Stumbled across this lovely little cafe. Lots of information throughout about the history of the building. The breakfast was 👌🏼 I had poached eggs with avocado and bacon on a muffin and it was delicious, the coffee was great too! We knew it would be good as soon as we walked in from a very wet morning to be greeted warmly by the staff and the amazing smell of bacon cooking. 10/10 🌟

Owners Basil and Susan were friendly and engaging to each person who entered. Locals as well as tourists are welcome. Susan's scones are the best. The historical Mullins building goes back to the early 1600's. You can see original brick and the fireplace of the home. When you go to Dorking, you must make time to visit them. - from 2 sisters who enjoyed their hospitality

As usual, the food, the service and ambience at Mullins were excellent. Susan and Basil do run a wonderful coffee shop and eatery in the lovely town of Dorking. We have visited on several occasions every time we have stayed with friends in Dorking, and they love it too. Mullins is situated in a building once owned by William Mullins who was one of the pioneers aboard the first Mayflower sailing to North America in 1620. We will continue to visit Mullins every time we travel down to see our friends. All the hot food options are wonderful and the cakes are superb, including the amazing ginger cake. Keep up the great work Susan and Basil and we hope to see you again very soon.

Myself and my Grandson were visiting Dorking from Oldham for the football match and after reading reviews of Mullins' coffee shop we thought we would visit for breakfast. We had made a reservation and its a good job we did as the coffee shop was full by the time we left late morning on Saturday. The owner is very pleasant, helpful and obliging and the food we had was absolutely spot on. I opted for the full breakfast which did not disappoint and my Grandson opted for a toasted sandwich. Both were freshly cooked and we enjoyed our drinks while we waited. A fellow Oldham fan was also enjoying a breakfast here! All in all, definitely worth visiting and we have no hesitation in returning. A comprehensive menu catering for all tastes. Thankyou to all the staff for making our visit to your coffee shop and Dorking a memorable one.

We've been trying to get into Mullins for a few years now, but it's always full when we visit Dorking. But today was our lucky day, and what a treat is was. Delicious sandwiches very generously packed with lovely, fresh fillings and the best coffee in town served with a delightful taste of ginger cake. Such a friendly greeting too, it was an absolute pleasure to visit - a perfect coffee shop.

Very busy when I arrived. Owner served me and was courteous and nice. Sorry I can't give a glowing review. My food took far, far too long to arrive. Although I have a pretty common special dietary requirement which was used as justification for the very long wait for a sandwich, it was still not good. Other cafes manage to fix me food in far less time. I thought my sandwich filling tasted good but that it was very expensive for what I had - amount of salad served with it and sandwich size were tiny. On the plus side, I really liked the vibe and all the memorabilia and historical explanation about the links with the shoemaker who had worked out of this shop - maybe even lived there - who left for America on the Mayflower, ultimately being an ancestor of many Americans - including Marilyn Monroe.

This is a great find, nice staff, good food and a bit of history. The Coffee Shop is situated in the house of William Mullins. Arrived at around 15:20pm. Although many places were free - we had to sit at a particular table because ‘the others had been cleaned and weren’t to be used’ .. presumably do the owner should make an easy closure at 16:00. Our permitted table was inline with the door and traffic noise was bad. Ordered the ginger/date cake - unfortunately was dry and crumbly - definitely not moist and delicious. A disappointing visit.

Visited the cafe on a Friday lunchtime. It’s a nice little cafe in the centre of Dorking and feels homely. The menu has a good range of sandwiches and paninis which were tasty. Unfortunately the food took around 45mins to arrive despite the simple menu. The delay was due to there being 10 people’s orders (about 2/3 of the capacity) being in front of ours. Really do feel like they could do with an extra pair of hands in the kitchen. The other thing was very much looking forward to a cake afterwards as they looked great from afar. However, upon closer inspection it was easy to see that the sponge cake wasn’t very fluffy and was underbaked; we therefore passed on ordering some.

Hopefully this excellent coffee lounge will re-open soon. Visited just before the lockdown and had an excellent lunch in the sunny garden room. The staff were very friendly; the food was of high quality, well prepared and the prices were reasonable. It's well worth a visit, as it is home to a very large, fine quality antiques centre. We spent at least an hour browsing and purchased some silver (there is a wonderful selection of genuine silver and objet's d'art here). Dorking remains an old-fashioned market town and this tea-room is a gem.

What an excellent family friendly pub with fantastic food, it was the best roast I have had in years. Going anywhere with an autistic child can be hard but the staff couldn’t do enough for us and made such an effort to make us feel welcome and at ease. The food was not only of an excellent quality, the beef melted on your mouth but the portion size was very generous as well. It was so cheap for what you got and was one of the best value meals I have ever had for the quality and size.

Fantastic service, sadly my husband had some of the blue label in his wine which went un noticed until we mentioned it and I had a large bone in a small fillet of seabass. There was no apology, just a response from thr head chef of oh, that sometimes happens. This made me feel that we were there at their behest, not enjoying a relaxed Anniversary celebration as was intended. The waitress referred to my husband and I as guys which wasnt appreciated. Some incredibly odd food pairings of black garlic in a petit four and castel blue cheese and German sausage on a plate of Highland venison. It is the most beautiful building but I have enjoyed better tasting food in other locations. Sadly not for me, an8d I am classically trained in food cookery.

Went to the garden house for lunch. So beautiful and atmospheric, everybody was really welcoming and Phillipa was especially lovely, taking good care of us and informing us of the menu and specialities of the day. The beef ragu was delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was a great treat! Definitely worth it.
