The Mulberry Restaurant is for groups, but there is a perfectly good restaurant inside and out for couples. The service was welcoming, efficient, and professional. The menu choice were good and the food was very well presented and prepared.

Very nice food, excellent service and a lovely looking restaurant. Had a great meal here. Worth 5 stars but minus one for the automatic 12.5% service charge that was added to the bill.

Food was below par for the associated cost. Service was very slow and spotty for most of our dinner. I would recommend for having cocktails before dinner and then trying one of the less fancy restaurants in town.

Had cornish stone bass and chessboard first night both very good. Ordered slow cooked beef second night very disappointed no taste very dry tiny portion ridiculous for the price! Cocktails very good most expensive if my trip but that is expected in a 4 star hotel.

We are local and went for a meal tonight for our anniversary. We used to love going to the Mulberry restaurant for special occasions as it was a great fine dining experience and amazing food.... Not so any more! Fullers have taken it over and it's now just over priced pub food that isn't good quality at all. The wine list is also massively overpriced with cheap quality wines. The decor had changed for the worse and no carpet or table clothes any more. Basically save your money and eat in the Black Bear instead.... Similar experience now but the Black Bear is much better value for money! So disappointed!

We stayed at hotel and ate here during our stay. The service was impeccable and the actual restaurant was very nice and cosy. The food was on another level, we were served warm bread and butter first followed by a main, my main consisted of a short rib of beef with aerated mushroom domes and cooked onion. I had a side of mash potato which was extra but well worth it. The beef was melt in your mouth and absolutely delicious. For sweet I had a sticky toffee pudding which was the very best I have ever had, it was wonderfully light with a sweet toffee sauce topped with a spoonful of ice cream. A truly epic pudding. It was fairly pricey but you did get what you paid for. My only gripe was the addition of 10% for service which I think should be a choice not already added to your bill. Though this was my only complaint.

We had birthday dinner at this restaurant last night, we were very disappointed that they forgot our order. My birthday friend had lemon sole just with over cooked chips, nothing else. We waited our side dishes which they were forgotten, and my hake was cold and very salty. I'm not a professional chef but I know what good food or not. This restaurant is way over priced for what we had and poor service. Disappointing.

I couldn't fault the food, but the service was a mess from start to finish. The head of service greeted us in a manner than suggested we weren't welcome, no wine list was given with the menu and when requested we were told the venue did not have a drinks menu? Dirty plates were not cleared from our table, after four staff had come over and left them we had to ask that they were taken away. We were asked 3 times about dessert (once before mains had come), and had to ask twice for the bill. When the bill did come we were asked to pay at the bar. Unacceptable for a meal coating nearly £80.

thought this was a 2 Michelen star place - our primary server did her best but the general hotel approach was very poor - spilt champagne left on table, after the first glass left to get up and pour our own champagne and wine, no steak knives, no-one ever asked if the meals were ok, etc . Not impressed at all.

This is a gorgeous old building made from the mellow golden Cotswold limestone. Inside is elegant and unassuming and outside is a lovely terrace and garden with seating and tables. We chose to sit outside and enjoy a late summer evening. The food was exceptional. We ordered a cannon of lamb with mash and gravy and a dish of lemon sole with salsa verde and a sald of broad beans, samphire and potatoes. The lemon sole dish was a culinary masterpiece. The only slight disappointment was the service. You will get served here eventually but these boys like to take their time. They'll serve you when they're good and ready and not before. So I can wholeheartedly recommend the Mulberry restaurant but make sure you go in a laid-back frame of mind because these lads aren't in a hurry. Have a glass of wine and enjoy the passing of the seasons whilst you wait for someone to take your order.

Plenty of space, a one way system and sanitiser. Felt a little odd some staff wearing masks, some not, but overall felt safe. Starters:ham hock terrine, pea soup and tiger prawns were tasty and nicely presented except for the accompanying bread. The terrine and prawns came with the smallest, thinest piece of somewhat dry bread (allegedly sour dough, but difficult to tell) I've ever seen. The focaccia with the soup was also small and solid. Other than that an excellent roast Sunday lunch with beautifully cooked tender beef. The brocolli with it had barely met the boiling water but never mind you could saw bits off if determined. The staff were efficient and friendly and tried really hard to put everyone at ease and it's a beautiful setting so would have scored 5 stars if the bread had lived up to its menu billing.

The website showed an attractive menu but while having drinks (some creative cocktails) we were presented with a prix fixe menu for 45 pounds. Hesitant at first, we said "let's try it" and had a delightful and elegantly served dinner. The pigeon appetizer was particularly good, the pre-starter and the touch of ice cream before dessert were good touches, and the food tastefully presented and made to order. Monkfish on corn risotto was particularly good, and a macaroon with roquefort ice cream was unique.

Mulberry is the fine dining restaurant of the Manor House Hotel. It is a nice and cozy restaurant with smiling friendly staff but the food can unfortunately in no way be considered gourmet. It more felt like this was just another average meal in a restaurant that is slightly better than average.

I visited the restaurant at the beginning of May along with a friend. My starter was a pigeon breast served with sweetcorn purée and small pieces of popcorn. Beautifully restored hotel and lovely garden views but the food was pretentious and not very good - dry, off flavors, weird textures but decorative tiny portions. Staff were well-meaning but untrained and obviously being exploited which made the 171 GBP bill for 2 even more galling. Nice wine and cocktails but we’ve had better meals at far less expensive venues. The food was off. The chef appears to be a person who does not enjoy eating. Desserts had been sitting out and coagulating. Meat was dry. Sauces flavorless, soup too salty. Terrible.

Rather than have one wine for the whole meal we opted for the taster wine option. We really enjoyed the food. We ordered from the 4 course menu and loved every course. Highly recommend the venison and cheese board but everything was good and really well prepared, even the amuse bouche and palate cleanser. Compliments to the chef. We also felt that, for the standard we were getting, prices were reasonable. And nice selection of wines. Again, reasonably priced we thought. In all fairness, myself and my wife stumbled across this restaurant and having not booked, our expectations were not particularly high. After being uninspired by the Brasserie menu, we were happy to move through to the restaurant and chose the eight course tasting menu. My wife was not too keen on some of the sommeliers wine choices and decided to decide for herself, I was driving so I asked the waiter if I could have non alcoholic drinks that matched each course. After some confusion the bar man did a great job. The amuse bouche arrived and was ok. A pressed ham hock with pineapple pureé. The next dish was then served but we had no drinks, we sat waiting for a good five minutes with the food in front of us before my drink came and another few minutes before my wife's wine showed up. At this point the food had become tepid and when we eventually tasted it, there was an underwhelming lack of salt. A lack of flavour. Next was a pallet cleanser, sorbet, which was what could only be described as ice cream, possibly vanilla. Next dish, Stone Bass, beautifully presented with delightfully crispy skin but once again, no salt. Duck was next. Nicely cooked and served with baby gem lettuce that was cooked to a soggy mush. The cheeses were next. This, I cannot fault. A fantastic array of local cheeses and a few from further a field. Into the dessert, something that in my view should be a standout, the last course and something to really stick in the mind, this will, but unfortunately for the wrong reasons. Firstly, we were the only 2 left in the restaurant and it seemed as though we were a hinderance. We were not offered dessert wine or a non alcoholic alternative for that matter. The dessert was not good. It seemed to be pre plated, as though the kitchen staff had plated it and then gone home and the sorbet looked like and had the texture of something you would find in a hanky during a mid winter cold. I think the pastry chef had probably used a little too much 'pro sorbet'. All in all, a very mixed experience. One thing I would say also is if you are going to lie about the wine, then lie to someone who doesn't know what they're talking about and secondly, always make eye contact when you are talking to a paying customer, the waiter didn't do that. I would like to point out that we paid full price and this review is purely for the benefit of the restaurant.

I came to the Mulberry restaurant on 17 August, 2017 with my grandson (13) who I have been hiking with in the Cotswolds. We were showered and dressed nicely (casual) but Ben (the host) said that the Mulberry was for fine dining and we couldn’t be admitted because my grandson was wearing trainers – new black Reebok sneakers with pristine white soles – which weren’t allowed by the dress code. We understood and had dinner in the Brasserie with the most fantastic waitress – Alex. However, after a short while we saw a guest wearing Crocs enter the Mulberry and soon after a couple in rather dilapidated worn out sneakers go in for dinner ??????????????????I spoke to Ben as we left and his explanation was that they must have gotten past him without noticing. He’s obviously not doing his job. I feel that we were discriminated against as I read reviews in Trip Advisor and also on the Manor House Hotel site and other sites and there is no mention of a dress code.

The pig cheek starter was tasty, but a little heavy handed with the sauce seasoning. The Stilton cheese panna cotta combination just didn't work. The lamb loin entree was satisfactory, but the beef fillet entree was not good as the quality of beef was poor. The chocolate & banana fondant was good, but the accompanying chocolate molten cake was too rich. Very heavy meal. There are some decent options on the wine list and the service is good. We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, but I have to say because it is part of the same chain as the Broadway Hotel I was a little apprehensive as our experiences there have been dreadful. Well, the Broadway Hotel need to spend time at this hotel/restaurant as it knocks spots off them. I wish the whole team could exchange with the Broadway Hotel as we would be frequenting it very regularly as we live in Broadway. We took friends who were visiting for the weekend and we all said how lovely it was in every respect. The food was lovely - good choices, nicely presented and well cooked. The staff were friendly but not intrusive. The ambience e.g. music and atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely return, but would really ask the management to speak to the management at the Broadway Hotel, so they can learn from them. Thanks for a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Beautiful restaurant with a lovely relaxed and romantic atmosphere. Taster menu was beautifully cooked and was exciting as the courses just kept coming. The cheeseboard was "Amazing" fantastic for cheese lovers out there. The staff were attentive and made it feel very special. All in all a lovely evening, great food and would defiantly recommend it for a special night out.

We enjoyed a special evening meal here for our wedding anniversary. We had the £42.50 'four course' dinner which was absolutely delicious - we were both delighted with our choices which were beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and careful to describe the dishes to us, they topped up our water without us needing to ask and were friendly and courteous. It is a lovely restaurant with a pleasant ambience and quite busy even on a Tuesday evening in April. The only criticism I would have is that we had to wait a while to get into the car park because the receptionist wasn't answering her phone to let us in!

We had a drink in the bar before going through to the restaurant via the Brasserie. It was a really nice room with a very good atmosphere and we were glad we had dressed for the occasion. All the food from the dinner menu was superbly cooked and presented and worthy of the price. Service in the restaurant was OK but small things like remembering who had ordered each dish would make it special! A really nice evening but spoilt a little by penny pinching on the bar drinks...15 pound for an espresso martini that included an additional service charge. Simply not justified.

The Mulberry is hidden away in the charming Manor Hotel in Moreton, through the bar and then though their Brasserie, but worth the journey! We dined on a Saturday night with their set four course menu (@£42per head) but note you get to choose three of them, with a fourth 'pre dessert' taster defined by the chef. In reality it's actually five courses on that basis as there was also a pre starter taster, but all stunningly presented. As is often the case, the service let the restaurant down and on this occasion it was the only reason I wouldn't rate the Mulberry at 5 stars. Firstly. when the waiter brought over our mains he asked who was having the pork, then grunted and made the noise 'oink'... that's a first (!) and on reflection quite hilarious but couldn't be more out of place in a setting like this. Secondly when asking for my jacket another member of the team asked which table number we had been based on but no one had told us and at this class of restaurant the tables aren't numbered. Looks of disdain and comments of complaint by that young lady when we didn't know. Overall though putting those service blemishes to one side, the Mulberry kitchen team make a visit well worthwhile, stunning food.

Visited Mulberry as seemingly the best restaurant in Moreton-in-Marsh, as a group of four. We had the 8-course tasting menu and wine flight. What I enjoyed: the food was very good, well presented, and clearly accomplished. The room was nice, good acoustics. Waiters were personable and chatty when engaged. The tasting menu was very well paced and portion-size spot-on. Cheese cart at table-side always a good touch!A few minor issues that didn't spoil the meal in any way: head-height candles on the table are very off-putting when no one can see their dining companion opposite! Glassware for wine flight was poor - heavy plain glass; would have been more enjoyable in a quality vessel. We were given the wrong wine flight, but charged accordingly, so not an issue. Waiters invariably announced their presence with a demanding 'excuse me' whilst still 3 strides away - I wonder if this is their training? It can be quite jarring and intrusive! A few ingredient substitutions from the kitchen were clearly unnoticed or unknown by waiting staff and announced incorrectly. So a few quibbles, but food very enjoyable. Only issue to mention, which was satisfactorily resolved, was a very dilute/ watery negroni as aperitif. The barman was evasive and when politely asked about it, and the exchange was frustrating and quite embarrassing. However, pre-dinner drinks comp'd on bill, which was appreciated and a welcome touch.

I can't tell you how good this place is. The ambiance, food and service we experienced were all impeccable. I would recommend everything I had and everything my partner had also - all the food was delicious. There were more than a few standout dishes, but the Brown Bread Parfait with Red Wine Sorbet was the winner. What a dessert. The waiters were all excellent and even bought over a small taste of a dish that I had 'ummed and arrred' about ordering! The whole evening was very special. I would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat.,

Food not exceptional. Very good service. I did expect more and felt the level of skill was very good but the flavours were not great and some courses were not even warm when they arrived.

A small (4 people) celebration warranted a visit to the Mulberry Restaurant at the Manor House Hotel. In a delightful room off the bar and brasserie area the atmosphere created is excellent and with attentive and professional staff all augered well for a superb night. The wine list was good and for the quality of restaurant not expensive. The menu was not extensive but it would be unlikely that anyone would be stuck without a choice. We got a little confused with the pricing - seemingly a four course set price of £42-50, but only 3 obvious courses offered. On enquiry, we were told that the Amuse Bouche and the Pre-Dessert were the other course and they would 'just arrive'. This seemed a little strange at the time and remains so.The reason for our 4 stars and not the 5 we really wanted to give was that on each of the three courses, (we discount the mystical 4th where the Amuse Bouche was frankly over seasoned and the Pre-dessert so small that tasting anything was beyond our pallettes), the cooking just missed the mark. For example, the scallop starter was drowned in a tasteless foam wholly unnecessarily, the rabbit portion when extracted from quite a strong pasta was tiny and inadequate and the chocolate and beetroot dessert had moments of greatness (the beetroot sorbet) with moments of not very good (the chocolate used was not of great quality or taste). So whilst the whole experience was very good, it just missed greatness overall in our view by a lack of attention to detail. We shall visit again but on a 'routine' basis rather for anything 'special' for which there are better alternatives within easy driving distance.

It is rare to discover places which offer vegetarian tasting menus, but the Mulberry is just such a place. This is a restaurant of great quality and the tasting menu was very good. Of particular note was the cheese course, a superb range of cheeses, several local, served with fruit, fruit cheeses, fig and nut cake and a truly intensely flavoured truffle honey. Service is superb, everyone being highly professional and friendly, not stuffy. Anton, our main waiter for the evening was excellent, exemplifying how to provide attentive and anticipatory service and still remaining discreet. Well done to the Manor House Hotel, this is how to run a wonderful restaurant.

A 3 course mal for £42.50 each plus wine etc. good choice but the main course is a huge plate of meat , mine was burnt but carefully placed with burnt side down. meat was dry - certainly not great. The restaurant was very hot and very busy. I think they had taken too many at the same time which meant the kitchen was just too busy. We choose cheese but told it would take 30 mins so would we like to changer selection to another sweet! Not a great experience ..... they did give us our money back but can't recommend for a special occasion as money back doesn't give you your anniversary meal back.

We were visiting Moreton in Marsh for just a night away, and luckily stumbled across this place. On arrival you are seated for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles in the bar, and shown the menu so your order can be ready when you are ready to be seated in the restaurant. We went for the 4 course dinner, and each course was excellent. I had the rabbit ravioli and my significant other the grouse. My partner is gluten free, and this really was not a problem, and they catered for this without any fuss. They even have a separate Gluten free dessert menu, which had lots of choice.I went for the cheese board as a dessert and wow what a cheese board! So much choice, and utterly delicious. It was quite pricey, but you get what you pay for and this is definitely worth it.Will be planning a return visit soon.

The food at the Mulberry was excellent. Beautifully presented and served with panache. I would judge this to be close to Michelin one star standard. The wine list is good and not unduly expensive by the standards of similar restaurants. The most spectacular aspect of the meal was the "cheese board" chosen by one of our party as a sweet. The "board" is actually a vast tray with an astonishing range of cheeses to choose from. The lady serving us really came into her own when she started identifying and describing the cheeses for us! A real experience.

We were coming to the end of almost a month's holiday in our motorhome and wanted somewhere special for our last evening away meal. Searching Trip Advisor for the most expensive restaurants brought up details of the Mulberry and when I'd investigated and discovered that they offered an eight course tasting menu with an option of matching wines our choice of restaurant was made. The environment was relaxing and the service was very attentive. The food and its presentation was very good but as a tasting menu, we thought that some of the courses were too large and in consequence, by the end of the meal we were struggling to finish it all. For example, one course contained an entire round of goats cheese that could have been divided between two and have made a more appropriate sized serving. If you have big appetites, maybe the portion sizes won't be an issue for you but we'd have preferred finishing feeling that we could still eat more rather than feeling over full.A course worthy of mention was onion soup, smooth, creamy and very tasty with onion oil, beautifully served with a baton laid out with delicate slices of spring onion and dots of puree. As regards the wines, they did each match their courses well but were of average quality. It felt obvious that they had been selected on price (keeping it down) rather than on quality. As the wine flights were £25 per person maybe a slightly higher price with better wines would have generated a better compliment to the meal. To summarise, we enjoyed the evening but next time will eat and drink a la carte.

We visited this restaurant twice on our recent stay at the hotel. On both occasions we were treated like very special diners - nothing was too much trouble. The food is beautifully presented and delicious, over the two nights we had the sweetbreads, the scallops and the haddock to start; followed by the rabbit, grouse and beef. All these dishes are tasty and the attention to detail in the presentation is superb. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend dining here, but a suggestion to the management would be the introduction of some subtle background music, on both our visits the restaurant wasn't full and therefore quite quiet so people were whispering to avoid making too much noise!

We purchased the summer sparkle deal which included a glass of bubbly pro secco and a 4 course dinerThe welcome to the restaurant was very warming and you felt you were in for something special , the servers or waiters both Hungarian (I believe )went out if their way to make you welcome and to minutely describe very dish or wine that we had.The food was superb and to have each course described and sometime it was suggested that it was the waiters favourite course or dish ( albeit it may be some great salesmanship) made you feel happy that you had chosen it.it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience , we had been to several other hotels in this Cotswold chain , this was the best we are ever had.We will most certainly be going back , the sooner the better .

Having taken a Sunday trip to the Cotswold, we ambled through Moreton in Marsh (accidentally)as it seemed a lovely quaint village with a wonderful atmosphere to it - we did not know where we were, just a good Country drive. We decided to have a lunch there. My Wife, Mother in Law (yes, I am a brave boy) and yours truly. We wandered into the Mulberry Restaurant in the Manor Hotel and it was pretty full. I spoke to the manager with not much hope and he came back in a few minutes and said - come this way Sir. Wow, what great service and amazing attitude. The food was amazing and the staff we on the ball with a great sense of humour. The setting is tranquil and loads of open space. We have just booked to go and spend a weekend there. Well done.

We were on a special package which included two dinners in this restaurant - Wow !!Food is exceptional in every way - ingredients are married together, which you would not consider pairing, are absolutely delicious ! Presentation of their dishes are a delight to behold - quality, well cooked, and the ingredients of the dish are explained to you too. Both the Duck Egg in Mushroom Consomme and the Chicken Parfait in Orange Jelly starters were most unusual, but superb. Mains - Bream with Tomato Salsa & Green Gazpacho, the two Beefs dish, the Duck Breast and the Lamb combinations were also exceptional and delicious. Loved the Pre-Desserts we were served, especially the Limoncello with Popping Candy !! Dining in this restaurant has a special ambiance. Staff are really attentive and efficient, friendly, yet not obtrusive. Everything we ate we thoroughly enjoyed, as we particularly like to taste and try new flavours - what a superb restaurant !! I highly recommend anyone to dine here.Thank you to all at The Mulberry Restaurant.

This restaurant is situated in The Manor House hotel and is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! On booking. . .I was asked if we had any dietary requirements and being a vegetarian I informed them of this. On arrival I was presented with the vegetarian dinner menu (in 25 years of searching the main menu in a restaurant for even one suitable dish... this was amazing!) There was a 4 course dinner option or a 6 course tasting menu. There were 3 choices of starter and 3 choices of main! Between us we tried 4. Each dish was delicious! The service was simply fantastic! This is not a 'veggie' restaurant but as the Maitre d' explained any dietary requirements were treated equally. A vegetarian, vegan, celiac or gluten free diet could be catered for with finesse and style! I have included photos to show how attractive each dish was and they tasted even better! We will definitely be back to stay next time and eat here again! We were delighted to hear that if you were staying at the hotel and happened to eat in the restaurant for more than two nights the chef would ensure another 2 vegetarian options would be added to the menu! This is unheard of! Well done to all the staff at this gem of an establishment in the Cotswolds!

This is a really welcome, beautifully renovated addition to the area. A warm and friendly local with stone walls and open fires. Food is very good, modern pub style at a very reasonable price for The Cotswolds. Staff are very friendly and efficient and the clientele are a great combination of locals at the bar, people eating and walkers, cyclists etc calling in for a pint. Been several times since it reopened and all have been good.
