Muffin Break in Northampton

I did not actually go into this cafe but witnessed an amazing act of humanity from the 2 staff members inside their store during the late shift of 14/09/2023. Without going into too much detail, where others would've kicked someone out of the store these two ladies ensured that their customer was dealt with, with compassion, humanity, patience. Great to see kind people still in the world.

This coffee shop still has no WIFI. It is really annoying because the coffee is good. Only older people are going in and there not catering for younger people. It’s well out of order. I used to come here before work but now I have to go elsewhere!!

Accidentally found this establishment when we were looking for a little snack. All muffins are cooked on the premises and they offer vegan and gluten free muffins at reasonable prices. The wife had a banana and raspberry muffin (I think) and a vegan hot chocolate. I had the blueberry muffin and mocha. Lovely decent treat at a reasonable price. Will be coming again especially when the staff mentioned they do different types of vegan and gluten free muffin each day. Lovely friendly staff.

The staff are really good,helpful and efficient and shout out to all of them Harley,Frances,Emily,Mia and Snezana :)

Although the coffee was good they still have no WIFI whatsoever, which means only elderly are coming in. Just don’t get it they don’t cater for younger people who want to chill on their mobile. Makes no sense. It’s the only coffee shop who WIFI

Popped in for something to eat when in the shopping centre. Both my wife and I settled for their Flatbread with chicken salad - very tasty Service with a smile and apart from a delay in cleaning tables, I didn't experience any of the issues that others are reporting. It is fair to say, however, had I checked Tripadvisor before going in, I would have gone elsewhere but my experience was more positive. The flatbread was delicious, coffee excellent and no complaints on the service front but the general layout, decor & fittings stopped me from giving a higher marking. Would certainly be happy to go back.

My grandson was given money for a Nice Milkshake. Shop was very quiet. We ordered a caramel milkshake....no sprinkles no sauce on top. He went to ask lady behind counter...she answeted: 'we have no sprinkles and the sauce shown on picture is just for promotion '. He is 11 and came back to the table...not very happy. Won't go there again as not the cheapest around and you don't deliver as advertisef.change your 'pictures ' on menu and give discount if you don't have all the ingredients! The two coffees were lovely as well as chilly chicken wrap.

The guy's I was with were waiting to get served as they were the only two at the counter... I went to find a table, only arriving at our table I was then asked to sit on the next table up as they was closing a certain area but this table wasn't even in the area that was being closed... so I politely replied OK ... then the lady giving orders who asked me to move up to the next tabled failed to wipe the table which had all goo on it from the people before... Covid19 hasn't passed yet ladies... so I shouted politely not in a unappropriated way to one of the lads who was up there getting served just asking if they could get one of them to wipe the table... they did so covering my brand new trousers in whatever solution they had to clean the table .... why? Northampton has somewhat gone downhill in some respects but you have people treating people like this & why this continues Northampton will never improve so I think you need to work through a few strategies here :)

Entrance and display are enticing but thats as far as it goes…. no hello, no politeness at all. Cutlery thrown on the table, crisps awful, salad old and limp! No salt, pepper, salad dressing or napkins! i will not be returning for sure

Have to say I don't normally give reviews but feel I have to with this experience. Which was not a nice one. Young lady behind the till didn't say hello she was very blunt. Told to take a seat. We ordered 3 muffins, 2 chocolate chip & 1 gingerbread plus some sandwiches. Well when the same said young lady brought our food over well quite literally she threw the tray at us. And as for the gingerbread muffin no taste of ginger at all and it was a complete crumbling mess. Won't be eating here again gave a 2 star because my cappuccino was ok.

Called in here yesterday for a cake and coffee stop, as always the staff were lovely and friendly, the cake and coffee were good. Didn't have anything hot to eat but in the past the toasted sandwiches have been very tasty, it's definitely a regular pitstop for us.

Pleasantly surprised with the coffee and food I wasn’t expecting a wow coffee, but was well surprised. I had the apple and cinnamon muffin which was yum and so was my wife’s choc chip cookie. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Would have benefited of some tables on the outside of the restaurant If your looking for a good coffee whilst at the Grosvenor center. Very little care of attention given to preparation of food. Ordered a chicken flatbread that was given to me ripped in half by hand, not cut with a knife as would be reasonably expected. Worse still, the chicken flat bread was barely warmed up, how this was considered acceptable and handed to a customer is appalling. Reheating chicken is always risky, but if this is the attention to detail regularly afforded to customers I will certainly not be returning.

I was there about 11am on Tuesday 18th December, I witnessed what seemed liked the manager (muslim,tall, big built, bald) a very horrible and rude man rip a plastic apron off one of his staff members. This was vile and almost threatening behaviour and was embarrassing for everyone involved including the young girl who appeared terrified. I will definitely be reporting! I felt sincerley sorry for her! Will definitely not be going back, terrible service and felt like I wasn't welcomed. Hope this girl gets a new job soon and the manager see's this review!! DISGUSTING

Had a really good experience eating at Muffin Break this afternoon. In particular the blonde waitress who's name begins with A was incredibly smiley, helpful and welcoming.

If you don't want to be hit on and frequently asked uncomfortable and borderline inappropriate questions by a manager who looks twice your age, don't become a regular here.The manager has behaved this way to me and several other women I've asked when talking about Muffin Break. One woman I used to work with told me that she once applied to work there and during the interview the manager asked her if she was currently single and other such questions, said it felt like awkward speed dating! Another time I was meeting up with a friend and suggested Muffin Break for coffee and she answered "eugh, no way, the guy in there always chats me up!". It speaks volumes when this many people have had the same experience and have all been put off visiting!I now walk past Muffin Break if I see the manager behind the counter. The other members of staff are perfectly polite and friendly.The food itself is okay but nothing to write home about. The hot drinks and milkshakes are good with quite a broad selection and the loyalty card scheme is useful if you make a habit of going. The food however is 50/50. The baked goods are often dry and stale. The sandwiches are alright.

Better than Costa. Better selection of food. Better service. Also has a loyalty card scheme. Has it's own loo as well.

Ordered two muffins, both were on the fossilised side of stale, they also had none of their purported flavours. Utterly awful examples of the glorious muffin!

More impressed than I Thought passed the Muffin break lots never given second glance met up with a friend on her recommendation and was pleasantly surprised as shop went back further than I had expected good coffee good cakes will return

The guy dropped a muffin on the dirty tray and when we refused it he said. "It's fine" we said we'd rather have a fresh one. .so he threw it the bin and gave us another one!!! All our three muffins were stale and the 3 hot chocolates we had were sickly sweet and undrinkable. £14 wasted - Should have gone to Greggs!!

Popped in here for a morning snack. Had some lovely flatbread filled with chicken and almonds. Very tasty. And the muffins were to die for! I recommend the Mars bar one! Staff were really polite and helpful too.
