

honestly, some of the best food in camberwell! they have a wonderful selection of vegan and gluten free options that are clearly labeled on the menu. the mocktails are exceptional, the tea selection is divine, the ambiance is impeccable and the staff are delightful. cannot recommend nandines enough!

The first time I came with friends and was blown away by the food! I knew my mum would love it as well so I took her tonight and once again Nandine did not disappoint! Rosie was the only waitress working tonight but still managed to give incredible service to a fully booked floor! 100% would recommend and will keep coming back! Thank you so much :)

Don’t visit this restaurant unless you e got a small stomach and a large wallet

Had a great meal here! We had the fries, the Kurdish dumplings and the cauliflower for starters and we loved them all! They have some options with vegan meat which is a nice touch. The chicken was very good, so were the dessert but the small plates were the real surprise. Will definitely come back to try more! The service was very friendly and knowledgeable.

It is no wonder that Nandine is in the London top 50 every year, this place is a marvel! Everyone I've recommended this place to has gotten back to me with blissful eyes and happy bellies. It is a beautiful representation of indigenous Kurdish culture and the creativity that is to be found therein.

We went to Nadine for brunch to celebrate our son"s wedding. The food was absolutely delicious. We had all vegetarian dishes and the range of was great. Service was very attentive and the bride and groom even had a complimentary dessert.

I have been looking forward to eating here and it was well worth the wait. The food is delicious, packed full of layers of flavour with seasonings and spices that are subtle and potent in equal measure. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly without being intrusive. The atmosphere was buzzing with everyone clearly having a great time. We ordered a lot and enjoyed every single plate. What a refreshing surprise to end with a super reasonable bill for such high quality, spectacular, authentic food. I have already booked to return.

The most delicious Kurdish food in South London. Every visit has been a delight, I’ve brought family and different friends for birthdays and occasions and every dish on the menu brings fantastic flavour - you can tell the food is made with love!!

Probably one of the best meals I have ever had!! Such rich depth of flavour and interesting taste combinations made for a delicious meal. Every single dish was stunning, but special mention for the baclava dessert - wow!! Service was excellent. We even met the owner (who still works in the kitchen) and her husband who hosts. Try it, you won’t regret it.

From the mocktails/cocktails, the service and the food quality - I would highly recommend! Favourite drinks: Cucumber Margarita and Sharezoor Rum Punch (presentation is beautiful). One of the few remaining trusted staples of SE London. As more and more solid local spots continue to close post Covid, I really hope this one never goes anywhere. The menu is small but inventive and best experienced ordering a bunch of plates to share. This time we tried the cocktails too which were fun and just the right amount of potent. Been wanting to try this for a while. What a great place. Food was lovely - some dishes I've never seen before. Varied menu (I'm not vegetarian but loads of options for those who are) and no fuss about my nut allergy. Drinks menu equally interesting with Kurdish twist on some classics and reasonably priced wines. Staff were lovely too. Will definitely become a regular here!

Incredible food, really fresh, tasty and beautiful. They have reinvented cauliflower for me! Absolutely top quality, and amazing twists on some classic cocktails. Service and decor was also outstanding. I can't believe I have cycled past this place so many times and not gone in. Definitely worth a stop.

This place is so so so delicious. Had dinner here with my partner and ordered 7 dishes, but probably could have done with 6. The fermented yoghurt in oil (can’t remember the name) was insane. The eggplant was some of the best I’ve ever had. Four thumbs up

Nothing special: wild pistachio oil was not existent. Small plates didn’t impress. Liked the seabass. I was looking forward to trying out Nandine but service was so poor, we couldn’t even try some dishes because they came at the same time as dessert. Asked for a second glass of wine that came 20 minutes later. Asked for bread urgently since fish bone got stuck, the bread came with the bill!

Really really enjoyed dining at Nandine’s and it was a pleasure to see Kurdish food well enjoyed by many. The kuba tasted just like my mum’s 👌🏼the dolma had a nice take on it with added chilli and the gipa wasn’t as expected but appreciated its own take on this meal. The lamb shoulder ended up being too tough so the team replaced this with the star of the show - the kebab. The best kebab I’ve had in a long long time 👌🏼 The baklava and cucumber margarita was so good too. I really want to come back for the breakfast!

Visited saturday night for 1st time and absolutely loved it - food was authentic, super flavoursome and a huge choice available. Service was prompt and courteous, Nandine does all the basic stuff really well, final bill was very sensible too. Top marks, will definitely be returning

The most amazing food and incredible service. I was really looking forward to trying this place out and it did not disappoint. With many vegan and gluten free options it was so hard to choose. The aubergine platter was a favourite. The vibe inside was too good and not to mention the incredible helpful 2 waitresses running a full restaurant on their own! Food is good, environment is pleasant, and staff is nice. However, I think food is overpriced and portions are often too small. If you are ok with spending 50 pounds for some small plates and drinks in Camberwell it is fine, but I am not.

I love Nandine on Camberwell Church street, they just seem to be doing everything right! Food is next level delicious, you can really tell they are very meticulous in the kitchen, and service and ambience are warm and welcoming. Such a pleasure to keep going back.

Atmosphere is super cool, customer set was good and food was delicious. We had lamb kebab, Bharat fries, shepherd salad and aubergine platers all was good and I liked the fact the the menu is Kurdish with modern twist.

Surely this is one of the best restaurants in London? Everything coming out of the kitchen was en-pointe regarding seasoning, balance, flavour, and execution. This extends to the bar pushing out original and imaginative cocktails, with attentive yet unobtrusive floor staff perfecting the experience. Yes, yes, yes!

We went for dinner here and absolutely loved everything! The staff were attentive but not so much that you felt rushed and the food was incredible, especially for vegans! Our favourite dishes were the aubergine platter and biryani, but everything we had was fantastic. Also the cucumber margarita was delicious! Can’t wait to return to try more things!

Little insider tip! Very tasty food and great ambience. But the service in particular stands out positively! Such friendly service and therefore the warm time - that was something very special for us.

We came here spontaneously for dinner and although the place was pretty busy our lovely server did her best to accommodate us (we were 2 people). You order a few small dishes pp which are meant to be shared from a wide selection of kurdish specialties. Everything we ordered arrived swiftly and was absolutely delicious. I especially recommend the aubergine platter and kurdish rice dumplings! So good!

Fantastic Kurdish food on the menu at Nandine. There is a real depth to the selection which will surprise and delight you in equal measure, without breaking the bank. The Lula kebab came with a perfectly barbequed outer, and then mellow, spiced and deliciously tender insides. Honestly one of the finest lamb and mutton dishes I've had anywhere. The salads were full of flavour, with punches of pomegranate and spice. We demolished everything put in front of us and highly recommend you visit.
