It’s expensive because the food tastes like 2£ supermarket frozen stuff. The lasagna tasted bad that neither me or my sister (we were sharing it) could finish it. The fish and chips was bad, but we were so hungry that we shared and finished it. Well, 80£ for BAD food is something unbelievable. The service wasn’t bad, but 1 star for the food is already too much.

tourist trap heinz ketchup isn't real heinz its been refilled with cheaper stuff. Same with coke, replaced with some cola and lemonades too. read the other reviews and it will tell you everything you need to know

Average to below average quality food - similar to what you might get in a hospital/school canteen. Expensive for what it is, but then it's in a Central London tourist trap location (next to the British Museum).

WORST food - and £7 for a portion of frozen chips. Don't eat here unless you really enjoy getting your pants pulled down in public.

Excellent late night spot, great traditional food!

Fish and Chip is cheaper in this restaurant. We did not try other dishes as prices are a bit high. The boss is friendly.

I came at 4:30 in the afternoon. There were not many people there, so it was quite comfortable. The waiters are always on call and the service is very good. The signature fish and chips are all freshly fried, and the cappuccino is also grilled. It's not a good deal, but it's definitely worth it.

J’ai pris un fish and chips (16 £). Frites et poisson surgelé. Si vous prenez une bière préciser LA QUANTITÉ QUE VOUS VOULEZ le serveur vas vous mètre sans vous demander une pinte. 10£. Service agréable, mais maladroit. A fait tomber un appairé gras dans mes affaires de qui a taché les achats précédemment faits au British museum. Conclusion : allez-y seulement si vous ne vous voulez pas vous casser la tête à chercher un resto. 40 £ à deux. Trop cher pour ce que c’est.

The food is horrible and relentlessly expensive. Everything is fried in old oil. The cleanliness leaves much to be desired. We ate 3 people a Jack potato, a fish and cheeps, a club sandwich, 2 pints a beers and a juice. 82 pounds. I do not recomand.

Rip off place, the "traditional english" food isn't that a all, at least not the "roast beef" and Yorkshire pudding at £30 which was just minute steaks hard as my shoe and frozen pudding.

Lovely service, best baked potato I have ever tasted...really!! Fish and chips great, battered fish so light, melted in mouth. No grease at all. Chef and server lively guys, give it a go. Just by british meuseum. Highly recmmend

Bit of a funky spot. The decor is like one of this outlandish pubs but the prices for the food were a bit ridiculous. Got the fish and chips and the chips were just bog standard chips, possibly of the frozen kind. The fish was ok, the batter a little over fried and crumbly. Essentially was a massive fish finger. Probably won't reccomend as the quality vs the price is not good. (£4.50 for a diet coke!)

This was the mistake of hungry and tired people after several hours of sightseeing. On the plus side, the service was very nice and friendly, and the food was served quickly. That's it. The interior is average and not very clean. The fish would have been ok, but it was actually a lot of breading with the fish. Additionally, mushy peas and tartar sauce are artificial and tasteless, and the Heinz package is some cheap ketchup substitute, what's the point?! Generally, if the dishes were tasty, the prices could be swallowed (obligatory service 12.5%), but unfortunately here the bill is completely inappropriately high in relation to the quality.

Don't come here, I ordered fish and chips and my fish had black curly hair, disgusting, outside they advertise one price and then charge you another, a scam.

£61 for two Fish and Chips and two non-alcoholic beers. They put 12% in the account, they put it on the menu. A fish and chips had curly hair.

They scammed us, the price of the fish and chips was £15 as a promotion of the day and they charged us £23 and the excuse was that they were different fish

Drinks and Calamari were acceptable, but the "large fish and chips" for £24.... there are pubs nearby that would be embarrassed charging £9 for that serving. Staff were amazing, attentive and polite, but the pricing is comical.

Fuimos hoy a tomar un té por la tarde. Estaba tan feliz de tomar un verdadero té inglés por la tarde y me fui terriblemente decepcionado! Las tartas no son frescas sino que se toman en supermercado , el bocadillo hecho sin ningún amor : Solo un trozo de queso y un pepino tiran dentro del pan, ¡y todo esto por 27 libras cada uno! Es una trampa para turistas. No puedo comentar la otra comida pero el té de la tarde para evitar Absoluto! No puedo poner ninguna foto porque estaba tan triste cuando vi la comida que no quería recordar esta experiencia de ninguna manera!

Expensive, they add charges without informing you. Empty premises. The waiters go out to look for customers like us, who are walking around the area and everything is full, they trust. Anymore.

Very expensive restaurant for the food they offer. When you go in once you don't come back. Small bottles of water at €5 each. Plus, they magically increase the price by 12%. I don't recommend it even for the food and much less for the price.

Nice place, good food. For us Italians, however, like all of London it is expensive and exaggerated. A rice with chicken, 2 fishen chips, a salad starter and 2 waters go above 60 pounds. So to eat all this you spend almost €100 less which is something inconceivable for what we can eat in Italy. Furthermore, the costs of the dishes are high and you have to pay a tip to the waiter to bring you the dishes and glasses above €5…….

Today i tries Beef steak is very good . Also i had a chicken soup its amazing.

The staff is very kind, idrish was our server. The shepards pie was really good and of course you can’t go wrong with chips. We finished it all. Good portion for the price, and of course amazing location with it being right next to the museum. We are tourists but we would come back to try other things on the menu if back in the area! :))

Would not recommend. Very overpriced for what you get. Paid £25 for soup, water, and a beer. Soup was very salty. £4 for a still Kirkland water bottle.

DON'T GO! To start, THEY LIE WITH THE PRICES ON THE LETTER!!! They set a price and then when they charge they add not much money for other factors (taxes? Tip? Service? I don't know!) but two hamburgers without fries, two soft drinks and a portion of chicken wings for about 60 pounds. And the worst of all is that the food was terrible. Run away from here!!!

We went in because we didn't know where to go and we regretted not eating at the museum... They apply 12% to the prices they offer for adults. The water is very expensive, €4 per small bottle... And the food is very poor (I ate sardines and they repeat me and the frozen potatoes tasted... Like oil that has been used many times...). As always, if they come looking for you to get you in, run away.

Stopped in for a light lunch after visiting the British museum. We ordered onion rings and the fish and chips to share. The service was the best we've had while in London, the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The lettuce that was garnish for the onion round was fresh and crisp and made a great salad. The fish was cooked perfectly, so crispy, and had flavor. The chips were hot and some of the best we've had in London. We would return if in London again.

Watered down beer and shoe leather meat that I may have to sick up cos my stomach is aching now. Knew it was a tourist trap but let myself be suckered in anyway lmfao learn from my mistake. Lovely service tho.

We had an excellent meal here, delicious steak and kidney pie and the rush and chips are also delicious. Not five stars because it is a bit dingy. Black deposits at the toilet sink, sticky floor, chairs and well, a bit of everything. I would clean everything nicely with a few buckets of soapy water for a few evenings and then the 5 stars would fly in.

Munchkins restaurant is across the street from the British Museum. The line for the museum was extremely long and not moving so we decided to visit Munchkins for a morning tea and were very pleasantly surprised by their scones. The best we had eaten in London. The next time we are in London, we will definitely visit Munchkins again.

So this is the racists who gave me food which tasted as if it had come out of the garbage. I was ill for days. They took unbridgeable to the color of my skin. So sad.

Nipped in for a quick tea after the British Museum, knew we were being ripped off £40 for a tea, coffee, 5 chicken wings on iceberg, mozzarella, avocado and half a tomato on iceberg..... really don't bother 🤣🤣🤣 Starbucks is 3 doors down

Had lunch here, got the Shepard’s pie. Food was mid tbh. Service was good though, quickly got me a table, brought me my drink and food quickly. Place was clean, workers were actively cleaning up and seem to take pride in the place. Don’t know what the theme was suppose to be though.

Visitamos para el desayuno alrededor de las 10 am el domingo. El restaurante estaba vacío en este punto. Pedimos café y navegamos por el menú. El desayuno inglés completo era de £ 15. 95 cada uno, así que decidimos saltarnos la comida. El personal era amable, y el café estaba bien. Pero £ 11 por 2 tazas de café es realmente descarado. Está al otro lado de la calle del Museo Británico, pero cobrar precios de restaurante de lujo en lo que es esencialmente un café es simplemente engañar a los turistas.
