Reasonably good take away. Usually have to wait in excess of an hour for delivery. Online system does not allow to place pre order, which seems to mean exceptionally busy when they open. Food decent (could be hotter, temperature wise). Staff are helpful.

Just finished my delivered takeaway, and it was great ! So nice that I called them up to say so - the portions are very generous, everything beautifully cooked....and the driver was a really lovely guy - I think that's part of the experience, having someone who's easygoing, and who makes you feel that you're more than just another customer..... excellent!👍

This was the worst experience of an Indian takeaway ever in my life, the curry was like purée , so much sugar in it, and the poppadom we ordered and charged for wasn’t in the bag, I called up and they said they would return the money but they didn’t , £50 for this and our children couldn’t even eat theirs, absolutely gutted as this was our first night of our holiday , totally ripped off!

We ordered a takeaway from this establishment which was absolutely awful. It took over an hour to arrive and when it did the chicken tikka Dhansak was very runny almost soup like with undercooked chicken floating around the surface. Part of our order was missing in which we called to inquire where we were promised that the remainder was in its way however it never turned up. An absolute waste of £50, I highly recommend everyone to stay clear. Disappointing.

This takeaway is very inconsistent. I have had some very nice meals from this place before however not every time and recently they seem to be getting worse. All dishes taste the same, potatoes are undercooked and the amount of oil present in all of the dishes is frankly quite disturbing. There’s clearly no effort being put in when cooking the dishes.

Just had takeaway delivery absolutely awful,chicken not cooked nor was onion bajee, poppadoms soft tasted damp,and rice in clumps,will never use this restaurant again,£22.00 wasted

Friendly people and delicious lamb biryani, meat is not gamey at all. My friend had a set meal and they gave a generous portion. Authentic taste, a good find on the island !

We always order from here and love it but not what we had tonight. We ordered a korma and a korma sauce on its own and the 2 were totally different, the sauce on its own tasted off. To add to this both of our naan breads were burnt and inedible. I have emailed the restaurant as I didn’t feel my order was worth the money I paid.

Ordered online took an HOUR and a HALF to arrive. (I live a two minute drive away) Parts of the order where only just warm. The rice was soggy and the korma spicy (you don’t order a korma for spice). It did pass as an Indian but for £40 it was definitely not worth the money.

My partners family and I visit Nebab fairly often and they always give quality service with quality food! The best part is, as a vegan they are always happy to make something up for me and its never too much trouble for them and always tastes fantastic! Would definitely recommend!

Our food was very runny, flavourless, so sweet it was more like pudding and really disappointing, even mushroom rice and special rice was flavourless. Definitely will not be back to this takeaway.

Ordered takeaway by phone on a Wednesday and collected by yourselves gets you a good discount. Had one of the best biryani I have had for a while. Other family members enjoyed their meals.

Delivery order late and inaccurate. Food suspiciously day-glo coloured. Fabulous tarka dhal made on request however, and the naans lovely and fluffy. Stick to veggie options for best results.

My husband and I ordered roughly £32 worth of various dishes to be delivered to us in east cowes, as advertised. When it finally arrived it was 40 mins later than the 30 mins I was told it would take when I ordered. It was also stone cold as it was delivered to a random house up the road, the only reason I got it at all is the kindness of the lady whom it was actually delivered to. Now onto the food, the dishes that came were completely unrecognisable as the food I ordered and all of the dishes were sweet, it all tasted like it had been covered in sugar, even the rice was sweet! Neither my husband nor I we're able to eat it.

Take away order for 8 people vegetarian meals given instead of chicken garlic was missing off the naans rang to rectify at 21.45 claimed to be closed plus pricing different to their website 😡😡

i love nababs, every dish has a unique taste, nice and spicy too. i recommend the lamb dishes you can really taste the meat.

Excellent as always. I've never had a bad meal here, the service is great too. When I arrive to collect the food I'm always surprised with how quickly it's been made. The times we have it delivered, the wait has never been a long one. The food is consistently excellent. Can't fault it!!

Food good with sizable portions. Service speed excellent with meal for 6 taking only 15 minutes. Labelling of food could be improved as we did get mixed up and with different dietary concerns does cause issues and arguments. Un-happy about paying for steamed rice that was missing, which is why I am giving it 3 stars.

Had a take away earlier in the week. Ordered by phone, told up to 90 minute wait. Food arrived piping hot after an hour. I could not fault the meal at all. One of the best Indian take away meals we've had in years. Our local Indian take away needs to visit the Nabab to get some tips on food quality and customer service! We will definitely be ordering again.

I have used this Indian take away several times before and found it's below average to average,Imagine my delight and surprise when I ordered a meal this week-end and it turned out to be well above my expectations It was really delicious, I'm the sort of person that will complain If things go wrong, but there again I have no problem in giving praise when things go right so I rang them to let them know how much I enjoyed the meal and enquired had they got a new chef which they said they had.Well done and thumbs up to the new chef A real improvement keep it up.

Quality of the food has dropped considerably. Tandoori chicken dish brought recently was a joke. Quantity of curry dishes is half of what it used to be. Sad to see such a good takeaway go down.

We ordered food tonight via just eat, Nabab phoned us to say they were only delivering to their area but a manager phoned us back to say they would now deliver to us. 2 hours later food still hasn't turned up yet they put our order down as delivered. We phoned just eat who then phoned Nabab and had no answer so they phoned the owner who apparently said they're actually closed today but hadn't told just eat or even stated this to us on the phone. Our son went to bed very late after waiting and is very upset. So glad we paid via card and got our money back. We will never recommend this restaurant to anyone unless they want to waste they're money on nothing

You really can't call this an Indian meal! The food does not taste as though any spices or garlic have been added. Add to this the fact that I ordered chicken and beef was sent just added insult to injury. Save your money and buy one from the supermarket which will probably be better.

The prices shown on the website are not correct. I was charged around £5 more than the advertised price because apparently there is a new menu and the website hasn’t been updated. The food is also very disappointing, doesn’t have much flavour and is a small portion. Really disappointing and will never use it again.

Been a regular for many years however recently the standards have been dropping. Our last meal the food was OK - that is the food that we got, missing a meal for one of our friends, staff very, very unhelpful and had an attitude towards us. Went away extremely disappointed. They will never get mine or any friends / family's custom again.

Lovely food, reasonably priced and a lot of it, had an issue with the large bottle of drink we ordered and didn't receive, no refund was offered. Also ordered a chutney tray for £1.50 and received two pots half filled with dips, thought you would have gotten more than that. Will order again but will check the order at the door before the driver leaves .

Pedí el Cordero Rogan, pedí bastante picante y fue 100% el mejor curry que he comido. . Tanto así que mi novio y yo volvimos a nabab en nuestra última noche en la isla para conseguir el mismo curry. Les dijimos cómo nos encantó la primera, y como agradecimiento nos dieron un montón de cebolla bhajis! También debo comentan que el precio es muy bueno en comparación con lo que estamos acostumbrados.

Order online by hurgry horse arrived in the time slot that we picked. It was lovely nice spicy just how we like it. Plenty of food and taste can wait to get my order in for next weekend. Hopefully

Pedimos utilizar su servicio en línea que es conveniente sin embargo después a sólo 1 horas y media de espera tenía que buscara comida y me dijeron que aún así tuvimos que esperar unos 15 minutos. Eso es casi 2 esperar horas.! La comida no era agradable y la mayoría de hacía frío en el momento de la llegada. Me dieron algunos poppadoms pero no chutneys. pérdida de dinero, que es una pena, ya que me recordaba bastante bueno hace un tiempo!

As mentioned in other reviews, the home delivery is a disgrace. I placed an order using their online home delivery order system and waited over an hour for my takeaway to not arrive, after calling the Nebab to find how long it would be I was rudely informed that my order would NOT be arriving as it has be cancelled due to not meeting the required £20 limit, my order being £3.00 short. Nowhere is this stated on their website and had I received a phone call I would have simply made my order up to the required amount.

Whilst staying on the isle of wight recently we took advantage of the online ordering service that Nabab uses. It was a disgrace, we had to chase them by phone as the food didn't arrive when arranged, the driver was sent to somewhere at least 2 miles away even though we gave an accurate postcode. In the end we met the driver on the main Newport to East Cowes road to collect the food, 1 1/2 hours after original time. Food itself after re heating was excellent and could not be faulted.Please get you delivery service sorted

We ordered a take out, we hadnt had an indian for ages, we thought we would try somewhere different.Biggest mistake,dont order food from here. They didnt get our order right was so disappointed when we got home and discovered this. Overpriced.

We ordered on just eat and it took a bit long to arrive. But when it did it was all very got and we had a freebie. We all enjoyed the food and would order again.

Recently I ordered a takeaway and I was so disappointed I won't be ordering another. Two of our items were missing and the main meal wasn't the one I wanted, when I phoned to complain I was told it was the correct meal and the ''chef must have put too much coconut in''. There was no mention of coconut in the meal description on the takeaway menu, it was suppose to be almonds and cashews. I'm not sure when almonds started tasting like coconuts. We also asked for ''hot'' and but it wasn't even mild. VERY disappointed because I've eaten in the restaurant before and couldn't fault it. I won't be from now on!

Just had a take away meal which can only be described as the worse meal ever had. Do not use this take away as the quality is far below the standard required. Don't waste your money.

If you dont mind paying £3.60 for a lime cordial and tap water then this maybe the place for you. To top this the food is produced en mass and reheated in a microwave. Arrogant owners who only stay in business due to lack of decent competition.Also its not nice to see the waiter snogging his girlfriend whilst people eat. Avoid at all costs.

I bought a voucher from The Price is Wight for a take away at Nabad Indian Newport Isle of Wight. I ordered a Lamb Madras Pilau Rice and a Peshwari Nan. I am very surprised at some of the reviews as the food was excellent.

We had just 45 minutes to get a bite to eat and thought that we would just order some appetizers for a quick meal. We told the first person to come to the table what we wanted to order but the order was not taken, The third person to come to the table finally took our order but then stated that we could not just order appetizers and had to order at least one entree (this was not stated anywhere on the menu). We explained our rush dilemma but he did not care so we said we would leave and go elsewhere. He came back a few minutes later and said that it was OK. We continued to wait 30 minutes for our appetizers and were told once "they are coming in a few minutes". With only a few minutes to go I went to the counter to pay and asked for the order to be packed for take out since we were out of time, I was asked what time my bus was, I said "8 Minutes" he replied, "your food will be ready in 10 minutes". We walked out with no food! These were the rudest people I have met in a long time!

We decided to have a curry takeaway whist on holiday for 2 weeks why we were staying at shorewell. Our order was onion baji chicken korma chicken tika Marsala, chicken jalrazi. One plain rice. The korma was really runny and had no texture to it and wasn't great. I would rate this 5 out of 10. Chicken Marsala was to lumpy and wasnt that nice to be honest. 4 out of 10. Almost unbeatable. Jalrazi was ok on flavours but not to my standard. 6 out of 10. Rice a bit over done. Overal I would give the place a 6 out of 10. We had ours as a takeaway. Service was ok and decor of resturant looked nice. Would I go back ? No try somewhere else we will next time.

My husband and I went on a rare meal out together whilst on holiday on the Isle of Wight we chose the Nabab as it had good reviews and rating. We were seated and order taken straight away the service was very good and waiting staff very friendly, we had onion bhaji's and a Bengal omelette to start both of which were lovely although were only warm and it was a little bit of a wait before we had our starter. The main came out quickly we had chicken korma, garlic chicken fried rice, keema naan and chips all of which were very nice. This is the first Indian I have had where I have liked every part of it it was very tasty, highly recommended and would definitely eat here again.

Vert good food, even by mainland standards, friendly staff and pretty good value. Five of us ate and all loved it. I eat indian at least once a week so I know a good'un!

I know that isn't saying a great deal considering the size of the Isle of Wight, but this really was one of the best Indian dining experiences I've ever had. The waiters were friendly enough, the prices were reasonable (especially being a place where you can bring your own booze) and the food was consistently great.All the starters we had (a medley of bhajis and meat) were excellent, and that standard didn't fall when the mains arrived either; in fact, they actually raised the bar, delivering what remains to this day the best Chicken Tikka Massala I have ever had (it comes with easy recommendation). The other dishes (vegetable curry, chicken curry, and a prawn dish) were also lovely (rich, great use of herbs and spices). The only thing I can really fault about my visit is that the tables are slightly cramped. Apart from that, there was nothing to hinder it being one of the best Indian meals I've ever had.

I love curry and have been using the Nabab for 18 years, ever since I moved to Newport. I always find the service excellent and the food lovely. I have been to other restaurants locally but always prefer the Nabab. That said, every so often there is a change of chef and that can make a difference to the taste of the dishes. However, on the couple of occasions when I have not liked something it has been quickly replaced.I find the food tasty and authentic. I have been to India a few times (not beach) and gone off the beaten track where I have had Thalis for 30 rupees, and the Nabab food is just as delicious as all the food I had in India. Cheap-ish, cheerful and VFM I would recommend the Nabab to any of my friends.

With its sister outlet just up the street, you've got great take-out/fast curry or a thoroughly enjoyable curry night out

Weve been to this place more than once and always had lovely food the only Critism I have is the waiter wasn't too good with English and seemed miserable to be there I hope the manager took our opinion into consideration and improves the service of nabab to be as good as the food

I went to Nabab with two friends on my excellent trip to isle of wight.this restaurant is a disaster for someone looking to wrap up their trip to Newport.the food is definitely not authentic and should not claim to be Indian cuisine by any standard. Over that they have a very angry, rude, racist head waiter who will yell at you. we ordered garlic naan but got plain one instead and when we complained he yelled and acted angrily. But the evening was further ruined by sweet food instead spicy a ordered. This restaurant is a sham in the name of Indian cuisine.

The guy went off in the middle of the order and didnt come back till 20 mins. And was shouting at us when we asked about the delay. Got us plain nan instead of garlic and was saying we ordered plain nan. We had to ask him to open the order sheet to prove him that he was wrong. Treated us very badly. I strongly suggest avoiding this place. The food was also pathetic.

We returned here after enjoying our meal last year and the meal didn't disappoint as it often can do when you've returned for a second bite of the cherry. The room had been tastefully redecorated and was both comfortable and stylish. The meal was delicious - I had chicken shashlik and my husband had lamb methi. Both were large portions and with the fresh naan and fluffy rice we couldn't finish the dish. The price was ridiculously cheap - just over £20 which included a couple of glasses of decent red house wine. It was our last night otherwise we'd have gone back again. A definite revisit when we come back later in the year.

The food was terrible. The chef had heaped way too much turmeric in the Biriyani and side dishes that the meal was inedible. Being an Indian who has eaten Indian food in several restaurants in and outside India, I can say that this is the absolute WORST food I have ever eaten.If the food was terrible, the service was worse. They refused to accept our order for more bread during our meal because they "had a system"!!! After our meal, the steward wouldn't give us wet tissues to wipe our hands - as he gave to the tables of Caucasians around us. He rudely pointed us to the restrooms, the hygiene of which is a different story in itself. And in the end we were charged for the "chutney tray" which was plopped on our table without us having ordered it. All in all, if in that area, go to the lovely Pizza express. If you are super desperate for Indian cuisine, take a ferry to Portsmouth - coz what they serve in Nabab sure ain't Indian.

If you want a solid Indian meal for 1,2 or 12, you can rely on Nabab.I've eaten there many times. No surprises and the place does it's job well enough.

Didn't have a reservation here and it is not a large place, but we were fortunate enough to get a table. Others were turned away so booking is recommended. Service was prompt and polite. There menu was varied, interesting and slightly different from the normal choices including some fish and duck curries as well as all the curry restaurant standards. The food was tasty, but only moderately spicy - I prefer my curries to be hotter - but that was probably down to my choice rather than the restaurant. Portions were large and I left so full it was uncomfortable.

Some of the best Indian food we have ever tasted, great atmosphere, all the staff made a fuss of the kids and made us feel incredibly welcome.

We were recommended this restaurant by the hotel we were staying at, wanting a nice restaurant for our anniversary. We were not disappointed. The usual menu seemed slightly pricey, but we were offered a special menu available on wednesdays, which was roughly £25 per person for a set meal. Food was lovely, hot and spicy in the right places. Service was polite and speedy. If we lived locally we would be regulars!

While wandering the streets of Newport searching for a place to eat, we stumbled on this place and were enticed in by a friendly waiter - it seemed a better alternative than the Chinese across the street.The decor was fresh and attractive, the service friendly and efficient and the food was outstanding. Even the vegetarian korma was spicy and interesting. The wine list was short but more than adequate - we enjoyed a petit chablis with our food and were delighted to be presented with complimentary drinks (a brandy and a Baileys) after our meal.We went back again the next week. The service was still friendly and efficient and the food was still delicious, although obviously cooked by a different chef - and the after-dinner drinks were still on the house.... Try it - we were delighted.
