The Three Crutches in Medway

I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I feel that there are areas that need to be improved. Firstly, our order was taken, but then someone had to come back and clarify what we wanted. Secondly, we got Wine that we hadn't asked without explaining they didn't have the one we did want and lastly the mains arrived before the dishes from the starters had been taken.

Hearty menu, Large garden, Friendly staff, Dog friendly, Family atmosphere, Reasonably priced, Ample parking. Activities throughout the year, live music, Christmas market, quiz nights etc.

Came here again today... The Three Crutches is an amazing venue... Rob was a great host, friendly and helpful. This pub has a huge rear garden with climbing frame and grass areas for the children... there are ample inside and outside tables... The inside eating areas have Plush comfy seating and even the bar stools are of high quality (photo) This pub / Restaurant was refurbished to an extraordinary high standards and Rob and his team have made sure it's kept in tip top condition... The pub is spotless throughout. Very popular with many of the locals and when I saw the beautiful food leaving the kitchen I decided to have lunch... The B.L T Sandwich I had was 2nd to none.... Amazing textures and flavours complimented with the chips, 5⭐️s The Three Crutches has a very large free carpark, Serves top class food and every member of staff was courteous and eager to help. This is a fantastic example of how pubs should be run... A very clean and comfortable place to enjoy some quality family time. Well worth a visit 😎

I just wanted to say the staff here are amazing ! Especially the women, they are kind, patient and helpful - there was an inconvenience with a traffic disaster and the cheif weren't available- however they cater to our needs to the best of their abilities and made us feel welcome!

We visited the Three Crutches this evening and had a superb experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting, and decor makes you feel at home. I had the pan fried salmon which was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. My partner had the mixed grill which was equally impressive. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. Thank you to Rob and all the team!

A great pub set in a beautiful location, great for kids with live music and party night, weekly quiz and also dog friendly.

Had an amazing meal on valentines night. Food was awesome and the manager Rob went above and beyond looking after us. Thank you Rob and the team will be back soon and cant't recommend this place enough

This was our 1st time visiting and unfortunately they had a heating problem which left us feeling rather cold despite having other heaters in there, but the food made up for it, delishious, plenty of options for meat lovers, I had the vegetable tart, theyre in the process of changing their menu in February and having a free meal evening for you to sample it. We're already booked to go somewhere else, shame as it would have been lovely to try out their new menu. We'll definitely go again, lovely friendy staff nothing was too much trouble. Prices were average compared to other places we've visited.

My daughter had her 50th birthday party in the Three Crutches on Saturday - what a fantastic pub. The manager and staff were so very friendly and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for her. The night was a great success - thank you so much!! We also ate there before the party started and the food was lovely.

We have been to The Three Crutches quite a lot recently, and it has been nothing short of fantastic. The midweek deal menu, and the Sunday roast, is a standout. The roast beef was absolutely amazing—cooked to perfection and full of flavuor. Unlike some places with limited options, The Three Crutches offers an impressive range on their menu, there's something for everyone. Their fresh pies are also a favourite! Beyond the food, the service at The Three Crutches is consistently brilliant. The staff are attentive and friendly, making each visit a pleasant experience. The young lad is so professional - he is an asset to them. The atmosphere inside is also so cosy. Overall, The Three Crutches is brilliant with excellent service that keeps us coming back.

Good quality pub grub , good selection and reasonable price drinks, £27 provence rose was very good. We where a table of 8 starters, main courses and desserts enjoyed by everyone. But what made the evening was the service, attentive, happy, friendly staff nothing was too much trouble. My son left his headphones behind and before we were home in the uber, we received a phone call to inform us, I returned the next day to pick them up. Lovely local pub, next time we visit our family will definitely return

Subject: Formal Complaint About Our Recent Dining Experience Dear [Restaurant Manager’s, I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the experience my group and I had at your restaurant during our recent visit. Unfortunately, several issues left us feeling dissatisfied and regretting our choice to dine at your establishment. 1. Preorders Not Fulfilled We were not informed that our preorders would not be fulfilled on the day of our visit. This lack of communication caused unnecessary confusion and frustration. 2. Starter Quality The bread served with our starter was rock hard and completely inedible. This is unacceptable and far from the quality we expected. 3. Main Course Issues The turkey was served cold, and the Brussels sprouts were undercooked and hard. This lack of attention to food quality was very disappointing, especially during what should have been a special meal. 4. Dessert Presentation and Service The dessert service was particularly disheartening. The ice cream arrived melted and was carelessly shoved onto the table, causing it to slide off. To make matters worse, it was not replaced, which reflects poor etiquette and a lack of basic customer service. Last Christmas, we dined at the Harvester, which offered better-quality food and service at a significantly lower price. Based on the reputation of your restaurant, we had high expectations for a memorable experience in a beautiful setting. However, we left feeling let down and as though we had been overcharged for subpar service and food. I hope you take this feedback seriously, as we expected much more from your establishment. Had the Christmas set menu. It was the best turkey dinner I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Everything was perfect and beautifully presented. My friends equally enjoyed their steaks. Service was very attentive. Great value. We’ll definitely be back in the new year.

Nice welcome and a good meal. They don't major on real beer but, they are catering to their market. Definitely go there again.

visited here for party with a set menu so i cant comment for normal dining. party of 20 people but the food all came out timely and fresh. chicken strips for starter, sausage n mash for main and sticky toffee pudding desert. all tasted freshly made to me. very nice experience.

Had a lovely time. Meals were very nice. Service was not rushed. Singer was there on our evening, was a little loud for the size of the room in my opinion.

we visited today and all I can say is WOW!!! we had the £12 lunch menu and I was surprised at the amount of food we got on our plates,I just couldn't finish it but it was delicious. Our waitress was soo friendly (sorry I didn't get her name but she had long dark hair) made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. THANK YOU SO MUCH. We will definitely be back soon.😊😊👍

Had lunch Monday lunchtime food and service were very good will be going again

This was our third visit in a month, and once again, the food was outstanding—especially the pie! On our most recent visit, the restaurant was quite busy, yet there was only one waitress, Natalie, handling the entire place on her own. Despite the crowd, she provided exceptional service with a positive attitude and even remembered us from our previous visit. Natalie truly sets this place apart—she deserves a raise!

Just returned after celebrating my husbands 50th birthday. The food was excellent & the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The service was amazing, I would advise anyone to go here, the place is so cosy and inviting, we will definitely be returning!

This was the first time me and my friend attended this pub under its new ownership. We were very pleasantly surprised with how the new ownership have completely changed the pub to have amazing food, great atmosphere and great staff who were not only very friendly and kind but were also very welcoming to me and my friend with our two dogs. I would highly recommend visiting this pub. Ignore the low reviews. Food portions are great and generous with delicious food. We actually struggled to decide what to have as the menu is filled with choices. I don't often leave reviews but this pub is somewhere I would highly recommend a visit!

My wife and I visited for lunch on the summer bank holiday Monday and booked beforehand in case they were busy. We found an outside table right away. Staff were very friendly and service was prompt. However we were not impressed with the food at all. I have a large appetite and opted for the half roast chicken whilst my wife went for scampi. The chicken was priced quite high at £18.50 but the actual meal was extremely disappointing. The chicken was lukewarm and appeared undercooked, although the meat appeared cooked. The appearance of the skin was unappealing and there was hardly any meat in what was supposed to be a half chicken. It was clearly microwaved and not befitting a £18.50 price tag! Likewise the chips were the supermarket style frozen variety of the sort you’d buy in Aldi. A lovely pub with a nice garden let down by the quality and/or price of the food.

Great wee recommendation, friendly and welcoming, good and tasty food, appeared understaffed, did wait a while to order and for the food to arrive, kids' portions bit meager, but reflected in the price, definitely will be back

Great food, atmosphere and beer garden. Sometimes have to wait for your food if they’re busy but worth the wait and probably my favourite thing about the place.

Lovely pub, never knew it existed. They had a screen up for football and the only thing that ruined the experience was a poor England performance.

Yet again we had a fantastic Sunday lunch. I had my family visiting and they all had a great meal - friendly staff. Thank you !

A great place to eat with a choice of smaller lunches as well as mains. Tried their new menu of seabass risotto this week, loved the delicate flavour of the risotto which complimented the seabass perfectly. Hubby had the crispy haddock fishcake which he said was very tasty. Can't wait to go again - oh don't have to we'll be back next week!

Having been a regular visitor to the Three Crutches over the last few years, my partner and I went again last night to try the new Spring Menu. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which were chosen from a mixture of traditional pub classics and some new very interesting and lovely additions. As usual, the food was all beautifully cooked and presented. Everything was very fresh and hot. Overall, the whole experience was excellent. The Three Crutches is a very well presented pub/restaurant which is friendly, comfortable, well decorated and furnished in a very welcoming fashion. All the staff are very friendly, helpful, professional and attentive. Rob has created a fantastic atmosphere and the ambiance is brilliant. Well done to Rob and all his merry band of staff. The new menu at The Three Crutches is a delight! Last night six of us visited and we all agreed our food was extremely tasty and combined with the great service, made a lovely evening. Owner Rob is always welcoming, going out of his way to ensure everyone is looked after and has a great time. If you haven’t already been, get there soon! It’s well worth a visit or two … or three.

I came up for lunch with my family and as soon as we walked in to the building we was greeted with smiles and seated to a table, it was very clean. Within a few minutes of being seated we were asked if we would like any drinks. Then soon after looking at the menu was asked what we would like to have to eat, they have released their new menu now and we decided to try it, we got the half roast chicken and skin on chips, the Mushroom, cheese and spinach potato frittata, alongside some bar snacks and starters to share, such as the carrot and coriander soup, lemon and herb chicken wings, and the sharing platter. The food was amazing and the service was excellent, I would highly recommend coming here! Just treated ourselves to some dessert too and had the new vanilla cheesecake, one of the best cheesecakes I have had!

Visited this pub today and the food was delicious. Got some vegan burgers which were really nice, atmosphere was nice and cosy very family friendly which was nice. The staff were all so polite and welcoming which really makes the difference. Plenty of parking. Will definitely be coming back

Great new staff team and food is so much better

It took ages for me and my partner to decide where we were going to take our family for lunch and we choose here. We were really looking forward to it, only to be put in the corner and forgotten about. It took 25mins for our drinks to come (one of them was wrong) and order our food. It then took a further 45mins for our food to come out. When we got our food it was just about warm. The fish was so greasy, my daughter had grease all over her plate and my other daughter had a burger that was greasy too. Two of our orders were wrong. I asked a member of staff if they was short staffed today and she replied no. So I then explained about the food and she had nothing to say. We didn't even get an apology. We will not be going here again.

The new landlord Rob has transformed the 3 crutches into a warm and welcoming hostelry. A group of 8 of us including 4 children had a delicious Sunday lunch. Despite living in the village for more than 20 years this is the first occasion we have been in for something to eat. Highly recommended!

First visit for a number of years. Decor had clearly been updated recently and felt fresh and clean, but still cosy. Will definitely become a regular again. Food was delicious, we both opted for a duo of meat Sunday Lunch, so tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive, and good selection of beers, ciders and ales.

I think current landlord is quite new, but whatever he's done has worked, dinner was superb and reasonably priced. Fair selection of beer as well

My partner ordered a mixed grill, when it turned up, there were chicken wings on the plate, no chicken, no onion rings and no peas, I had chicken wrap with minimal chicken inside and rock hard chips. We waited an hour to be served. To make matters worse they charged £2.10 for 2 splashes of blackcurrant, one of which wasn't put in the lager, and charged £2.50 fir a peppercorn sauce that my partner didn't want. Very poor

It's a nice pub but Halley's comet comes round quicker than the barstaff in the top bar. Focus is on the restaurant it seems. Which is a shame coz there's clearly regulars who don't want to abandon the pub.

The average score on Google does not truly represent the quality of food and drink at this out of town pub. Went there for lunch today and could not fault the food or drink. Scampi, shepherds pie and venison pie all delicious. Apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding for dessert were sumptuous. Ale on handpump was from Purity Brewery, a balanced traditional bitter, served correctly. We will definitely be back for more. Good luck to Rob and his professional team of staff for 2024!

Have been here a couple of times, one being a relatives wake. Service was A1.Food very tasty, accommodates for dietary needs Staff and atmosphere very welcoming and friendly. Pub allows dogs too. Would highly recommend a visit and we will be back ... Debbie and lan Walford

It was busy with a large Xmas party and we hadn't booked a table. However we were served quickly and the staff were attentive but my onion ring still had onion skin on it, my chips came in a chipped pot, and although the steak was cooked as requested I have had better tasting steak. Not sure I'll rush back, but may give it another go in a few months time, everywhere deserves a second chance.

Had a lovely meal from the Festive Fayre menu and we were made to feel very welcome. We will definitely return .

We needed a small intimate place to hold a wake after a simple funeral for a small gathering of approximately 20 people and this place was perfect. I had heard of this place but never actually been so was a little worried but I didn't need to be. The manager Rob was able to accomodate us despite having a busy restaurant for Xmas dinners in mid December. Nothing was too much trouble and the hot finger buffet was delicious and very reasonable in price. Booked last minute we could not have been happier with the whole experience that allowed a small family gathering to spend time together with good food drinks and a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be revisiting for meals and drinks. We'll done three crutches. 😁
