Muffin Break in Medway

Went in for lunch with a friend. We ordered cheese and onion toasties, a tea and a chocolate shake. The food took a long time to arrive. We had been given a number - the poor woman wandering around the restaurant with our tray of food has a different number on the receipt and we watched her try and serve it to several tables before putting it back on the tray and looking around in confusion. The toasted sandwiches had so little filling they both looked like two pieces of very thin, cheap bread that had spent a minute in a warm toaster. Mine had lots of onions, but very little cheese. It looked unappetising. A toasted sandwich is such a simple thing to make, and they clearly are not up to it. I returned it and it took so long to process the refund I had no time to drink my tea, so got a take out cup. This used to be a really good place for lunch with good sandwiches and nice cake. The staff they have now cannot even match the number they write on the order to the number they give you for your table. I'm giving 2 stars because apparently the chocolate shake was nice. Don't waste your time or your money. Go to Latinos instead.

Cleanliness and friendly staff and service. I ordered a cappuccino and berry toastie with butter, and it was fresh crunchy and tasty. Mostly of all I loved the smiley face that was at the end of my cup and that made my day after hard working day at work. Thank you at the Chatham branch in the Pentagon Mall.

Needed a quick break from shops. Muffin break took my fancy ordered large Latte and Apple and Cinnamon Muffin. Latte was just warm muffin had 2 small pieces of apple and hardly any cinnamon taste. Top was dry and middle was very doughy and heavy. Probably a no go.

Food and drink very decent, comfy chairs. Service is adequate, nothing more. More banter and manners towards customers would be better.

Popped in with a family member for lunch and coffee. As we found a table I went to use the toilet. It was absolutely vile and you could see nothing had been cleaned for months. There was actually urine splashes on the wall near the toilet and the sink, tap, bin and hand dryer were filthy. As we sat and had lunch a member of staff left the kitchen area and went in to use the toilet. She was wearing her apron and had a tea towel hanging from her apron as well. These were worn as she went into the filthy toilet and were still worn when she came out and went back to the kitchen. Never will I visit this place again.

Ordered 1 medium caramel latte, 1 chocolate caramel frappe, 2 warmed up fudge brownie slices qith cream, was given 1 small ordinary latte and a latte frappe, sent back, recieved the right order after a while, then the fudge brownies turned up 5 mins after, cold and no cream,terrible service, wont go there again!

went into the muffin break with my friends today for some late lunch and usually its good service but today they made up excuses to over charge me and the food wasn’t that great either. i ordered a slice of cake, that was so dry, i might as well eaten sand and it tasted really bad. i also got a milkshake, which was £3.50, but they charged me for a frappe, £3.90 and then proceeded to charge me an extra 30p for cream, even though on the menu it says it comes with cream. i queried one of the staff members about this and they said the manager had made the prices higher due to covid. which was a complete lie because i literally ate in there the day before and didn’t get charged extra. the customer service was so rude and definitely wont go in there again.

Great service ordered at counter terrible served at table some of the bigger chains could learn from this.

Took forever to give the food and muffin was dry! They forgot to give my panini and I had to remind the lady to give it. They then saw that half of the panini contents had spilt into the toaster so had to make a new one!

Have been here several times. The latte coffee is delicious also the bacon roll. A bit too pricey tho'

I don't mind paying about £7 odd for a cup of tea and an egg & bacon roll, if the quality is good. For that price, I could have walked 2 minutes and got a foot long and tea from subway. The quality was not worth the price. It wasn't a roll as advertised. They toasted the crusty side of the end slice of a loaf of bread and the inside was soggy as if it had just come out of the microwave. Then the egg had no yoke, the white was not appetising and the bacon was cooked but could have done with a bit longer on the fryer as it was chewy. Didn't even have any butter! I've seen better quality in random burger vans on the Isle of Sheppy, and their price was far better! For what I received here, I wouldn't expect to pay more than £1.50 for that kind of quality and that's being generous! DO NOT EAT HERE!

Visited here today for the first time with a friend. I made the mistake of ordering a sausage roll which was quite unpleasant. The pastry was chewy because it had been microwaved and unfortunately I also found it too spicy. I have had an upset stomach since. For a place that calls itself a muffin break I expected a larger variety of muffins. The lack of choice made me choose a sausage roll unwisely. I did not find the service to be very good I would have expected to be offered napkins and not have to ask for them when ordering food.. As others have mentioned it is quite pricey I will not be returning.

been a couple of times, nice coffee and good choices for eating, but can be a little pricey but then guess rates in the Pentagon Centre require it to pay the rent!

This is our regular coffee place. Ahmed makes a lovely latte and it’s the only place where you can get an extra hot beverage as per request. Great selection of muffins. The service is excellent.

Visited today for the first time with my family... food looks amazing but £2.50 for a sausage roll is unbelievable. For a family of 2 adults and a 4 year old our visit cost £19 for 2 sausage rolls, a sandwich, a cake and 2 drinks... Staff are friendly and on point but took one staff member 5 minuets to realise the whip cream was empty and looked confused as to where she should get more. If you have plenty of money for a quick lunch please do visit, however you can get double the food for the price at greggs

I tried muffin break for the first time today and was not disappointed! I came here with my partner and two children. We ordered their sausage rolls, Brownie, chorizo, chicken and mozzarella panini and Choc chip muffin shake.We were welcomed by a friendly member of staff who was very patient with us in ordering (with a very indecisive 4 year old) which made us feel at ease. The food was delicious and we were offered for our sausage rolls to be heated which we needed! All I can say is yum yum yum! The place was clean and calm atmosphere. It was just the perfect choice and Deffo will be returning.All in all two sausage rolls, a panini, a huge Brownie and two muffin shakes came to just under £20. And was definitely worth it.I would 100% recommend muffin break for a quick bite and drink.

I had lunch here last week & I was really impressed. I had a mocha & a flatbread with chicken. The mocha was lovely & the sandwich was freshly made and tasty.The service was good & the whole atmosphere was very relaxing. Everywhere was very clean and the seating very comfortable. I will definitely have lunch or just a coffee & cake here again.

My friend and I were immediately drawn to Muffin Break due to its tasteful decor and clean environment. It was a welcome change to the rest of the Pentagon! It's seating area is very spacious and the food is of a good quality.

Bumped into this whilst walking through the shopping centre. A very clean and tidy place that has a great selection of sweet and savoury food. Staff are very friendly and get orders sorted quickly. A very good addition to Chatham.

Nipped in for a quick break in the lunch-hour. Theme seems to be that the Muffins are very fresh and they certainly taste like it. Interesting variety of flavours. Service all behind the counter was good especially the manager who had a customer friendly attitude. Would have given higher rating but for us the coffee was blend as much too strong.

This is a new cafe in the Pentagon shopping centre which offers a good range of muffins and coffees and some good savoury options.

Newly opened family friendly cafe in the Pentagon Shopping Centre that serves a variety of mainly cold food but some can be warmed up. Good selection of hot or cold drinks and they also have a reward card.
