Muffin Break in Bexley

We are no longer local, we were up that way and passing by it seemed a nice place to grab a bite. Good choice too, lovely coffee. Friendly staff and cakes to die for. They got my order wrong, it wasn’t the end of the world and despite offers I declined their kind invitation to change it for what I did order. The incorrect order was delicious, as was their carrot cake. They were busy, we were served quickly and our order was delivered just as quick. I’ve been reading through some of the other reviews, particularly the bad ones and it doesn’t reflect the place I visited. The staff are friendly, attentive and very busy. The tables were clean and the place itself was clean tidy bright and welcoming. Five stars and a recommendation that you visit.

This place has gone down hill recently. The place is dirty. Dirty counter, dirty floors and I was handed dirty cutlery. During my visit a saw a few customers taking their cutley and plates back, for the same reason. Broken dishwasher? No hand gel for customer use. On top of that they stopped making waffles and pancakes. No explanation given. Staff attitude was ok, service reasonably quick.

I visited several times at muffin Break, bexleyheath and never disappointed. Muffins and cakes are fabulous. The coffee is best in the town. I would recommend this place to everyone to visit.

My daughter ordered a cappuccino with no chocolate as she is intolerant, The Staff after asking twice for this still served with chocolate!! When we asked for another one there was no sorry, the staff are so miserable and unfriendly, a smile goes a long way

Today I visited and queued as normal. There were 6 members of staff working behind the counter and non of them were focused on serving any customers. There was a lady playing at the till and when someone else noticed there was a queue forming they went up to serve the person behind me. I did point out I was first and was ignored, no apology or acknowledgment. Then the lady at the till decide to speak to another customer. I’m now sitting on Morley’s having a lovely lunch.

My family were racially abused by another customer & feared for their safety. Staff refused to move the perpetrators.

I visited yesterday with my family and was racially abused by a customer. My daughter has autism and was very distressed by this incident as was I. I asked a staff member for help and was told to ignore him and then asked to move tables leaving the racist couple to continue with their coffee. On speaking to the owner of the store I was told the couple was there first so moving me was the easiest way to resolve the situation. By removing me the victim I was shamed and led to feel the situation was my fault. It’s ok to be racist in muffin break if your there first

£4.60 for a ham and cheese toastie that contains one slice of thin ham, basically no cheese, bread was hardly toasted, dry as cardboard as no butter used. Patehtic.

I do really like this place. There’s a nice feel in here, I like the decor, the cups etc.... But the vegan options are really limited on a good day, and if you come in past midday they’re non existent. The staff said they sell out quickly and in the afternoon the option is a packet of crisps. If you know they sell out cook more. It’s not acceptable in this day and age to not have options for all. There are a lot of us vegans about !! Cafe Nero is a few doors away. There are sandwich options, cake and biscuit vegan choices. People will just go elsewhere.

Had to ask for the table to be cleaned after staff removed previous customers tray, during the 40 minutes in the shop, many tables were cleared but not one table was cleaned. They have definitely become COVID sloppy. No wonder the virus is rising.

You have to try the banana cake! The atmosphere is so lovely. Don't talk about the hot chocolate! The marshmallows and whipped cream gave it a scrumptious taste :) Friendly staff and great time to have lunch! Thank you Muffin Break team :D

This is a great addition to Bexleyheath. The service is good and cakes and muffins excellent I recommend it

Clean and well kept. Staff were smiley and polite. Service was very quick. We didn't have to queue for long.

Excellent addition to Bexleyheath. Plenty of room. Good food and coffee etc. Food is baked/cooked on the premises.

Usually pop in for the one vegan muffin on offer (delicious), however today I arrived back at work with a non vegan muffin. I called the branch and was advised to return the non vegan muffin and upon arrival was greeted with “did you ring about the bang muffin?” - when I went to speak I was handed the vegan muffin and handed over the non vegan muffin. Barista abruptly turned her back, no complimentary coffee or other sundry offered. Aside from ethical reasons, I have an autoimmune disease and have to avoid dairy- my waistline will thank me for avoiding Muffin Break in the future. Ignorance really is bliss!

Popped into the Muffin Break recently, heard that the muffins were delicious but as I wasn't won over, muffins tasted okay, staff were very friendly and helpful though

An average cafe but the food is overpriced. This cafe is better for consuming hot beverages. It was expensive.

They have good selection of food which includes gluten-free, dairy free muffin. The staffs are very friendly. The hot chocolate is delicious!!

Went in there on a Saturday plenty of room but had coffees toasties and muffins coffee ok toastie had hardly any filling in them, and the muffins was so dry the top was crispy so not impressed with the food plus it was expensive for what we had.

staff were friendly on arrival and ordered a salmon and cream cheese bagel and luxury hot chocolate and my friend had the fruit bread and latte. atmosphere was very relaxed in there and was left to chat with my friend easily. ordered another drink later as we were there for a few hours but staff didn’t rush us or make us feel like we had to order more. will definitely go back and maybe try one of the muffins next time.

My son and I stopped at Muffin Break for what can only be described as the most delicious cappuccinos and red velvet cake for my son and chicken pasta bake slice for me. The portions are incredibly generous. The staff were very friendly and the place had nice decor and a lovely ambience. I will definitely return.

This is a new place on high street, and was the first time I visited this restaurant to try out the specialist muffins.I had a choc chip muffin and my friend had a Cinnamon muffin. They were made fresh, and you could still feel the heat off them from the oven.I found the tables clean, the seat comfortable and a large gap between the tables, so that you can move, rather than try to put out as many tables and chairs as possible. This was a good experience and I intend to visit again soon.
