We visited in early February 2025 Fantastic part of town. The building was atmospheric and the restaraunt calm and relaxing. I had been very excited to visit being from down South. The pakoras were fantastic in variety, the lentil curry and paratha was nice and the desserts perfect we were really made welcome by the marvelous gentleman who ai presume was the owner and nice waiters. Overall a fantastic night in the West End of Glasgow

Overrated and no naan breads! after reading many rave reviews I was incredibly excited to go here. I had the Murphy fryer for 2, the cheese pakora was outstanding and the lamb samosa was delicious. It went downhill for the mains. I ordered a butter chicken and it tasted so strongly of tomato. My partner got a chasni and it was very bland to top it off they didn’t have any naan breads as it was scored off the menu, which is a bit embarrassing not having that staple food at an Indian restaurant.

Stopped in for a few drinks, but it was pretty apparent, at least based on the behaviour of the odd man in the important suit, that our business wasn't appreciated, even though there were only 2 other tables dining in the restaurant. I certainly have no expectations of special treatment, but this fellow made it a point to visit the other tables multiple times to greet them and light candles and walk right by us. Oh well 🤷♂️, skip it and visit one of the many other fantastic businesses nearby!

The food arrived lukewarm(asked for it to be reheated), the rice and chapati 5 minutes afterwards! There was way less than 1 chicken breast of meat, felt a bit stingy. Masala fries were just basically fries with a little sprinkle of something but there was no flavour. Tables not cleared to make room For new plates and we all giggling dirty dishes when they were showing more food onto table. Overall was a big letdown as I’d heard good things about it.

Not the best Indian in the area. Really enjoy the cheese pakora starter but the mains were very bland and almost felt watered down. We got the butter chicken and chasni which I understand are both mild curry’s in general but these were almost tasteless. They also didn’t have any naan breads available when we went which I thought was pretty poor for an Indian restaurant.

I came for pakora but what I got was pakoregret. £16 for 8 tiny pakoras, was expecting larger bits for this price point and more sauces, really disappointed overall. Bog standard takeaway level Indian with tiny portions and far too expensive for what it was. Save yourself the trip and head to alishan, chakoo or mother indian round the corner.

Unfortunately, the place doesn't warrant the 5 star reviews it gets. Very cramped at table number 1 in the window recess. Limited slimmed down menu and naan breads inked out on a sticky menu. Fish Pakora over fried and dry. Garlic chilli chicken was average and went cold quickly as it was served in thick clay wide bodied dishes. Unfortunately we won't recommend it.

Unfortunately, the food is surprisingly poor. It's the worst (sit-in) Indian meal I've had in Glasgow. Was really hoping for a nice meal because it's well rated for the most part. So yeah... The starter (bhajis) and mains (korma) were brought out together which wasn't helpful - I felt I was being rushed - but even then the onion bhajis were so oily and greasy I couldn't have finished them even if I was given time. So that wasn't ideal. And I was really surprised by how poor the ceylonese korma was - it was like cream had been mixed with curry powder and heated slightly. No flavours, no thickness, no freshness at all. Not good. Since they didn't have any herbal teas (mint teas, etc.) - no worries, it happens during busy periods, fair enough! - I asked for a lemon slice in hot water. I was still charged 2.95 for it, which wasn't cool. But the manager was very courteous and took the hot water and bhajis off the bill, to be fair to him. So hoping for another good Indian meal, but that didn't happen. Not great at all.

Really poor. Unsure if the positive reviews are real it's that bad. As other negative reviews have suggested - the food is fairly flavourless and bland. The sauce is thin. The chicken is dry. It feels as if they are trying to drive costs down. Tiny portions, cheap tasting. Easily the worst curry I've had in Glasgow.

Honestly, THE WORST CURRIES I have ever had. We ordered take away from here and ordered the south indian. It was practically inedible. I have no idea how the reviews are so high?? Did the chefs have a bad night? Is it just the take away? They went straight in the bin. The chicken was so dry and the sauce was thin and very very overpowering of garlic. Infact the synthetic garlic was the only taste to it. The poppadoms and spiced onions were the star. Try a million other Indians that are edible around Glasgow.

One of worst foods you can have. The pakora is ok, had so called gol gappa where some one has spit spit microscopic potato into a readymade puff and when I returned the dish, there was no asking why I did not like it or ask for a refund as the dish was below par. Definitely an insult to Indian taste.

Wow! The food in here is cooked to absolute perfection 👌 highlights for me was the cheese pakora, chorizo pakora and the lamb baltiI. I seldom order Lamb out because past experiences of it being too fatty have put me off. This was amazing. We shared the pakora platter, a great way to try all the different ones. My friends loved their mains, although decided mines was the tastiest😅 we got free pompodoms with spiced onions and free pastacio and mango ice cream as it was my first visit🙏 great menu choice, drinks menu and staff where lovely and friendly. 👌 The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was actually down to the owner (sorry) we just felt he was a a bit too much, over at our table alot showing off all his pictures of the celebs he has met over the years, not impressed like at all. Aside from that, the food is amazing. Bravo to the chefs. Decent prices for Finneston.

We plan most our restaurant visits for our trips, by Murphy's was an exception as we just popped in (extra time, a wee little rain). Murphy's Pakoras is an absolute gem in Glasgow's vibrant food scene. The moment you step into the restaurant, you're greeted with the warm, inviting atmosphere that reflects the personality of its owner, Mr. Raj. Known for his humility and dedication, Mr. Raj ensures every guest feels at home, and it’s clear that his passion for food is at the heart of the restaurant's success. Food: The star of the menu is, without a doubt, the pakoras. Crispy on the outside and perfectly spiced on the inside, they are a true representation of authentic Indian flavors. Each bite is a burst of taste, showcasing the careful attention to seasoning and quality ingredients. But the menu doesn’t stop there—whether you’re indulging in the rich, creamy curries or savoring the fragrant biryanis, every dish is a testament to the culinary expertise that has made Murphy's Pakoras a beloved spot. Ambiance: The ambiance is cozy and unpretentious, making it an ideal place for both a casual meal or a special night out. The decor is simple yet elegant, allowing the food to be the main focus. Service: The service is top-notch, with Mr. Raj often making rounds to personally ensure that guests are enjoying their meals. His humility and genuine care for his customers shine through, making the dining experience all the more memorable. Overall: Murphy's Pakoras isn’t just a place to eat—it’s an experience. From the outstanding food to the warm, personalized service, it’s no surprise that the restaurant has received accolades and has been visited by celebrities and even recognized by royalty. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Glasgow, a meal at Murphy's Pakoras is a must.

2nd time visited, and unfortunately this restaurant just doesn't do it for my taste buds. Not a great selection on their menu, tasty poppadoms with spiced onions, but Pakora just too crunchy and dry. 1st visit my lamb dish had 3 maybe 4 pieces of lamb, so went for a chicken dish 2nd time around, a bit better, again though to my taste. Experienced first time being served readymade Naan in a restaurant for £4.50 could have bought the full packet from FoodAsia.South Indian garlic chicken was not even close enough to the title Chicken seemed boiled inside the curry bland with no curry taste.
