We had come for a 21st birthday meal of 10 people and had booked a table in advance. When we walked in, the manager greeted us and we explained our table booking he then proceeded to faff about trying to find a table for us to sit because they didn’t reserve one before we came, we didn’t get seated till around 15 minutes after we entered the place. We ordered at the bar and waited half an hour with no sign of our food, where we then went up to ask how long the food was going to be. The waitress then said 45 minutes to an hour wait on food from when we ordered- firstly we were not told this when we ordered and secondly if we did know, we would not have stayed as we had somewhere to be. We finally got our food after an hour and 10 minutes of waiting however half the food order was wrong and half of our table received their food and finished eating before the other half even got theirs. So we asked the manager for any type of compensation for the royal mess up and he proceeded to say he can do us a round of drinks but not any drink… just beer. We declined because we had to leave asap. He refused to give us any type of refund and then proceeded to argue with one of my friends when we explained how it took ages for them to find us a table that we had pre booked for and he said we were sat straight away when we were not. Long story short the manager was extremely rude and was not understanding of the situation so next time you should tell your customers if there is any type of wait on food and maybe re look at your refund policy because I think we should have got at least half compensation back OR have a drink that’s not beer? The waitress at the bar was lovely and accommodating however but there was nothing she could do to rectify the situation. We understood it was a busy restaurant and it was a lovely interior and decent food but really bad service and quite frankly ruined our afternoon.

Well located and very historical inn just opposite Borough Market and close to London Bridge Station - plenty of seating in the various bars each side of the large court yard. Seemed to be fairly busy even on a weekday afternoon. We ate upstairs in the main restaurant area, with table service, but apparently you could eat anywhere, although this really wasn't very clear and we found the whole building quite complicated to know where was best for what. Food was reasonable quality and fairly priced for the area - around £12-15 per main course. My wife had the duck hash while I had a pie, both of which were very enjoyable. Several real ales on tap, but the downstairs bar we went to was so busy it was impossible to see what other real ales were on offer. We would certainly return if in the area.

A good lunch but they do need to sort a couple of things out, considering it's such a high-profile location and "deserves" to have a good reputation - 1. Coffee machine bust so no coffee available upstairs! 2. Men's loo upstairs didn't even have a loo seat. Things like that are pretty basic - it's the 21st century 😩 Staff upstairs were friendly and attentive though - certainly no criticism there.

The food was great, although not a lot of vegetarian options, which isn’t ideal. But the smoked mushrooms curry was delicious and the roasted cabbage the best I ever had! The sandwich (meat) and Mac and cheese were also quite good and overall it was a good experience - we walked in without a booking and were sat immediately! Only downside, we ordered a beer that was really odd (flat, irony, it seemed very off) and asked to change it and we were charged for it as the bartender said it was its regular taste - if you know you have something that odd on your menu maybe let people know!

I ate Sunday Lunch here with a friend and we both found it disapointing. I'd echo the previous comments that the service was friendly but slow. We both thought the food should have been a lot better. The beef was overcooked and the roast potatoes were very poor. They came out hard, shrivelled and chewey. They were truly awful. The plates were stone cold so it all went cold before you could finish it. It wasn't a pleasant experience.

I've came back here after 7 years and it is still a mythical place. The bad thing is that I had a reservation for lunch 15 days in advance, but when we´had just got there, a lady (not very friendly) told me that there was a delay of more than an hour in the kitchen... she didn't even guarantee that we would be able to eat even if we came back later. So me and my family decided to go to the pub opposite (Coach House) where a very kind man solved my problems and guaranteed that he would have luch as soon as possible.... They are the same owners (both pubs) but the friendliness depends of people..... A suggestion, if there is a problem with the kitchen (these things happen) you can be nice and offer for free some drink or a snack while we wait with our kids. In the other hand, these man in the Coach House really knows how to be friendly.

Easily the worst roast I've had in my adult life. I didn't realise they served food like this outside of a school canteen anymore. Please do not go here. Security are disrespectful towards women. As a woman, I was completely and utterly shocked by how security treated me. It is not a safe environment. After telling a girl her body suit was undone I was accused of being too drunk, also, my boyfriend. We were not. We were in a group of about 15 of whom had maybe drank more than us. When asking security for the manager, they refused. When asking for security badge numbers they also refused. One security guard shoved myself and my boyfriend and preceded to threaten him to take him down an alley. Is this a way ‘security’ who are there to ‘protect us’, are meant to act? I tried to contact the venue but could not find a phone number to call to report. As an individual who works in the hospitality industry, I am shocked by this behaviour. No one should EVER treat an individual in this way. They should show their badge or bring the manager if situations cause concern. Please think about who you have on your doors as this is not safe/right. I will never return to this place, word has been spread to my friends/family working and living nearby. I hope to hear from someone soon, or, at least, see some improvement on staff. Thanks.

Staff were great, nice food but the toilets were awful. 2 out of three blocked, 1 overflowing

Beautiful building! Was a bit complicated to order because it was very crowded and you need to order the food at the bar where also 30 other people were trying to do the same thing, but overall we had a lovely evening.

Such a lovely space, not sure why a diet coke from the tap needs to cost £4.05 though..not even a pint, a branded glass. I was shocked, I wouldn't have been a patron if I had known.

Beautiful, historic building. Nice place to go for a drink or even food and feel history coming to life all around you. The food was quite good for pub standard; we had sunday roasts and the signature slow cooked pork. Also, there is a good selection of ales and beers. The only issue we had was that a person in our group had an allergy and it was impossible to get through the waitress about it....she kept on insisting that she is not allowed to disclose the ingredients and/or ask the chef even, which was very strange. The only option was to go on the app and good luck if you make any sense of the allergy info there...in the end my friend didn't eat (thankfully was not starving) and we left as soon as the rest of us finished our food in order to go somewhere else to continue instead of spending more time there...

I must say that staff was very kind and helpful. St the same time, it was the only positive feeling from the visit. Very expensive without real justification. But people pay as did I. I won't come back
