I selected The Mug House for my retirement party at end April 2024 for around 100 people, and booked most of the space. It worked very well. Ollie, the manager, was really helpful in helping plan the evening with advice about spend on drink and food, and helping with the menu choices for the evening. All the staff were amazingly helpful on the night, and made the evening a real success. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Mug House for an event of this kind... or for a casual drink at any time. I have used The Mug House lots of the years, and have always enjoyed my time there.

The wine tasting was great fun and would highly recommend, massive shout out to James and Olly whose knowledge and humour were great, thanks guys you made our day. We ate afterwards at the same place and the food was very nice. All together we could have spent all day in this place and we will be back for sure.

Hidden away under the road onto London Bridge this is an pub with character in it's style and selection of drinks. One of only a few places that you can get Davy's celebrated old wallop, by the pint or a 4 pints jug. The lighting and vaulted ceilings make it very atmospheric. It's position, just off the beaten track, keeps it not too busy at lunchtime making the service excellent.

Throughout the planning and the night itself, all the staff we came into contact with went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. A pub for pub people. A great little tucked away drinking hole under the inimitable London Bridge. Surprisingly friendly patrons for a central London boozer, everyone is happy to raise a glass and smiles come easy. Some might find it a little rustic with uneven floors and a couple of door says to duck through, but it all adds to the authentic charm of the place. Pull up a chair, enjoy a local pint, and witness the history around you.

The name of this place must be more to do with the mugs they serve in. Rather than what goes in them. Sign outside says Ale House. They had ONE ale on tap. And it was so bad I left half a pint. Their guinness is terrible and they can't pour it well. This would make a great actual ale House. Building and location wise. But it's more for suits doing corperate wine testing. And eating that food they smear on plates.

I was trying to find somewhere to take two of my colleagues visiting from Germany that was a bit different and this was perfect. Once you found it (head for the london bridge experience and it's just past on the right) hidden away it was lovely, a great Davy's wine bar with real charm and a great wine list by the glass and the bottle. We had dinner in the restaurant at the back and the service and food was brilliant, i had the sausage and mash with madiera gravy...(which was epic), my colleagues had the special of the day fish and chips which was hake and really enjoyed it. We shared the charcuterie and cheese board as a starter and the gents had the sticky toffee pudding to finish which they both loved. Really good service, lovely atmosphere and great food will definitely be back.

Beneath the grand arches of London Bridge, lies The Mug House pub – it's a portal to a bygone era. Stepping inside is like stepping back in time, with its oak-panelled walls, old furniture, and antique curios adorning every corner. The warm candlelight and low hum of conversation create an atmosphere that's both inviting and intimate. The Mug House boasts a rich history dating back to the 18th century, and it oozes charm from every brick. The menu at The Mug House is a celebration of classic British fare, with hearty dishes like bangers and mash, roast beef, and fish and chips gracing the pages. Whether you're looking for a cosy corner to curl up with a good book, a lively atmosphere for drinks with friends, or a hearty meal, The Mug House has something for everyone. It's the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of London and unwind in a truly unique and historic setting.

Fantastic hidden pub / wine bar. I didn’t realise when I booked that it was a Davy’s chain. It has all the perks of a unique venue, with the extensive food and wine list of a Davy’s. I also saw traditional pewter tankers being used for some of the ales. The place is vast, a snug casual bar area at the front that then extends into a dining area at the back. There’s a very cute room tucked away that you can book for a group of five or six. Even with us being hidden away, service was attentive.

We have been going to this Davy's for many years - it's a great space but pre-pandemic at least it would get really crowded, e.g. on a Friday evening. Instead we went for a late lunch on a Monday after we were told that their "Mix and Mash" deal was on offer until the end of the month. When we got there, we were told the deal had ended but because of what we'd been told they gave us the equivalent. And what a great meal it was! Very tasty sausages and mash and veges plus nice wine. And the service was unbeatable. A real treat and we'll definitely go back - with or without any deals!

My wife and I were at the Mug House today for a rose wine tasting and lunch. I’m a red wine and beer guy and not normally a fan of rose wine. I’ve been on a few tasting experiences before and I’m normally underwhelmed. Well, I got it wrong this time. The wines were all lovely, the presentation of them by Ollie was great and the meal was so much better than I’d anticipated. It was a proper well prepared lunch, not a few nibbles to accompany the wines and the sales pitch. I learned a lot about wine, we sat with a really interesting and friendly couple and just had a great experience. I also bought a jeroboam of rather nice rose and nursed it all the way back to Surrey on the train. I’d love to go back there and thanks to everyone at the Mug House.

I've wanted to review this since December when we had dinner with friends here (for some reason the system would not let me access this pub to review!) It's not much from outside but inside is another story...my husband loved the bar area and we all loved the restaurant section. The place was pretty loud when we arrived so they put us in a lovely private room, but as it had glass surrounds you could enjoy the whole room, just a little quieter. I had the vegetable en croute and it was one of the best en croute anything I'd ever had. My husband's sausage and mash was definitely a cut above the usual and our guests really enjoyed their meals too. The staff were exceptional; warm, funny, knowledgeable and so well trained. What can I say. You have to get your own menu and cutlery. Order at the bar. Food makes absolutely no sense. Spare ribs floating in some kind of gravy. Other meats were also tough. In itself a nice location on the water, but you really shouldn't eat anything here. At most get a beer.

Absolutely packed with middle-aged men, if that’s your thing this place is for you. Very crowded inside and out.

Brilliant pub with great staff, in particular Shane. Delicious mulled wine too!

Excellent service quality, food is fresh, good in portions and well balanced in taste, atmosphere is a bit noisy (at least for me).
