Worst take away in Waltham Abbey.... The chicken korma tasted of cheese and the naan was soaking wet. My husband had lamb madras which he said tasted more like her jerk chicken with washing up liquid.... The place looks fancy but it's all show

Ordered a takeaway last night and was excited to try a new Indian restaurant and a new dish. The excitement was short lived. We was told the order would be 45 minutes. The rest of my family wanted to call after about an hour but I said no give them the benefit of the doubt and after a long hour and 20mins I was starting to get annoyed too. My partner called and they apologised and said it was on its way and would be 10mins. A further 20mins later we still hadn’t received our order so I decided to call again and see what had happened. The first person I spoke to aggressively told me on the phone that it was on its way and hung up on me. At this point we decided that we wouldn’t have the takeaway so I called them back. The second person on the phone was very apologetic and advised the order was on its way out of the door which I questioned why was I just told it was on its way then? They said they would give a discount of 20% and at this point I was so hungry and also angry at their customer service I said that I wasn’t happy with this but we would take the order. I then got passed on to a manger and from the sounds of things they had door numbers muddled up and was also asking us if we had ordered through just eat so I really don’t think anyone there had a clue what was going on as we had ordered direct. I do believe when we made the first call they had forgotten our order and was only just sending it out then. And to be honest I would’ve been happy if they admitted their mistake and apologised rather than continuing to give us false information. The manager then said to me when you order in future we will give you a discount. To which I told him I would never order from them again. Someone then knocked on the door to turn around and say I think I’ve got the wrong order and then walked away. He was back shortly after and we sat down to eat a good 2 hours after our first phone call. The portion sizes were smaller than I am used to in Indians (probably my hunger of waiting so long didn’t help this). The food wasn’t actually too bad when it came but definitely not worth a 2 hour wait and the absolutely dreadful customer service. All in all if there’s one thing I would advise from this experience.... don’t bother!!!

Went for a quick bite here on the way home from Stanstead airport. The service was a bit hectic and nobody seemed to quite know what they were doing, all passing jobs off to each other rather than just taking an order or taking the payment themselves. Food came quickly and the poppadoms and naan bread were great (especially the Naan) the curry tasted nice but wasn't the best I've eaten, the chicken was a bit gristly and chewy in the chicken tikka masala. Not bad but could do better!

We ordered a meal for delivery from this restaurant. We were told it would take 45 minutes to an hour. After an hour and a quarter, we called and were told that several orders had come in at the same time and they were struggling to keep up, they put the phone down on me after telling me the driver was on the way. I called again after an hour and 35 minutes and was told that the driver had the wrong postcode (even though the code was read back to me correctly at the time of the order). They sounded confused so I offered to call in to pick the food up. I arrived two minutes later and the food came from the kitchen, not from a delivery car. I must point out that by the time I received the food, nearly two hours had elapsed.I was told the food was hot and was offered a cheap bottle of wine to compensate us for the inconvenience. When I got the food home, it was not hot and the main dishes had spilled in the container.Having not eaten for 8 hours I couldn't be bothered to go back and delay eating even further. Before we ate this cold meal I called the restaurant persistently but they didn't even pick the phone up. I tried several times again to no avail. This ruined our evening - don't order if you're very hungry.... maybe try ordering when you not at all hungry and you might be served when you're ravenous...We're not picky and don't make a hobby of crafting critical reviews over minor issues..Good luck!

Great restaurant, probably the only indian restaurant in waltham abbey that could fit all 40 odd of us comfortably. Food here was amazing, the best indian food in town by far. Friendly staff and the owner is a laugh. Since the reopening, i've been a regular here and it hasn't failed me once. The manager was happy to sort out good price per head for our reservation and the free round of drinks at the end topped the night.Great food, great service and great value :)

We have been eating here and ordering takeaways for the 10 years we have lived in Waltham Abbey. Always been happy with delivery times and quality of food. Not sure what's happened recently, but we waited nearly 2 hours for our food to be delivered, which is really unusual. Called a couple of times to be told it was on its way and would be with us in 15 minutes. Finally arrived, along with a free bottle of wine and a dessert which sadly didn't placate us much! And then, as I was tucking into my chicken biryani, I found a huge spike bone (shaped like a wish bone)Fully understand that small bones may slip past the chef, but this was not small! Very dangerous and put me off the rest of my dinner.I'd like to think these 2 things were one offs. But loathe to risk it.They also don't take credit cards for payment for deliveries, which they did, before all the changes that have taken place over the last few months...........

My friend and i visited the Muhinur tandoori house last sunday for the first time. It opens at 1pm on sunday for the buffet. We like to eat early so got there for 1pm. The buffet wasnt ready but we were given a warm welcome by the waiters. We told them no rush. We were given our pompadoms plus dips while they set about bringing out the dishes for the buffet. Once again we told them no rush and altho we were the only ones there at that time they still put on the full buffet for us. And boy was it lovely couldnt fault a thing. The onion bhajis were lovely and crispy and the samosas crispy and piping hot. Same with all the other dishes. Piping hot too. Overall the meal was excellent couldnt fault a thing. So if your in the visinity why not give it a try. For the price its realy good value for money. Including 2 cokes bill came to £22. Realy cheap for a sunday meal. We will definatly be going back.
