My Coffee Story in Brighton and Hove

I feel I need to share this review even if a part of me it is hesitant to do. Cakes are amazing and you can taste that they are homemade. However, the second time I went there this lady was washing some dirty dishes and then when I asked for a piece of cake to take away, she brought it behind the counter and without cleaning her hands she touched the piece of cake that was for me and used a knife that was dangerously close to the dirty dishes. That scene made me loose my appetite. As someone who worked in hospitality before let me tell you PLEASE clean your hands. Have some basic hygiene knowledge!

Warm and welcoming, great food and service!

While visiting Brighton with my friend for a few days, we came across this wonderful place. The pastries and cakes were absolutely delicious and the coffee was as well. During our stay we visited the coffee shop as many times as possible and were always greeted with the sweetest customer service, by the amazing owner. Definitely go here if you’re in Brighton! ☀️

The immediate selection of cakes and pastries pulled me in and the excellent choice in coffee and smoothies did not disappoint.

Came across this gem after a walk. Has nice sponge dessert on the window and we decided to get it. Nice coffee, good decorations with give a nice vibe to the place. Coffee was tasty, I had a cappuccino with alternative milk; come back to taste the cheesecake and it was delicious. Very light and fresh, homemade like. Service great as usual.

The cafe is good and I recommend the sandwiches.

Popped in for a coffee, fab cappuccino with oat milk one of the best I’ve had. And the apple crumble cheesecake Omg!!! Amazing, absolutely delicious and homemade. Will be back!! 😊💚

Beautiful little cafe. The cheesecakes were delicious, we had both the cherry and pistachio, and clearly homemade and the service was very friendly. The cafe is very cosy so not ideal for large groups but perfect for a couple or solo stop.

Café very charming. Delicious coffee and pistachio cheesecake. I pretty sure that the others cakes are also excellent. I recommend the swings by the window. Next time I gonna try one of the sandwiches.

Fantastic service, dog friendly, great coffee & cakes

This cozy tiny cafe in kemptown is a rare gem. I usually pop in and take a seat whilst waiting for my clothes on the laundromat. On this visit i ordered a cappuccino, but i was served a hot chocolate instead. But it was still nice. Unfortunately i haven’t had the chance to try their food menu, but the coffee is amazing and is also cheap. The service is always great , and they’ve got quite a follow of regulars too.

Great little find where we enjoyed a coffee, hot chocolate, and shared a slice of blueberry cheesecake. Cosy inside and so much better than the usual big name outlets. Well worth a visit.

Everything is handmade and very delicious. You can even go here because of the polite attitude of the employees. Everyone should definitely taste the wonderful flavors🌸

Very calm and healing place, very nice atmosphere. Not so expensive. You can spend a few minutes here just to clean up your mind with a cup of a realllly good coffee. Important! They have a large choice of sandwiches and 'borek', you can ask to heat it so it is delicious! Recommend! No parking around unfortunately.

This is a remarkable , super friendly cafe , offering the very best pastries and cakes , all freshly made in their own kitchen .. MCS opens 7 days a week from 7am ..! It’s also the Kemptown cafe of choice for Brighton Swimming Club’s early morning swimmers ..I couldn’t speak more highly of it ! Paul Smith

Nous avons passé un agréable moment dans ce petit coffee shop. Le café et le thé étaient très bons et la dame au comptoir adorable ! Nous avons pris une part de gâteau au chocolat et deux parts de brownies tellement ce dernier était délicieux !

Great coffee and Turkish breakfast 🍳

Our whole group fell in love with this place. The owner/operator was so hospitable, the coffee was really good, and the baked goods were great even though we arrived late in the day. If we had been staying at a hotel in Brighton instead of London I could see coming here every single day for a treat or to take a rest from walking.

Went along for one of the delicious looking breakfasts. Laminated A4 menus on tables. Just as we were about to order were told breakfast only on weekends... so why leave the menus out?! That's £30 lost.

I got a hazelnut latte and it was excellent! The service was great. The woman was so friendly. Def coming back. Thank you for such great service.

Fantastic little location with a quirky and cool atmosphere. The coffees and mocha tasted refreshingly fresh. The pistachio cheesecake was light and delicious. Would highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a tasty cakes selection and fresh coffee!

Little gem of a find that we stumbled across. The most polite and friendly staff that you could wish to meet. They didn't have any Hesitation is preparing fresh food on request and brilliant coffee.

Small and beautiful coffee shop. The coffee is good and they have a good number of options specially sweets like cakes, including vegan options. Unfortunately, the value of my review is in base quality/price and I payed 10£ for a caffee late and a small piece of cake, which is already most expensive than any coffee shop in the center of London or even most in the airports. If I pay 10£, for this, I will expect much more. But for just a take away coffee, is a good place.

A small and cosy cafe with good options for breakfast. Ordered iced latte, lemon and blueberry cake, veg pastry and a chicken sandwich. Will recommend tasting their cakes; sandwich and pastry was ok ok..

Really lovely little coffee shop with well presented sandwiches and pastries, fillings you would not usually come across in the UK with influence from Eastern Europe - would love to know which country? The coffee was yummy as well, I had a decaf caramel latte. 4/5 Stars as the toasted sandwich could have been toasted for a bit longer. Would absolutely return! :)

We absolutely loved this small and delightful cafe. There was a selection of delicious pastries (sweet and savoury) and sandwiches - all home-made by the delightful and friendly owner. All that you could possibly wish for. A real gem, and we'll definitely be back on our next visit to Brighton.

Friendly and attentive staff, quite charming actually. The staff are mostly Turkish who make and bake much of the food; lots of variety - you're never quite sure what they'll have - and sandwiches are interesting. Decor is gently quirky, not ostentatiously so, not hipsterish - music is background, rather than to the fore; clientele are quite mixed, with lots of regulars I think. Probably now my fave in Kemptown since Red Roaster was destroyed.

Lovely place for a light Sunday lunch. The coffee was delicious as were the sourdough sarnies we had. Highly recommended

Absolutely lovely gem. The lady that works there (maybe the owner who had made the food?) was so kind and welcoming. There was a lovely selection of breakfast and brunch type sandwiches, baguettes ext. The hardest choice was what one to choose. I am vegetarian and there was an amazing selection to choose from. And the fresh tea was amazing. Overall I am very upset I am only a visitor to Brighton. The food and service were amazing. This is a wee Brighton gem. If you want the full English type breakfast then keep walking. If you want lovely and kind service and stunning healthy tasty light breakfast then this is the number one place.
